As a Mcdonald’s employee i can say it is not beacuse of the patty. But because of the slice of cheese itself. We take cheese out an hour before we use it, but often it is busy so we forget to take it out. Another thing is that the cheese is placed on top of the iceburg which often is cold too.

I've experimented with the ingredients the chef pointed out in the recipe video and I can confirm that using sweet pickle relish, Heinz/Hellmann's mayo, Heinz's yellow mustard, sweet paprika, white vinegar, onion powder and garlic powder made it taste exactly as it does in a McDonalds Big Mac, I'm not sure the vinegar, sweet paprika or the garlic powder are necessary, but the absolute essentials in my opinion are the relish, mayo, yellow mustard and surprisingly enough, the onion powder.
The Big Mac sauce in the 1980s was amazing… 15 years or so later I had a Big Mac & the sauce was totally different. I think the one you are on to is the 80s/REAL version.

He said people who ate them everyday would notice, but most did not.

You can use mustard instead of French dressing and it’s actually better but it tastes more like McDonald’s if you use the French dressing

Over here in germany the company producing the bigmac sauce for mcd producez the same sauce just without the mcd exclusive spices for the supermarket without any indications that it is mcdonalds or bigmac related They also sell the 1:1 equivilent of sweet sour, bbq and curry sauce with unchanged recipy

In Va we had a chain of burger restaurants called Kenney Burger. Their tomato based sauce with pickle relish, mustard and spices made them famous. Sauce is available at area Krogers in pint jars for about $5. Its good on White Castle burgers. I always thought McD sauce was pretty much 1000 Island dressing.

I think McDonald copies VIP's Big Boy double burger with thousand island sauce. My dad took me to VIP burger restaurant in the fifties a lot and they had the Big Boy Burger long before McDonalds had the Big Mac.

I was an original worker at a McDonalds that opened in my home town in 1978. Every McDonald's was built over an Elephant and we had to jack it off daily to make the special sauce. At least that was the joke at the time. Also worms were not used in the meat because they cost 10 dollars a pound, and a hamburger was 50 cents. LOL, love bs about Mickey D's.
