I really hope they face some charges for that "wellness check" they used to intimidate or scare her. It's not funny to send the police to someone's door.
I had an odd wellness check. Yeah, the sherriff's officer who did most of the talking did not seem to care why I needed to sit down. Odd.

I followed Lauren the Mortician but unfollowed NOT because of CaffinatedKitti, I didn't even know about that, but because of what I learned of her conduct through the course of this lawsuit.
You didnt unfollow her when she was homophobic & attacked that child safety expert after he questioned her testing methods and child safety knowledge?

Same, except that I unfollowed her when that whole "please don't pretend to be an expert on stuff" drama started, because she got so angry over people asking her to not review products and slap a seal of approval on them when she is not an expert in the field and some of those products had not been tested by experts and therefore could potentially be dangerous. Well and then that whole ordeal with that car seat safety expert (Jamie? I think? Don't remember his name). I had no clue who Janet was or that there was a lawsuit until the videos about it started, but neither Ian's coverage nor any previous videos by any of the defendants had anything to do with me unfollowing Lauren, that was 100% her own (in my opinion gross) behavior.

What a silly quote. The gap between the best and second best will be small enough that the worse of the two will still win fairly often. A bad swordsman will often strike without consideration for defense, possibly injuring their opponent while dying themselves. The worst swordsman won't even make it that far. The worst will lose a hand (or be cut on the hands/wrist bad enough to drop their weapon) long before they actually injure the best swordsman.
This is without considering armor, where the best swordsman has absolutely nothing to fear from the worst swordsman.
It explains itself well by claiming the unpredictability of the incompetent is more dangerous than a predictable but highly skilled opponent. It's still a very silly quote with little basis in which swordsman is more dangerous to the world's best.

@@codywilson682 I understand the intent but write a response explaining why the example used to show the intent displays the exact opposite. Part of it being overly long was to ensure niceties were preserved and avoid being overly rude.
It's similar to "I could care less if you like it." You can understand what I mean, but the phrasing is actually stating the opposite of the meaning and understanding should be. It's quite similar to modern use of the word "literally" now that I think of it.
I also understand analytical discussions have their own place and time. When someone bothers to watch a lawyer speak on a lawsuit, then quote a statement regarding swordsmanship, I feel it is safe to assume they might be open to thinking more deeply on words they use. Similarly, I assume you are able to understand that parties are neither the time nor place to interject yourself into another's conversation only to insult them.

There's actually some similarity to a terrible lawyer flailing around and being entirely ineffective. There shouldn't be much to fear from such incompetence, and the best lawyer should certainly fear the second best lawyer far, FAR more.
That's the problem though. You *can* sue someone for pretty much anything. As long as you don't care about "winning" you can do a hell of a lot of financial damage to the defendant.
It's absolutely insane to me that in a way it doesn't even matter if it gets dismissed. By the time the suit is dismissed and any kind of antislapp damage gets awarded you could be out a couple hundred thousand dollars and 5 or 6 years.
I think the law should be changed so that the loser has to pay ALL lawyers fees. That might make people think twice about suing for stupid stuff.
And what happens if you are being hit with a BS suit and just don’t have the money for a lawyer nor a following to help fund one. .

@@KariN-or3sc it wont be fraud. They need the money to pay the retainer fee while the case is ongoing. Getting the money back at the end doesn’t mean it was not needed.

The anger I feel over how this ridiculous situation is wasting valuable court time and resources because 2 women are such toddlers they can’t understand that others aren’t bad because they disagree with their take is getting visceral! Not only the courts time and resources but 4 women who’d only crime was to speak up and give their opinions on something they thought was problematic! There should be a screening process for lawsuits like this to weed out situations like this so people don’t lose everything they have defending themselves against nonsense! Not sure how that’s not already a thing but we wouldn’t want to do things that make sense in this country! Love Runkles take as always!
The sheer amount of Court time, AND paperwork, as well as stress, involved in an anti-SLAPP case is still insane. There has to be a better way for the courts to deal with all these thin skinned power crazy people?
The disappointing part about a trial is that Braun wouldn't be the one doing the lawyering. It would still be interesting to hear her explain the police call though.
But for the sake of everyone being sued I hope everything gets dismissed and they get their attorney fees back. It's terrible that they have to go through all of this madness.

Question? What would happen if Janet drops the suit against every one before the judge makes any judgment? Would the counter suit still be able to be judged on and the money for lawyers be paid for? My concern is that Janet wrote this whole lawsuit, a friend signed their name to it as the lawyer and then Janet has everyone up in arms and paying lawyers, but all she is out is her own time and energy and maybe how much it cost to file? With the full evil plan to pull the lawsuit before anything is ruled on, basically costing all the girly’s money, time, energy, upset. Worse, nothing gets proven so she can continue to do and claim the same insane things.
In America yes I believe so and if not then they can sue for damages for frivolous law suits which I am jolly certain is a thing in America. And I can't imagine any situation where this would not be something that is done - and at that point it's filed in whatever State they want, so they would most certainly go for a anti-slap state

I just wanna say I love how in depth your videos are, and how long they are. This is all super interesting.
My understanding of the DMCA takedown process was that under 17 US Code secion 512 g meant that services providers like youtube could be held liable if they take down the material, if they don't also follow the process for a counter notification and restore the material.
But the question would then be what liability is there, given in most cases they can choose to take the content down anyway.
