    Great video, I hope I can have my car running well when I put the Jenvey kit on my nb

    Great summary of some of the typical ITB setup issues. I had the same issue with the throttle plates not closing all the way on the Jenvey kit. I added shims to the spring mechanism that they include in the kit, it helps but I am also looking at swapping out the spring for one that will generate more closing force.

    Hello! Love the video, tons of great Info! I’ve got a jenvey kit that’s installed but I have yet to try and start it because I’m afraid I’ve missed something and I don’t want to ruin the fresh build before it even runs. Would you be willing to get on like a FaceTime or something and we can kind of go over the setup and I can take notes? I’ve been trying to find someone to help me for what feels like forever lol!! Any help is appreciated and keep up the great work!

      As of right now it's been a hot minute since I've messed with that. But I would definitely be willing to hop on something to go over everything you have with your setup there. I don't have an iPhone so I probably have to use like Google Hangouts. But I appreciate that you like the video. Email me at ivgarageracing@gmail.com so I can get some more information on what you have for like engine management and such.

    Hey love the vid dude ! Question, i have a ITBs do I need to tune my rev map limiter so I can hit this 7500 rpm with these flying Miata valve springs

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  Рік тому

      Thank you so much for the support! You will have to readjust, of course remember, if you're running stock rods, that should be the limit as well since the rods will potentially stretch over that. What you should do is the hard limit at 7500rpms, and I like to do a 200rpm soft limit below, so 7300rpms. also make sure your ignition table and ve table go to 7500 rpms.

    For the speed density part of the ITB mode tune, where did you mount the Intake Air Temp sensor?

      I just sat it in the engine bay near the ITBs, soon I will have a rewire video up and will place it in a better spot.

    I have a question for ya, what do you think about long tube runners for ITB’s? I’m interested in doing turbo in the future with the ITBs. My platform is a SOHC civic, so they’re aren’t really a ton of options. What I want to do is kinda create manifold runners from the ITBs to the front in the traditional way an intake would. When I do go turbo I’d like to use a 4 way connection and send it through the intercooler. But In all fairness there’s not a ton of information about it especially a “DIY” type deal. Just curious what you thought.

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      from what I'm reading, you want to do like a header style manifold instead of a manifold type that mounts onto the itbs right?

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  2 роки тому +2

      Honestly I feel like turbo ITB would be kinda hard at least from a drivability standpoint. Only because ITBs can't pull much vacuum naturally, so trying to tune the table to be able to easily transition from light throttle inputs to high load and high boost, would be kind of a pain. Just from what I've been doing and seeing from tuning. But I mean I would definitely be an awesome build. I would definitely recommend trying it because even if you're the first person to do it, you'll have the actual info on how to do it.

    • @charlesdemeary
      @charlesdemeary 2 роки тому

      @@6siks exactly! Precisely! 😂 I’ve tried to explain this to many people and they can’t see it. But yes essentially a header type manifold for the cold side that would collect in a 4 way collector in which it will be ran in such a way for a little while because I’d like to test it out with NOS. If the engine and everything responds well then we’ll slap a decent size snaily boy on. But this is still all in my head I’d like to get an opinion from someone with experience

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      @@ivgarage with FI, that won't be an issue. It's getting into vacuum is when it happens so quick. Because of less space. Itb turbo builds have been done before. And it's insane

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      @@charlesdemeary I had this thought too, but after toying with itbs for so long with this car I enjoy it. Doing a boost setp up with it would be on a different engine than what I got now. There is almost non existent data on if it can be done. So what is stopping you at this point?

      Sounds good. Yeah I need to figure out how to make time stamps in the video as well

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      6:10 even with solid lifters, it's best to balance the throttles because you have four butterfly valves instead of one. so you want to even the flow as much as you can.

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      7:20 the balancing screws are meant to balance the throttle bodies. as for high idle issue, you want to use the throttle screw itself to adjust idle. that's what I did for mine and I sit between 1.1k to 1.2k for mine. side note: I call that tool the intake hookah because lol.

    Will Fuell efficiency be much worse at low rpm ?? 2500-3000 as a daily car

    • @6siks
      @6siks 2 роки тому +1

      That all depends on your tune. Ultimately it won't be great because..
      1. You can't meter the airflow effectively without the MAF
      2. You got rid of your EGR system and can't burn anything unburned, thus running a tad rich.
      3. Altitude is a bully to ITB set ups typically, but there are ways to combat it.
      I would not recommend dailying a vehicle with ITBs because of these reasons. I see typically between 113 - 150 MPGs from full to quarter tank, that varies how fast I am to warm up and drive since we don't usually run IAC valves. But to boil it down, it heavily depends on your tune.

      @@MrTAKIS1984 the goal is to run around 12.8 afr full throttle and stoich at cruising and idle. Typically the same as with what the stock ecu can already do but with itbs we need the standalone. Sure you can run two different maps or so, but I don't think it would do that much for you
