hi guys new video. this video is about super powers. a while ago i asked you on my community page if you had a super power what would it be
and this is some of the asnwers. there are a lot of good and creative super powers in the comments, and i sadly only covered like 4.
i want to do more of this, im thinking i could cover more of the comments in like a tier list kind of thing? maybe?

I feel like shapeshifting is cool. Specifically, the way Envy had it in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Self Healing, feel comfortable in your skin, buff up temporarily, don’t have to fix your hair. It’s both convenient and flashy at the same time
Thank you! I thought I was the only that thought of this! Shapeshifting could be used to like shapeshift into yourself, but like you also have a house or computer with all your favorite games on it. And, when you want to remodel your home, or when better hardware comes out and you want to update your computer, it will a ton easier and be free!

Teleportation (without portals) has always been my favourite. Because almost every task can be done with it like getting changed, brushing teeth, getting dry etc. I just think that would be cool
Why would you choose to FORGO the portals though. Portals give you all the same benefits but with extra potential, taking friends, grabbing something from another room, so much potential.

@@LARAUJO_0 first of all, torpedoes are under water and second, if a missile is as small or smaller than a person the jet is gonna have to be real close to the target to get an accurate hit.

I personally think reality manipulation would be pretty wicked, because with that one could do LITERALLY ANYTHING. Phase through walls. Summon eldritch entities. Contort reality itself, like in the Doctor Strange films. Nigh-infinite possibilities. Space and time would bend to one’s will.

I still stand by the idea that shape shifting is the best superpower. It encompasses most of the other classic superpowers. Give yourself wings for flight, turn into a random object to be invisible, etc

it would be summoned out of your hand and would spew out a chosen element you could think of out of it.

The power to be good at everything you do the first time you try it. That would be so amazing, because you would have infinite roads to take and explore. Although it might take away some of the fun of feeling that sort of accomplishment you get when you get good at something you previously weren't good at. But if you tweak the power to "being a really fast learner" that might be less of an issue.
But my more generic pick would be teleportation. You could go anywhere or escape any situation. It's such a good vanilla power.

I feel like the ability to shapeshift is underrated, because assuming that it's literally chemically changing your body's composition, you can technically become a superhuman in every other way - you can genetically shift yourself to gain muscle mass differently, to be faster, I have a very loose concept of dna, learn quicker, the sky's the limit. It's only limited by your creativity (and possibly by your energy and available resources around to shift with, if you wanna be lame and technical like a big ol lame-o)
I always instinctively choose flying until I realize that this power exists. It could also even mean voluntary immortality as you *could* reconstruct yourself if even a single atom of your body remains.

Imagine if you could shapeshift into fictional beings, it would literally make one of the already most overpowered super powers like a billion times better than every other super power because you can just shapeshift into a fictional being that has other super powers
One thing often ignored in the discussion about superpowers is the question of how physically taxing your power would be. Like, if we're talking about flying, how tired would you be after an hour of flying?
Yeah, people forget that the Flash has to eat a shit ton of food due to his metabolism and Superman draws his energy directly from the sun's radiation.
Not to mention the countless other negatives to super powers
Also another thing people discount is property damage and more worryingly attention. If you started flying, you'd be a worldwide sensation instantly. You'd never get a second of rest and everyone would want a piece of you, probably including some really shady people.

Flashtime will almost always be my choice (basically superspeed, but the way they show it in comic books). Other than that: stretchy rubber body (like gum gum in one piece) or Spider-Man (preferably Tobey Maguire’s) powers, just to swing across the city and dodge balls in dodge ball easier

I feel like biological manipulation would be a great power assuming you can always revert back to your original state and if rendered unconscious you return to your original state

Creates fields that can be either planar or volumetric, can selectively collide with matter, and can emit, absorb, and reflect/refract radiation. The most common applications I see it being used for are for holographic projections, applying forces to objects, and as a solar panel and heatsink. Not only are the uses endless, but it can also be used to fake most other superpowers.

Shapeshifting, always my pick. Instead of explaining why I want it, though, I'd rather explain why this is such a fun answer to this question, because it has so much more possible variety than most answers depending on your parameters.
If we want to go crazy with what counts as "shapeshifting," that means that if I wanted to turn into Superman, I will not only look like him, but I will have all of his powers. If I want to be geokinetic, or produce weapons from my body, or clone myself? Turn into someone who can do that. I could also turn into non-human animals, or even inanimate objects if I wanted. Maybe I just want to know what it's like being a Brussels sprout, you know? You could even turn into fictional characters or ones that don't even exist, fiction or nonfiction.
Meanwhile, at the most limited, you can only turn into other people. Maybe you can only turn into faces of people you know, or maybe you need to obey the law of conservation of mass, so you can't become super muscular or go from overweight to scrawny. Maybe you're only allowed to turn into a certain type of person, like if you're only able to turn into the same sex (or only the opposite sex). Maybe you only have a single other form you can change back and forth into. And even more than that, let's say you got this power from a mischievous genie. You get to shapeshift, but once you do, you find out that you're stuck in that form forever.
The possibilities are as limited or as endless as you allow them to be when it comes to shapeshifting, so I love exploring that when I answer this question.
You can also shape-shift into a younger version of yourself when you get old, so you can achieve a type of immortality.
i just think it would be fun because you can buy a doll house turn into a frog or something and just live in there :]

I'm glad I found this video, I'm currently working on the plot of my third webcomic. It'll be about ppl who suddenly develop some weirdly specific and unusual superpowers and how they deal with it
Personally I'd want teleportation. Flying is cool and all but teleportation is so much more versatile.
Telekinesis is the most underrated super power. Everyone always says "I wanna fly or stop time" when I ask what one power would you want. I can fly with telekinesis, lift myself. I can also defend myself with telekinetic barriers, hard enough wall even bullets can't go through. And combat would be easy, yank the gun out of their hands.
But headaches

You could make literal billions. Or go to the casino to the roulette wheel, note what it will land on, wait for the right time, then just bet a ton of money on exactly that spot.

This has probably been done to death, but portals would probably be cool. Not only is it basically teleportation, but you can also take practically anything with you, phase through walls, cut things in half by manifesting a portal between them, make a unending portal drop and throw a rock and fire it out while keeping all the momentum. Could even turn humanity into a interstellar species within a day by opening portals to where ever in the universe. Banish anything or anyone to the vacuum of space instantly where ever they are, turn yourself invisible by covering yourself in portals, or create a portal near a black holes event horizon to use the gravitational time dilation to create time travel.

Shapeshifting (with low limits) is a great option. You could fly by shapeshifting into a bird, or any other silly stuff you want. And also you arent limited to normal animals you could just make stuff up. Or if its even more unlimited you dont even have to do smth biological. Lotta options.

I refuse to believe that it wouldn’t go like this: You clone yourself, and get all the clones to go study. You start studying but realise you aren’t getting anything done, however it doesn’t matter because all your clones are studying for you. You meet up with all the clones and morph back together, only to realise that all of the clones procrastinated and you didn’t learn anything.

Shapeshifting for sure, as long as you were able to like have it be super involved or not. Like if you wanted to shapeshift, but you had to manually create every single new vein or artery, making sure everything works, that's just a fast way to get some internal bleeding and die. But if you were able to have it do it on its own or have you choose to be a bit more involved, than if you studied biology you could just not get sick a lot of the time, and of course.... Shapeshifting :)

What if you could extend it to other people? This has many benefits to the target such as healing and shapeshifting them into something more appealing. It can even be applied to self defense. Imagine fighting someone who can shape shift you into a bunny. Terrifying
yeah shapeshifting is prolly the best, but if there are no restrictions or power cap for these powers the strongest ability would be to ignore the laws of physics and reality, so i could make matter out of nothing, rewrite time, fly, telekinesis, shapeshift, go wherever i wanted through time and space, adjust the world to my whim, etc etc, ignoring the laws of physics practically makes you a god, so yeah, also cause you ignore the laws of physics you can just give other people this power as well, since you can do whatever you want

Shapeshifting will always be the best power, almost no matter how it's defined. If you can only do full transformations, taking on the entire form of for example an animal, it's still freaking great since there are soooooooooo many different animals with cool abilities. You don't need a second superpower to fly, you can just transform into a bird. You don't need a second superpower for superstrength, you can just transform into a gorilla. Etc. etc. It's even more amazing if you have complete control of your shapeshifting and can freely mix and match different physical features on your body as you wish. Hell you could even modify your own appearance to look hotter, the possibilities are endless!

Shapeshifting and cloning so your clones can turn into stuff for you say a chair if you didnt have a chair or a girlfreind if you didnt have one
Let's not forget the fact that depending on how you define it, you could just shapeshift into abstract thing. Like an amorphous blob of technicolor geometry. Or, if you're fighting somebody you don't like, shapeshift into their worst nightmare. You don't have to know what you're shapeshifting into to do it.
I would love spider-man’s powers. So. Many. Benefits. Like strength, climb any surface(obviously) to get things in higher places or help people in high, inaccessible places, and ORGANIC WEBS. For faster travel
I would want a super power that could help people improve their lives.. like healing powers or clearing mental blocks
I love the idea of chlorokinesis, imagine having like a plant nursery and just getting infinite sales because you can make infinite undying plants in whatever shape or colour or species you want. Plus plants are pretty and a big enough tree could probably give you very basic geokinesis.

Time manipulation is the thing I immediately think of. Stopping time lets you Steal things, take naps, maybe study for that quiz you forgot was today. Plus rewinding and going forward in time would be pretty neat also.
i would personally like to have the power to enchant anything to do anything. the possibilities are endless. you could turn a pile of dirt into gold. you could make flying swords. you could even grant yourself superpowers by enchanting objects to grant the holder/wearer superpowers. you could just enchant different accessories to give you super strength, super intelligence, flight, super healing. you could also make them only work on you. additionally, if you wanted to have a super power at all times, you could enchant yourself. you could become god.
I’d like to take the time to notice that the animation in this vid is really good. No wonder Andy’s been gone a while, there was a lot of effort put into this.

Follow up suggestion: typical “villain” powers that would be amazingly helpful to society if used ethically. The one that keeps coming to mind for me is Kilgrave style mind control. Incredibly dangerous but it has incredible potential for improving lives. Could be used without consent in a crisis situation ( from talking someone back off a ledge to ending a hostage situation ). Could be used with consent to help individuals keep themselves off drugs through withdrawal phases, recount trauma, etc. A therapists ultimate tool and assistant.

I'd choose telekinesis. Regardless of the way "Chronicle" ends, I still think it would be pretty awesome. You could fly, wouldn't ever have to walk again, ever lift a finger, etc. Pretty neat.
Rip out your pain receptors with telekinesis, get rid of your blood, and then use telekinesis as a substitute for your blood, you are now a lich.
You can also open any container with 0 effort, because telekinesis has "kinesis" in it for a reason, you can control kinetic energy.
You could literally point at a chalkboard and make the writing on it any font you want by moving the individual particles of chalk. You could write paragraphs in a matter of seconds by putting pencil led onto a paper.
You could rearrange matter on a subatomic level to transform any material into any other or if superpowers are DNA based, copy other powers by transforming your genetics.
Psychokinesis for me. It's similar, except with physical action instead of pure mental energy. I'd find it hard to control if I only had to use my mind, so I can pretty much just use physical movement as a filter of sorts. Plus it's the power of a couple of characters I've made, who are definitely my favorites of the bunch.
shapeshifting because it's incredibly versatile. It can also do what plenty of other powers can. Flight? Shapeshift into a bird. Clone? Just shapeshift a copy of yourself with some little cord thing attached since it's still has to be connected to you. Creating weapons? Sword arm. So many other things you could do too.

Ah, but the flaw... Do you have to physically SEE where you're teleporting to? Or do you just have to know of it? Can you teleport through/past obstacles, or is it just moving REALLY fast in a straight line? Do you disappear, traveling through an alternate Hell-like dimension in the fraction of a second in order to move from one spot to the other? Is there a cooldown time between teleports, and/or does it use up your energy to teleport?

The issue with super powers is that you'd need to balance personal usefulness with amount of attention it can bring.
Being super strong or able move things with your mind sounds cool until you realize that everyone is going to want your help moving.
Self duplication sounds good for getting things done, but then you risk *everyone* foisting responsibilities onto you, from cleaning the house or watching kids to grocery shopping and even major construction. (Also the likelihood of a Twice-style clone rebellion)
Flight and super speed sound good for getting places, but not only can you only carry what *you* can personally carry, but you'd practically be shanghaied into being a delivery guy for friends and family.
Also, you know, the likelihood of some crazy dude either trying to fight you every week or kidnap you to try and duplicate/steal/use your powers for *their* own gain.

If it works how I think it does not only would you be able to control the speed at which some things move, you would ideally also be able to control things like the temperature of objects by speeding up or slowing down their atoms which just sounds very convenient.

I'd like to create portals to wherever I want, even if I can't see the place, like a mix of the portal weapon (from the Portal series) + Nightcrawler (X-men). It has so many possibilities, but if it obeys the rules of the Portal series universe, I could put a portal on the roof and one on the ground, a big magnet and a big coil and just make one

pyrokinesis: move local air/water or anything to mix it really fast to create supercharged plasma. (also explosions)
electrokinesis: strip electrons and make them flow around.
freezing: slow the molecular movement of target matter to make it colder.

Is the food you ate now you? is what you're touching you- like holding a coin? would it be considered part of you if you put it inside of you? (like putting the coin in your mouth or something) also, do you think makeup or hair dye would stay on?
A superpower I always thought would be cool would be the ability to become ethereal. But not just all at once, but also having complete control of the extent and where specifically. If someone went to punch you, you could make it so that part of you is no longer corporeal and they just go straight through. You could be almost invincible by making everything but the bottom of your feet untouchable. And that way you could still walk around.

Geekiness’s is cool(imma just call it earthbending) because idk it’s good for a lot of stuff; fighting, building, stuff like that. For some reason I’ve always wanted to be able to jump really high(without breaking your everything when you land of course) but I don’t know why. Telekinesis is really cool, and so is controlling time. As you can see, I’m an indecisive person.
For me i only can think about one super power: the power to create rifts thet bring you in to a dimension where is only Void. But dont think its sucks, cuz in thet dimension you are god. You can change everything in it and bring things from your world to thks dimension , or just take an op thing whet you made in thet dimension in to your reality. Think about it. You can even make clotes thet can give you diferent superpowers.
If I could have any superpower, I’d go with time manipulation. Being able to pause, resume, rewind, or forward time at my own will. That way I’m not just stuck with 2 settings for any time related super power, time manipulation gives me all the power for anything I want to do with time.
Secondary superpower choice would be to teleport by just snapping my fingers

Teleportation is my fave, though it’s the most OP and potentially broken, as Tom Scott made clear that one time.
Flight has always been kinda meh to me. Enhanced mobility is cool but it still takes time and effort. The functional differences between flight and super speed are smaller than you’d probably think, only super speed is useful for things other than just traveling from place to place.
Of the more common superpowers, invisibility is my pick, especially if anything you’re wearing or holding turns invisible too, and DOUBLE especially if it makes you invisible to infrared. You can’t fight what you can’t see, plus it makes travel to anywhere that already has people (read: anywhere you’d actually want to go) trivial. Just sneak aboard a plane or train or whatever form of transport you want and you’re golden. So it ups your fighting potential, means you can get into just about anywhere, and makes you the perfect spy. Pretty sweet power.
personally, after putting some thought into this, I'd say my ideal superpower would be the ability to function normally without sleep. most other superpowers are either too specific or too broad to be useful in any real way in my daily life.

Wouldn't the best super power be to control reality at your will? Like you could litteraly have every power with it and more, because this power is limitless since you can even decide whether there is or isn't a god/gods.
And with that power you could then make it so that you can teleport.

Especially considering that, like all abilities (super or non), it would actually be made up of multiple smaller abilities eg: omnipotence. With that in mind, I would probably still stick with my original answer.
@@interestingrobot9247 What if you use that power to only give you tye power you want and maybe decide that your death will be in like 80 to 90 years without knowing the precise date so you don't panic when that day arrive and you don't have the problem of immortality? Or you could also decide that you are not anxious when you do become anxious. But yeah this is maybe too much for a power, or the solutions for the problems of this power aren't really any good.

the power to create ANYTHING is the most useful for day to day life
The ability to control light is by far one of my favorite ideas. You can, obviously, make stuff glow and get dimmer, but you can also do way more abstract things, like turn yourself invisible, see infrared/ultraviolet, make light reflect off of nothing (pretty much summoning a mirror that does not interact with physical matter), create illusions, be able to see with bonocular vision just by manipulating the way light warps near your eyes (or microscopic vision for that matter), even see through walls (though that one will definitely have to be used with measure). I personally love the idea of illusion magic essentially!
Ps: You also never would have to worry about sunglasses again and you could see in the dark!

@@bobbypierce6536 That is actually where my original idea for this power came from! I made an OC for a role-playing group on Scratch (that was a while ago.) He loved to turn invisible, and would do it involuntarily a lot without realizing, terrible at social interaction, and a ton of fun to play!

One thing. The ability to morph into anything at all. Technically, you could imagine yourself the size of a building, and grow.
I've always wanted the ability to control, store, and release momentum. Think about it. If someone shoots you, you can remove all of the kinetic energy from the bullet, and either store it for later, or release it into your opponent causing them to fly in any direction at that same velocity. As you become more powerful, you can draw momentum from larger things, such as the rotation of the earth, or even the orbit of the planets around the sun. finally, you're power's awakening could be to control the momentum of abstract concepts such as time. I feel like there's so much potential to work with, and many creative ways to utilize this power.

I've always liked the idea of creating pocket universes to live in. Or at least, a pocket of space that defies the laws of physics. Its like having a personal secret base that u can hang out in and no one else has access to it. Bonus points if it defies time too, cos, aside from time travel, i can just use it to get a few extra hours of sleep in the morning as well

No doubt, this would be a fatal crash. You slip into your pocket universe, but now you're in a dilemma, if you leave the pocket universe, you die.

@@imma3knee well... if it's outside of time, it may as well be outside of space too. you get into a potentially fatal car-crash type situation? go into your pocket universe, and come back out the next block over, or back at your house, etc.
I think you would also want to be able to bring in physical objects, though-- as well as have some kind of tether to the regular world, so that things like radio waves can travel through to your pocket dimension. this way, you could gain knowledge by bringing in books or your phone etc.

I couldn't trust myself with this power. If I had some sort of test or just something I'm extremely nervous for the next day I'll probably end up hiding in the pocket universe for an extremely long amount of time.

weapon summoning and controlling (honestly just melee for me) works just fine, because you keep them on you for battles and you can do cool tricks and things not to mention the obvious idea of summoning a dagger in someone's back or something...
seriously i fully imagined crazy combos with this super power, but more as a celestial domain concept (think Percy Jackson, the original greek/roman/norse gods, but... god of melee) and one cool idea is just ripping Terraprisma from Terraria and making a legendary shimmery cloak/elytra thing for extended swings, parries and all-around identity establishment (you have to establish trademarks as a superhero, you know!)
I feel like shapeshifting is quite underrated. You can just turn into what ever and you never age because you can turn into a younger version of your self, so essentially immortality.
Then i could easily pass as under 12 at the buffet for a low price
