I don't know what it is, but this videos are not only informative, they are fun to watch! The editing of the videos and the way Linus says/does stuff just kills it. Prime example is 1:19. "We just have to have the SPEED". Awesome job man to you and your team. Keep up the good work! Sub'd!

***** Oh, I see, thanks, but is the bitrate actually set in that manner? I watched a few youtube vids in 60fps and in 30fps on 1080p, and on the "stats for nerds", the approximate bitrate at 60fps was 10-12Mbps and for 30fps was about 5Mbps.
Man I don't even have this CPU but I'm watching this just because the quality of the videos are good and I watch to learn lol. Keep it up Linus tech tips team !
Just started OCing my system from 2015 built (and never overclocked), after figuring some stuff out on my own, this confirmed what I learned and told me I was in a good spot. Thanks for the affirmation that my RAM didn't matter as much and my CPU setting was about spot-on! Now for my GTX980... ha.
Linus for god's sake, use ArmA to benchmark CPU stuff. It's the one game out there that gives a fuck about your CPU and no one EVER uses it for gorramn CPU benchmarks. Seriously, you see more people benchmarking it for GPUs (a 750ti can play the game at ultra settings and get around 50+ fps) than for CPUs.
While I love ASUS motherboards, I just wish they came in more colors than just Black/Red :/ It's nearly impossible to do a Black/Blue build these days And yes, i know that appearance doesn't matter but I like to show off my internals especially if i do a custom watercooling loop
Just upgraded to a 4070 (my 970 died) and came to see if I could close the gap a little. Wonderful processor, certainly worth the money back in 2014, soon it will have served me 10 years daily use.
Nope, in fact it could do the opposite. By this I mean, if you have the knowledge to tweak the voltages and timings, you could keep the CPU at the same speed (Ghz amount) but give it a lower voltage than what is automatically given by the computer itself, putting a lower load on the CPU, lowering the temperatures, and so therefore extending its life. OR, you could keep the same voltage (therefore temperature) that your computer has automatically given, but gain more speed (Ghz) out of it.
SlavjanA It doesn't completely work like that power consumption wise but lower voltage in general does mean lower power consumption. Frequency though has to do with it as well.
SlavjanA You can always tune your turbo to not destroy your engine too :P , it's the same, i ran my i5 2500k on 4.5 1.27V for one and a half years and then it wanted more V to be working, i went from 1.27 to 1.30 to 1.33 now on 1.37V (3+ years now :P) but my noctua NH-D14 coundn't handle it. so i now run 4.4ghz on 1.32V .
Quetzalcoalt Damn wth, maybe your OC is unstable get intelburntest and just change the "threads" to 4 instead of the automatic "all", leave everything else as is ("times to run" on 10, "stress level" standard etc etc). After it completes, there's no error and it went fine, and your average temp across all of your CPUs stayed around 80C, then your system is stable. If it IS stable, then that's good, 4.4Ghz is fine tbh, all part of the silicon lottery :L
SlavjanA as i said u run 4.5 - 4.4 , 3 and a half fucking years, all day runing PC, never go over 76C on core in the summer!!! , and here it gets really hot. Back when i first test it for stability i ran prime and i passed 24 hours. Never had an issue until the 1.27 V wasn't enough 1 year. I've torched that CPU with everything. Live streaming game, and even did a C4D project that had to render for 7 days non stop.
+InfernoDroid Because unless you actually NEED the extra PCIe lanes, it's pointless to get. The chip is EXACTLY the same as the 5820k, with an extra 100mhz on base and boost clocks.
I have an 7 year old, DELL PC... And the only thing I can overclock is the Video Card (GeForce 9600 GT), I used MSI Afterburner and managed to get 5-10 FPS more in some games... still something :D My boss didnt pay me, I worked 7 months for $300($300 for all 7 months...not each month) for every $3000 my boss made I got $50... That is Bulgaria for you...(and I didnt work some stupid job, I worked in a PC Store/Service (the irony))
And I thought getting paid 250 € per month was the worst... Sorry to hear that dude, but hey, at least you're not the only one with a bad paycheck. No contract in my case though. Is it your first job? I'd consider trying to get a job somewhere else if I was you.
Checking in, halfway through 2019 and this CPU is still relevant. Currently running an i7-5820k @4.6GHZ, with 16GB 3200Mhz RAM and a 1060ti on an X-99 Deluxe board. Still haven't run into anything this beast can't handle.
@@somnisdreams I haven't played it in quite awhile, maybe more than a year, but it ran fine with a consistent frame rate @60fps iirc. The last time I played was before I got my 144hz monitor, so I should definitely try it out again and see how it does. Can't imagine there will be problems.
Jacob S My point is if you buy a asus X99 board with the best OC features you should be able to do this before. If someone wants to use this cpu for work no problem.
Very snobby attitude. People have to start some where. Maybe a softer tone would be better. Like, if you want to learn how to overclock, "I recommend using these components ... ". Why take such a negative attitude? Makes you sound like a JERK.
Some people might not want to OC at first, or have maybe had their PC built by someone who knows what they're doing. It's not like you NEED to OC this type of build anyways, plenty op at stock.
Thanks Linus! I got my 5820k running at 4.5ghz and staying under well under 70C running the ROG RealBench Stress Test with a top end tower cooler. I also got my Corsair Dominator Platinum clocked in at 3200mhz, amazing. The highest stable speeds I could get before this guide were 3.9ghz for the CPU, and 2666mhz for the RAM.
Bless you Linus - your channel is fantastic, well, when you consider if it was not actually there anymore, but hey, someone would probably take your place within a week - so just remember that... Yes, that you are nothing and worth nothing, because the moment that you stop, someone like me will take your place! Only joking, you are a credit to the tech and gaming world-wide community and I really appreciate your uploads, if I told you how many processors I have killed in my time, then you would understand why, but I will keep my embarrassing failures close to my heart and try to improve from teachers such as yourself. Oh, if anyone is considering overclocking an Intel processor, I would definitely consider taking one of their Performance Tuning Protection Plans, because they are well worth their asking price, I can assure you! Transit costs are included too, which if you do not know, in Europe at least, creates a divide in businesses, i.e. if you are granted an RMA from Intel, they cover the transit costs, however, other companies, such as Corsair and NZXT if I am 100% correct, do not cover transit RMA costs, and they expect you to ship to mainland Europe in 99% of cases, i.e. it simply feels totally unfair, when one buys a defective product - some businesses have pride, other businesses do not, i.e. some businesses do all that they can possible to correct the situation, even if they go bankrupt, and on the other hand, some businesses use the opportunity to be able to keep the profit margin that they made upon selling you the defective product by asking you to pay for the transit costs of having it replaced, which in many cases, costs as much as the original product actually cost in the first place. How does it all make one feel at the end of the day... Truly Awful! Well, what do you expect? Linus, you should do a video upload on Intel's Performance Tuning Protection Plan, because it is also a good opportunity for EU customers as it is for US & Canadian customers, honestly, Intel may be a little more expensive than AMD, but with little policies such as the one above, for an overclock-er, I would still say that Intel CPU's are still the way to go! Well, such policies and teaching videos from you Linus, make me still want to make them overclocking gains, because above obviously help to stop one from wasting an awful lot of money, i.e. overclocking insurance and overclocking guidance reduces the risks involved when turning up the speed of one's P.C. components! Without you Linus, someone like me would replace you in a heart-beat, so please do remember, you are really no good to anyone, because you can be replaced during your lunch break! Peace! Only Joking - your channel is priceless, which has actually made me think... How much is your channel actually worth... Because, the size that it is now, and the powerful platform that it is on - it must be worth quite a lot of money... Anyhow, I do not mean to be poking my nose where it is not wanted, so I will leave this episode of craziness at that - however, honestly, Intel's Overclocking Insurance is definitely worth a full video review. For, It is not like the community actually know about it, for it is actually a trial run from Intel, I do believe... However, if you ask me - overclocking insurance is the future! Nevertheless, the feeling that one can be replaced within a heartbeat is common under our current western governmental systems, which is alarming in a fundamentally underpinned capitalist society, especially with the amount of problems that we have to contend with due to selfishness and greed - to say the least! Phew! It must be my break time! Over & Out!
I've got this same board but with a 5930K and Kingston Predator 3000 ram and I've got it stable running at those settings. Hey LinusTechTips just to mention it: The first 5:40 min are only advertising for your other videos and the products. You can do that. But be aware that 6min are too long for advertising, for me. The 5 sec add on the beginning is totaly okay. But the 6 min today are over the top.
Overclocking guides are definitely something the LTT community should always put out. Now while I don't have Haswell-E I am still watching but hey Linus do you have a guide from the past showing how to overclock an socket 1155 cpu like the i5 2500k?
2 bad my rampage v extremes nice wifi adaptor causes a static noise in my sound probably because it's right next to the PCIe 4x lane where my soundblaster Z is fitted. The rampage V extreme has a lot of bugs that still have to be fixed. I also have problems getting trough my windows boot screen. Since the last bios that I flashed on there yesterday it's fixed (fingers crossed).
Hey Linus, starting to see your vids show up on RetailEdge for Intel. It's nice to have a well done video to watch than a slide show with music like retailedge used to only be. Keep it up!
great video guys! my personal experience is with my own 3930k on a rampage IV extreme. I definitely won the the silicon lottery with this chip as she easily handles in the 4.25 Ghz range, I've had it stable at 4.5 ghz but that's just a bit too high for me to be comfortable with... Oh I also found the H100i to not cool well enough so the cpu is on its own water cooling loop with two D5 variable speed pumps and an extra thick 360mm XSPC rad.
I have been watching your videos for a while and love them. I just wish you would slow down a little on the how to guides. I find myself having to re-watch certain areas because you go through them so fast.
Is he reading of a script? No way he can talk so perfectly without a single mistake, but even when he is reading it of a script it is incredible how fast he talks without mistakes!
Good thing that you guys decided to change 4K for 1080p 60fps. Who needs 4K when you don't get pain in your eyes with 30 frames per sec? Thank you again!
I think this is a really good videoguide. You guys make alot of good interesting videos, I know this is a old one, but hey, it does not make it less good :) Keep on the good job!

I've had a 2600k at 4.6ghz for almost 4 years, shows no sign of stopping and it's pretty much the same as any other intel quad core cpu in terms of performance. Best time to buy a cpu is right at the start of a new architecture life cycle.
Just used this to eek some more life out of this epic CPU. Best one I ever bought. Just stuck it at Linus' recommendation of 4.5ghz at 1.3V then stress tested it. That'll do me!
It took me a month to get my rig stable at 4.4ghz while running my ram at 3000mhz. I found that X99 is really temperamental but the end result is amazing. I'm running the ROG Extreme Rampage with G Skill 3000 and a 5960x with a Lepa 1600w and 2x R9 290x (reference). I found the key for this platform is to keep the CPU Strap 100 no matter what. My Ram would be unstable at anything else.... Just some friendly advice. Have fun overclocking. Oh and I would not trust nor use the auto overclock settings unless you want your stuff to burn out. If you set the CPU to 10ghz It will try to get you there... carefull.
Thank you for doing this video Linus. Thanks to this I know my x99 Deluxe is crap and called costumer service. No matter what overclock I choose whether manual or automatic or the amount will cause the board to give me a Legacy Boot error. Not the "DB" error that I should get if I overclocked incorrectly. Waiting for customer service to get back to me.
Overwhelming good explanation. Today is easy the over clock process; u ever try it in an intel286x2 processor at lighting speed of 133mhz over clocked changing cristals on the board tampering system bus and memory, u couldn't fail or it burn today simple doesn't boot, u had to calculate the harmonic increase before making changes on board or it wouldn't boot even on safe over clock % and if u make the soldering wrong may destroy the board in those days over clock was bad ass hard core today only budget core.
Great help! Thank you! I have reached 8500MHz on Asus software! I was wondering if it was a dream! 😂 Of course, it cannot go much over 4500 in stable clock.... 5820, X99-s, G.skill 3000 16Gb, btw
Lovin the recent comments. It seems like forever ago since I purchased my 5960x. I'm glad to know I paid top dollar but still don't need to upgrade for time to come. Might have been expensive but it paid off, as my machine is still relevant to this day. If you look at PCIe Gen 3.0 vs PCIe Gen 4.0 for the new graphics cards. PCIe 4 has little to no impact to the new rtx30 series performance. So, as a result, the pc I have today is still relevant for a bit longer. To a long life to our Intels, cheers.

@@v44n7 the corsair h110i, not sure of normal or gt or gtx, since it s going on 7 years of use next year. probably will have to change it soon, but i totally recomend aio watercooled coolers, with at least 2x140mm fans.
edit: next i'm planning to add another 2x140mm fans to the h110i's 280mm rad for a push pull configuration.
@ 01:27 Northwood P4 2.4C! You bring back memories. On Canterwood i875P, my trusty gamer / workhorse, ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe and "built by" ATI Radeon 9800-XT 8X Pro and TV-Wonder. DDR-667 @ 2.5-3-3-5. Those were the days of modern overclocking. 3.2Gb on air with copper.
I've been watching your videos forever and I just have to ask...why do you guys use a kitchen as a background?
Lack of space elsewhere :}
LinusTechTips Oh haha! At first I think it was green screened in, but the mineral oil video gave it away. I'm guessing you guys will have a new backdrop once you move to your new office!
I laughed after reading this. I never noticed that they were using a kitchen as a background.
So what does setting the cpu ratio limit to 36 have to do with the 125 mzh cpu strap?? Does it emulate a 125 multiplier that happens when you turn xmp on ?
100 x 45 = 4500
125 x 36 = 4500
I don't know what it is, but this videos are not only informative, they are fun to watch! The editing of the videos and the way Linus says/does stuff just kills it. Prime example is 1:19. "We just have to have the SPEED". Awesome job man to you and your team. Keep up the good work! Sub'd!
only draw back to youtubes new 60fps option is that you cant turn it off. on my i5-2400 with hd 2000 gpu i get so much stutter its not worth watching. :-( i guess 480p it is.
I hope they implement a choice soon, it's no good suddenly doubling bandwidth requirement for a resolution and then not giving us a choice!
Thats intresting because in 720p60 my old core 2 duo laptop with an IGPU works perfect.
TheLameTechGuy yea i think it sucks but meh not that big of a deal its just my work computer so im not worried about it. i just miss 1080p lol
I would think it would be able to run it if my laptop can run it smoothly.
Linus your a saint! I just purchased a system with the 5960x and following this guide got it to 4.6Ghz, Cheers mate from the UK.
Why am I watching this? I will never have x99 :(
me too :'(
ha ha u mean u wont unless u really need it lol but one can dream
Because Linus.
Because tech.
Because these videos are good.
maybe you'll get it 4 years from now. i got my x58 build 2 years ago lol
I'll sell you my X58 comp I just replaced with X99 if you like!
Man I don't even have this CPU but I'm watching this just because the quality of the videos are good and I watch to learn lol. Keep it up Linus tech tips team !
Same :)
9:52 In the first second I thought that my pc has crashed! :P
The game can run better on a Pentium G3220 than an i7 5960x. No, I wouldn't say it's a good benchmark.
Arma is poorly optimized. I would never ever use badly optimized games for benchmarking at all.
or use BeamNG.Drive more CPU intensive game
Or use like a strategy game they are fairly cpu intenseive.
I bet it was just easy to use synthetic bechmarks since they were doing them anyway for stability testing.
Yes! 60fps Thank you Linus! now there's no more annoying motion blur when you move your hands or talk. Looks so much more fluid & real-to-life!
While I love ASUS motherboards, I just wish they came in more colors than just Black/Red :/ It's nearly impossible to do a Black/Blue build these days
And yes, i know that appearance doesn't matter but I like to show off my internals especially if i do a custom watercooling loop
From what I've read and seen the ASRock mobos don't seem too bad and they come with a black/blue look!
***** this is a very true statement!
You can always get a all black mobo and plastidip other components, i have done it numerous times that way i can stick with my prefered manufacturer.
What? Their whole M5A series is black/blue. I know it´s not high-end and AMD but... Black and Blue :)
Well Gigabyte, MSI, and even EVGA are just as good as ASUS mobos, so you can use any of those 3 other brands for your colour mix.
Just upgraded to a 4070 (my 970 died) and came to see if I could close the gap a little. Wonderful processor, certainly worth the money back in 2014, soon it will have served me 10 years daily use.
10 years for me also and runs like 1st boot, did you get new card I also have 970 and thinking going into 3060
OC is like upgrading your car, put a turbo in it , add 150-200hp more but it will break sooner.
Holy Cow the 60FPS is freaking awesome! All reviews needed in that!
I rarely see videos with the 5930k, which bugs me because I just got one
It's basically the 5820K but with more/ faster cache and more pci - e lanes
+InfernoDroid im in the same boat, probably going to end up using this guide.
+kiran seehra Actually, the core and turbo freq are slightly higher and more PCI-E lanes, but cache and cache freq are identical.
William Brown Oh shit it is, I saw that it had 20M of cache on overclockers
+InfernoDroid Because unless you actually NEED the extra PCIe lanes, it's pointless to get. The chip is EXACTLY the same as the 5820k, with an extra 100mhz on base and boost clocks.
That's exactly me right now with the same exact setup running 4.6
Wow most jobs here like working in grocery stores you get like 150 a week
niq872 I work in a grocery store in Canada around 30 hours a week I make 500 - 700 dollars every two weeks.
its better than mine 8400 GS
TheIronlefty I feel you bro...
I am using 5820k in 2024 and have no issues with it.
hell ya - me too!
Same here, I also have the same Aio, goin on 10+ yrs (mind you I’ve modded it)
whats the skylake uber-enthusiast chip gonna be called? The X199?
Probably X179 since X79 was using the same generation of CPUs as Z77
l__T__l eh
+l__T__l Before X79 was X59, and probably X39, so..?
+Vinyl Scratch X58 came before X79, and X48 before X58. :-)
Probably still X99. Broadwell-E will be on X99 100% and Skylake-E would probably still be on the same socket
Checking in, halfway through 2019 and this CPU is still relevant. Currently running an i7-5820k @4.6GHZ, with 16GB 3200Mhz RAM and a 1060ti on an X-99 Deluxe board. Still haven't run into anything this beast can't handle.
I know right, I'm right along with you, mine has been running just fine with my 2 EVGA 980ti in SLI and I'm still happy and content.😁
Yo how does GTA 5 run?
@@somnisdreams I haven't played it in quite awhile, maybe more than a year, but it ran fine with a consistent frame rate @60fps iirc. The last time I played was before I got my 144hz monitor, so I should definitely try it out again and see how it does. Can't imagine there will be problems.
I think if you buy an enthusiast platform cpu and can't oc without a help video you shouldn't have it.
There's plenty of people that can afford a 5820k and benefits from it. Your logic is very flawed.
Jacob S My point is if you buy a asus X99 board with the best OC features you should be able to do this before. If someone wants to use this cpu for work no problem.
Cyril Fo You never mentioned any motherboards in your OP so how could that be your point?
Very snobby attitude. People have to start some where. Maybe a softer tone would be better. Like, if you want to learn how to overclock, "I recommend using these components ... ".
Why take such a negative attitude? Makes you sound like a JERK.
Some people might not want to OC at first, or have maybe had their PC built by someone who knows what they're doing. It's not like you NEED to OC this type of build anyways, plenty op at stock.
I don't have alot of the hardware in any hardware videos, but all this info will help me get into the field and become a pro like linus :D
wow ever since linus hit a million subs. his channel has been growing like a wildfire!
May 1st 2020 still using this chip.. long life with this one. @4.3
Thanks Linus! I got my 5820k running at 4.5ghz and staying under well under 70C running the ROG RealBench Stress Test with a top end tower cooler. I also got my Corsair Dominator Platinum clocked in at 3200mhz, amazing. The highest stable speeds I could get before this guide were 3.9ghz for the CPU, and 2666mhz for the RAM.
thanks linus tech tips... with you guys videos, i can learn do build a pc correctly.. keep it movin man.
Just bought a 5820k setup. Great video to follow along with! Thanks!
Over & Out!
im going to be upgrading my computer to the 5820 so i am grateful you did this video.
I've got this same board but with a 5930K and Kingston Predator 3000 ram and I've got it stable running at those settings. I don't want to push it any further because I don't have my full liquid cooling setup running yet but I think I can push it further! Thanks Linus from your biggest fan is Regina
January 2020 still on i7 5930k @ 4.4 all good!
Just installed this and didn't know how to overclock with the asus motherboard. Thanks a lot man.
I've been waiting for this ever since my 5820k arrived!! Thanks Linus+team :)
Finally!! Thanks Linus I was looking for x99 overclock guide.
Just bought this processor, 32gb ram, Asus x99 sabertooth and a Corsair liquid cooler for $400, can't wait to build it once I get it
I was a bit worried that my 3060 would get bottleneck issues from my 5820k. Not at all! I'm very surprised at just how much power my 5820k has. I built my PC for engineering simulations while in uni, but now, it's a sick gaming machine!
I have same CPU i try too get an i7 6950x cheap and them ill be ok for the next 5 years 😂👍
LINUS, I know this one's been around for a while, but, I HAVE to say... You're OC Tips in this specific quickie, is EXCELLENT!!! Thanks again ~ Stay Orange ;)
cool video, a tip if you are unstable make sure you are NOT running a 3xxx version BIOS, i have found them very unstable (google for it many others have to) go for 2101; much more stable (3303 and 3404 causes random reboots even without any overcloocking)
Wow! 15 min video go through how to overclock using ROG X99 board! Impressive! Thumbs Up!
I got the same motherboard, and chip, with the 280L Nepton - am going to play with this when i get home in about 1 Hour :-) thanks!
Nice timing on the video. I just picked up a i7-5820 last night.
Always Love your videos helps me a lot I have a Alienware area 51 R2 with a 5820k and 16 gigs of corsair dominator platinum ram running at 2800mhz and 2 gtx 980s and your over clock video here really helped me over clock to 4.5ghz and have everything running super smooth thanks a lot Linus!
Thanks a lot for this guide Linus! I just got done putting together my system using the Asus ROG Rampage V and the i7 5930K and decided to try to OC my cpu for the first time. You were very clear and thorough. Thanks to your guide I was able to bring this already awesome cpu from 3.5GHz to a stable 4.2GHz. This thing runs lightning fast :D
thanks linus just got this board for my new build
I rock the bigger brother the i7 5830k on my MSI X99S MPower Overclock Board (The Bumblebee) since 2014 and it will see 2025 in my use, I replaced the MSI GTX980 with an Asus RTX 3060 Ti Tuf Gaming OC 8 GB (The 3 fan model), And I am still happy.
Hey LinusTechTips just to mention it: The first 5:40 min are only advertising for your other videos and the products. You can do that. But be aware that 6min are too long for advertising, for me. The 5 sec add on the beginning is totaly okay. But the 6 min today are over the top.
Great Video!
I was waiting for this to tune mine, because I'm a noobie, but thanks to you got the 5820k to a solid 4.9GHz
I'm so jelly. Linus gets to play with all this cool stuff.
Thanks for this! Totally helped me get my bearings with my 5820k! Cheers!
Great video. Helped me overlock my system with similar setup as this one. Overlocked 5820k is awesome for 3D Rendering!
Good thing that you guys decided to change 4K for 1080p 60fps. Who needs 4K when you don't get pain in your eyes with 30 frames per sec? Thank you again!
Poor ol Linus makes that computer case look huge! LOL!
As usual...great videos! Keep em coming!
I managed to get 5.1ghz on my old 5820k with this guide and some fine tuning! It's still a good chip for actual games :D
i only manage 4,3ghz wtf....
Great video :)
I wonder what sort of users dislike Linus' videos?
2020 and still no problems 👌
I think this is a really good videoguide. You guys make alot of good interesting videos, I know this is a old one, but hey, it does not make it less good :) Keep on the good job!
Thank you linus for this guide.
5820k
Evga ftw x99 board
2400 gskill
evga 1000w g2 psu
evga 780ti sc
corsair h100i
needed to push about 1.35v to get similar results though 4.4-4.5ghz without bclk touched
I've had a 2600k at 4.6ghz for almost 4 years, shows no sign of stopping and it's pretty much the same as any other intel quad core cpu in terms of performance. Best time to buy a cpu is right at the start of a new architecture life cycle.
I have the MSI GD-65 motherboard and I use the auto overclock feature and have been happy with that
Just used this to eek some more life out of this epic CPU. Best one I ever bought. Just stuck it at Linus' recommendation of 4.5ghz at 1.3V then stress tested it. That'll do me!
Great overclocking guide Linus!
May 2020 with 5960X overclocked to 4.6GHz 1.25V since 5 years now, doing well. Best CPU i've ever had!!!
If you set the CPU to 10ghz It will try to get you there... carefull.
Thanks Linus my 5930k will have a nice overclock :) Lucky for me I picked up one for $436 on the day before Cyber Monday.
Waiting for customer service to get back to me.
fantastic vid, still spot on for the 6900k, keep up the good work guys!!!!!
Of course, it cannot go much over 4500 in stable clock.... 5820, X99-s, G.skill 3000 16Gb, btw
Thanks Linus for the tech tips
Lovin the recent comments. It seems like forever ago since I purchased my 5960x. I'm glad to know I paid top dollar but still don't need to upgrade for time to come. Might have been expensive but it paid off, as my machine is still relevant to this day.
If you look at PCIe Gen 3.0 vs PCIe Gen 4.0 for the new graphics cards. PCIe 4 has little to no impact to the new rtx30 series performance. So, as a result, the pc I have today is still relevant for a bit longer. To a long life to our Intels, cheers.
you're finally doing it...
November 2020. Rocking my 5960X
