I honestly think that the way the Game Of Thrones series ended complicated the way he finishes this book because it now has to be perfect to make up for the disaster of an ending Dan and Dave gave us
Yes, and the more he thinks about making it perfect, the more tense and tight the flow of his mind is. So instead of flowing with his natural decisions, which we all liked, he's second guesses back and forth and starts certain sections from the beginning. Imagine when he originally wrote the decision to kill Ned stark. There was no stress he was on book one and had no pressure. That's the decision he wanted to make and that's fine. But now let's say he did plan on having Daenerys do an attack or bran be king.... He can't write it and flow it the same way he did back then, cuz there's pressure around these decisions now.... I wish I could tell him to just flow and write what he wishes
If it’s not about fixing the disaster of season 8, or the doom of Valyria, I really don’t care. The long night would have been cool to see too, the only issue is season 8 pretty much makes the threat pointless.
The main things I care about are: 1. The Long Night - This is where the true "big bads" of the franchise will be set up - The original Azor Ahai (AKA The Bloodstone Emporer AKA The original Night's King) and his Coprse Queen (who is a Stark) This would be a book accurate show, leaning in the incredible wealth George has written about this time period, and not something like Blood Moon where they took liberties with the plot. 2. The life and times of Aegon IV - Ie all the juicy Targaryen stuff. This would include everything that happens 131AC - 184AC 3. A Blackfyre Rebellion movie 4. The later half of Aegon V's reign - ie Summerhall 5. and perhaps most importantly, the show that picks the timeline up post-GOT Season 8 and includes all the previously omitted book characters, plots, plus everything we're about to get in Winds Of Winter. There's such an incredible amount of ASOIAF left on the table, there's categorically no way that HBO will allow GOT Season 8 to be the chronological end to the story. Young / Old Griff, Varys pulling the strings fro beyond the grave, House Dayne, House Reed, The Ghost Of High Heart, Lady Stoneheart, Garlan Tyrell, Leyton Hightower and his ensure family's plot, Arianne Martell and a Dronish plot, Jon and Arya's warging abilities and wolf, crypt dreams, the Weirwood Net, book accurate Euron's character and entire plot will have to be given to Victarian since HBO already killed off Euron, they can use Donel Greyjoy the scenes requiring Victarian's character. There's also the book accurate "The Others" who are icey white ethereal shadows and differ greatly from the HBO White Walkers, it's be a crying shame to leave them on the table. They could, in theory, bring Dany or other characters back from the dead; whilst I'd welcome those characters back, I feel it'd be a bit cheap to resurrect them. With Good writing, we can still get every single book storyline, and all the characters ending up where they do by the end of A Dream Of Spring, and work around certain characters already being dead, Bran already being King, and the White Walkers appearing to have already been defeated, these are only surface level hindrances During THIS show, the original "big bads" set up during the Long Night now return and have to be vanquished by the heroes of the story. This will give a cathartic moment where Jon Snow armed with Dawn battles the franchise's big villain in a final battle, something we were robbed of in Season 8.
The only thing I was interested in was the Winterfell prequel with the Long night and more Walkers. It would’ve been awesome. I don’t think the Dunk & Egg series is gonna be do good.
Throughout the entire series they talked about Roberts Rebellion. Can we please get a series about it! Starting with Ned & Robert leaving for the Eyrie as Jon Arryn’s wards, Jamie & Cersei as teenagers with Tywin in his prime! What drove Aerys II mad??
Honestly, House Targaryen fatigue is very VERY real. I would like to see a show that’s directly relevant to the GoT story. Seeing how Tywin evolved would be dope, esp how he destroyed House Reyne. I was always intrigued by the dynamic between him and his father.
I was so confused by the direction HBO took after GOT. Well...Kitt Herrington presently isn't interested & they want to keep w/the theme of the character w/him portraying Jon Snow...I can understand his hesitancy, given how grueling GoT twas for them, & how let down & disappointed all the actors were those last couple of seasons. Hell, look at what they're doing to HoTD atm - after the second episode of S2 Daemon is just some wondering yes man...the ppl aren't bowing to Rhaenyra until he bows proclaiming her his queen...its being squandered.
I'd accept all those mentioned in animated form, except Aegon 's Conquest. That's the one work I'd want to see as live action. A movie would be a short to tell the full story. Cold open, the dream which sends the family to relocate on Westeros. 6-8 episodes could tell the full & complete story. With CGI now a budget breaker, any and all other projects definitely should be done in animation
all these announcements but they heavily compromise HotD's pacing because the actual battles are "too expensive", none of these other series is really going to matter anymore if HBO f's up another show people are invested in...as if waiting 2 years for 8 episodes wasnt wack enough already
I would love for there to be a bunch of animated movies or mini series about what if. Like what if Arya didn't kill the Night king , what if Robert lost the battle at trident, what if Aegon never flew to west. I think those would make for good content
I’ve wanted to see what’s happened now that Jon & the Wildlings went north of the Wall, as a post-GOT show. I also want to see what’s happened with Arya going further west of Westeros & what happens to Sansa in the North? Sansa hadn’t married or had children by the time the show ended, so who will inherit Winterfell?!😊
Excited about Aegon the conqueror series. Safe to assume that’s the series everyone wants to see. The others not really floating my boat. Would like to a series about Yi Ti, not sure how much material there is for that though.
Nymeria was not a warrior. She was a great commander, strategist, and tactician, but not much of a fighter herself regardless of how the bards portray her in song. There were a lot of great female warriors under Nymeria's command, but the Princess herself was never the sort to put herself in a position when her own spear was needed on the front lines.
Many ASOIAF Prequels would be awesome to watch like for instance seeing Old Valyria in Nymeria and 10,000 ships just so we could watch The Valyrian dragonriders burn the Rhoynar & fight their water mages. Also, The Nights King & Queen origin ( Prolly Best For Halloween Special because its a scary story) and possibly even further to the First Long Night. So many Prequels possibilities that are somewhat laid out by George R.R. Martin already in this world of ASOIAF which contains hidden truths or misinformation. For example, in A Storm of Swords, in one of the BRAN chapters, it has old Nan telling Bran some of her stories. One of them was about the The Nights King & that he was an ancient Stark. Also, the books are a little related to the movie I loved as a kid, Dragonslayer. In terms of dragons, sacrifices in certain scenes, dialogs, Wizards & even lore. That aside, a prequel show is deserved for this alone- during one of Daenerys' candle dreams, she saw opal, amethyst , tourmaline, and jade. A reference to Emperors & Empress of The Great Empire Of The Dawn. As well as the Lion Of The Night (White Walker God?) & The Lady of The Light (Fire White God?) after turning their backs on man for the blood betrayal of the Amethyst Empress by her brother & the self-proclaimed Bloodstone Emperor. Even the possibility of Garth Greenhand helping him would be worthy of a prequel special, not to mention the whole backstory about the Children of the Forest's war with the First men. Incidentally, the Children of the Forest lived in other places besides Westeros before they almost went extinct & possibly still do live or hide in forests near Essos, and they were called The Ifequevron. There are so many possibilities to the Prequels and them being made poorly by HBO as well. George R.R. Martin, please call Jeff Bezos 🙏 See if he'll buy out your contract for Prime!

Probably because they had too be careful with how everyone was with the last season of GOT they Probably felt it had too be a Perfect script @HouseOfTheHybrid
OK, I could be completely wrong about this but I feel like what’s probably going to happen or what could happen is that they end up making a show that features Maisie Williams’ character,, Arya, exploring beyond where the all the maps stop. And considering the geography in the books are supposed to mirror real life maps somewhat, like Essos being the mythical version of the Middle East etc. I think that Arya will end up discovering like an Asian inspired empire. Maybe I’m out of the loop and this is already common knowledge, lol but that is what I predict.
i saw you on the afc east roundtable and found out ur a dolphins fan, as a jets fan you are my mortal enemy, as a thrones fan you are my closest friend lmao
If GRRM EVER finishes his series I'd love to see a TV show based on the last two books of ASOIAF. It should pick up with Jon in the snow bleeding out, the battle of Snow and the battle of Meereen. Just start there and recast the entire series with new actors.
@@MrMustache-yn4zmexactly it’s a lot easier to do animation. I’ve been saying this for years, either redo the entire thing but in animation or start off after when Jon dies and start it from there
It’s dying… because got 2 last books are not finished and we got played with the last season… now if those 2 last books come out it would be something else! It’ll live again!
Personally I could care less about the animated series. I’m sure I’ll watch them but not marking it on my calendar or anything. It’s kind of whatever, really wish they’d develop a series in old valyria. That’s what I want to see more than anything.
Time is a flat circle; The Children of the Forest & the White Walkers making that spiral pattern which I think means time. What has happened before will happen again.
The..this story is so deep and I love ❤ George you do you. Your doing trying in every way to expose the complete story. People need to understand its taken over 30 years to just get here. 😀😀 holy shite newbie been waiting for all of these blessings 😃 Dunk n egg....Big yes. NYMERIA. These 2 shows brings a lot together. His animated stories are the background. Almost like our lives.. in other words the background stuff we may. Or may not want to be around. Coolest part 🙂 it's all based on true history and historical fact 😀😀
Some of us have been waiting a lot longer than 30 years considering the first book came out in 1996. I wish the show had never happened. Then we might have gotten all the books.
As much as we all want to watch Jon Snow's new show fix and correct the mess D&D caused, I don't think we should rush into that yet. Once that show wraps up, it's pointless to watch all these prequels now.
Errybody saying finish 2 books , but the natural story just really on a longer scale than we really tuned to ,seasons last years , we are just in on the minutes and seconds.
I think the history about the first long night should be taken with a grain of salt. George has talked about how that event would be a "cultural bottleneck" for a society living during it. They would not be able to keep records and things like that when they are barely surviving. They probably had to burn a lot of their records for warmth. It is likely the history we know from that time is from word of mouth over the years and that stuff gets distorted. That being said, I would love to see it adapted too. I just think we shouldn't take the history we know about that period as completely factual.
I was to see the queen of dragons come back to life like Jon Snow, an the Lord's of light, an Arya sailing to the parts of the world, there would be so many stores to tell traveling a new world.
The show about Aegon the conqueror is where my hopes lie. Was glad they scrapped the Jon Snow spin off. Hoping we’ll get to find out what happens at Summerhall in the Dunc and Egg show.
@lizoyd18 I don’t. However if there is going to be a show I would prefer it to be about that part of the time line. That or Roberts rebellion. Sure they change em but at least with house of the dragon it is still worth watching. Just gotta hope the new ones are worth watching too. I think they will. I enjoy house of the dragon despite the changes. I did get irritated at some of the changes. Especially the changes in the blood and cheese story. The original plot would have definitely played better than the one they changed it to. And another pointless change when doing it right would have cost them nothing extra to do right.
Maybe GRRM has completed WoW or more, but contractually, he needs to honour a certain amount of time passing as it might impede on Dan & Dave’s profits? Just a thought.
I have a theory, he finished the books years ago but had a contract with the publisher and maybe HBO not to release the books before he dies to keep us all interested in the stories and waiting in anticipation of the last two books so nobody forgets about grrm. And in turn at hbo they let grrm try his hand at producing his world.
I'm going to tell ya'll a secret. Those books are done! They just won't get released until he passes away which is the way he wants it so he doesn't have to hear/deal with any negative fan backlash about it lol 😂😂
I just want George to finish the books man. He shouldnt be involved in anything else u til he finishes the series. Its selfish but hes getting old and id hate to have him leave us before he finished.
I think if they did some movies they would have the budget for the series that we really want. The Sea snake series should be a movie trilogy and Not animated.
Had HBO not thrown themselves into developing countless shows but fully focus on HOTD it would have had a much bigger budget and would've been a much better show and a much bigger success. They also put themselves into a position where they are trying to milk this as much as they can but to do that they need George and George keeps blabbing about all the shows that are in development instead of finishing the books.
Good luck writing a good show with less than 1 page of source material. These people are delusional. They forgot why the last few seasons of game of thrones failed. And even with source material, they still fumble (cough cough, house of the dragon).
They doing way too much, wayyyyy too much. Focus on a couple things not 100 things. It’s going to mess the brand up. They choosing quantity over quality and this is hurting the GOT universe. This series ended after game of thrones season 5. It’s lost to me and a lot agree as well.
The Golden Empire?! Why is that hard for HBO to make a decision?! Just make a sequel of Jon Snow. Or go back to The Long Night. All in the middle is just dust in the wind.

we need to have a tv series about the children of the forest forest
You know what’s really the most budget-friendly way to tell a story? A book.
Keep hearing "series confirmed" then turns sour.
i saw you on the afc east roundtable and found out ur a dolphins fan, as a jets fan you are my mortal enemy, as a thrones fan you are my closest friend lmao

WoW or N O T H I N G GRRM...
finish the bloody story
If GRRM EVER finishes his series I'd love to see a TV show based on the last two books of ASOIAF. It should pick up with Jon in the snow bleeding out, the battle of Snow and the battle of Meereen. Just start there and recast the entire series with new actors.
imagine an animated series that accurately follows the books once its finished
Better to do it from the beggining with the new actors
Only problem with that is I literally can’t see Tyrion being anyone but Peter Dinklage.
@@tommiles4508 Matthew McConaughey would do
@@MrMustache-yn4zmexactly it’s a lot easier to do animation. I’ve been saying this for years, either redo the entire thing but in animation or start off after when Jon dies and start it from there
Would love a show about the easy domination and enslavement of the summer islands.
It’s dying… because got 2 last books are not finished and we got played with the last season… now if those 2 last books come out it would be something else! It’ll live again!
Old Valyria/Fall of Valyria for the show, and Robert’s Rebellion for a feature.
Bring back the long night series we all want to see that HBO
Personally I could care less about the animated series. I’m sure I’ll watch them but not marking it on my calendar or anything. It’s kind of whatever, really wish they’d develop a series in old valyria. That’s what I want to see more than anything.
Time is a flat circle; The Children of the Forest & the White Walkers making that spiral pattern which I think means time. What has happened before will happen again.
This is crazy. HBO only needs to do 2 shows. Roberts Rebellion and Aegons conquest.
Wonderful 👏 🔥 👏 🔥 👏 🔥
Love it!
Errybody saying finish 2 books , but the natural story just really on a longer scale than we really tuned to ,seasons last years , we are just in on the minutes and seconds.
All I want to see is more Emilia Clark ❤
I think the history about the first long night should be taken with a grain of salt. George has talked about how that event would be a "cultural bottleneck" for a society living during it. They would not be able to keep records and things like that when they are barely surviving. They probably had to burn a lot of their records for warmth. It is likely the history we know from that time is from word of mouth over the years and that stuff gets distorted. That being said, I would love to see it adapted too. I just think we shouldn't take the history we know about that period as completely factual.
I'd rather see a live action Yi-Ti than anything else.
I was to see the queen of dragons come back to life like Jon Snow, an the Lord's of light, an Arya sailing to the parts of the world, there would be so many stores to tell traveling a new world.
I heard Warner bros is finally working on a game maybe they will tap into this stuff
So the picture on the thumbnail for this video isn't based on anything official for the Golden empire? Rila Fukushima I mean?
The show about Aegon the conqueror is where my hopes lie. Was glad they scrapped the Jon Snow spin off. Hoping we’ll get to find out what happens at Summerhall in the Dunc and Egg show.
Don't trust them to do it correctly.
@lizoyd18
I don’t.
I'll believe it when I see it
Am I the only person who could sit and watch Emilia Clark's eyebrows move during her conversating all day?
I'd rather have a book to read.
We need a proquil in the future 5000 years ahead.
JFC, you mean sequel?
@@7ShadowMaiden7I know , I thought wtf as well
Nice
Honestly, I feel like im still waiting for the last season of GOT
Right? 😭
Truth is no matter how the book ends, the show ending will be what’s etched into many people’s brains
Maybe GRRM has completed WoW or more, but contractually, he needs to honour a certain amount of time passing as it might impede on Dan & Dave’s profits? Just a thought.
10,000 ships will be spliced between Nymeria in the past and Arya’s journey in the future. That’s my bet.
Harry Potter series and Game of thrones Spinoffs are HBO’s big titles for the future
I’m glad they decided not to do the Jon Snow show. If he doesn’t want to be there don’t give him work.
Personally, I'd rather watch a series based on the blackfyre rebellions.
Grrm may die as a failed TV executive producer instead of a world class author of a perfect seven book series
Dude, THIS. Is the man not self-aware? His legacy is hanging in the balance and he seems to have no idea
*will
I have a theory, he finished the books years ago but had a contract with the publisher and maybe HBO not to release the books before he dies to keep us all interested in the stories and waiting in anticipation of the last two books so nobody forgets about grrm. And in turn at hbo they let grrm try his hand at producing his world.
I really just want GRRM just finish the book, adaptation is better if the books are finished
Call me crazy, but if D&D are given a good script, they would do good.
They gave us a good 6 and a half seasons.
Please bring back the opening music.
Finish them books Martin. Not throwing a single penny your way until you do so!
None of the prequels even matter if we don’t know how it really ends 😭
They should ONLY focus on Prequel shows, any sequel built on the awful GoT ending will only hurt the brand.
I'm going to tell ya'll a secret. Those books are done! They just won't get released until he passes away which is the way he wants it so he doesn't have to hear/deal with any negative fan backlash about it lol 😂😂
Anything except more Targaryen’s
That’s like making another Jurassic Park with no dinosaurs.
HotD isn't as good as you guys pretend.
Talking thrones has shared his criticism of the show and it's all over UA-cam.
It’s awful.
They need to do a Jon snow shoe in 20 years
They doing way too much, wayyyyy too much.
They better show Yeen during the Nymeria show.
