I’ve always used this method,… it’s great! The only thing I do differently is add less milk with a little bit of butter as well as salt and pepper,… and I also turn the microwave down to 3/4 power and stir well every 30 seconds for an even softer texture. Also turning the microwave down gives you a little more room for error.
I would set the microwave for 3 minutes to start with. That way you're not having to keep setting it. Just take them out and stir after so many seconds and then pop them back in and hit start each time. It's not like you're going to walk away.
They most certainly do, and there is less to wash up too! We all know how much it sucks trying to clean a pan after you've made scrambled eggs, regardless of how long you leave it to soak.
@@neilgc4943 I don't use a pan. I use a Bowl. And mash is when it's on the toast, still piping hot. No little pieces keep dropping of your fork. If you keep stirring it every minute, you lose heat and the pieces just get more and more in bits, and you lose flavour too. Try putting it on top of your toast still in one piece and slightly mash it, then Taste it, and you'll see what I mean...
I've been doing this for years and its way simpler than this guy makes it seem. Beat the eggs in a bowl put them in the microwave on full power for about 2 minutes. Quick stir and then back in until firm another 30 secs. (I add milk to the mix - optional). The other + for the microwave method is you don't have to stand there stirring allowing you to get on with something else.
lol Don't go by the best by date. There good for at least a month as long as they're refrigerated. Just had some that were almost 2 months past the expiration date. Obviously look it up but you'll see they good for 3-5 weeks beyond the expiration date they put on the carton.
You're most welcome! It's a nutritionally dense breakfast/brunch packed with plenty of protein & good fats, minimal carbs... and not a Danish in sight!
They look delicious! Does the amount of milk you add affect the cooking time as well as the power of your MW? We have a really powerful one (no clue what whattage lol) and I only use a splash of milk. I do 50 secs stir then just 50 more secs. I played around with it the 1st two times then the 3rd I had it down pat. Thanks for posting!! 😁 All the best from Pittsburgh PA and stay safe😷
Hi! Thank you for your comments :) The amount of milk will affect cooking time/duration but it sounds like you have it al in hand. If you want nice creamy eggs then add more milk. For those who like their eggs a little firmer then use less milk or cook for longer. All the best, from merry old Blighty!
Of course... or you could cook them for a bit longer. Xanthan gum is fine but not for anyone looking to stay away from carbs, as it is a polysaccharide.
I beg to differ, especially if you add in the washing up. But then this was never about saving time, it was about proving that microwave scrambled eggs were every bit as good as those made in a pan on a hob.
Probably not if you do it like that but then we're getting in to the realms of The Saturday Kitchen's Omelette Challenge if we are looking at shaving seconds off the time. I would also challenge the quality of the end result.
cheers to you, and hope they tasted yummy, but FFS...put in, take out, put in, take out, over and over and over????? no thanks. any semi-competent person should be able to do eggs in a buttered saucepan over medium heat.
I could cook it on the stove faster than this. I put a little water in my eggs, salt, and cheese, and onion powder, and they come out fluffy and delicious.
I'm sure we all have a touch of OCD about us but this was never about quickness or saving time, it was just to show that they are every bit as good as scrambled eggs done in a pan, or possibly better :) The few seconds that may be saved whichever way is proven to be quicker would be negligible at best.
Ez soha nem az időmegtakarításról szólt, hanem annak bizonyítására, hogy olyan jók, mint a serpenyőben elkészített rántotta, vagy még jobbak! Személy szerint úgy gondolom, hogy a tojások így sokkal jobbak!
Absolutely! Seed oils (aka Vegetable oils) are one of the worst things a person can put in their body. Exceedingly high in Linoleic acid (Omega 6) which carries a 'growth' signal to the fat cells of the body, which is why it isn't satiating. Give me saturated fat (stearic acid from animal fats and butter. etc.) any day of the week (for the record, stearic acid has an 'off' signal which stops the fat cells from growing, or more accurately, prevents them from sending out the 'I'm still hungry' signal). Food for thought indeed!
Each to their own! I like my eggs like this. Too much cooking an it comes out looking and tasting like MacDonald's scrambled eggs (one solid mass, like an egg cannonball).
The thing you want to avoid is heating/cooking it too quickly. You will end up with 'rubber eggs' if you do, kind of like a certain fast food chain who have 'scrambled eggs' on their breakfast menu ;)
Yah it keeps them tender. And avoids areas over undercooked as well as over. I'd recommend this and after the 2 minutes 50 seconds add a knob of butter and swiss. Fantastic.
These are scrambled eggs, not fried (clue is in the title), but I think you missed the point of this video, which I explained at the start. Also, not everyone has a stove.

I'll be doing the same never cooked em this way so I'm firm believer in margin for error when making groceries
Nice! I like to add in some cheese about 3/4 way through, a bit of butter too! Stir frequently!
I used to put a few little tabs of butter in too
Never thought of using the wave!! Thank you
Best I've seen, looking forward to the morning!

Yeah that's the fool proof method and the texture is divine (chef kiss)
Milk makes them fluffy.
Geezzzz I could have painted my house by the time he took to cook them
‘allowing you to get on with something else......’
Ooh, now then, what else can I do for the next 2 minutes and 30 seconds🤔🤣
Saved me. Eggs expire soon but my stove doesnt come until February 5th. I wont waist any food. Thank you so much.

Mmm Cranberries, haven’t heard that song in awhile :-)
Thanks brother
. That's the first I've seen that really looks like hob scrambled egg but done in a microwave. I must have a go.
thanks for sharing. I've never heard of this, definitely trying it now.

I tried without milk and it over cooked ,I’ll try milk next time
Bang on 👏👏👏
Gordon Ramsey, eat your heart out!
Dude , it worked brilliantly , 3 eggs parfait ... Ty so much ... :>P
I microwave my scrambled eggs but I like them that 'rubbery dog shit' texture 😂😂😂
Never could eat the yolk before then.
Thank you! I think I could add a pinch of xanthan gum to help them solidify more easily.

@@neilgc4943 Thank you - that is good advice - I am on Keto eating plan:)
What if I leave them for longer
The only problem with this way is that pan-frying is easier.
Each to their own :)
True but I'm a trucker and cooking on the stove isn't exactly always an option so it's cool to see how I can make decent eggs in the mw
Agreed, pan fry simple and quick, but I don't have that option at the moment. That's why I'm even looking it up.
I stir mine every 30 sec. Takes about a minute for every egg , so 3 eggs - 3 mins.
I will try to do it

@@neilgc4943 how many watts is your microwave
@@FractXD I think this was an 850 watt. We've since replaced it and now have a 900w. It takes a fraction less time, maybe like 2m 45s.
good video!
Thank you.
This takes more time than cooking an egg the regular way. Change my mind.

What!? Scrambled eggs with no pepper!?!? Different strokes...
I use two eggs, cook for one minute, stir, then 10 seconds and done. Think he needs to do longer and fewer bursts.
You can cook it for 2mins and 30sec

Serpenyőben már rég kész lenne! Ez nagyon macerás, 4-szer, 5-ször visszatenni? Ugyan!

I know how to make eggs on the stove and microwave I’m just really bored
Only took you bowt 10 times😂😂
This is insanely longer than on the stove.
Great let the machine do the work
And no oil! That's a big plus. Oil isn't satiating and it's difficult for the body to use right away.

Not necessarily, but that's the good thing about scrambled eggs, they just need a little longer on the heat if too loose.
