    Ok, I have watched probably 15 videos and yours is the first one that clicked for me. Thank you! It's your explanation that the hook goes into the space from the chain 1 that clicked for me. Others say "space" but I couldn't quite tell which space since there's a bunch of them. LOL Thank you! I'm so excited to try making something now!

    Thank you for showing the stitch marker on the first stitch of the row! So many tutorials omit that, and learning it was a game-changer for me. Great video!

    Such a helpful video, thank you! I’m new to crochet and am working on a linen stitch project. I’m struggling with knowing if I’m starting and ending my rows correctly. No other video I’ve seen addressed this. But you nailed it. Clarity! And the tip to use color coded stitch markers to know which type of row I’m on? Simple genius. Yes, I just hit that subscribe button!

    Thank you for this excellent tutorial. Quick question - I’ve been trying to work a flat circle in this stitch, but can’t figure out the increases. Do you know of any linen stitch in the round tutorials? All the ones I’m seeing are they other type of “in the round”, where the fabric forms a tube or cylinder, rather than a flat circle. I know this video is several years old, so fingers crossed that someone is still listening! Thank you 😊

    Great tutorial. I don't know if you still check here but maybe someone else knows. In your pattern you say to turn then at the beginning of the row, chain 1. But in your video you chain 1 at the end of the row then you turn. Does it make a difference which way you do it?

    This is such a beautiful stitch but it looks much more delicate and refined when it's knitted. I do not knit, so I am wondering if I use a smaller hook and finer yarn, can I achieve a less chunky appearance? Thanks for the video!

    I loved your video....especially the suggestion to use markers to indicate the first sc in each row. However, there is one criticism I would like to share... as a beginner it would have been very helpful if you could have explained that the first row is not part of the repeat rows....rows 2 and 3 repeat, as it states in the written directions. After many trials, I did figure this out....as a knitter, I am still struggling with the ends of the rows and turning....Having said that, I certainly plan to return for new videos...thanks so much for getting me started and the great guidance...

    This is my favorite stitch! I love the look of the stitch, the patterning I can create with a specific number of rows using different colors! And the fabric it creates feels so lovely! I am curious about the name of the stitch. I learned it as the "moss stitch". Is this a different stitch, or is it two names for the same stitch? I love yarn you used for the pattern and just happen to have a ball of Red Heart Boutique Treasures in Abstract sitting right next to me. Almost as if it was meant to be. 😉 Awesome tutorial, and thank you so much!

    Marly; do you always work in your spaces instead of the stitch itself or does it depend on the pattern you're working?

    I am crocheting the cowl right now, but I really don't like the yarn, it has too much orange in it and I was hoping for pink and it's both soft and scratchy. Well I will find someone who will enjoy it. It is an excellent pattern and works up really fast.

    I working on a scarf with a very similar look. Have been crocheting looser than I normally would. My problem is that after a few rows it starts to lean. It's the Reversible Scarf on page 35 of the Leisure Arts Hats & Scarves book that I picked up at Walmart. Any reason why it wants to slant? Would send a picture if I could.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  7 років тому +1

      I don't have that book and I am not sure why yours is slanting. Are you keeping the correct stitch count?

    • @gwkenn
      @gwkenn 7 років тому

      Yes the stitch count is correct. Seems to be coming from the floater side. I'm not pulling it tight just lightly snugged up on side.

      @MarlyBird  10 років тому +2

      Vonda Sharrock oh,I am thrilled you like that! It is SO AWESOME! Little do you know but it is a shawl that has buttons at the end of the longest part so that as I wrap it around my neck I can pop it through the fantastic edging I did and it STAYS IN PLACE! I love it so much! The pattern is at my TE now and I hope to have it available in the next three weeks. Wouldn't things be a bit easier (i.e., no markers needed) if you start with an odd number of chains? That way, every row is identical to the one before...you always end with two sc and start with sc, ch1.

  • @valeriehofmann2615
    @valeriehofmann2615 5 років тому

    Couldn't you just leave the marker at the bottom? Its just showing which side your working? Not the row
