      Great!
      Saw them at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on there late 80’s comeback tour… It was fantastic! I would love to have seen them the decade earlier, though.

      Interesting moment in time. All the elements were in place. Rick even has the checkered Hamer. They were three albums in by this time and still an opening act. Just waiting for the breakthrough that turned out to be Budokan.

    Great to see Cheap Trick at this time of their career. Budokan was recorded but not released, yet... Something big was happening in the background!!! Thanks for sharing this live show. Best regards from Australia 👍

    Opening for Foreigner. Great double bill for your 1978 Concert Dollar. Cheap Trick always was up to the task of taking on the "Headliner". I Wonder if Foreigner's set on video survived, or it is boxed up in some 70 year old ex- Summit Arena video crew member's ' garage deteriorating with other great treasures?

      One video I would kill for is of PIPER at the Largo Capital Center late December 1977. They were opening for KISS and KISS' performance was professionally videotaped. Leads me to believe so was PIPER'S set. Especially since Bill Aucoin was managing both bands.

    • @romelovesdan
      @romelovesdan 2 роки тому +1

      @@MarceloRomero360 Both Capitol Centre in Largo MD and The Houston Summit in Texas had 'state of the Art' video systems and would offer the bands copies if they desired. If you look closely, most 1970's-85 live videos are from these venues. Yes, Piper would be cool to see. Bill Aucoin sold alot of memorabilia before his passing. That video has seemingly not shown up in collector's circles yet. Unless we have a 'horder' holding it close to the vest.

    • @MarceloRomero360
      @MarceloRomero360 2 роки тому +3

      @@romelovesdan I agree. You'd think if it even existed it would've been bootleged, on youtube, etc. Bill Aucoin would've been the go to, but I'm sure someone who worked in those arenas back in the 1970s would have kept a u-matic master or Beta. Keep in mind the venues used their in house video for insurance purposes. I can't help, but think somewhere, in some dusty storage room there exists a live concert video of PIPER. It took 2 decades for the KISS "I" promo video to show up in fan circles, so I have hope for PIPER.👍

      @@MarceloRomero360 My motto to you and all.....never toss a VHS or other video format tape/reel out without checking it out. Search Flea markets and ask relatives to look through closets and attics. Once this history is lost and turned to flaking dust, it is sadly gone forever!

      I bought a couple of tickets for this one gig for 2015 and it was where the wives; mistresses and kids were sitting okay? Great deal- horrible show- nothing older than the usual fare and hits only. Tommy’s half junked out of his mind when he played a 12 minute Dylan song We could’ve done without instead say had they wanted to fit in a few more original numbers and I went out to purchase a t-shirt which they were selling for $35 just that same logo since 1976 I imagine, but hey? Why not fit an extra one in coming back from Canadian territory through Boston Massachusetts, right? I loved those guy who used to want to play the greatest shows in their lives circa @‘ 90’ s I think they forgot whereabouts they’d come outta. KISS certainly didn’t taking them along with them either due to those lyrics in Surrender, but who am I to say that about the same guys I used to really love. Still opening for other bands in Sept 78 even though Budokan was released in Japan the next week.
    WL Promo of some of those tracks got a buzz going and 6 months later it was released in USA even though DP was already recorded.
    Summer of 79 it became a huge hit and IWUTWM re-entered the set.
    Note it isnt here.
    Late 79 (after school started and word of mouth marketing took hold) and they exploded.
