+Dr. J's Videogame Nonsense. How many hard drives and ssds can this motheboard hold do you guys know i am thinking about getting a new pc and this is the motherboard i kind of want to get
This thing looks custom made for the Fractal Design R4 Arctic White and NZXT H440 plus a few Phanteks and Coolermaster cases. Good work, Asus marketing.
craig1287 White Enthoo Pro $100 White Phanteks PH-TC14PE $100 Asus X99 Deluxe $400 16 GB Kingston HyperX Fury White edition 1866 MHz (surely there is faster RAM available) $175 minimum $380 CPU around $1150 with no drives or peripherals werf Edit: my bad, X99 is DDR4 only. Add another $100 to your RAM cost, and forget the color-coordination.
i just upgraded my ram so im only looking for a new cpu , gpu, and motherboard seeing as i have a i5 2320 3.0ghz quad core. with a gtx 550 ti and 16 gb of Gskill ram.
KillerFugu the motherboard i currently have doesn't support DDR4 ram and the mother board i just ordered still only supports ddr3 ram mainly because i dont see ddr4 ram being fully needed for a few years yet. and there are so many options for ddr3 ram were as ddr4 is expensive and not much to choose from. the motherboard i got was a SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK S, im going to buy the cpu and gpu once i save up more money.
brandonhughes7 Awesome heard good things about the sabertooth mobo's. I'm going to upgrade to a DDR4 computer this winter, the DDR4 is the same price for DDR3 RAM that I got 2 years ago so I don't mind that.
Great motherboard, nice video! I'm just wondering, where I actually can buy the Asus motherboard accessories like the thermal sensors. I really couldn't find it wether in the web nor from a local pc seller. Could you give me a hint (link)? Thanks! Phil
Such a beautiful board, but got some flaws. One, mine stopped working, got RMA and getting new one soon. Two, if you are running a 5820K and 2xSLI, the bottom card will cover up all those ports at the bottom of the board, I personally could no longer use the case mounted USB3 front header as the plug was too big. It also makes your CMOS reset hard to get to. PITA if you are having BIOS issues. Thirdly, it only comes with a tri-sli bridge, which is flexible and bright orange, which is really not in keeping with the colour scheme at all. You will need to buy a new bridge if you are only running dual SLI. Fourth, that extra fan header module is cool, but the original version of the board was meant to ship with a sticky pad to let you mount it. Retail version of the boards now do not, and instead are fitted with screw mounts that fit NO standard screw spacing. In my build I had to mount by one screw only and sort of let it flap about. There are a lot of teething troubles with X99 right now and the deluxe has a lot of them, so factor that in to any purchase.
Mirandorl Thanks! Aesthetically the Deluxe looks better then the Rampage V in my opinion. Being I already own a Hero red & Black MB the deluxe seems to be the best choice.
X99 was under NDA (Edit: not the actual specs but the X99 boards release date), meaning all the reviewers couldn't talk specifics and release review information about it until today. When the NDA lifts, reviewers release all of their content as fast as possible to make sure they get the most traction from viewers because they are the first to release that information and thus most people that are interested in that stuff watch those as soon as it's out. That's usually the way it works for electronic hardware as well as softwares such as games.
when it comes to overclocking and 24/7 performance, how much of a difference is there between this board and the rampage and the lower end boards like the msi boards, krait - sli pro - raider...? just how much do the more expensive boards help when OC
I really want to go with the Deluxe, but I've heard about it failing all the time, causing issues, or some arriving completely dead. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Asus X99 Pro because it's gotten better reviews. Am I wrong about the X99 Deluxe? Correct if I am because I'd really prefer that mobo over all others.
With this new motherboard and processor does it do quicksynck. This is the newest platform and i would like to know if quicksynck is part of the video editing processing that is included with this new platform.
Where in the world does the thermistor cable attach to on this motherboard? I know that it's probably right in front of me, but I have had no luck in finding the damn thing. I don't think that the header on the motherboard is labeled at all.
They will both be the same when it comes to SLI and such. The Rampage Extreme is going to have slightly better components for overclocking. With the Deluxe you get a few extra options for connectivity... but that's about it. The Rampage is the better board.
Rampage via more extreme overclocks and more of the best of the best, and it has the sexy red too. I personally prefer the clean white of the x99 deluxe.
X99 is a workstation/enthusiast platform. To start with, m-ITX only has 2 memory slots whereas X99 has 8 memory slots. X99 has numerous PCI-E lanes and m-ITX only has one. There's a couple reasons.
it`s working great, except for one remaining strange behavior,When starting up from a power off state, the system mysteriously reboots one time after a few minutes. Only one time. After that it runs perfect. You can put it to sleep, wake it up, and it never happens again. Only after starting from a power up. Has anyone else experienced this? Its not terribly bothersome but I would like to know whats causing it
This, the 5820K and 16 GB DDR4 RAM is my current upgrade plan. Going from a m-ATX board with a i5 3450 so :/ But I did upgrade to the EVGA ACX SC 780 Ti this spring, looks good, and kinda like this motherboard :3 Guys, should I get 8x2 or 4x4 RAM? Is there really a big diffrence? And will a RM 850 Watt PSU cover it? I think it will, but its best to be sure. Might get cooling at some point (H100i i guess)
4x4 but if you want to save ram slots then 8x2. There is a huge difference between dual channel and quad channel ram. Getting 4x4 will improve performance very significantly!
TheCoDzillaPlayer i really don`t know a good looking one but if you have the money you can do a custom water cooling loop which looks sick. Only good looking well performing one I know is the corsair h100i! Also 850w is perfect for future upgrades and for the whole system! :D
Tek Syndicate Tek Syndicate i am planning to but this x99 deluxe so will it support asus gtx 760 dc 2gb gddr5 ?? or is there any other graphic card you will recommend in that price range ., and i will be connecting the pc to 65inch Samsung hu9000
rampage is a better gaming board. the delux it more consumer ready. teh x99-e WS has the most reliable parts, but less features like wireless or the OC panel.
how good is the audio quality? I see everyone uses mac for audio, and i wonder im into video so i need something like this that can handle a lot of power for video but i also need great quality audio so would this come close to mac in regards to audio??(dont know why but everyone says mac is great for audio) does anyone know?
What do you mean by 'Mac'? Did you mean Mac like ones of Apple's products or Mic. But if you mean Mic, if your going to start making Videos I recommend the Blue Snowball.
No no, i mean i dont know if you have heard that mac... as in apple, the brand is really great with audio quality... you know tons of producers use it. the equipment they use with the mac like protools inter whatever thingys they sound great in mac.... im talking about the mother board since the mother board in mac must be great at handling audio... my question is would this mother board handle audio nearly as good as a mac computer motherboard? sorry if im confusing
So, your wondering if the audio quality for Apples Mac's motherboards are great? Hmm... If you work with lots of audio programs & that sorta thing, I think your fine. Apple's iPods & iPads have great audio quality so I believe, it will be the same. Sorry, if I sound confusing or I it looks like I don't know what you meant.
Ops, sorry. I can't edit my comment, so yeah. Umm... Mac's audio is great, it really depends if you want something that's not that expensive of a motherboard and still want good quality or you can have a budget of whatever & go with the best Audio quality motherboard. I mean, like I guess their close some how but X99 might just
very nice an functional M/B one thing it is lacking , illuminated IO shield this why i am considering moving away from asus an changing to gigabit X99 platform M/B they are packed with all the the candy an then some...

1.37 Am I THAT high right now?
Loving these new boards! looks amazing and can only hope the style moves onto the sky lake micro architecture! which is my next upgrade
Anyones seeing the flickering?
1:36 We need more infinity!
Thought the weird flickering was my gpu going bad, went back in the video and it repeats in certain spots.
This thing looks custom made for the Fractal Design R4 Arctic White and NZXT H440 plus a few Phanteks and Coolermaster cases. Good work, Asus marketing.
It is a very pretty mobo. I'll probably be getting it for my next build.
craig1287 White Enthoo Pro $100
White Phanteks PH-TC14PE $100
Asus X99 Deluxe $400
16 GB Kingston HyperX Fury White edition 1866 MHz (surely there is faster RAM available) $175
minimum $380 CPU
around $1150 with no drives or peripherals
werf
Edit: my bad, X99 is DDR4 only. Add another $100 to your RAM cost, and forget the color-coordination.
This is one sweet board, both by features and looks
Did you divide by zero at 1:36 ?
I lost it 1:40 when the OBS infinite tunnel appeared XD
This and the new 5930K!
Orgaaaaasssm!!!
one of the best motherboard design
I would have preferred that M.2 port on the backside of the board instead of designing a vertical mount on the front.
JJ looks noticeably better than ever
No idea if I'm late on this, but what's with the glitchy frames lately (in the last I don't know how many videos)?
i haven't upgraded my motherboard for 5 years and this is going to be the upgrade i go with.
new cpu and ram then :)
i just upgraded my ram so im only looking for a new cpu , gpu, and motherboard seeing as i have a i5 2320 3.0ghz quad core. with a gtx 550 ti and 16 gb of Gskill ram.
brandonhughes7 Ah a upgrade would be nice then. If you just got some RAM did you change your mind, or did you grab some DDR4?
KillerFugu the motherboard i currently have doesn't support DDR4 ram and the mother board i just ordered still only supports ddr3 ram mainly because i dont see ddr4 ram being fully needed for a few years yet. and there are so many options for ddr3 ram were as ddr4 is expensive and not much to choose from.

guys and men are NOT the only ones building using or thinking about getting this motherboard k thanks
Video is 17:01 long! HL3 confirmed due to Star Trek reference!
1:35 WARP SPEEEEEEEED
Hahaha 1:35 just cracked me up!
Whats with the return of dip switches
Finally we got rid of the gold!!!
It's not that bad. The X79 and Z97 ones actually looked good IMO.
Infinite Zero Idk, I really didn't like them, especially as the Z97 ones had really brown PCB. Maybe wouldn't be as bad if the PCB was black
Being Honest here, this looks damn amazing!
Probably will buy this (in next few years tho).
Er... the video seems a little corrupted with constant little bits of errors in the video footage, audio is fine though.
Price?
Great motherboard, nice video! I'm just wondering, where I actually can buy the Asus motherboard accessories like the thermal sensors. I really couldn't find it wether in the web nor from a local pc seller. Could you give me a hint (link)?
Thanks!

Now we only need a Gray/Black Thermal armor for maximum swaginess

+Mirandorl Thanks for posting user experience. I'm contemplating getting this board over the Rampage V Extreme.
Stellar lupus You're welcome, hope you get a nice board :)
Mirandorl Thanks! Aesthetically the Deluxe looks better then the Rampage V in my opinion. Being I already own a Hero red & Black MB the deluxe seems to be the best choice.
Does it fly?
Yes
Will that fan extension module work with the Maximus VII Formula?
Where is the x99 formula or subertooth?
WHATS WITH ALL THE X99 MOTHERBOARD VIDEOS?
X99 was under NDA (Edit: not the actual specs but the X99 boards release date), meaning all the reviewers couldn't talk specifics and release review information about it until today. are These 10 usb 3 ports native or with a hub?
Will I be able to use my SoundBlaster Z with this motherboard?
I really want to go with the Deluxe, but I've heard about it failing all the time, causing issues, or some arriving completely dead. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Asus X99 Pro because it's gotten better reviews.
Am I wrong about the X99 Deluxe? Correct if I am because I'd really prefer that mobo over all others.
The X99 Deluxe is a higher end version of the Pro. There's no reason it's less reliable as it uses generally all the same components and bios.
With this new motherboard and processor does it do quicksynck. This is the newest platform and i would like to know if quicksynck is part of the video editing processing that is included with this new platform.
whats up with the video quality in these videos?
are all the asus x99 boards 8 slots?@.@
1:37 dafuq?
10Gbit or USB 3.1 ddr4? does it support Linux kernel 3.17rc2 certified?
does it support up to DDR4 3200?
Where in the world does the thermistor cable attach to on this motherboard? I know that it's probably right in front of me, but I have had no luck in finding the damn thing. I don't think that the header on the motherboard is labeled at all.
Found out that it was right there, but there was nothing anywhere that told me where to put the damn thing.
How come all the new boards have like no options for display inputs on the I/O???
Why? Obviously the people who are getting this are going to use a dedicated graphics card
no igpu on the cpu...because real men don't need a fake gpu. they buy one.
they expect you to have a graphics card if you decide to pay that much money for a board
Because the chipset doesn't have any cpus with gpu built-in. Yes, people using paying this much will have a dedicated unit.
This or Rampage V for gaming and productivy?
They will both be the same when it comes to SLI and such. The Rampage Extreme is going to have slightly better components for overclocking. With the Deluxe you get a few extra options for connectivity... but that's about it. The Rampage is the better board.

Y are the usb 3.0 internal connections facing upward? Noob Move leads to bad cable management
Wheres mitx?
X99 is a workstation/enthusiast platform. To start with, m-ITX only has 2 memory slots whereas X99 has 8 memory slots. X99 has numerous PCI-E lanes and m-ITX only has one. There's a couple reasons.
Jwood013 The socket is simply to big, it's physically almost impossible, no one would pay $500 for a mitx board.
***** That too.
Whatever, ASRock's done it.
does ASUS ROG Front Base work with it ?
Can you use DDR3 DIMMS in a DDR4 mobo slot?
240pin vs 280pin ;) I think it's clear as day for the answer :)
Ah, thanks, I was not aware of the increase.
it`s working great, except for one remaining strange behavior,When starting up from a power off state, the system mysteriously reboots one time after a few minutes.

Almost 10 freaking years….. This was my dream board back in the day…. Now it looks like a budget atx board 😅
who socket ?
But I dont want to spend $1000 on a cpu
Get a 5820k or 5930k then or even a 4790k
UziCrew i never said a 4790k would work with this mobo, i said that if you dont wanna spend heaps on a cpu he should look at z97
BMO whats a good motherboard to do sli 980s with a 4790k cpu?
DrMwkilla im not an expert but i use an asus sabertooth Z97 mark s www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132414R
BMO ok thanks
For gaming the new chipset and processors are not worth to buy...
did anyone realise that the video was freaking the fuck out?
not sure anyone cares about profile stuff or about software suites
why would you want two Ethernet ports?
one for NAS and the other for internet. or whatever you want.
