This place really needs to be protected and preserved. All the items in the shop are in fairly decent shape and someone needs to step up and take care of this property before it becomes vandalized. Thanks so much for sharing your incredible find!
I would clean it up and open as a historical Pharmacy
But not clean the medicine tubes or bottles so it looks real what you think?
They took everything that was valuable. They just didn't record it.
I wish you had gone slower and focused on the shelves so I could read the labels on those bottles better, as an RN I am very interested in those old meds!
Dave B. Same here!
what.the.fuck
Slow enough to catch a few of the more interesting ones. Especially the Erythritol tetranitrate.... Extremely powerful and volatile High Explosive they used to use as a vasodilator.
Dave B. I seriously wish they would've done the labels more slowly...
Dave B. Slow your video press "pause" and you see details as long as you want. Then continue on with play.
This old pharmacy with the residence attached reminds me of my grandparents' place. They moved into the house behind the general store/post office in the ghost town where my grandfather grew up. The owners had left the shelves and everything that hadn't sold in the front counter. Someone eventually stole the heavy, beautiful old cash register. We used to sneak jars of ancient cold cream, boxes of bandaids, and things like that to see what was inside. We felt like archaeologists.
All I can figure is that maybe that old guy in the snapshot ran the pharmacy and when he died, his family shut down the business but continued to live upstairs for a few years.
Owlzindabarn I think you're right! Was the person that was with Rob and Christy a descendant of the Pharmacist? He was showing them a lot and seemed to know where things were. Clearly it's been locked up and they had to get access.
Snapshot Grandpa was probably the owner, I agree on that point. I see it more, Grandpa closed the pharmacy in 78, but lived up stairs. The toys belonged to his grandchildren. Grandpa kicks the bucket, and the family doesn't know what to do with the house, so they just close it up.
I was able to find out the location of the place and did some research. Apparently this entire street is now deserted. It was once a prosperous tourist destination, before the shutdown of a certain railroad and the long decline of a company that took their toll. Later, in the 1990s "" enjoyed a brief revival, led by the owners of the now-shuttered cafe. A massive construction project to re-route Route "" which for years ran right down the middle of the once beautiful city has been rough on the businesses. This place is apparently open to other urban explorers, another UE took some beautifully eerie photos. Still there is no back story on the owner of this store.
@@Gia_Marie Can you please message me some info? I'd love to go document the location. I'm shifting gears from my usual published photography
@@Gia_Marie where is the location?
There are probably so many quaaludes in that safe.
Taragoola I was thinking the same thing lol
Taragoola Definitely the higher class of drugs would be in there.
For sure. Though what's considered to be higher class is different today than it was in the 70's. There's probably all kinds of crazy stuff just sitting out on the shelves.
Taragoola Absolutely! Some of the dangerous ones then are not now and vice versa. Some have just been removed from the market entirely.
They would be shit now, and probably make you sick.
this is an antique dealers dream...
Ghleehanna Leslie and a drug dealers dream... the ones that specialize in expired discount prescription meds
+Stephen S. The good stuff is long gone.
I'm wondering how it has not been cleaned out by a thief by now
I would bet that the pharmacy closed in 1976 but they continued to toss newer things in there just sort of a storage like thing. There were some old pharmaceuticals that are no longer used in there and some of them they have changed the ingredients. Others of them are still being used and are exactly the same. I'm sure some collectors and museums would love to have those items as they were in great shape! Enjoyed this video a lot!

@@Gia_Marie would you mind if i pm you?
Collectors heaven. There must be a small fortune there. Hell just the cardboard boxes alone.
Having worked in many pharmacies from the 1970's forward, I wish I could slow you down to read more of the labels. I recognized the nasal douche right away. Also curious about what vintage cosmetics and perfumes might have been left. Interesting place, thanks.
The boxes and bottles seem awesome. I just love all the antiques. Such a rare find!!
There is another video by Dark Explores I believe and he shows the bottles
I seen a few sedatives and muscle relaxants
Wow this is such an amazing find. It was so interesting seeing all the old stuff left behind. I saw quite a few toys that I had as a child. I love that you take your time showing us all the interesting things still there. What was the feeling of the place as you guys explored? I know sometimes it can be sad or depressing. Thanks so much for sharing this awesome find.
I want to sleep on the floor there and pretend I'm in the walking dead.
You got a new subscriber on this explore! I never thought the things I used in the 60's & 70's would ever be considered vintage. Where did the time go? Awesome photography. Thanks for the memories. 👍👍
Holy cow.. I owned that exact set of roller blades back in 1993. Funny thing was, I broke BOTH my arms on those stupid things roller blading down a hill in germany. After the screws came out of my arms, I put the little baggie with the screws on the laces and hung them on the wall. That was the end of that!
Ouch
worldtraveler Yes, I had those exact ones too!
ouch...yeah I had the white cast on my broken arm in 1997....it sucks
this is my absolute favorite find.. you guys are awesome I love exploring abandoned places!
You should do abandoned grocery stores
As Kristy said, alot of neat vintage stuff in that old pharmacy, wow what a great explore !. The apartment was in itself interesting as well with quite a few things left behind that you would think a person would take with them. You guys are the best, keep at it and thanks for sharing with us :)..
How was this place not raided since then? Someone could make a mint out of all the nostagia in there.
btw I work in a pharmacy so cool to see all the names of older drugs
ann sottile were you aware of the existence of nasal crack pipes?
Daniel Fultz They are now called Netti Pots. People use them when they have a sore throat, cold, etc to help clean out the bad bacteria with salt water. My mom uses them.
Atarax is still used today(2017) Gantrisin is discontinued but, under another name. Thephorin lotion a topical antihistamine and anesthetic type. Roeribec is a vitamin supplement of sorts. I won't list everything i looked up but it was fun to do.
I use Atarax.
I too use Atarax, or rather the generic version of same (hydroxyzine).
L. Ron Hubbard died with hydroxyzine in his system; Mr. anti-psychiatry. Hydroxyzine is used all day everyday in psychiatry. It's just an antihistamine, and it's junk, but they still insist on its use. Some patients love it. We typically just use the Vistaril version, which is a different salt base (hydroxyzine pamoate).
+Fcreceptor Interesting about L.Ron Hubbard.Patients that insist on it must just think it works.Give me any benzo over that stuff, preferably alprazolam.
I take Atarax lol
This is the best find I've ever seen!! Y'all just know so much about what you're finding and that's rare. There's so much to take in! Its literally untouched. Just wonderful!! Been subscribed to y'all for a while now, really enjoy all of the unique places you record and share.
that same tune get's really annoying and the panning gets so fast during the medicine shoots it blurs everything in picture for no reason, take your time, otherwise a great find.
muramasa24 Just wanted to comment that I love your channel pic and artwork at the top. Cowboy Bebop is the best Anime ever!
you ever hear of pause? I saw the same things.............slowed them down and paused to see the labels.......
Ever heard of getting slapped to the ground like a little bitch nigga for talking to me like that? Now kiss my ring before I change my mind.
The music is a it annoying it would give a more airy scary feel without it
Am I the only one who noticed the Jem doll hanging out of the dollhouse Barbie was in?
Starrlite77 Yes! I had that doll :)
Starrlite77 I noticed that, I miss those , Barbie & the rockers, Peaches & Cream.....
Yessssss!!!!
Yes lol It looled like she was propped up like that....a lot of cool toys and the popples comforter looked like new
Nope I noticed her right away too, then got the song stuck in my head lol
Those super soakers seemed like an anachronism in that pharmacy. Weren't those made in the 90's?
I even saw a tag in there with a 3 of 9 barcode on it! I bet it was a family run pharmacy that the owner passed away, and either didn't have relatives, or they just didn't/couldn't run a pharmacy.
*Phenaphen* was a headache medication that can be toxic to the liver. It was closely related to Tylenol, acetaminophen. *Donnatal* was an atropine (belladonna) often mixed with an opiate like codeine for diarrhea. *Dymelor* was a diabetes medication, it has been also discontinued as more effective medications were discovered. *Haldrone* is a corticosteroid used for skin problems, mostly. *Diamox* was used for altitude sickness, glaucoma and as a diuretic, to treat congestive heart failure was used to treat certain types of seizures.
*Hispril* is an anti-colinergic, similar to belladonna, Hispril is a controlled substance as it has some addictive and euphoric properties in some cases.*Stelazine* was used for psychiatric problems, usually psychosis, but it was used for other things like OCD, before medicine realized what OCD actually was. (It isn't a psychiatric issue, it's a problem with neurotransmitters and possibly brain function.)
*Witch Hazel* is an antiseptic and an astringent. It is used for everything from acne to hemorrhoids to treating women's perineum after childbirth.
*Calamine lotion* is made from a type of clay. When the liquid it is mixed with evaporates, you are left with the clay. It is used for skin irritations from poison ivy to eczema to chicken pox sores.
I couldn't read all the drug names, because the camera was panned too fast. It's weird, because some of those drugs were controlled substances and the DEA requires that pharmacies return or destroy all drugs if they go out of business. I'm a health care provider and love to look at old pharmaceuticals. I would have been geeking out there!
That apartment was beyond freaky. Lots of different ages of kids. I wonder if it was a foster home. But, with all those drugs only a few steps away? Yikes.
LCMary62 knowledge is so beautiful! Loved your comment! I would love to spend days there, reading and looking at everything!
LCMary62
What a nice place to visit. Time has stood still there. I live in the Netherlands,i have the idea that there are no such places here. Where you live, you have so much more space to discover. Wait with tension on the next movie. Many greetings from Bas van Buijtene,
wow I wish it could be a museam it is amazing that is a superb snapshot of history.
thank you so much for sharing x
Ruth Walton. Museum
Michele M some 70s stuff should be made again lol
There's literally no way I wouldn't take all the good stuff outta there in my backpack. No way.
Find some percocets
Molly, Percocets :)
DinehBee
had to laugh .. LOL! 😁
Hi Robb & Kristy, Another awesome find, I don't know how you do it but keep on keeping on.
As for the WITCH HAZEL we have both felt it's magic. We both have tattoos , in between inking they use that to cleanse the area, you know that wonderful cooling sensation you feel. Thats the WITCH HAZEL.I have to say thank God this place is untouched, those old drugs in the wrong hands could spell disaster . It really makes you wonder what the hell where they thinking. On that note you too are one of the best.PEACE-OUT! TILL NEXT TIME.
Feels great on hemorrhoids when you have them popping out of your ass making you want to scream
Two questions how long did it take to get in the safe and once you got in what did you find?Because you didn't just walk away your only human.
Haha I know there's no way I would be leaving without knowing what was inside either lol
Well Joe we know your morals now.
It's amazing to me that people actually think these "explorers" don't pick pieces from these finds - as if when the camera goes off, they just disappear or something. lol Every time an "explorer" video comes on, I notice ebay starts listing items *from* those locations, in multiple accounts.
This was amazing! Frozen in time. Lots of great finds and antiques. That fridge looked to be very clean and in very good condition.
This is probably one of my favs! You are both truly brilliant in what you do and you can tell you so appreciate your surroundings when in the midst of it all! Stay safe! x
Damn this place has more stuff than a WALMART... Drugs, Beer, Tires, Fireworks, Instant Cameras, more Beer
This could be cleaned up and restored and kept as a museum. It's a time warp. Not so very long ago but each passing day makes the record of "A Neighborhood Drugstore and Pharmacy of the 1970's". Btw, I graduated from high school in 1970 and when the guy held up the condom in its package I flashed back that in those high school years, as minors we couldn't easily buy those things! A person had to ask for them and in a small town like I grew up in, you ran the risk that the pharmacist or the busy body old clerk might know your parents and TELL THEM! Astounding in the crazy 60's and 70's! Oh, and a girl pretty much never asked for them. Ahhh, the good old days--not!
I really enjoyed this find!!!! There were alot of things that were left there that were worth alot of money being vintage, loved the old makeup. So cool!!! Really enjoyed this one of my favorites. Thanks.
Always love your videos.Great find here, some very interesting stuff. Great job of describing things around you. Keep up the great job!!
Really love your videos but I kind a wish you would stop with the background music. I always have to turn it down. I don't really want to listen to depressing/creepy music just because I'm looking at an abandoned building. Kinda bums me out.
I love the music!! It could be worse, I've heard some super shitty music in other people's videos.
got to agree the creepy music doesn't bother me, b the volume going way up, and having to contently be turning it up and down does. please fix this
I was just thinking exactly the same
I don't mind the music being 'depressing/creepy', although in my view its not depressing at all and not that creepy either. It's called creating an atmosphere and when done properly gives depth to the video. I think Dan Bell is a genius at using music this way, his videos are so atmospheric that they make you feel like you're right there with him in whatever abandoned building hes in - it's incredible! However I don't think that Rnk are on the same level as Dan Bell.
Sometimes I use creepy music on my videos, it creates a unique vibe
I don't know how you can explore that whole place and not clean it up. I am twitching just watching it lol.
RobertJ1966 ocd sucks.
I'm probably going to lose sleep over this place.
Go get help for your OCD. No hate.
thank you for showing all that retro. vids like this make me sad. when you over think about the scene looking like an elderly person staying as long as they could as their mind decays clinging to memories of lost love and family just walking out.
Wow this is an outstanding video, just seeing all that beautiful vintage items. Is truly amazing, it's like a real time capsule. Very sad that it's all going to be broken up by vandalism, i truly love this video. I just told my wife, as we both watched this, we hope that some one. Stores all that in a safe place, excellent video.
Please learn a chord ...that plunk plunk plunk will drive You crazy ...
That place is in excellent shape for having been abandoned for 40 years. And the super soakers do not go back to the 70s. They first came out in 1990.
This is such an awesome explore. Just found your channel and I'm hooked. Can't wait for future content!
Hey guys... I just subscribed to your channel not long ago and hit the "bell" button so I could get all of your notifications, soooo, to make a long story short, I am binge watching some of your older vids today... Love this one...
Definitely the Best of Any that I've seen. Wish this vid was longer.
What a great find. Really one of your best videos so far. I wonder what happened that they left everything behind.
Also, I worked in a pharmacy starting in 1979 and that's pretty much what the stuff in it looked like, down to even the old register. It was clean of course while we were open. I worked there for almost ten years. You guys DEFINITELY took me through the wayback machine. Thanks for bringing the memories back. At one point we got rid of alot of the older stuff that they no longer used (no drugs) and I still have them almost 40 years later and yes they are some very rare kinda almost like what you'd consider "museum" material kinda things.
Pickers wet dream. You guys are my favourite of the urban explorers, I really appreciate the respect you show the homes/places and Rob’s seemingly genuine interest in everything, especially architecture and items from a bygone era. That being said I’d have a hard time not filling my truck before I left 🤷♀️ Keep up the great work.
Do you seriously think they didn't? lol
Thank you for opening the fridge. Soon as I saw it I said you better open that fridge and you did. I would of threw my keyboard if you did not. These videos and music always remind me of the documentary plagues & pleasures of the Salton Sea.
odd there is not much dust, I really noticed it in the kitchen.
By far your best post yet and easily one of the best abandoned sites ever. i so so wish you had gone slower and in more detail through the meds as they are so fascinating as to what a chemist was like back in that era. Any chance of going back?
Love watching thank you for letting us in on your exploring !
This has got to be one of the coolest videos I've watched here on UA-cam.
The Duck-tails Book at 7:21 is from 1987 at the earliest. You can tell because you can see Launchpad's leg and he didn't join the crew til the late 80's
As a pharmacist, I was very interested in this video and have watched it twice. Nice work and quite a mystery as to what really happened. I work in a pharmacy that's from 1928 and we have some cool old stuff but nothing like this. Superb video
This pharmacy is a TREASURE TROVE! There's a fortune in vintage products and marketing alone. Great job and I hope no one ever disturbs this wonderful place.
1977? DO NOT use those condoms!
Hahaha for real
LMAO 🤣
That guys heavy breathing when you said 'its prolly some kinda crazy drugs' had me laughing lol cook vid
My husband is a retired pharmacist (PharmD) and he just LOVED THIS!!! Thanks you guys!! Great job....
I want to ad.. A lot of that stuff is for compounding special prescriptions. A pharmacist years ago (and some now) had a compounding license.. The safe may have contained 99percent pure cocaine!!!!! A compounding pharmacist years ago would have made something from the cocaine called "bromptons". It was for the horrible pain.
....of cancer....
I want that Popples sleeping bag! I noticed Glitter and gold Jem as well ! also love the vintage Max Factor makeup too !❤️
some of those advertising posters are worth 1000 of dollars. (Hint the coors coors is worth buckets in the right hands)
Ah those days are gone!! I remember taking emulsion Scott's vitamins and oh boy the flavour was horrible! from the coughing medicine to penicillin. I remember going to the pharmacy where the doctor was the owner after checking that we were healthy he used to give us tootsie pops cherry flavour. Delicious! !
Nicoletta Ciccone i too remember those wonderful days when times seemed safe.
Joe Livingthegoodlife Thank you for replying. I miss those days so bad. 🐝🐝Stay happy...
Joe Livingthegoodlife: Times "seemed" safe. Remember Ted Bundy?
Wow what a great find ! Thanks for the memories of the old toys & meds, my grandfather was a pharmaceutical rep & I remember a lot of that old medicine. Sick & crazy video 👌🏻💜💚
At 03:03 I see an old sewing maching with the cast iron stand, still in the shipping crate. Wow. -- Every time I pass one of these old pharmacy/General Stores in NC I want to stop and go in SO BAD.
If I had tons of money I would buy that place and salvage most of the items in there. Some of those items are worth lots in value.
This needs to be a museum :)
a TOTAL Time Capsule of a place. I would love to photograph the old products of bottles and boxes! Great find and explore!
3:52 I’ve got that shopping cart for my kids! Got the matching basket too! Had it for 4 years now! Great toys for my young children!
did I see that dude drink that old ass medicine....naw. he had to be playing around! !
Angela Collier I thought I saw him take some swigs.
👀
Sodium fluoride- kills pests (but it's perfectly safe in your municipal water supply!)
Exactly!! Man humans are really dumb sometimes. That caught my eye. The city workers say there is,skull and crossbones on the bags that are for municipal water systems. Our city just started the removal of it from our water thank God.
I had to rewatch the portion of the video several times just to make absolutely sure that I wasn't imagining it. My grandfather worked for a municipal water supply way back in the day. According to my father, they didn't inform anyone in the city that they were adding fluoride until a few weeks after the program began.
Also, if you ingest the fluoride in your toothpaste, call a poison control center immediately. If you drink fluoridated water, however, everything is just peachy.
Andrew Ryan
bizarr-o world I hear ya!!
Andrew Ryan I love the smell of fluoride in the morning!!
hey you just stole my line!! thats what i said...how is it common knowledge back then that it kills shit...but today youl be called crazy for even asking that question? News and TV and commercials are literally brain washing tools...i remember in kindergarden they were passing this liquid fluoride out to the students...we would literally stop eveything we were doing for fluoride time.....i never took mine....there was just something strange to me even as a child watching the whole class swishing this nasty shit around in their mouths for 3min silently like brain dead sheep...i never participated past the first taste and spit it out all over the table
This is the best! What a find. Wonderful job showing everything. So strange they left all that. You can’t get drugs like that anymore.. By far my absolute favorite. Everything was done with perfection.
Wow, wish I could go picking there, my daughter is a pharmacist and loves old pharma collectibles.
Another cool vid,Thanks RnK All Day!!!
thanks!
RnK All Day this is a cool video bro
The music is awful
mute it
I love the music, goes perfect with the setting!!
Got to disagree, it reminds me of System of a Down or maybe Tool and it does add to experience. Volume going up and down constantly was a minor irritation though.
And so are you.
That was Amazing 😉 Love all the vintage and old medicine..pretty Awesome 👏
I love all the explanations for witch hazel. Witch hazel is used for many, many thing, it's a very gentle but effective astringent, essentially. And can be used in any numbers of ways to that effect. I always keep a huge bottle of it and use it as a daily toner for my fave. It's really good at cutting down excess sebum on your fave and tight I g and shrinking pores without drying you out. But that's from a girl's perspective. Like I said, it can be used so many, many ways.
This was a really cool one. Thoroughly enjoyed.
checkout homeboy at 9:15 taking a sip of cough syrup
john pothews good eye! lmao
sizzurp
Funny... good catch ! That old junk could kill him !
I noticed that, both of the dudes look like dope heads
I noticed you vape and make videos about it...you have to be one of the coolest people on youtube!
What would make people rush off and leave all of their stuff?!?! Tho older explores are the best!!!
Death.
Lady Flu Or got killed
the two of you do very nice work... wonderful editing. keep up the great vids and cool places
Lots of value right there, and a lot of antiques that need archiving.
I was born 3 days after May the 8th 1978 I dont feel as old now lol
That store grand open in 1947 no body take over they passed away in 1980
How do u know?
Mike Donato what state is it in and town
santinarosel parksville, ny
That's so cool that u know that... U must have gone there when it was open!!!
Fabulous wood trim in the Greek Key style. I enjoyed see the display items and lights with the neon spelling out words. Good stuff, good camera shots. I do agree with many of the people commenting that a bit of a slow down would be helpful because it made me dizzy. And I missed cool stuff. Thanks for another great find.
It’s amazing what you can find in an old store like that. My mom’s parents had a hardware when she was little and even when I was little. When we closed the store after my grandfather died, he had stuff from the 1950’s. We might even have some dated stuff.
This was the first video I watch from you guys. From that moment I was hooked on your channel. During this COVID-19 pandemic you guys have help me with my anxiety. Thank you. I love, your video.
where is this place?
William Litzinger corner of Main Street and Short Ave. in Parksville, NY
Fantastic explore! What a great find!
Amazing! Awesome again. That Ace sump pump box is definitely more current than 1978. Maybe someone's been in trying to mitigate the damp and make sure the place stays solid. I think super-soaker 200s date from about 1990. Besides the rollerblades and 1999 trophy, Silly Slammers (that thing in the dish drainer) were 1990s too. Decorations and furniture looks very PA.
Some of these drugs are no longer used in the US and some had Ephedrine in them and were barbiturates...
Thanks For Journey !
9-11 on the stopped clock.
Great video, love your work. looking forward to more great things from you guys. be safe.
I absolutely LOVE your explorations! Your channel is my new obsession. I'd be willing to volunteer to go on an exploration with you guys anytime! Keep up the great work! :)
By the way, those old light bulbs can be worth a lot of money!!!
HappyQuails almost everything!!!
I would love to know the story of this. Why leave all of it behind? There has to be a family member or even a friend. I saw cool toys too, the ninja turtle the peoples comforter, loved that cartoon. That's all worth money and should be preserved somewhere.
Popples comforter, lol dam correction thingy.
liz gonzalez I would love to know how this stuff sat there for 40 years untouched. You'd think the pharmacy part at least would have been ransacked. That implies the place was locked up pretty good. But then how did they waltz in so easily?
The Popples products date to when I was a little girl in the '80s!! I still have one of my stuffed Popples in storage!
liz gonzalez ninja turtles was post 77 '(after1977)

You two find the most unique places. Love this. Thank you
This is way cool! Loved this one ! Such a step back in time..😎
All the way through this video, I just couldn't help but reflect upon a post shark episode of Happy Days, where the husband character is forced to close up shop when the big retails out priced him into bankruptcy. It's like the '70s owner(s) just gave up, locked up and never looked back. The land owners never bothered to do a thing, though? Maybe the pharmacy owner did own the land, too???
Most of the time when you own something you own the land that it sits on too
That was such a great place. I can remember growing up in the 70's and our drug stores were like that one. No big chain Pharmacies around back then, Pharmacist used to have to mix most of the medications themselves. I'm surprised that it didn't have a Soda bar in there. All the ones from back then we used to visit always had a counter where you could sit down and have a fountain soda or Ice cream. What an interesting place though. I can't believe so much stuff was still there. Great find guys. I really enjoyed that one. Excellent videography as well.
Whoever lived there had to have been staying there up until the early 1990s. I recognized a LOT of the toys that were on the shelf around seventeen minutes in (most of them were kids' meal toys from McDonalds and Burger King). Seeing those brought back a flash of nostalgia!
One of your best videos, enjoyed watching this one a lot, a lot of cool finds, shame it's all going to waste just sitting there, this amazing, beautiful place is awesome!
