I had ELOs first 2 albums before anyone else in my little podunk hometown of 800 people of Marcola Oregon could spell the name of the band. This is truly classical Rock and Roll.
Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra from The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame site: "Picking up where the Beatles left off, ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations. ELO added an exciting mix of elements into rock and roll, including disco rhythms and electronic studio wizardry. Imagine a marriage of tuneful, rocking pop songs with instruments from the symphonic realm, and you’ve got the blueprint for what made ELO one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and beyond. Jeff Lynne, ELO’s vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, co-founder, and frontman, conceived of a rarefied musical sphere in which cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop. The result: ELO’s boundary-breaking approach to rock that resonated with a global audience, both as a pop singles act and as album-oriented rockers with deep-track appeal".
I just commented on a video from yesterday about this. Apparently, the theme song is Jeff Lynne's favorite song he wrote. I don't think the movie is especially good but it is a trip.

E.L.O, Jeff Lynn, is an excellent band, with a fantastic lead singer, writer, performer. PLEASE, PLEASE react to some Moody Blues!! Most especially, The Voice(at Red Rocks or the studio version) Question, Tuesday Afternoon(my all-time favorite M.B. song), The Story In Your Eyes, Isn't Life Strange, I Know You're Out There, one that you probably know "Nights In White Satin", or any Moody Blues song 🎵 Happy day to you, Jamel :) Y'know, I know it's odd, but I consider you a friend, in this world. A kindred spirit if you will. We have a lot of the same ideas about kindness, friendship, joy, and love for your fellow human being! We also have a lot of the same music taste and appreciation 😃
Hi Jamel! "During the instrumental break in the song, when the synthesizer plays, right before the chorus starts up the second time, if you play it backwards, you can actually hear the synthesizer sound that plays in another song by the Electric Light Orchestra: "Nightrider." The line "There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in," was inspired by the Beatles song, "Fixing a Hole."
You probably already know this: In 1988, Jeff Lynne got together with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Tom Petty to form "The Travelling Wilburys". They made some pretty good music together until Orbison's passing away. Great reaction!
You light up with recognition so often that many times we are watching reactions to songs you're already familiar with. That's all fine and good, but there are also countless wonderful, amazing songs that you've never heard before, just waiting to be listened to for the first time.
You've got to react to at least one ELO live at Wembley 2017 just to see the size of the crowd and their reaction. Plus Jeff can still sing!! I suggest Turn to Stone to see the light show as well.
"There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in" is a Beatles reference ."Fixing a hole where the rain comes in. Stops my mind from wandering...where it will go" from Fixing a Hole. ELO - Fire on High
I totally agree with you. That's the only concert that I've seen her with him. She compliments him so well. It seems like other live performances I've been able to see sometimes there's so much harmonizing in so many voices it kind of overwhelms or takes away from his voice Jeff Lynne, that is I love when they get a shot of the audience and everybody is singing and dancing it's like a multi-generational thing too good to see good to hear. Classic and timeless.
Hmmm...have to disagree. Bloom was off the rose by the time of Breakfast...all the albums leading up to that release I can get behind...B. In America...not so much
It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity and commercially, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is much better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Please Tour in 2022!!!
Jeff Lynne , the man who never ages or changes style. He's 72 and still sounds fantastic. And the Production is amazing. Elo's just amazing!

I know how you feel. I thought, forever that Strange Magic was Space Magic. LOL And I also invented all kinds of reasons why it was so. LOL
Glad to know that I wasn't the only one that thought it was medieval woman. Still sounds like that is what he is saying.
At my local airport here ,they've been playing just the 80s over and over, for at least 1 year now .Even at our local H.E.B. grocery store ,theyve been playing oldies too and love, love ,love it !
Jamel: Please do _Booker T and the MG's - Green Onions_ *LIVE* Norway 1967.
GREAT CALL
Yes yes yes Green Onions
Great tune!
Bet he's heard it but just doesn't know he has..yet
Yep!
I am so fucking in love with Jeff, since I was 19!! He still makes me say naughty words...
Live from Whembley stadium concert is probably has the best of all live versions.
E.L.O, Jeff Lynn, is an excellent band, with a fantastic lead singer, writer, performer.
PLEASE, PLEASE react to some Moody Blues!! Most especially, The Voice(at Red Rocks or the studio version) Question, Tuesday Afternoon(my all-time favorite M.B. song), The Story In Your Eyes, Isn't Life Strange, I Know You're Out There, one that you probably know "Nights In White Satin", or any Moody Blues song 🎵
Happy day to you, Jamel :)
Y'know,
I know it's odd, but I consider you a friend, in this world. A kindred spirit if you will. We have a lot of the same ideas about kindness, friendship, joy, and love for your fellow human being! We also have a lot of the same music taste and appreciation 😃
Love ya, Jamel !
Gonna keep aggravating you til you react to
THE BABYS
*Isn't It Time
*Every Time I Think Of You
Pleeeeeeeease🎵🎤
Please please please! He's gunna love the clothes too
YES TO BOTH SONGS!
Omg Yes!!!
Yes Yes and YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Babys "Falling" is amazing, too, like the other songs you mentioned.
So glad you're doing ELO!! Saw them last year, and yes! They were outstanding!!
Hi Jamel!
"During the instrumental break in the song, when the synthesizer plays, right before the chorus starts up the second time, if you play it backwards, you can actually hear the synthesizer sound that plays in another song by the Electric Light Orchestra: "Nightrider."
The line "There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in," was inspired by the Beatles song, "Fixing a Hole."
The music is amazing. The lyrics perfection.
The entire Live at Wembley show is incredible if you want live stuff!
One of my favorite songs during the 70's. You do a great job with your reactions. Keep up the nice work.
“Orchestra” isn’t just a catch phrase. Such great music...
This song dominated, in fact ELO itself, DOMINATED the pop charts for like four years straight in the 70's. Brings back lots of radio memories.
E. . .L. . .O! Hahaha, you got it!
Relieved!
favorite line: "you made the wine, now you drink a cup!"
Billy Thorpe "Children of the Sun "
Oh yeah that's a good one haven't heard it in a long time
Yes.
Yes it is. I always loved the "extreme" use of stereo.
Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs Most People I Know Think That I'm Crazy
@@rodneyprill4618 What's wrong with crazy? Especially when it's Billy.
YES all lives are AMAZING especially 2017-2018 they still have it!!!!
Their live versions sound so much like the studio version. Seeing them in concert is a happening
@Roe Vega You usually can't say that for most bands, but for these guys I believe it :)
blahblahblah blahblahblah check out their live show at Wembley Stadium on UA-cam. This is the show I saw in NYC. So good!
“Happenin” is an underused term today, but so rich in meaning.
I was at this concert I was only 5 or 6 at the time but this was an awesome concert and I am amazed that someone reacted to a concert that I went to.
Can you react to “All over the world” E L O
Yes please. Wasn’t that from Xanadu..
It is.. I forgot the elo did the soundtrack for that movie..
I try to get people to react to the Xanadu soundtrack. Best soundtrack ever produced imo
...and Im Alive, and Don't Walk Away
The movie wasn’t the greatest. But I liked it. Cheesy. But the music was badass
You probably already know this: In 1988, Jeff Lynne got together with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Tom Petty to form "The Travelling Wilburys". They made some pretty good music together until Orbison's passing away. Great reaction!
We finally got you to say it right, LOL!!! EEE EL OH -
Sincerely, A Hippie Girl Born in 1954 :)
Saw them in concert in 1978 in Ludwigshaven, Germany. Awesome performance!
"Showdown" is a good ELO song to react to.........🎶🎧
You light up with recognition so often that many times we are watching reactions to songs you're already familiar with. That's all fine and good, but there are also countless wonderful, amazing songs that you've never heard before, just waiting to be listened to for the first time.
Best live band ever. Jeff sounds and looks nearly the same as the 7os
Dude this IS the ... Electric Light ORCHESTRA !
Of course they sound this good LIVE !
You've got to react to at least one ELO live at Wembley 2017 just to see the size of the crowd and their reaction. Plus Jeff can still sing!! I suggest Turn to Stone to see the light show as well.
Absolutely loving your reactions to ELO man ....keep up the awesome work brother 👏 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
You should react to Billy Squier: "Lonely Is The Night", "Stroke", and "My Kinda Lover"
I agree, but if Jamel's going to travel down the Billy Squier road I recommend "In The Dark"!
And "In The Dark" :)
Absolutely.....Billy Squier needs some attention!
YES!
I like everybody wants you
Amd that bud is what a GOOD BAND sounds like LIVE. Today’s artists cannot do this
"There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in" is a Beatles reference ."Fixing a hole where the rain comes in. Stops my mind from wandering...where it will go" from Fixing a Hole.
ELO - Fire on High
YES!!! I have been screaming for Fire On High for weeks/months now.
@@DadBodDrumming I've liked a few of those.
While we're at it with Face the Music, why not also 'One Summer Dream'
live, studio... jeff is perfection
Groin, so glad it wasn’t a shoulder injury or we would be deprived of the great moves. 😊🎶🎧
👍🏾🤣
I catch myself doing "the Jamel" all the time, now. The hand flourish, too.
I do believe the quote is "growing injury". Haha Love JAJ!
@@hampyonce All these years I never knew that what I was doing was called the Stank Face !!!
Not sure if I've ever seen Jeff without those big shades.
The stunningly beautiful woman is mesmerising Rosie Vela. You can guess I love her. Hope she is happy. X.
I totally agree with you. That's the only concert that I've seen her with him.
She compliments him so well.
It seems like other live performances I've been able to see sometimes there's so much harmonizing in so many voices it kind of overwhelms or takes away from his voice Jeff Lynne, that is
I love when they get a shot of the audience and everybody is singing and dancing it's like a multi-generational thing too good to see good to hear. Classic and timeless.
Try Supertramp. Logical song, good bye stranger and breakfast in America.
YES PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE😁
Yes! Definitely MORE ELO but also Supertramp, and The Logical Song is great to start.
LOVE SUPERTRAMP!
Would like to add "It's Raining Again". Also, "Give a Little Bit" in the category of "songs Jamel doesn't know he knows".
Hmmm...have to disagree. Bloom was off the rose by the time of Breakfast...all the albums leading up to that release I can get behind...B. In America...not so much
I really like hearing this song on the radio but also never realised it was ELO.
And yes! This is one of the best live performances I've ever heard!
Your On a roll, great music .thanks for sharing the experience I grew up on listening to that music ,again I relive today listening good times.
Now do ELO:: "TURN TO STONE"
Agreed.
Yes! Oooh it's up... *rushing over to watch! *
Yes! All their live performances sound this good!
