Thanks for checking out Combat Pilot. We're a new hardcore combat flight-simulator for the PC set in the Pacific Theater of WWII.
Do you remember a time when there were many different combat flight-sim titles to choose from on the PC? We certainly do and miss those days. Like you, we want to see more choices in the genre and help inspire virtual pilots both young and old to take to the digital skies. We want to offer the CFS community another option besides the usual two or three titles that have been on the market for decades. More warbirds, more theaters, more features and more competition is good for the genre. If you enjoy this hobby as much as we do please consider subscribing!
Combat Pilot aims to bring a high-quality flight and fighting experience to you by harnessing the power and flexibility of Unreal Engine 5+. We are currently building our inaugural retail product and in the process of mating our powerful flight-model solution to UE5.
Initial Combat Pilot titles will be modest in scope and features and focus on the fundamental technology and elements needed to make a successful CFS franchise. Each Combat Pilot title will build upon the previous and come together create a comprehensive combat flight-sim experience. Early content will include the following:
Flyable F4F-4 "Wildcat" and A6M2 Model 21 "Zero"
USS Enterprise and IJN Akagi aircraft carriers
Realistic carrier take-offs and landings
Midway Atoll
Your Patreon subscription will be used for further development by helping us pay for a wide range of expenses such as important software, 3D assets, hardware, tools, museum access, web development and back-end programming. If our Patreon is even more successful we can invest in additional manpower to speed up development.
We also sell merchandise that along with our Patreon helps with development costs. Check out www.combatpilot.store to see what we offer!

Looking really good so far. Its a huge endeavor to create a new flight sim but youre giving us what we have asked for for so many years. The Pacific Theater!! Keep up the good work i cant wait to see more.
Fingers crossed!
Very impressive so great to see the footage, the sea and sky scape are beautiful. The night is both wonderful and scary when you consider the reality of it. Thx for showing the video I really sending my best wishes to you and the team for your effort and passion in this project
Glad you enjoyed it
Looking forward to the first step with Carrier Qualification! I appreciate you guys taking the risks to create a new fidelity combat flight simulation, especially in the Pacific.
Wow, it looks stunning. That sunrise is incredible. Serious Cfs 2 vibes 👍
Good to see Jason finally gets to build his WW2 pacific sim. I know he fought hard at 1C and 777 to get it done, but it just didn't pan out. JW is the godfather for me for flight sims. My first sim was RoF.
Welcome to Combat Pilot!
2:54 that deck light xeflection is just... *Chef kiss*
DCS, Cliffs of Dover Blitz, and BoS player here. Looking forward to this. Such a great theater for a game. Especially if the plane set is built cohesively by one dev. Reminds me of the old IL-2 Pacific game!
I seem to recall Jason talking about this kind of sim back in the SimHq forum days. Congratulations on making it happen.
Yes, the Pacific has been a long time dream of mine.
A truly modern flight simulator. Can't wait.
That is one beautiful F4F. Good luck team! I’ll be eager to give this sim a shot when it’s out!
This game is gonna be the the next competitor. Can't wait to get a new flight sim! Is gonna be time
We have desperately needed a Pacific theatre WW2 sim for years and the 'Great Battles crew showed no interest. This looks beautiful and I will certainly buy it upon release.
The Great battles crew have been very interested for quite a few years but refuse to model aircraft without good data on how they flew. There is a serious lack of official info on the IJN aircraft.
@@RobinHartJones Yet they made three volumes of Flying Circus. Is it possible that there's more data on WW1 aircraft than WW2 IJN aircraft?
There's a lot more to that story unfortunately. They are interested now so maybe you'll get two competing Pacific products someday.
DCS and MSFS simmer here. I think this has the potential to be a great flight sim. Keep up the good work! Awaiting to see the final product
Thanks, we hope you will enjoy it.
This looks awesome, can't wait to take to the skies!
This looks like a late 90s flight sim got ported to a new engine. Will it be realistic like DCS or more like IL2? Im really excited for the pacific theater... the japanese ships are beautiful
How about the best of both worlds?
@@combatpilotsimSo the flight model will be up to par with DCS?
Really awesome! the demo looks very bare bones at the moment but its to be expected as such early stages of development. But for me the most exciting part is that you are leveraging the powerful UE5 ecosystem to make a combat flight simulator. The possiblities for outer developers to contribute to the game are endless with this in mind! Not to mention the hugely powerful network games tools and robust systems that UE provides, so excited! I worked for a games company on a multiplayer (4 player) action RPG in UE4 so I know how powerful the engine is. If theres anything a software engineer could be of help just let me know! Id love to help you guys out in any non core feature or tool. Good luck in the development, looks like a solid project!
Looks really good. I wanna see that torque for myself!
Good luck! Well overdue a successor to MSCFS2
@SUP_Bigansback in the 2000s Microsoft made spinoffs of their FS series for WWII combat
Way to go guys!!!!!!!
promising...but still a long way to go
Yep long road ahead.
That's true. It seems like they have a realistic plan to get there, which is good.
This looks phenomenal, thank you all so much for making this simulator!
Honestly, at the moment, I can not even afford to patreon. I wish I could. But I have been looking forward to this since announced. I will definitely be in the skies over the Pacific. I am hoping to get on board when early access is available. Testing would be fun but I don't have the technical knowledge to be a proper tester. I will settle for a eager customer.
No worries!
I'm really looking forward to it. Please recreate Zero's leg storage.
It looks beautiful. The water, the sky, the light looks great. It was definitely a good idea to use UE5. I hope you guys put a lot of effort into the flight model and the ground physics. For me, it's the most important thing in a sim.
That's the plan!
Looks Thank you for sharing. We are a group for the disabled games communities. We are looking for more flight sims like this, so keep us posted.
since it’s ue5 you can use uevr while vr is being implemented
Looking forward to this.
The models look great on the outside. Though I fear by the time it's done il2 will have started on their pacific game and that will be some serious competition
Nothing I can do about it. The good news is that WW2 was huge!
@@combatpilotsim oh indeed. I didn't intend that they would corner the market, just that it would be stiff competition. I do emphasize that the exterior models look absolutely incredible and rival DCS in quality. I'm sure eventually the internal textures will match and it'll be on par with modern sims.
il-2 korea may be in the pacific, but it is not wwii
@@TheMedievalboy not Korea. Korea is their next project, pacific is after
Thanks for the 4K!
No problem!
Nice!
Will this ship, with OpenXR VR support ?
When VR comes we anticipate having OpenXR support.
@@combatpilotsim great news, I hope it supports Quadviews out of the box , eye tracking DFR takes VR performance to the next level. Look forward to more updates
I love carrier ops and I have no idea why because I am really bad at landing on them :-) It is annoying because about fifteen years ago someone taught me a simple trick to get it right every time so that after an hours tuition I was landing on tiny escort carriers in high seas with the deck pitching all over the place but I cannot remember what the trick was :-)
That's the challenge!
Have you spent any time practicing "pitch for speed, power for altitude" in slow flight? That helped me a lot.
This simulation also includes missions and flight combat ?
It’s a combat flight sim, so yes, there’s air combat.
in their other video, the combat will eventually be added (duh, it's called combat pilot). they give an outline of their plans, culminating in the release of a full midway battle to begin with. after that they'll go on to create the solomon islands campaign along with many more planes
Of course, but it takes time to develop.
i assume there will be 6DoF support with trackIR alongside VR?
TrackIR 6DOF is already implemented.
My dream flight sim is actually getting made... crazy!
I hope you come soon.
That's what she said
oh my
Looks good. Is Lumen turned of? What limitations do you counter with UE5?
We use Lumen of course. Too early to talk about any limitations. So far we have not met any.
@@combatpilotsim Thank you! Would you have ship crew and soldiers on the islands?
Will there be cold start and not everything automated (the less the better), I mean for me the best would be cold start possible and clickable cockpit or at least il-2 great battle level of commands through hotas or keyboard of a maximum of things (rpm, mixture, radiators, cowl flaps etc). Looking forward to it!
The plan is to offer both methods.
@@combatpilotsim That's awesome!
The lighting at 02:58 looks photorealistic !!
It has a fly by view.... So its a real simulator.😅
For trailer
please tell me cold start is optional
Of course.
Can't scare away the War Thunder crowd
@@stevencooper7111 🤣
Please give VR users the ability to check their six
Its called turning your head.
Of course.
I am very excited about that project!
But what I am wondering about: why that ruSSian style attitude indication on the overlay?
Just a place holder.
Baa Baa Black Sheep...
Baa... baa.. baa...
looks amazing beyond estatic
This is looking amazing even at this early stage.
I know you're not at this stage yet, but please don't underprioritize human-feeling AI (absolute skill is less important than interesting non-robotic behavior) and interaction / breadth of the world. Ie. dynamic campaign, mission planning aspects. This is where all eastern-developed flightsims have failed in the last 25 years.
Great AI is a long term project. Will take time, but I know what you are getting at. Dealt with this issue for years.
Wow!
We are waiting
Spectacular! If you need an experienced beta tester I am available.🙂
❤😮
1:25 no no no....please dont put that type of hud in the final version please...
It's just a placeholder. Pre-Alpha build remember.
Calm down buddy. This is a video showing progress. Pretty sure that when they release the game it will be very good and have updated HUDS :)
I dont even know how can i call this 4 3d models a tech demo...
???
Почему на сайте нет РУССКОГО ЯЗЫКА?
Someday.
There should be no such thing as ruSSian language in the world. Or anything ruSSian for that matter.
Ceterum censeo carthaginem esse delendam.
No combat..need to change name
No combat until we have combat, which we will in time.
game is still taking its first steps, what'd you expect from a very early pre alpha view? they only have basic flight and visual models right now. come back in a year or so if you want combat
@@RailgunCyclops I would expect if its name is Combat Pilot the first thing you should show is some combat this trailer unfortunately doesn’t make me excited at all, the name did. I’ll check back.
I wish you would have just made these modules for DCS rather than creating a completely new game.
please no, DCS is a horrible platform
@@SnaxDesAvions Care to explain why?
We want to do our own thing and be able to release content and features on our own schedule, not someone else's and besides, who knows if they would have worked with us anyways. We are excited to work with UE5 and see how we can push it to do a CFS.
@@combatpilotsim I appreciate the reply
@@5bStix why?! The have problems with 3 Developers. Very bad optimized at the moment. Some flight models got more bugs that make them almost unplayable. They keep releasing stuff that is far from finished. VR experience got a lot worse lately. DCS is not in a good shape atm
It's a scam, it says it will release the game in 2025 when currently it is in an alpha state or not even in alpha, you can't finish it in a year.
It's become fashionable to show supposed gameplay, to raise money and then say they're bankrupt or development has stopped or some other lie. We've seen it many times already...
The supposed gameplay, an airplane carrier that looks like cardboard, the sea, which is very, very bad, looks too ridiculous, the patterns are unbearable to see, 2 airplanes... two very dubious airplane cabins...
You are asking for patreons, you set up your own store and you are already selling...
it's a joke... (And you're going to finish it by 2025... learn to lie.)
In 2016 I gave Warhorse Studio $50 based on a tiny demo. The concept of Kingdom Come Deliverance was so good that I was willing to chance it. In 2018 I got the game. Best money I have ever spent on a video game.
As for Combat Pilot, I know Jason Williams personally. I worked very closely with him during the development of PWCG for Rise of flight, IL2 Great Battles, and Flying Circus. Jason DOES NOT LIE. Now, I don't know if 2025 is optimistic or not. I do know that if it's not 2025 then it will be not too far after. I also know that the game will be well maintained and continuously improved after release date. How do I know this? Jason has a 15 year track record of doing just that.
What do you know about Jason? What has you so convinced that he is a con artist that you are willing to call his work a scam? I think you're typical internet troll that loves to badmouth people from behind a keyboard.
@@patwilson2546 (I think you're the typical internet troll who loves to talk bad about people from behind a keyboard??)
You're doing the same to me by saying that... how childish you are, I wonder if you're the boyfriend or his scam partner?
I don't care who he is or who you are, it simply has to be a scam because since you know so much, you should also know that it's impossible to make a simulator in a year, he's promoting it to attract patreons and he set up his private store and is already selling it, it shows dubious gameplay, and a ridiculous date... it closes everything perfectly, anyone who knows about the subject knows that it's impossible.
Making a simulator in a year... yes, of course, and Tetris is a skyscraper simulator.
@@GHOST-A2COPat Wilson is a very respected flight Sim content creator, I think he knows what he is talking about.
@@GHOST-A2CO You are such a clown , Pat wilson is the creator of the best dynamic campaign for users both in Rise of flight as well as IL-2 great battle. Go back under rock you troll.
@@robertormes2178 You can think what you want, but the reality is different, "whoever knows about the subject, knows that it is impossible to make an airplane simulator in a year" so if you don't know about the subject, think like you, making a simple airplane/arcade game in a year, yes, it is possible, but not a simulator.
It seems that the sim will be very arcade focused...
You do realize that this is a very early demo?
@@mrrkus no
Sorry no it is not arcade focused. Don't mistake early temporary featured with what will be in the final product.
@@combatpilotsim That's good news !
Why do you say that? Jason's history is development of sims, not arcade games. I can pretty much guarantee you that this will NOT be an arcade game.
