Great song. They say that Pink Floyd started in London, but I think they started on another planet, and when they first came to earth, they landed in London. What an incredible band!
Enjoy your reactions.... He makes his guitar cry out in sorrow and hope. I was lucky enough to see them 5 times, and every time was awesome... but for future reference... the Number 1 cardinal rule is; Never interrupt a David Gilmore solo.
Once I experienced a Pink Floyd concert, my mind was blown. They're in a class all their own. I left high on the Pink Floyd experience and I was sober.
I would say that in my opinion the best guitar solo from David Gilmour (Pink Floyd guitarist extraordinaire) would be his Comfortably Numb performance post-Pink Floyd at Pompeii. I am sure others have their own opinions.
I'd go with the outro solo from Comfortably Numb on PULSE. Utterly sublime. Close second would be a tie between Sorrow and that epic pedal steel bit in One of These Days
The thing about listening to David Gilmour's solos is that one says, every time, this is the best thing I've ever heard. And I know I said that on the last song, and this one, and fuck me if I don't say it again on the next one.
Well, this music is legit! This amount of quality and production capability in a band doesn't just happen overnight. The countless hours, days, weeks, months, years and even decades of practice, recording, playing and performing together with excellent musicians is what puts this group and their music up on a whole different level. Striving to please "US" with musical excellence. It's all about them being 100 % professional....... period. Great reaction as always!
The Reason Pink Floyd shows are sold out is because if you've seen them before you know it's going to be the Best Concert you've ever seen from anyone!! I base that on having seen them 4 times, twice in the 70s once for this tour you're watching now and the 94 pulse tour! I've seen approximately 100 concerts with just about everybody from ACDC to Zeppelin and everyone in-between alphabetically and some of those shows were unbelievably great music and I had a great time but I've never seen a better show than Pink Floyd puts on ever!! That's why they're sold out, ALWAYS! People would hear Pink Floyd's coming to town and would walk out of their own wedding to go stand in line for tickets! They're just that good!
I've been loving Pink Floyd since I was 14 I'm 59 now, and my feeling hasn't changed. So much emotion from David Gilmour's lyrics and playing. You have a great taste 😉
The most amazing thing about David Gillmor is when during an interview he said he didn't read music. All of this great music is in his head and is being given to us through his guitar. I'm 81 and was there from the beginning. My all time favorite band. When I purchased The Wall
Seen Floyd and Queen. Floyd win hands down. Queen I'm afraid were a bit disappointing after seeing Floyd. They didn't really stand out much from many other very good bands I've seen but Floyd absolutely blew my mind.
Saw Floyd in 1995 (?) in Vancouver BC their Division Bell Tour. The most intense concert, wow seeing these guys is an Experience not just a concert. 21/2 hours blazers, floating big Pigs and everyone in their seats,,, mesmerized.
Gilmore is a master string bender. He sings with his guitar. Pink Floyd mastered the emotions of music early on and never looked back. Their music reflects life; both are an emotional journey. Their music seems ageless. The listener is moved with complex emotions and seems to never get tired of the PF magic. I'm grateful to have seen them .
I think there's a school of thought that rock music is for white people. The funny thing is that almost all of the rock bands you're reacting to, including Pink Floyd, got their core sound from the great black blues guitarists from the 40s and 50s. There would be no rock music without those great players. They created the foundation that all these bands were built on.
Been a life long floyd fan and I love seeing people discovering them. I was there in 94 at the concert as well as all the others in 94 and 89. Love seeing your reactions to them.
One of the best overall music experiences ever! Coming Back to Life, High Hopes & Sorrow are about the same level of greatness. Would never get tired of hearing them on a loop
Hahaha you got the bug my man it's contagious find all thier songs and be amazed been a life long lover of this amazing band of genious's welcome to the group🤘👏👏👏
My ultimate favorite band saw them live in the 70s and 80s, but Pulse has to be the ultimate concert ever done, brilliant... an experience you'll never forget. The music, all the different instruments, the visuals, the atmosphere takes you to another world...Thanx so so much, Peace
""On the Turning Away" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1987 album, . The song was a staple of live shows from the 1987-89 world tours in support of and was one of the songs in rotation during the 1994 tour in support of .
I really enjoyed your reaction. They are in another galaxy with there music! I had the privilege of seeing them in Ohio six weeks before they filmed the Pulse concert and they didn't miss a beat! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see them during this tour. It's really great to see the footage though!
OkBOSS...this is mid 90s..pulse tour..look up all the stuff from the pulse tour..that stage was epic and the show was to.I was at one of these concerts and I will say that evening was one of the best times Ive had in my whole life.......even if you dont know pink floyd, even if you never heard much of their music this is a journey in your life, this takes you some place you never been and its too a damn good place to be.......it was like traveling to a new land you never been to...it is just so dang good..that evening was one of the best times in my life and to this day I feel lucky to have gotten to see them like this....so good.
Great reaction from start to finish. You are correct: this IS the best guitar solo. You chose wisely. More reactors are realizing that is video is the go to for this song. Also, this performance is part of the best concert video filmed -DSOT '88 Naussau Coliseum, L.I., NY. Every aspect of this production is near flawless.
Have never heard this one...thanks for reacting to it...I went and watched the video with the lyrics...hard to understand the lyrics when they are in concert. Loved it. Watched to the End...as always.
Great to see you enjoy the Floyd so much!!! I saw them 3 times,3,4 and 5 september 1994,in the Kuip in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. On the 5th, I stood right in front of Gilmour, the best place in the house!!! It was AMAZING!!! Comfortably Numb, and High Hopes are the 2 songs you should listen too!! The live versions from the 1994 Division Bell tour are the best! Enjoy! Aad168 Cheers!😇
Since first hearing them over 40 years ago in junior high school, Pink Floyd quickly became my #1. There is simply no other band whos music struck my soul on such a profound level...and for David Gilmour, there is no other guitar player that can put a lump in my throat with one note. No disrespect to the rest, so many of whom I enjoy and admire... but Pink Floyd operate in their own universe...and they are masters at taking you there.
Gilmore is known for his epic solo's & each one is unique. & YES!! the back up singers. They have a whole song with no vocals, just a back up singer. "GREAT GIG IN THE SKY". The next solo u should do is "KEEP TALKING" from the same concert. Amazing back ups too. I seen Pink Floyd in 1972 😂 in Seattle with "YES". Awesome reaction. ♥️💯😎
No words what they mean to so many people around the World . And i like to thank them from the buttom of my heart for spending so much of their Lifetime to do what they are best in , create something new to touch soul's at every age to explore their own self and be a good human . I will listen right to them when my call is coming , if i'm able to i hope .
I'm 52 and I have a recommendation for anyone. Couple of bong hits, turn off the lights, sit and listen to this entire album front to back. No video, no phones, just listen. That's how we spent most of the late 80s. LOL.
A Dogg...you have to see one of these days....we were at Pontiac Silverdome and the Pigs came out..Wow 94' most behaved crowd I've ever seen....Amazing!
6 of my friends and I saw Pink Floyd on their last North America Tour back in 1994 at Death Valley Stadium/Clemson University... The "Pulse Tour" We lived in Asheville NC at the time. So we weren't to far away. What an amazing night we had. The concert was 4 1/2 hours of nothing but Pink Floyd ✌️😎 There were 92,000 inside the stadium, but the whole college campus was partying... Their laser light show was awesome... Everything about was! 🪶 🪶 🪶 Journey Well Brother's and Sister's 🙏🌹💜
As it happens the best (live) solo was played by a 70 y o man in Pompeii in 2016. His name is David Gilmour, and even if you think you heard the best version, if you haven't heard that one, you haven't.
This is one of my favorite David Gilmour guitar solos; the song itself is so emotional and then the solo is intense while still melodic and it feels like it goes on forever! (That's a good thing!). For more awesome Pink Floyd solos, if you haven't already reacted to it, I suggest, "Another Brick in the Wall," live from the Pulse concert.
When I read "IS THE BEST SOLO EVER?" on the small preview windows, I thought if this isn't going to be Pink Floyd, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Then I found that he knows what he's talking about.
Just watched your reaction to "Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood" you were trying to decide best guitarist, well David Gilmour ranks up there to in my opinion. This song right now is needed! Ukraine!! Please watch the song just released by them in support of the people of Ukraine 'Hey Hey, Rise Up' Will watch for your next reaction. Peace
Your next song might be 'High Hopes' filmed in Gdansk Poland or the last live concert recording of 'Echoes' recorded at the same concert I believe. 'Echoes' won't be played again as Richard Wright passed away over a decade ago and Gilmour has not played the song since. 'Echoes' is a long one but well worth for the last 4 or 5 minutes or so.
Rock 'n' Roll Music suitable for the Church!!! Imagine some service when the organist cranks this one up!! Many churches have small instrumental combos, too; keyboard, drums, acoustic guitars, of course their choirs (oh, that backing vocals part!!!).
enjoyed the reaction keep it up this live performance is from the concert delicate sound of thunder the greatest show on earth period just imagine all this showmanship that nothing comes even close to it's level of perfection even today was done in 1989 i recommend you watch the whole concert it's on UA-cam
Great song. They say that Pink Floyd started in London, but I think they started on another planet, and when they first came to earth, they landed in London. What an incredible band!
They are like beyond earth melodies but real life scenarios. My favorite is Gravy train
There has not ever been another band like Pink Floyd. I got to see them when Division Bell came out. Was amazing.
I can't argue..With that.
Amen on that ❤🎉
I'm 75 years old, and Pink Floyd is still my favorite band. Goosebumps right now.
Understand you so much, traveled with them
72 for me, we had great music, still holds up.
Im 82 and still listening to Pink Floyd. I also have all the albums. Been buying them from original starting in the sixties to now
@@jdchevy100 Way to go , old man.
Repeat after me: "I will NEVER NEVER EVER pause a David Gilmour solo EVER again."
In my eyes it's a mortal Sin to pause a gilmour Solo.
Write it on the chalkboard 100 times, like Bart Simpson.
😜
Used to tell my kids unless there are broken body parts do not interrupt the guitar solo or the drum solo.
AMEN!!!!!!!!
Relax champ. It’s not your channel. He should pause as much as he wants!
The music of Pink Floyd are a joy for the soul. How lucky we were, we lived on their own planet.
🍃💚🍃🔥🔥🔥Agree!
How lucky we are that they visited our planet?
@@Varksterable A lot.

The number 2 rule is to spell David's surname correctly. Out of respect.
you lucky so and so

perfect sense part 1 and 2.....you will here those high notes hit the roof.
when david gilmour makes the guitar carry on that note ..sends goosebumps everytime
Pink Floyd's message is always deep, always one of empathy for humanity, suffering, and the planet. I love that about them! Thank you David Gilmour.
I've been loving Pink Floyd since I was 14
I'm 59 now, and my feeling hasn't changed. So much emotion from David Gilmour's lyrics and playing. You have a great taste 😉
We're the same age & they've been my favorite since my teens. Will we ever outgrow Pink Floyd? Hope not!
It's still damn tasty at 67!
59 here as well and still love this group
59 too and started listening at 12 and the feeling today is even better.

That is the great Richard Wright on keyboards... he made the sound of Pink Floyd. RIP Rick 😎
Definitely one of the greatest rock bands of all time. I put them right up there with Led Zeppelin and Queen.
Better than both! Seen PF few times and Zep, no comparison!
Pink Floyd is star systems above any band ever

Ironic they are named after 2 blues artists.
Best stadium band that ever played a concert. got to see them three times in concert. they were all about the music and the show.
There will never be but ONE David Gilmour! He's not the fastest or most technical but damn he puts pure emotion into a guitar solo!!!
"Mother" (1979) has one of the brightest, feel-good solos you'll ever hear.

Pink Floyd is good for the soul. So glad I got to grow up listening to them and still till this day their music still soothe the soul
