I still rock an i7 5830k on my MSI X99S MPower Overclock Board (The Bumblebee) since 2014 and it will see 2025 in my use, I replaced the MSI GTX980 with an Asus RTX 3060 Ti Tuf Gaming OC 8 GB (The 3 fan model), And I am still happy.
Wish you would add a video on adding an M.2 NVMe SSD (Samsung Pro 950 for example) to the X99 motherboard (physical installation is easy) but show which drivers should be used (Samsung and are they compatible with the new rewritten version of Windows 10 Anniv. edition), what changes in the UEFI, and what step to do a virgin install of Windows 10 on the M.2 SSD.
i got a question. So when u overclock a cpu lets say I get another cpu does the bios automatically overclock that one as well or does it reset on cpu change.
Buenas por que Mi Gamer Pc X99 Series no me arranca desde el boton de Inicio y que funcion tienen los botones de la placa debajo de la targeta de Video que dicen Power y Reset.Gracias
It always seems like Carey goes back on stuff he says on his own channel when he's on NewEgg TV. On his channel he's against overclocking... I'm so confused.
In my opinion, Carey wasn't the best person for this video, and JJ was probably thinking 'Dude...' the whole time. I feel more comfortable watching a video with JJ in it with someone who has SOME understanding of overclocking over someone who doesn't. Overclocking these days is literally child's play compared to years and years ago where you had to mess with multipliers and DIP switches etc...
Hello, I've been playing with overclocking for a while with my Asus Deluxe II and 6800k but it looks like a made a wrong setting and now it wont even take me to post and enter the BIOS. What I did was the tuning my overclocking then I set the cpu core voltage to adaptive with an offset of +0.010, the original voltage before setting to adaptive was 1.257V manual, trying to tune the cpu to 4.2ghz. Blck freq was 100, sync all cores to 42. Now it just shows the q code '33' then restarts, then turns off. I tried resetting thr CMOS with the clr_cmos button and removing the onboard battery to no luck. Q code according to manual: 32-36, cpu post memory initialization. Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much and will be waiting for your reply. what I tried extra: USB Flash bios, pressing power button with the PC unplugged to drain capacitors prior to clr_cmos. I can't revert it to manual since I don't have a screen and shuts it off after around 30 seconds. Did I fry the RAM, CPU, PSU? There are no cpu_led and ram_led issues here. I have an Asus X99-A and right now I'm working with 32 gb of RAM but I am trying to get 64 GB of RAM (I have 8 DDR4 of 8 GB 2666 mhz each) but I can't make the motherboard work with all the DDR4, my question is does it need to overclock the motherboard to get the 64 gb of memory? Or what should I do to make all DDR4 memories work? thanks
Check to see if your board and CPU supports 64Gb of RAM. Even if it does, your CPU / Memory may require more voltage or have to run at a lower frequency
What I'm really looking for is a automatic memory timing optimisation tool. Not just first timings, but all timings, include second, and third timings.
Ok my x99 RoG MB, isn't recognizing my DD4, I'm running 16gbs, task manager cpu-z and other like programs register I have 16 gbs but the board does not.
I ran that software on my i7 6800k it added 1.68v to the CPU. Yep, should not even be possible but it did I saw it then instant shut down and the CPU was dead.
It'll be a problem really fast if you're looking to game, use resource intensive programs, edit videos, write papers, or really anything that you'd want a computer for. Pretty much all you;ll be able to do is browse the internet and play games that are years and years old.

You guys asked, and we've delivered!
Nice!
I want to see the new X99 Taichi!!
WTF?
I love the way ASUS makes there reps available.
Is JJ the only guy that works at ASUS?
he's the only guy you would need, i think he's pretty good.
The Dec 2016 issue of Maximum PC has a good tutorial on manual overclocking of CPUs and GPUs.
Why isn't this software included with the ASUS x99 Sabertooth motherboard?
I love this board
Great info for me as a newby!!!! Thanks for creating the video.
Great Video :) thanks for the information guys.
changing cache ratio putting 2 steps lower the ratio is actually improving performance
will you be over clocking your own computer now Carey?
I lol'd.
Asus has a New 990 AMD board that looks pretty good I would love for JJ to overclo0ck a 9590 in that board
You mean gigabyte? Also I wouldn't suggest investing money into a dead socket unless you already have the CPU.
Anyone knows what led lights are used inside the computer here 11:39?
There are LEDs on the motherboard itself and also a LED strip on the case.
Thanks Brother

What that overclocking tool call

Not available on Sabertooth X99 unfortunately
I have a Asus B85M-E/CSM mother board & Intel i5 6400 can I can I apply some of the over clocking steps
Diferent platform, different CPU architecture, and of course, neither of your motherboard and cpu is unlocked for overclocking.
In short: No.
No. Your CPU is locked.
why newegg can't ship to Asia?
Why send it back to where you got it?????
How do you recover when blue screen appeared. My windows will not start anymore. Just blue screen show up every time I restart the computer.
Harvz B u half to boot to bios
You half to
Jason cheever Or, you have to. Which half did you mean?

It's called AUTO. Use that.
will 4 way sli work on this for gtx 1080 titan * 4 ?
Sure and a total waste of money and time.

You blew it?
It’s makes me laugh how the software works for the demo. How ever for the consumer it crashes every 5secs lol without doing anything
Sorry I went with an ASRock X99 motherboard, I couldn't risk the chance with an ASUS board according to newegg reviews
TAGEtheMAGE ASUS got the worst customer service.
i own several asus rog products
had problems with half of them
ASrock has dropped off in popularity a tad from when i last bought one (Z77) but i'm not sure why, they've made solid boards for a long time now.

Yeah man my ASRock X99 OC Forumla has been rocking for some time now without problems.
...Essentially!
thanks man my computer now runs on 4.3mhz (6800k)
wish the 6800K could overclock
