Undying and Persist are extremely abusable abilities and can combo quite easily with a surpising amound of cards, specially with Ghave who comboes with everthing.
Tayam is hands down one of my fav commanders. at a cEDH/Fringe level it is a powerhouse, even playing a stax version it is resilient and doesn't need dead cards like sacrifice outlets. this list reminds me of old brews i did but lead to more dead cards less effective turns. hand's down impressive game all around and glad to see Tayam get another win on YT :)
I watched the stream a few day back and I remeber being hyped as the stream was so long and I thought that meant several games. Oh boy was I wrong. I stuck with it till the fat lady... the Moth sang and it showed the power of locking people out of there commander.
Slowly catching up episodes, one of the most interactive matches you guys have put out and I loved it! I liked the somewhat different set of cards and ThOracle actually been used for value instead of the win! Congrats and many thanks from France 🇫🇷 !
9 turns in Comp is long asf, games usually only go up till like 6. The reason the time length is so long even though the turn count isn't is because of the interaction and thought involved
Tayaaaaaam I DONT HEAR THE INTRO, FINALLY A BIT MORE TAYAAAAAM GAMEPLAY on the youtube i dont even play him, he just looks sooo cool. ehrm. okay now onto actually watching this video
My rashmi control cedh. Uses narset + teferi's puzzle box combo to hell bend the table. As well as naru meha + sunscorced desert+ ghosly flicker for infinite damage. Heres my list. www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3342795#paper
I don’t use a single wheel effect in my XYRIS deck, instead opting to focus on card draw based around my creatures and snakes to draw win cons and answers. It can be really easy to draw your deck when your commander by itself isn’t a threat, as it also draws others cards, thus making them want you to hit them to gain card agvantage. I find it weird people only tend to use wheel effects with this commander as there is so much more you can do with him considering the vast amount of options one has with Temur.
I don't know why I never asked this before, but do you proxy cards? I noticed Nate's Sylvan Library and was, "Wait, what? That's not out yet!" *edit* (The Sol Ring too) If so, are there any solid resources that you'd suggest to do so? I've been wanting to do this with my playgroup, but nobody has really put in much effort to find a best answer - especially with COVID and playing via Spelltable. My last attempt was sub-par and led to cards not scanning properly on the tool. :|
Right now we've been using mtgprint to do our proxies. We used to use mtg press but I beleive they stopped supporting the site because it doesnt have a lot of the newer sets. It usually costs about 7-8$ to print out a whole deck and they all look just like regular cardsi would really recommend trying out proxying. I cant even tell you how many cards I used to buy and then take them out of my decks a game or 2 later cause they didnt work how I thought they would. Proxying let's me really test out cards before spending any money on em.
@@Sliver_Boi @Adam Thanks a ton for this response. I'll definitely try to see if our playgroup will do the same. Is there a method for printing the cards themselves you use? (Local printer, something at home, etc?) I think that's the biggest hurdle, to be honest. But if there's a tried and true method, I wouldn't mind setting something up that our group could use internally.
@@IonFONE sorry about the late response, youtube didnt notify me about your response. We use our local staples to print our proxies. It's a lot of colored ink so I wouldnt recomend trying to print from a personal printer.
Getting your Enter the Infinite countered by Swan Song must feel pretty bad. On the flip side, countering an Enter the Infinite with a Swan Song must feel pretty great.
Can someone please explain to me why Joseph didn't remove the counters from his Ominous Seas earlier? They would have eventually been bounced with the cyc rift, but I don't see why he held onto those counters
Nate could have won at 14:34 right? play Tayam, add counter to wall of roots, activate Tayam, returning necromancy, looping Leonin Relic-Warder, making infinite counters with carrion feeder and infinite mana with eartcraft
Wait, how does that interaction with Geralf's Messenger and Luminous Broodmoth work? Looking at the reminder text for Undying and the rule text for the Broodmoth, shouldn't the Messenger return with both a +1/+1 counter AND a flying counter? It doesn't stop the +1/+1 counter just because it gained a flying counter... Unless they changed the rules text for Undying?
Sorry for the year-later reply, but basically, once either of the triggers resolves, the card is no longer in the graveyard, so the other effect doesn't find it. There's a few special cases where an effect can find a card that has moved zones, and effects that trigger on a zone change (such as dies triggers) are one of those special cases - but only if the card is in the zone that event moved it to. The effects can find the card after it goes to the graveyard, but not after it moves _again_ to the battlefield due to the first one of them resolving.
correct me if I'm wrong but when you cast Sevinne's Reclamation with flashback it goes to exile right? It doesn't matter if it's a Delay or other counter like Remand, it's part of the flash back ability.
That's true, but Delay is moving it to exile anyway, so the replacement from flashback doesn't do anything. It will still get the time counters and gain suspend. Also, in this game it was cast from hand, not flashed back.
Wouldn't Joseph draw every time Geralf's Messenger got sacrificed at the end, potentially drawing into an answer? It does hit the graveyard before coming back right?
Joseph stopping 3 wins within one turn cycle... my God that both makes me hype and also makes me cringe remembering the days that nothing I'd cast would resolve
The second person to not win with leonin and the second one not to respond to the naturalize, 1st the carrion feeder could had sac the leonin, giving it a +1+1 counter killing jace , the second leonin could die to the goblin bombardment and kill the priest of titania.
I was under the impression that Mardu Farm is an Ad Nauseum deck. Am I wrong about this? Or do you all tend to stay away from Ad Nauseum to make it more casually competitive rather than straight competitive?
I don't get how Nate won. I get that he sacked his Geralf M and according to the narrator, Nate puts the Broodmoth trigger on the stack first and therefore gets a flying counter. However, the narrator then proceeds to say the undying does NOT trigger. What? Just because the broodmoth triggered, it cancels undying???
Don't you feel you are missing the fun of commander? There is not that much interaction besides counterspell and everyone is comboing off in his corner .The games are just about the one who succeed first his infinite combo.
For us, at least me I cant fully speak for everyone else, we have fun seeing who can force through the walls of interactionthe other people have put up to get their win through before anyone else can. I know a couple of us definitely do miss and enjoy playing classic battlecryiser beat face commander, but this style of play is still enjoyable for us. And since we try to be casually competitive we all try to sneak in a few personal cards that are more on the fun side than the truly competitive side, to lighten up our games a bit when we draw them.
God I hate drannith magistrate. It makes these games so homogenous and boring! The format is called Commander, and I’m only getting to see 1/4 of them.
Nobody:
Goblin Sharpshooter: So anyway, I started blasting
Compost did a lot of work this game. Also that fetch into mystic sanctuary to get back mental misstep was impressive!
Luminous Broodmoth and Geralf's Messenger... I didn't see that coming.
I run it in my tayama deck. Its a good win con.
Undying and Persist are extremely abusable abilities and can combo quite easily with a surpising amound of cards, specially with Ghave who comboes with everthing.
i didn't know that combo exist... for the first time in months i am excited to play my ghave deck...
So happy to see Tayam getting some love, one of my favorite underrated combo commanders.
Tayam is brokennnn
Goblin sharpshooter went on a rampage

Great game! Love the fighting and clawing for position and you have easily the best play by play narration in edh content.
Geralf's Messenger + luminous Broodmoth loops? NEAT!
I love that “The length may look long” when it’s less than most other EDH channels I watch. Could fit two or so of these in a CK episode
I love the abzan love. Tayam is such a cool commander
Tayam is a powerhouse :D
I appreciate the effort and time you guys take to give us something awesome to watch. I am grateful to be along for the ride ❤
THANK YOU FOR SOMEONE FINALLY PLAYING A TAYAM DECK!!!!!!

Joseph, Hater of Fun.
Now, that's a title with a backstory HAHAHAHA
Wow, what a game! All over the place. Really fun to watch. Great editing and great commentary. Really fun interaction and a lot of back and forth.
Nate could have exiled the compost permanently when he cast Leonin at 10:25
Joseph, the Anime Stopper. Well done, nice game :)
Slowly catching up episodes, one of the most interactive matches you guys have put out and I loved it! I liked the somewhat different set of cards and ThOracle actually been used for value instead of the win! Congrats and many thanks from France 🇫🇷 !
Heroic job editing too!
I remember this game from the stream. It was very fun to watch
"Longest game we've ever recorded"
The game: 9 turns.
Do y'all, like, play commander?
Number of turn and length of time are not the same thing.
9 turns in Comp is long asf, games usually only go up till like 6. The reason the time length is so long even though the turn count isn't is because of the interaction and thought involved
What a COOL game! Unconventional combos, value, control. Cool.
First exciting game you guys posted in a while!
This was fantastic. Lots of awesome plays, and a unique finish. Fantastic.
This was really fun to watch! Well done editing it down so well
At 21:40 the pyroblast is referred to as a Red Elemental Blast, it does not change anything here but it's a small mistake I wanted to point out.
Sounds like Joseph
Wow that is a great game and just how I want a cEDH game to go.

Xyris "experimenting" with wheels... wonder what that outcome will be lol
Tayam was a deck I was just putting together. It's good to see it in action!
5:04 "Adam draws a car" 🚗
I believe it’s pronounced “tie-om” But that “Jur-alf” is spot on
I was laughing so hard at the first pronunciation! and yes, the Jur-alf was spectacular!
Amazing game! Really good one, very entertaining to watch.
This was one of the most fun games Ive seen in a very long time. :D
Oh boy half an hour, I assume there'll be stax?
yep. thanks to Magistrate
I mean yes? But honestly it was more the lack or removal that dragged this out.
Loved this match! 💯
How did Joseph go from 9 to 7 cards in hand at 12:13? I don't see any cards entering his grave due to discard...
You missed a counter at 20:26. Which could have made things a bit different the next turn, but probably wouldn't have
Tayam is a beast I’m excited to see how they do
Agreed! That was A game! Keep it up guys!

Why didn't Adam just take out Joseph at 29:40? Is Nissa's ability that important?
