Your gift from Josh is not only a very beautiful piece but also has lots of personal sentiment attached. Josh is such a caring and loving soul. He will go far in this world. And the world will be blessed to have him here!!
Absolutely beautiful work of art Josh created! I had no idea the leaves were spoons, even when he got up close, lol. Then when he said it, I was like "Oh ya, that's so cool!"
Love the Cameos and being English I love the Wade Brooch( I have the same one) and the coin bracelet. We used to call those coins thrupenny bits. Love the tree Josh made. I watch his channel ( usually his lives in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. ) Going to watch his video on making the tree now.
The tree sculpture is absolutely beautiful, so unique, and I love the personal touch of only using things that you've given him. It could hold its own in any London gallery ❤
It was special watching him make it too, and seeing the love he put into it as well as the time and effort. I’ve watch Josh on your show for years and I’ve seen the relationship grow between you guys, you really respect each other and share a special bond.
@@tamaralong-partei6129 Spoons have been a symbol of love all over Europe for hundreds of years. Historically a courtship custom, a man would carve a small spoon out of one piece of wood and present it to a girl as a gift. If she accepted the spoon, it was taken as a token of engagement to be married.
You are did find a lot of nice items for the jewelry slot at the auction!!! I bet most people do not realize how much work/time is actually put into to make a super auction for yourself!!! Although the interest stays high to keep having auctions, because every auction brings in new items!!! I really Ike your career!! Head boss and it isn't 9 to 5 everyday!!! Plus the videos are great watching your findings each time!!! I hope you all have a Great Week ahead!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
If you haven’t watched already. Josh did a video making the art piece and how he measured the nook space with his arms. Since he forgot his measuring tape. He is so talented
I had a feeling you would leave empty handed. He had too much stuff so it was obvious he loves his ginormous collection of everything! Wowza! Somehow I missed this old video. Thanks Alex.
The art piece by Josh Alexander is phenomenal. He is unbelievably talented. By the way, the beaded necklace is Italian and it’s called millefiori beads. It’s very pretty.
The carved white beads are probably ivory. I have something similar from my grandmother. That tree sculpture is beautiful. Josh is so talented. I hope Melissa keeps those items. Those birds are older than you might think and superb.
I actually saw Josh’s episode about this gift first and I’m really happy to see it again on yours. I love how you and him kept these items out of the landfill and then he turned it into one of a kind artwork and incredibly sentimental meaningful gift. You two truly show how someone’s trash is another person’s treasure👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow, that tree is gorgeous and fits that niche perfectly. What a skilled artist Josh is! I love seeing the jewelry and will have to watch the auction for a few pieces
Josh is not only extremely talented guy he has a great sense of humor. Always laughing and joking in spite of his serious brain problems and is very generous and pleasant to watch. His is a good friend. Donna/MIchigan
How blessed are you both for having such a beautiful sculpture made for your new home. Josh is incredibly talented. What a great idea for Josh to use all of the trash from your home clear outs!!
I love the tree sculpture Josh did! That was so thoughtful of him to use things from your house cleanouts. I'm enjoying watching you go through the jewelry with Melissa. There are some interesting pieces.
Joshua is a great artist,I love the things he makes..this tree is fantastic!😍 The beads are actually called Millefiori. Normally you see the “thousand flowers”,which ofcourse is the translation for Millefiori, in glass and they’ll have more depth. But I think you and Melissa already knew all this.😊 Unbelievable how much beautiful jewelry you found..and super sweet you kept the birds brooch and the tiny mouse separate for Melissa.🙏🏻🥰
I’m 82yrs old and have been searching for 'ev ‘va to find the origin of the spoon. Thanks to Josh I now know that they grew on trees!😳 🥳 🤩 🌴 🍃 ✨ ⚡️🎉‼️From NH, Patricia 👵🏻 🤗.
Thank you for putting something aside for Melissa. I don’t know why I’m so proud of her when she decides to keep something…but…I always am so proud of her. She deserves it💖💜💖
Dear Archbold couple. 👍👌👏 Congrats for finding all the jewelry. 2) The "Spoonsai" is an awesome piece of art done by an extremely talented friend of yours. It fits perfectly! Not only the niche (despite the special elbow measurement!😁) but also because it's recycled/upcycled stuff out of your hoarder house projects. It was quite a big effort to put the "Spoonsai" together (Josh mentioned 13 hrs). Congratulations for having this beautiful piece in your wonderful house now. Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.
I am so proud of Josh in all he does. He put so much thought into his creation, using your materials from different explorations that you gifted to him. There’s so much history and memories that will live on that you share through your videos for your family. This fine piece of art was hand made and signed by a true artist from his heart, and a honest loyal friend for life.
What a beautiful tree Josh made you and yes it looks perfect there. The birks ring box I bought myself at a antique show and love it. I noticed with the better jewelry the boxes were all the same. You must buy them in bulk to help you sell the jewelry.
03:49 Button hook, not laces. 04:28 likely bone. Older ones were ivory, but a lot of places ban ivory sales so regardless it's "bone". 😁 The coral rose earrings had silver posts - costume metal for sure. The RCA cufflinks may have been for a sales manager rather than a buyer. There probably aren't many around. 13:55 Italian millefiore. NICE. (the mouse...here Chewie!) The old pins and ballerina pieces were a "thing", late 40s to late 50s. Possibly into the 60s. 17:25 French (probably) glass, and OLD if it's that small. Women were smaller back when and 12 or 13 inch chokers weren't rare. 19:33 French plastic Melissa-nabbed pin, probable 1920s. Trombone clasp and all. Sometimes called "french ivory" if it's celluloid. Josh's tree thing...NICE.
Josh, that is an outstanding metal sculpture!! My hubby wanted to know why I gasped at the video! I told him I just saw the most beautiful metal sculpture! Alex you seem to attract very cool, talented, nice people into your life! As always, I love watching these reveals!
Josh is so kind and very talented! The items you want to throw out are the kind of things I love finding so I can use my restoration skills to make them fresh and new again. I am sure others would love to buy a small box of miscellaneous items to tinker with.
Nice stuff. I love the nurses' watch, since I was a nurse. Josh's sculpture is beautiful and it looks fantastic there. He is such a kind and caring person. It's special how he personalized it with pieces from the cleanouts. I'm happy he came into your (and our) life.
Josh does amazing artwork! Love the Spoosai tree, it is perfect for the space & it is beautiful! Thanks for showing us the jewelry, Melissa and Alex! Lots of nice stuff! 💚🕊️💕
Italian micro mosaics is called tesserae, gold plating over silver is called vermeil, the necklace with the rose carved beads is either ivory or , bakelite or celluloid. If I hear anything else as I watch that could be helpful I will add to. The amber set is not really a set. I would sell them separately to me the most money. You did mention the earrings are huge , I think they would best be used separately as pendants. I think lots of people will be interested in your auction. I once bought a small tub of junk jewelry with a coin bracelet in it. The coins turned out to be Venezuelan gold coins totaling to an ounce of gold. I paid $6 American for the tub. Wonderful find.
A nice “remedy” to use if you’re having to untangle necklace chains…put a drop of oil (baby oil, coconut oil, vegetable oil, the thicker the better) on the knot and start to gently rub the oil in. You’ll see the chains start to separate and the knots will loosen so it’s easier to untangle.
That bird brooch is a 1920-1940 French art deco piece my grandma use to wear one just like that. If your wife doesn’t want to keep it I’d happily buy it. It’s a stunning piece. ❤
Joshua created a beautiful piece of art for your home and you will always remember it from all the adventures and house clearing outs you worked on. He is a talented artist, a special person and even more so, a wonderful friend! Very nice work! (and all the work that you do too Alex!
The RCA cufflinks were given originally to RCA dealers for selling large quantities. My dad had a set and a tie pin! He never wore unless going to the distributor buying parties
I watched Josh's first so I knew you were getting this awesome tree art. I am glad you found some valuable jewelry that last house clean out looked more tedious than profitable up till now. Costs of dumpsters brought your whole bottom line way down. I hope you can make some bucks on it all. That was a lot of work.
Josh is a very talented artist. Beautiful piece. You probably already do this, but artisans and crafters love bits and pieces of broken and discarded jewelry so a group of that placed into a lot would be a great addition to your auction.
Last year I sat with my 90 year old mother and went through a few of her jewelry boxes. Her stories were wonderful 💛 She blessed me with a few great treasures. One was a delicate silver watch she wore when she was young.
Alexander, It's so good to see Josh out and about, I hope he is OK, because I have been watching a long time and know what he's been through. From the first box you pulled out a vintage Murano Millefiori graduated beaded necklace that is probably worth at least $120 US. Look it up before you throw into the grab box.
I have recently found your channel and I live it. This jewelry is so great. I love looking at old jewelry. The things you find tell a story about this person's life. Thanks so much. I also enjoy when your wife and kids help.

The Millefiori necklace with the teardrop pendant is most likely Italian. The earrings with coral also have a jade stone. The clasp on the purse probably has sapphires. Thanks for the Sunday night video!
It is amazing! Spoons as leaves and the other materials from finds of other clean outs. Incredible Josh what a tremendous artistic design it's one-of-a-kind and that says it all about your friendship. Also it goes to say how true the phrase is; "One Man's junk, is another man's treasure."
My father bought me that same white carved necklace in 1962 when he was stationed in South Korea and I was in 7th grade (he may have bought it on a side trip to Japan). It came with a matching bracelet and earrings. I wore these on my wedding day.
What a beautiful tree for your nook!! Josh does such wonderful work!. It's always interesting to go through jewelry collections. I like looking at the costume as well as the antique pieces!

Love your videos! The glass necklace looks Italian and the clasp is a trombone clasp. So cool!
What is the name of Josh's channel.
I'd love to check it out.

That sculpture from Josh is really lovely. He did a fantastic job and it does sit just perfectly in the space. A great unique piece.
If you haven’t watched already. Josh did a video making the art piece and how he measured the nook space with his

He is so talented
The thing you called a lace tightener is actually called a button hook and was used to do up buttons both on shoes and clothing.
Ring box? I thought inkwell, surely.
@@FigaroHey definitely ring box. That's what my aunts engagement ring came in.
Joshua is a fantastic artist. Love the spoonzi 👌🥰🙏
I came on to say the same..button hook
This comment and the spermicide cup comment has me rolling in laughter.

Beautiful spoonsai art piece!! What a wonderfully artistic and gifted young man!
Josh's tree is amazing. Great to see his work.
Josh is extremely talented artist, sculptor, woodworker, youtube creator. ❤
I love when Melissa joins you for unboxing.
I was hoping when Alex said Melissa was going to embarrass him , that he was going to admit to having been told what a diaphragm is for. 😂😂😂
That tree that Josh made is AMAZING 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
A non artist sees what things are, an artist sees the potential of what they can become.
Love Josh’s bonsai tree!!!

Not really a gift - it was a commissioned piece for which Alexander paid him.
Oh nice, a spoon bonsai. Josh is a real artist!

I remember the scatter pins we used to wear in the 50s
Could that necklace with the green leaves and red berries possibly be jade and coral?
Love Josh's bonsai tree. What a talented artist.
I thought those were supposed to be raspberries but I have no idea what material was used to make them.
I was thinking Lucite or bakelite.
