  • Girl,when I'm alone with you
I get a feelin' through and through
Tellin' me that love is comin' on
My head starts spinnin' round and round
And I don't care what's up or down
Cause deep in my soul, I'm out of control
When I start to hear the sound of
    CHORUS :
    A heartbeat, it's a lovebeat
And a lovebeat is a good vibration
Oh, a heartbeat is a lovebeat
And when we meet , it's a good sensation
    Listen to my heart pound
    Listen to my love sound
    Feel it gettin' stronger
    Can't hold back any longer
    Heartbeat, it's a lovebeat
And a lovebeat is a good vibration
    Oh a heartbeat it's a lovebeat
And when we meet, it's a good sensation
    Listen
    Pictures pass before my eyes
    Like a vision in disguise
Tryin' to explain the way I feel
And there's a movement in my mind
    Like a rhythm counting time
    Breakin' down all my defenses
    Overcomin' all of my senses
    Listen to my heart pound
    Listen to my love sound
    Temp'rature is risin'
    Girl, there's no disguisin'

Don't get me wrong. I love the 70's, but the song is pretty lame, they can hardly dance, and the guy on the right has no rhythm at all.

@@SimirJohnson A nightmare . He was my neighbour growing up , he and his family were okay , not bad people and they did without some things and they worked at music . Many of us thought , they went at it the wrong way , they grabbed a fast pay day . Maybe if they tried something else , it would have not worked at all , at least they did something with their lives . Ed what have you done? The funny thing is I do not find Paul or Ringo on here or Cher , Madonna , Led Zeppelin making nasty remarks ,it is always the people , that have not , that say the most negative things.

I'm just a little older than that. (Born in 1956)...I remember seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Where I lived, Album Oriented Rock stations were just getting up and running. The big Top 40 stations in Pittsburgh were 1410 KQV (now defunct...sigh) and 1320 WKTQ (also known as 13Q, it's now a Music of Your Life Station...double sigh).
And you had to learn where the "big hit" stations from other cities were, because KQV and 13Q had to cut back their power at sundown, and their signal evaporated. Ah, memories.

I am from this era, and while watching this video it's true that I am reminded of just how cheesy the 70s could get, there is something more powerful going on. Listening to this song now, I am transported back to a time that I might never really be able to re-live otherwise. Magical, innocent, glorious (of course, I'm talking about my 11 year old appreciation of it. Your own experience may differ, and that's fine). This is the power of music: its ability to carry us effortlessly from where we are to where we used to be. Arguments about who is better or who imitated whom or whatever, are completely irrelevant. If, 40 years from now, my young son hears a cheesy pop ballad from 2015 and is overcome by a wave of nostalgia for some mythic moment in his own personal timeline, then it doesn't matter if it's Justin Bieber or the greatest musician the world has ever known. In the moment of remembrance, every song is our favourite song. This is true in every era and for every generation.

I still love this song and I am not afraid to admit it. This brings back so many memories as a kid in the 70's. We all wore bellbottom pants and platforms shoes in the early to mid 70's like they are wearing in the video. Looks funny now but in those days that was the style.

victorwasright LOL None of us dressed in outfits like that. Plus we are talking 1973, not 1975. Clothes styles changed dramatically during the 70's.One year was this, a few years later, no one was dressing like that. But most of us did wear bellbottom jeans and some wearing elevated or platform shoes, oh and t-shirts. The outfits that they wear in this video I am guessing was Hollywood's influence. The band was sent to LA when things started happening for them.

+martine mackenzie well that's a disturbing comment, it taints the ability to like this video. for some reason I believe you. I recently saw hey where are they now of Tony DeFranco, and he sang a couple of bars from the song, and honestly, he looked and sounded ridiculous, like he was trying to prove something or prove that he had something or never lost something or was one thing something or had never wanted something and was trying to prove it, but either way he looked and sounded very 4 stand very insincere, and very pathetic. In my opinion.

    • @nursehell1583
      @nursehell1583 8 років тому +2

+martine mackenzie and that you would take lol on to the end of your comment, is either almost or equally as disturbing as your comment and I believe both of them. Your comment about Tony and your lol comment about your character. I am very glad that I am neither of you. lol, lol, lol, lol, lol, lol! do you hear the sound of your heartbeat? Do you get it? For some stupid reason I like to crank that song though, and it's got a semi pleasing melody line but the heightened voice singing the meaningful words of a relationship or the longing of a relationship between a man and a woman or a male and female, sounds not only stupid and ridiculous, being sung from a preteen or an early team, but also sounds just as ridiculous and meaningless song from early Jackson 5 orderly Osmond Brothers, any early young uninformed voice that has never been in a relationship or even understands one singing the words of questioning and commitment and wondering, and philosophical type of reaching out, they are just so ridiculously stupid sounding, that that besides the melodic possible pleasantry of the actual too, the thought and the sound are ridiculously, let's just say stupid that might encompass pretty much of it. So anyway anybody who doesn't agree with me, hit me with your best poison dart blow gun shot.

+Nurse Hell It is a corny pop song for sure. I think no one should really takes the lyrics to these pops songs too seriously anyway. Most pure pop songs are like that. Listen to the lyrics to Silly Little Love Songs by Paul McCartney. Just as corny. If you compare pop songs from the 60's and 70's to pop songs today, many lyrics in pop songs today are just as corny. Today you have Justin Bieber with Where Are You Now and One Direction with Love You Goodbye. 15 years ago it was NSYNC with Dirty Pop, Before that NKOTB with You Got It (The Right Stuff) , in the 80's you had Lionel Richie with Say You, Say Me which has sophomoric lyrics The point of Pop music is to allow it to give you a good feeling. That's all it was really intended to do besides make tons of money for the record execs. Stop reading too much into pop music

When I grew up everybody around me had either 4,5,6,7,8,or 9 siblings. Now-a-days one is lucky to be an only child of a 45 year old single mother.
