The thing I love most about “Fun Onions” is that, while wrong, it conveys exactly the meaning of the actual name. I think I’ll say fun onions from this point on. It literally makes me smile every time I hear it.

I’ve been in such a depressed state all day since I woke up at 9 AM and now it’s 6 in the morning and I’m so tired and drained and haven’t smiled once today. That’s until I watched this video, seeing how happy you get and how interesting and fun your videos are made me happy for the first time all day and I didn’t even realize I was happy until you pointed out that it’s impossible not to smile about it.
Wanted to agree but I saw one where a dude cl undercooked his steak, didn't rest it before cutting it and then claimed his level of doneness was perfect because any more cooking would kill the beef flavor 🙈
I didn't really make the connection of potatoes and steaks till he mentioned it. He probably didn't make the connection either till he had the first steak

When I visited the USA 2 years back, i tried cheetos for the first time. and had some beef around. try using crushed cheetos (i used the red spicy ones) as a substitute for "panko" and do the japanese gyu katsu. all i used was egg, crushed cheetos, and deep fry it. DO IT. JUST DO IT.

watching this made me think of something that i saw on a BBC show years ago where a guy that made amazing dark chocolate was on the show and he did strange things with his dark chocolate like injecting a turkey half way through its cooking with his dark chocolate, i dunno why but it made me think of that, then it started making me think "what if you tried cooking some steak sous vide, then before you make a crust with the flame thrower you inject a small amount of dark chocolate into one of the steaks?" i dunno how i would feel with this it might work better if you did it on guga foods instead of this sous vide everyhting though as you can inject them half way through the cooking cycle
Guga my man. Lemme tell you a crust story. Made steak for my father and I, we have panko parm crusted asparagus. The veggies were meh, but crusting the steak in the mix was amazing! We've done it several times and its just great. Its simple too! Toast some panko in oil. Put it into a bowl and mix in a bunch of parm, some garlic powder and a some parsley if youre feeling fancy. Total knockout.
Found some amazing looking New York strip steaks with some crazy looking marbling at the grocery store yesterday for pretty cheap. I cooked them with my sousvide and seared them on the grill today for dinner with some garlic mashed potatos and garlic breat. It was amazing, and I'm so happy I found this channel 2 years ago or I'd never have known about sous vide
For those wondering why Guga is pronouncing “Funyuns” as “fun onions”, Brazilian Portuguese has a unique pronunciation for the letter y. By itself the letter y sounds like “epsilon” in Brazilian Portuguese. Also K,W, and Y were foreign letters in Brazilian Portuguese as recently as 2009.
The fact that guga uses the same adjective (“amazing”) to describe plain ruffles and a Japanese wagyu A5 cooked sous vide really makes me wonder if any of this is as good as I’ve told myself it is.
Guga: dont use a bowl for chips guys, no need to dirty a bowl. Also Guga: *dumps ruffles into plate, grabs handfulls into food processor, dumps into a dish*
Doritos are great on everything... I crush them up and put them on my hotdogs, burgers, and tacos! Adds a crunch and cheesy deliciousness to everything! And Guga... I love how excited you are for this one!

It makes sense. Ruffles thick, dense, crunchy texture would go well with the thick meat. High on salt and msg really enhance the flavors. And its straightforward and classic potato flavor play well together with steak.
