It´s actually explainable - higher level of brain activity needs more energy. While IRL, you can´t go past your body limits, not without heavy (mostly death sentence) sacrifices.
People gave Weir too little credit. She was pretty much a random civilian they pulled in because she had a diplomatic background and the right test scores and she grew into her role with a determined focus that kept the SGA team from pretty much disintegrating within the first week despite having much worse to work with. Yes, Rodney is smart, yes, Ronon is an expert fighter, yes, Carson's gifted as hell, but they're all people that are much, much, MUCH less experienced and intrinsically on-task compared to what the Cheyenne Mountain Complex can field, and the way she rapidly adjusted to the new situation in this episode highlights her skills beautifully.
She resorts to saber rattling a bit too often for who is supposed to be a trained diplomat. Now I could _understand_ if she was a military commander, but no, she's a civilian. SG-1 implied she's just compensating because she is out of her depth, but it's not like Atlantis ever followed up much on this idea, so she comes across as a vague generic leader guy. Great character, bad for the role she is in.

Yup. Ronan technically CAN beat Rodney. All he has to do is stun Rodney before he can even do anything because all of his abilities he has to will it. He can’t just randomly do it, which if Ronan catches that, just prevent Rodney from thinking to do it.
If i can move things with my mind, exclusive use for games. Like claw machines or carnival games. Maybe do a little bit of gambling. But if it shortens my life in any way, I don't want them.

In this, i liked the scene when he was confronted by Sheppard and Weir about the downside of his condition and both of them didn´t even need to open their mouths. He did all the talking alone.

I missed this one, gotta get the box set to watch ones I missed. Which is quite a few now that I think about it. Watched most of the 1st season, about half of the 2nd, a bit of the 3rd and 4th and hardly any of the others.
We had SG:U which was pretty ok (better than the first seasons of SG-1 and certainly better than the last seasons of SG-1), but people got whiny because it wasn't the ol' shooty-shooty military tough grawwwr cast, so it got cancelled.

I've learned better in the two years since I left that comment, but I still haven't gotten around to forcing myself through that first season to get to the part where it gets good.

I remember resenting this show when it first came out, like it was the upstart trying to replace SG-1. But as time went on I saw it more as just an expansion of Stargate in general. The few crossover episodes did a lot to help with that.
Like when Jack had the knowledge of the ancients and the stargate is jammed off-world. Isn't it lucky someone with some sort of superpower is around right when you need them!

The problem is that setting it to reverse required being infinitely close to ascension (or being ascended yourself, if we go with the "The Ancients told Rodney how to undo it so they wouldn't have to put up with him" theory) so undoing THAT is pretty much impossible. Also it starts a countdown at whose end you either ascend or die. That's kind of a big issue.
Rodney takes Ronan's gun as a joke, Ronan punches him in the face or head butts him to unconsciousness. Rodney wakes up to Ronon sitting next to him. Ronan says, "don't touch my gun" walks away.
Ronan would just be all cool headed as usual. John would probably be like Rodney and goof around a bit/a'lot. Teyla........she already kinda has powers so nothing new there in behavior. Elizabeth might jump the gun or go on a mission or something, get relieved of her duties till they get things sorted out..
