I love that you gave Amanda “Planterina” credit!! So respectful and cool of you. And I love this idea. Looks great! I have a big Monstera Dragon Tail 😍😍 Aloha from Maui, Hawaii!!
I live in very humid Sydney and they are taking over the house. My husband worries he'll be eaten during the night. If you want more humidity put your pots on a tray lined with peddles and wet the pebbles every few days, the water will evaporate up creating humidity. They will love it. I think the basket is perfect for it.
I'm so happy that you showed us how to make moss poles! I ordered everything on Amazon and used leftover PVC pipe that I had in my yard. I just made three moss poles and my son said, "Wow!" It's so rewardilng to be able to make something nice, at a fraction of the cost! Thank you, so much for the tutorial! ;0)
I agree! I'm so happy to have found this video. Anyone have any clue where to buy the shredded coconut fiber with stone mixture she had in the potting soil? Thanks.
I bought a plant from a store that was labeled Philodendron, I wanted to figure out exactly what type it was so I posted it on Facebook and everyone told me it’s actually a Monstera Deliciosa! They are such beautiful plants, I can’t wait to make its climbing pole and watch it grow! 😍
Thank you for such detail with your explanations and instructions on repotting a monstera. I should have watched this video a long time ago. I have a monstera that I haven’t done much research about and it’s huge now. I’ve had it for over a year. I’ve repotted it twice but I’m sure not with the proper care. It has really big aerial roots and I didn’t even know that’s what they were. I thought they were the reguLar roots growing up and out of the pot because it’s so big. I will be watching your other videos for more information and tips and tricks. Thank you!!
It was nothing but pleasure to watch this video, I totally enjoyed it! Great repotting job and very impressive final look of the plant in that basket. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!! My plant is dehydrated and I didn’t even know it. I recently moved from a humid climate (so cal) to a really dry climate (Boise, Idaho) and my plant has NOT thrived as it did in so cal! I currently have her in my tub with my diffuser on and the door shut. The poor baby! I didn’t even think about the humidity, DUH! Ive had her for years and she’s been so low-maintenance, and since we moved things went down hill and I had changed anything. Im going to repot her and get her a bigger pot. She’s so cramped. So happy for your video, thank you!! I’ll be misting a few times a day now! 😍😍😍
I absolutely love this series! I enjoyed every minute of this video (informative and mesmerizing). Next summer when I repot mine I am going to look for a similar basket ( I love that look). Also, I was thinking giving a plants as a gift (like for a house warming or a new job etc.) that one took the time to repot would be so sentimental.
Hi Christine! I'm addicted to your tasteful, informative and calming videos, and it's almost like a therapy for me. You have a great mission to show people how to love, take care and save the plants. I subscribed to your channel and enjoy watching your videos, especially the ones from Arizona:). I wish you and Michael the best in your creative activities!
I am in love with your videos! Just discovered your video about Monstera. I have been wanting one for a long time and I found a small one second hand. Now I want to make it beautiful. 🥰
You make repotting an Art Form 🌟 Enjoyed your meticulous strategy as well as your knowledge! I (we) Appreciate the education and learning ✨ You take my doubt out of investing these large beautiful loving plants! And ‘that’ basket is a dream 🤩 Wishing You a Wonderful week💫
Oh, you have reminded me that I must transplant my Monstera! 😄 Loving this series 💖. You're such a perfectionist, it looks gorgeous, great job. Thank you.
I appreciate you & this video SO much! I purchased my 1st Monstera from a Sam's club at the beginning of summer. I REALLY wanted one & was shocked to find it there of all places. Placed on my back porch, it has grown & grown! Now, getting ready to bring indoors (I live in Upstate, NY...pretty sure this tropical beauty will NOT "grow to love" the snow! 😉), I came across your video & I learned SO many things! Thank you for being so patient,no kind & so informative! 🤗
Great job with the plants! Love that video, my monstera is still small. It is hard to work on it in an apartment, careful under the shower will help with moisture. Thanks Christine.
Just purchased one last week very very Informative video especially in regards to the charcoal also because of the pandemic I have purchased over 20 indoor plants thanks for sharing your information
this was lovely and so very informative - I discovered Planterina last week and yes she taught me a lot about the vine type plants I love so much - lots of good tips from both of you! thanx for this....and all the future plant based vids you do...
Love the video!! Very informative and helpful. The basket you chose for the Monstera you replanted is beautiful and works perfect with the plant. I wish my house had more light to support more plants. I only have 2 standard windows to work with so, it's really cramped!! Love all your plants!!! I love homes that have plenty plants. Yours is GREAT!!!!
glad to find this video. because i am so scare and very nervous to to put the plant in a bigger pot. I do not know what type of monestra. this was given to my mom almost 30 years ago. when my mom passed away in 2013, i was semi taking care of it. now i have neglect it, not taking better care of my late mom's plant. so i am looking for videos to show me how to repotted into bigger plant step by step. it is huge. the last time i repott was almost 5 or 6 years ago. it is yelling me to put them in a bigger pot.
Christine, how do we propagate Monstera plants to make more? Could you do a video showing us how to do that, and where we should cut to make babies? Thank you in advance.....hugs to you.
Great video! I love that you teach us the signs of over- and underwatering, when to water, signs of sunburn and so on. It's much safer when you can actually read your plant instead of going by a schedule. Did you do a similar video on Haworthias? I got into them because of you actually 😊
Thanks for the very informative video. Just got a Monstera a couple of weeks ago so this video really helps. I have been following you since your orchid video in Maui. Really loved it when you guys were there.
I have been trying to find sphagnum moss everywhere in my local area. I have an extra piece of coco liner at home it’s made to fit the bowls, but I will cut it and make it work. Thank you for the idea!!🤗
Thank you so much for this video!!! Finally going to grow some balls and repot a few of my monsteras this spring. QUESTION FOR YOU - one of my monsteras is in a 10" pot. It's literally bursting at the seams, the roots broke through the pot & are crawling around 2" outside of the cracks. What pot size do you suggest I upgrade to?! TIA ❤❤❤
i do agree that they like humidity but please be careful with leaving water on the leaves! it will be fine if you live in a very dry and hot climate but if you have it indoors or the sun is going down it may cause a infection and turn your leaves black and brown... misting is best in early morning, but i think a humidifier will be better if you can.
I straight up grew my little fella from the tiniest little nothing to quite the lovely table plant. I have had to repot THREE times in the last 4 months -he just keeps going and going. I'm using very thin bamboo sticks to keep him growing upright and I'm terrified when I have to eventually stick one of those giant moss sticks in, worried I will completely damage the roots.
You're in Tucson! So am I! I was wondering if I can show you my monstera and have you give me a few tips, I can send a pic. There's all sorts of "what do I do about this?" questions. And I was wondering if there are any considerations to think about it being in the desert? And if you have any recommendations for plant lovers places/stores/gardens to check out locally, I love finding new things to see and learn how to take care of other green babies in the desert. Thanks for posting! :)
I was hoping you'd do a video on Monstera Deliciosa! I bought one after watching one of your videos (I think it was a home decor tour video?). It's doing well so far, but nowhere near the gorgeous plants you have!
Thanks for saying you're in Tucson AZ (desert) at the outset. 😀 It's humid climate for us and if we mist as you would we get fungus and bacteria growth on the leaves so we wouldn't be able to spritz as you would. Also, with all of those beautiful fenestrations, I'm not so sure your Monstera is a juvenile anymore. 😁
Mine had been thriving then it just didn't seem happy, I had roots coming out of the bottom of the pot, so I took the plunge in October. I had to cut the pot off, it had virtually no soil left (I felt very guilty) but it's thriving now and putting out new growth (even in an English dark winter)
What do you mean by “wet the pebbles”? Should they be literally wet on the surface or do you mean to fill the tray with water and cover with pebbles?
I'm so happy that you showed us how to make moss poles! I ordered everything on Amazon and used leftover PVC pipe that I had in my yard. I just made three moss poles and my son said, "Wow!" It's so rewardilng to be able to make something nice, at a fraction of the cost! Thank you, so much for the tutorial! ;0)
This is awesome!
This is the best in depth video about monstera that I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Christine is the BEST!!
Same here, and I very much agree.
I agree! I'm so happy to have found this video. Anyone have any clue where to buy the shredded coconut fiber with stone mixture she had in the potting soil? Thanks.
So excited for this video!! 🌿💚
Right on, that's so fantastic to hear! Thank you!
Ommmg I love your channel! such a pleasant surprise to find you here ahaha

You rock! I love the way she looks in the basket! I have huge Monsteras, Variegated as well. I’m going to get baskets! Thanks so much! I’m hooked!!!
It was nothing but pleasure to watch this video, I totally enjoyed it! Great repotting job and very impressive final look of the plant in that basket. Thank you for sharing.
OMG, j'adore les monsteras, ce sont des plantes tellement magnifiques, les tiennes sont parfaites! merci pour ce tuto, gros bisous de France
You are so brave to wear White while re-potting.
She looks beautiful in white.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge regarding the Montera Deliciosa plant.
Have a blessed New Year 2021.
🤣🤣🤣
In fairness, I love her all-white outfit. It looks great on her especially with the nice, healthy green plants in contrast.
The white outfit served as a beautiful backdrop.

I'm so happy you're enjoying the series! That's a great idea, giving a beautiful repotted plant is a lovely thoughtful gift idea. 🌵🌱🌿🙌
I received a monstera on mother’s day this year, am now a little more informed as to how to look after my plant, very informative, thank you so much.😘.
Very soft spoken with great clarity, and extremely informative

Me too. Good thing I was able to watch this video before repotting.
Yay! So glad it could help! Thank you!
Great job with the plants! Love that video, my monstera is still small. It is hard to work on it in an apartment, careful under the shower will help with moisture. Thanks Christine.
You put your plants under the shower?
Thank you for your thorough explanation. Your plants are Beautiful and so healthy looking!🌱🙂💛🌱
I also wet or moisten the pole to encourage the roots to grab onto it.

I have a question. the moss stick is made of wood. that does not rot because of the water. when you water the plant?
I need that basket!!
