Cooling DDR4 is kind of pointless. DDR3 on the other hand, can benefit from cooling, due to the heat produced from higher voltages. Especially when overclocking.
2:45 "You probably won't have to do the fan re-positioning dance to make them fit underneath some of the larger air coolers" lol if you're air cooling your CPU but water cooling your RAM, you need help
wondering if a 40mm or 60mm fan over the RAM would have the same 'cooling' effect or if EKWB components offer the same experience with a different aesthetics
I don't think a simple overclock would make this worth it or even make your ram hot enough to raise concerns. I could see it being useful in some sort of server running tons of VMs that is constantly having its memory slammed and heat concerns because of it. Ram doesn't really have a thermal limit target like CPUs or GPUs do, and if it gets too hot it doesn't throttle, it would just crash if the temps got way too high, and I'm sure just a simple heat spreader would be enough to handle any heat concerns.
I got the AIO cpu/memory floe combo for 139.99+ 149.99 for the 2x8gb 4400mhz toughram. To me that was reasonably priced. 300 for extremely fast ram, a cpu cooler, radiator, fans, pump, and nice argb is honestly a screaming deal when just a cpu water block, a pump, and ram can easily cost $100+each. And yes aesthetics was a bit of my choice but its good to know that in high temp environments this will drop mem temps and its not just a baseless claim.
actually SKU (which is an acronym) - stands for stock keeping unit ;) But yes I agree... 100% love the normal look of the ram and would love to see it with white heat spreaders.
I have a pair of BitsPower RamBlocks (x4) for my Dominator GT set. (DDR3 8x4GB) They bolt to the top of the RAM, once the stock heatsinks are unbolted. Good for DDR3, but DDR4 doesn't put out anywhere near the same amount of heat, so I don't see the point.
I overlooked my trash corsair vengeance RGB pro cl18 3600mhz memory at 1.45 volt but it Ran pretty hot like 48 Celsius so i just put a cpu cooler fan on top of the ram and boom now running at 40 Celsius
My dream pc is something that has all the Rgb i can fit in a glass case that is as close to silence as I can get. I’ve always wanted to do a system that uses an external rad and pump away from the system that does the majority of the cooling and not add any noise. This ram, the gigabyte motherboard with a full cover mobo block, full cover gpu block, and an overkill psu so it’s fans don’t spin even under full system load would be perfect. With all the heat generating components covered by water blocks. You wouldn’t need any case fans in the case itself. All cooling can be done away from the system
it could make for a cool looking system I have an idea in my head for a busier looking custom loop with pipes and tubes coiling about the system with a kind of gigeresk type feel this kit could add to that
Although I have no use for water cooled memory. I can see someone with the money to spend and a custom tube rig adding the memory for aesthetics. I think it would look very nice.
Recently replaced my Trident Z RGB for some Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO and was checking the prices out and saw the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB which was £50 more and didn't look as appealing. This from Thermaltake, although get what they're trying to do, kind of. It makes it look extra bulky. The heat spreaders themselves look clean, but that waterblock is just awful. One of the biggest appeals apart from temperatures with watercooling is how sleek it can look if done correctly and this totally subtracts from that look, or at least in my opinion.
Soooooo.... basically a $200 removable LED bar? Good video... crappy overpriced item. It's MAYBE worth $50 buy itself then $100 for 16gb memory sticks or $200 for 32gb worth. I'll pass.
It seems like a good product i f you have money left over after getting your Liquid cooled CPU,GPU & VRM sorted, & the fact that TT is not marketing as performance enhancement is a good thing
Eye candy for the people who have to have water cooling everything just to say they have it, rgb is starting to push the limits but water cooling just for the looks and to get to get no more performance out of it seems pointless.
The only thing that might make a difference with ryzen is it's compatibility with the ram sticks themselves. The watercooling wouldn't make any difference there either.
Love the Meshify S2 commercial with Gregg! Hahahaha!
hahaha i was just actually scrolling down to say the same thing hahaha loved it!!

*mentioning putting waterblocked ram beneath an air cooler* lol.
Guess it still is a good way to tell us the ballparked size.
$400? lmao
i will only use that if i will buy a $30000 pc
2:45 "You probably won't have to do the fan re-positioning dance to make them fit underneath some of the larger air coolers"
lol if you're air cooling your CPU but water cooling your RAM, you need help
😂
right? like if you want rgb on your ram that badly just buy a kit that has it already
The summary: it’s not worth it
Does the WB have micro fins, copper/nickel/aluminum or just a plain, acrylic chamber?
I like the clean look of the ram without the waterblock so maybe I'll pick some up when they're a standalone product.
now what if you were over volting ram and extreme ocing with it
This is almost necessary in 2024 for DDR5 6000+ lol.
wondering if a 40mm or 60mm fan over the RAM would have the same 'cooling' effect or if EKWB components offer the same experience with a different aesthetics
Science Studio cameo in the ad! Love it!
6:11 said whaaat? Say this to overclockers community lol
I’d like to see Buildzoid test this and see if they make any better thermals when overclocked versus simply passive cooling.

I'd love those with no WB and in a white skew instead. Skue? Skoo.

EK has thier monarch line of RAM watercooling stuff

can we please get the image at 1:00 with no text as a wallpaper?

Jacob Straessle Yep Rowe’s the more richer people
Could never see myself investing in this
~Would rather invest in expensive car parts lmao
Ironic we need watercooling ram now especially trying for 8000+

You know it's gonna be a fractal ad when you see a green lambo.
Lololol
Watercool for the mouse, for everything.
Can you test in a closed case where thermals might matter more? Nice vid.
I want the ram only without the cooling module, TT ples
He said they are low enough to fit under most air coolers>>>LOL
Soooooo.... basically a $200 removable LED bar? Good video... crappy overpriced item. It's MAYBE worth $50 buy itself then $100 for 16gb memory sticks or $200 for 32gb worth. I'll pass.
great video again. love the channel
Was that science studio in your intro?
Yes
But does that give you more room to overclock the RAM? Maybe now you can throw 1.7V at it for 4288 cl12? Lol
I still really dig those DIMMs, but that price is a bit much.
It seems like a good product i f you have money left over after getting your Liquid cooled CPU,GPU & VRM sorted,
& the fact that TT is not marketing as performance enhancement is a good thing
now ddr5 generate more heat
DUDE temperature isn't by itself gonna improve performance! they don't auto overclock! you got to increase frequency or tighten timings.. c'mon man.
I was able to buy 32gb 3200mhz Trident Z RGB last year for $290.....what in the world was TT thinking with this product!?!
Clearly too expensive but I like the look of the block probably flows great it would be perfect for a watercooled motherboard setup
Eye candy for the people who have to have water cooling everything just to say they have it, rgb is starting to push the limits but water cooling just for the looks and to get to get no more performance out of it seems pointless.
Was here.
I would say the only reason for the ram is a no fan build
you would still need fans for the radiators though
Stephen Pena ah ha but no if you have enough radiator you don’t need fans
Damn Greg looks hot 😲
knowing how finicky AMD is with RAM marriage, how will this do with AMD Processors?
The only thing that might make a difference with ryzen is it's compatibility with the ram sticks themselves. The watercooling wouldn't make any difference there either.
@@BuzzKiller23 that's what I was referring to, the ram itself
Gg, 7k Twitter followers.
Seems so pointless as that ram doesn't really get hot anyway
Total waste of money
Soo.. You're paying 50bucks for every degree drop? 🤔🤔😂🤣😂
This comment would be better if you didn't use cancerous emojis.
