Yes please for the solo 🙋🏼 I have been learning this since I saw your IG post...finally I can learn it properly! Thanks! Ill record a vid once I have the whole song down fully
Great lesson man, thank you. I have to apologize, when I first discovered this channel I thought you might be a bit old for this music, and then I looked in the mirror, oh crap!! I'm old too!! I'm 47, love your channel, so happy I discovered it. Cheers man!!
Thanks Matt. Late Sunday and I thought I’d start digging into this lesson. Another really great tutorial you’ve done! I bought this album when it first came out and it was a favourite. But after starting to learn guitar Soundgarden has climbed right into my top ten. Your lessons are going to keep me busy over the next few months after I’ve moved and got settled in. Thanks again.
That's awesome Kerry, glad you're finding some useful lessons! if you haven't already check out the Soundgarden playlist ua-cam.com/play/PLLJomVjCOvkjg5R9e4JxQEbWe06VtvNnd.html
Awesome sound. And thanks for finally doing a video in which you don’t show me that I’ve been doing a bit of it wrong for 20 years! Plus: did I hear you offer to work out a Kim Thayil solo? I think you may have just lost your mind...
Great job on this!!! Just recently found your channel and it’s just what I needed to get back into guitar! Thank you for what you do and much appreciated!
So good! That tone again just awesome. A favor for me if you could? In sticking with the Morello lessons and Soundgarden. Could you do Audioslave - One and the same- thats a killer tune and nobody does a good lesson of it. Thanks for all this great content!!!
Thanks Michael! I'll add it to the list, but I've got a long list of Patreon requests to get through first so best place is there if you want anything specific :-)
was told by a pal o mine last week that i should learn some soundgarden. i said they used i lot of weird tunings, so i dunno. then this came up in my feed. drop d. i guess i can manage that 😁
Excellent advice! Plus a lot of them are in Drop D so very low hassle factor there (Black Hole Sun etc) but for those that are in weird ass tunings there's also this ;-) - ua-cam.com/video/m6IqqlJknuI/v-deo.html
This is one of those songs I committed to memory years ago. I had the official tab books, which I loaned to a mate about 15 years ago, never to see them again. I play this quite differently - did you work this out by ear, watching videos, or do you have the tab? Cheers!
Hey Andrew! I always work out the tab myself and it's a multitude of things - mainly by ear and where possible watching videos, but also slowing down parts, having an understanding of some theory and the style of the person you're working out tunes for helps too. The official TAB books were great back in the day, but it'd be very rare for the bands to be involved in those, which i always found a little nuts. But it's not the band putting them out, it's the publisher, so companies like Hal Leonard would outsource to a transcriber to work it out as well as an engraver to input the notes into some software (although these days that would be the same person i think). They'd obviously do the best they could, but would be up against a deadline and to ensure the arrangement takes up as few pages as poss and back in the day there were far fewer resources to pull from. Ever seen the first edition of Pearl Jam's Ten book? It's terrible haha :-) They reprinted it later and it's much better now...
@@LetsPlayAll I can't lie, I borrowed my mate's copy of the Ten book and photocopied the whole thing on the school's copier! I was still using that tab until I started watching your channel 😂
Thanks man, looking back at this it’s a super dark video! Man I’m still learning so much about lighting, filming and editing when all I really wanna do is work out and teach more tunes haha but every days a school day! Thanks for the feedback mate!
@@LetsPlayAll great stories (especially the concerts and tours) on the Seattle music scene 80s, 90s and yes, those bands ;) For example Kim Thayil spoke how he showed Jerry Cantrell the Drop D tuning, though not much guitar and gear stories. Definately worth reading.
Will add to the list but it may take a while, i prioritise Patreon requests so you're welcome to head over there if you're keen for anything specific. Cheers!
Had to relearn this today. Always the best source for the best music.

Nice it’s not too difficult for the most part, prechorus riff probably the hardest bit (and the weird timing of the chorus!) - enjoy!
This is my favorite song from my favorite band! Thank you for teaching me how to play this amazing song!
Welcome mate!
Thanks! Your lessons are excellent. This is one of the most fun riffs I've learnt so far.
Cheers!

haha don't worry this is my mid-life crisis mate! Glad you found the channel and are finding the lessons useful :-)
That's funny, we never think of ourselves as being old because we feel the same, lol. Until we catch a glimpse of ourself in a store window.
Thanks Matt.

How can i tune in drop D?
Just play your d string and tune big E to it
Yup as Rob said - your low E string needs to go down 1 step (or 2 frets in pitch) from E to D until it matches the pitch of your 3rd (D) string :-)
My poor neighbours 🙉😅
Haha up to 11 please Mr Madden!
