@@ethanheinkel9086 Wrong. The mold is already inside the steak. Just because you see nothing, doesn't mean it's not there. Why do you think he thought it tasted like truffle.
When dry aging in something as thick as Nutella, you have to have one side or at *least* one side uncovered so it doesn’t trap all the moisture within. You got the moisture trapped inside and it started moulding and rotting.
Cutting off the mold is not going to make it "Safe to eat", the mold will have spread throughout the entirety of the meat. That's also why you throw out the entire loaf of bread, if there's mold on only one of the slices. The mold spreads throughout.
Yes that's why u had to cook em properly and the toxic spore from the fungus does not penetrate deep into the meat so searing will kill most of the harmful stuff and become edible
That's really subjective. It Depends on how much mold and the kind of mold. A little mold on the crust isn't going to affect the bread beyond that, but A LOT means it probably has penetrated. That said, I wouldn't have bothered cooking this steak after seeing that mold.
@@Mikeanglo as a biotechnologist, I have to agree to the main coment. I'm sure the team over at Guga Foods does not want to see any of their viewers getting hurt.

When dry aging in something as thick as Nutella, you have to have one side or at *least* one side uncovered so it doesn’t trap all the moisture within. You got the moisture trapped inside and it started moulding and rotting.
Imagine being a cow, going to Heaven and just see your remains get slathered in Nutella.

I love these videos and his voice and the way he speaks is SO relaxing!
imagine going to gugas house thinking that there’s a chocolate cake in the fridge so you cut it and it’s just *M E A T*
Do your research before saying something Bread and Meat are 2 Competely different things.
Even if its a little mould on the crust of a bread, its a clear sing that the mould penetrated it and started "blooming" (the white-green mouldy apearence is the reproductive body of the fungus). Its the same thing for the meat. Also, in the video the meat has literaly little mould "popcorns" insteadof the common "carpet pattern we normaly see
@@joaopedromedeiros3689 If you really are a bio-technologist then I guess I should stop eating moldy bread. I'm gonna miss those pretty colors every time I close my eyes, though.

Don't be surprised if Angel is not on the steak tasting next episode.
✖️👄✖️
So what happened: Sugar from Nutella was feeding molds and they grew substantially, then mold enzymes dissolved the meat a lot. I'm personally against this kind of stuff, might turn out dangerous.
Ahh I was looking for a scientific explanation like this in the comments.
Angel is a man with a special set of skills. Honestly, the man knows his weird steak.
I'm not even finished with the video but a note to everybody here NEVER, EVER, EVER EAT MEAT WHICH SMELLS, OR APPEARS RANCID, DECAYED, OR ROTTEN. IT CAN KILL YOU. I trust that they had medical professionals on standby in case they got very, very sick, but please, nobody repeat this experiment, and if you do, absolutely DO NOT eat the meat if it turns out like this. Those juices were caused by the decay of the meat, and the mold was caused via a contamination, in a professional environment all other open or loosely closed foods in the fridge should have been immediately thrown out due to potential contamination. Remember guys, food is nothing to play around with, and while these experiments are a load of fun to watch, please do not try to recreate them! I'm sure the team over at Guga Foods does not want to see any of their viewers getting hurt.

Yeah no. Careful with this one because some species of mold is horrible to eat and not all of its toxin can be broken by heat. If he can control the species of mold that grow on his steak, only then it is 100% safe.

The way they’re just staring at each other while eating the experiment steak is killing me!!
Steak basically entirely encased in mold and rotting on the outside.
"Huh tastes kinda funky, like a stale truffle"
They could have gotten super sick as 1. The truffle if the mold (the fuzzy part you see) is the reproductive parts and they show up last after the molds "roots" already spreed to every inch and can contain toxins that when cooked can get even worse
2. Since its wus in nutella and no air got to the meat it could of had botulism a very deadly bactra that isn't killed by heat
