Well, so much for my idea of this thing being cut up and re-purposed to make 100% Jake’s sagging garage the strongest residential outbuilding in the greater Wichita area.
In the beginning, I thought, why aren't they pushing it over? You came to the right conclusion, lol. Of the sketchy stuff, you opted for the lesser of two sketchies 🤣
Actually, a second forklift would have been great in that situation. One on each side, one lifting from the bottom as the other would be lowering the forks on the other side. In any situation, always work SMARTER, not HARDER...
I've actually done this a few times with pallet racks and such. Park the forklift in the middle of the free-standing rack to be tipped. Lift the carriage all the way up until it's 3 feet ABOVE the highest part of the rack. Get two sturdy big ratchet straps or chains, and tie from the back rest to the FAR SIDE of the rack, i.e. the horizontal beam furthest away from the carriage. Place some kind of wedge or stop in front of the legs closest to the forklift (these will stop it from sliding when the weight comes off) Gradually lift the carriage, the diagonal strain on the ratchet straps will have a tendency to pull the rear of the rack toward the forklift. Ensure you don't lift too high so the legs don't jump the stops you've put there Gradually back the forklift up, whilst simultaneously lowering the carriage to follow the rack down. The straps will take the weight temporarily. Go slow. When you're at 45 degrees or lower, remove the stops. (It's not going to slide once it's this low, and the stops will be in the way of getting it all the way down.) Eventually you'll end up with the rack lying on the ground, and the straps will be easy to remove as the carriage will still be in the air. Easy peasy.
Hey John Ross, I would have lent you my 9 tonne forklift..... but the wait from Australia would be insane. You your best with what you had.... if Worksafe (Australian O.S.H.A) don't see it, it didn't happen right? Lol..... love you videos have been watching you for a long time, always entertaining......😉
I am pretty excited to see the sketch stuff the guys will need to do haul that away. Oh, and always cash a check. It motivates them to do their part. They handed it to you, so cash it.
How are people going to give directions to the shop? “ Go down till you see the big empty steel rack. If you get across the rail road, you went too far.” N.E.OH Bob
Tie the top of the rack to the forklift like you did, tie a strap from the bottom of the rack to the F250 (at a distance), back the 250 up pulling the bottom as you drop the forks, lays it right down. Sketchy as crap but it’ll work. 😂😂😂 Love your channel man!!
I used to operate a Mitsubishi forklift very similar to your fork truck, outside at a plastic company during the winters loading semis and moving stuff, it's take alot practice and skill to use one successfully especially in the winter times, ps should have used logging chains and used the boom as leverage to do this, Liked vid, full view always
The main structure looks super strong those runners are probably just tacked into place so they don't fall off when people move pallets in and out. Cuz that happens with an inexperienced forklift drivers.
@@InsideOfMyOwnMind I'm not a fan of air quotes or the word Boujie but in this particular circumstance I thought if there ever was an appropriate time to use air quotes, that was the time.
I still think that would make a great Corvette storage rack with a bit of modification. 1/2 doz Vettes maybe? I will be curious to see how much gold you can get out of 96lbs of cell phones.
Why didn't you use your truck to pull it over and the forklift to anchor it? Put the door you were throwing away under one of the legs to give it a slight lift up.
To be fair, everything that broke off was spacers for a forklift to get under the sheet metal. What contractors call "dunnage". There was no strength needed in the welds, just enough to keep them from sliding.
JR you need to watch this back in slow motion and note the number of times you placed your body or limb “in the line of fire”. No matter how good the machine operator or how much you trust him there can always be human error potential. Better to have him shut it down every time you need to enter between the machine and an object.
What are you guys thinking why don’t you leave it up in the air for the buyer to park his trailer right next to it then pull it down on top of the trailer
Well, so much for my idea of this thing being cut up and re-purposed to make 100% Jake’s sagging garage the strongest residential outbuilding in the greater Wichita area.
8 million dollars of steel held together with 35 cents of welding rod. 🤣
As you started backing and it beginning to tip, should have dropped the mast a little, that would have gave it more room to fall over further.
Sketchy shenanigans with a forklift. My dad and brother would get a kick out of this!
In the beginning, I thought, why aren't they pushing it over? You came to the right conclusion, lol. Of the sketchy stuff, you opted for the lesser of two sketchies 🤣
To quote Matt from Diesel Creek
" Come with me
And you'll see,
A world of ohsa violations"
🤣🤣🤣
I'm picturing JR's dad watching this and laughing his ass off! One thing for sure: if JR says something will be sketchy, you better believe him!
I drove forklift for 20 some years. That was by far the least sketch thing I've seen done or have done myself as told by my boss to do. Good 🎥
Ok, that "line" is in my head now....time to do some sketchy .... LOL Great job! No one got hurt, except for some frostbite....ouch.
The motto at my shop: "Sketchiness is the spice of life." More sketchy shenanigans please! This was great!

I thought using the truck as an anchor point from the hitch you could do the same thing
yes because they had a second fork laying around XD
How are they putting this on a flat bed? We need that as a video as well!
Should have made a workbench out of that old door, they work great for that
It's going to be in the 60's next week, it was 70 on Monday, 15 on Tuesday, and snowing Wednesday. I wish winter would just go away.

Time to do some sketchy shit was an understatement. 🤣😂
Great video from JR.
LOL that Blackberry Bold in the phone stash
How are people going to give directions to the shop? “ Go down till you see the big empty steel rack. If you get across the rail road, you went too far.” N.E.OH Bob
I just say the big white building, the one across the street is grey 😛
There's still burnouts in the drive way 🤷🏻♂️ that's what I used anyways 😂
OSHA approved 👍😂 we need some more on the s10 build I'm preparing myself for building mine and going to wait and see what I'm getting myself into 🥶
I exactly know the feeling and the situation when you want to get something like that done properly and you just exhaust yourself physically 100%
Now we know why the welding shop went under... they could not weld very good based on the wrack welds.
My dad has two old cranes on auction on PurpleWave in OK right now. Looks like they will sell cheap. They're make a good project!
JR and Statue, the OSHA approved movers.

That was quite the goat rodeo
!
man it looked so cold outside, and that was not sketch at all!
Well that was terrifying to watch, always wondered when you were going to get rid of that thing.
On today's episode of WatchJRGo, we shoot a forklift safety training video for OSHA . [queue music]
Always follow the rigging plan!
I have seen some sketchy ish... But this takes all the cake.
You know you're frigged when the Escalades show up

We've gotten this one stuck in the snow trying to clear the parking lot with it 😂
@@WatchJRGo 😆😆😆 the old hyster three wheel fork lifts were nearly impossible to use in ❄️ winter
Morning and it’s snow free here in southern England.. now we’re in suspense till tomorrow as will or won’t it end up on a flatbed.
This better be the end of the snow! Basically every snow day is a full stop here, too cold to even heat the building 🍻
JR is getting his money's worth out of that Motul hoodie.
You need the Watch Wes Work forklift sticker. Reminds me of Andrew Camerata and OSHA violations song. 😆
The main structure looks super strong those runners are probably just tacked into place so they don't fall off when people move pallets in and out. Cuz that happens with an inexperienced forklift drivers.
They only welded two sides of the main supports, it should've all been fully boxed. 😳

Star Trek and old phones!! What a night it will be😳
When will you be getting back to the Vette? Waiting on a part?
Like Sunday or so, after my brother's wedding 🍻
What are you going to do with 96 pounds of cell phones? Lol love your channel keep up the good work.
Holy crap, that was painful to watch...
That was a good use of air quotes for calling out the welders.
I hate air quotes, just like my friend hates the word Boujee so I say it all the time around him.
@@InsideOfMyOwnMind I'm not a fan of air quotes or the word Boujie but in this particular circumstance I thought if there ever was an appropriate time to use air quotes, that was the time.
Literally every violation in the book right here🤣🤣🤣👍
I just wish I could explain why I enjoyed watching this video!!
I still think that would make a great Corvette storage rack with a bit of modification. 1/2 doz Vettes maybe? I will be curious to see how much gold you can get out of 96lbs of cell phones.
Comrade jr what happened to the vette?
JR can sell a giant ass rack but I can't seem to get rid of a set of snow tires. Amazing....
Industrial items sell, as they are rare, and usually very expensive, so if you see a bargain, you snap it up.
Sort through those phones with gloves 🧤 eww!! Lol 😂 love the vlogs 😎🇺🇸🦅👍🏻
The air quotes were the best part of this video! 😂
looks fun
JR and sketchy? No! The man that owns an atom doing sketchy things? Nope, can’t be JR.lol
The Atom hit a bump under boost and got sideways in the air on me... that car is wild 😳
@@WatchJRGo Well look at it like this, that car is a perfect cure for a sluggish digestive system!
i had that blackberry world! haha nice
Where's your dad when you need him. Lol!!!!
You need to get crazy and go triple hoodie!
We definitely need an update regarding the pickup of that rack...if it happens.
Probably great cellphone reception at the shop. There's a tower right next to the building.
JR has another channel? I did not know this.
At least the 10k I drive has heat. Hope the weather warms up for you
Time to do some sketchy shit, doo-dah, doo-dah.
This was oddly satisfying yet also intensely terrifying to watch that tip over. Haha.
No way I’d put it on my rollback though. 😬
You know that meme of Bill Hader eating popcorn? That was me watching this video.
Gold!
I was waititng to see Klaus from that one safety video show up...
Why didn't you use your truck to pull it over and the forklift to anchor it? Put the door you were throwing away under one of the legs to give it a slight lift up.
You should have good cell coverage with that tower in your back yard.
I hope you got a good amount of money for that steel! Its worth about $4000 in scrap!
2 tons of clean steel is $4-500 in scrap 🍻
At least you picked a nice day to work outside.
the forklift isn't the problem - the problem is not having the faintest idea what you are doing with it.
Sell it to the Government as a pop art sculpture,Called Rust & Bust.
This is how I handle stuff in Farming Sim 22 - you guys need to add Super Strength and just pick that thing up and toss it. 😂
welcome to Watch JR GO, the sketchiest automotive channel in all of youtube.

Have you used that fork as a car jack? I have a forklift license and try to stay away from sketchy but I have witnessed that on a job.

Hey!
Yo! 🍻
I will show this to my nephew so he can get certified to run the forklift at home depot.
What are you guys thinking why don’t you leave it up in the air for the buyer to park his trailer right next to it then pull it down on top of the trailer
Because the trailer would probably break 😳
camera man has balls of steel standing in the fall path
Dam you have snow in sc it’s 84
Casey...you osha certified on that lift bro? lol
Your idea of dividing into two sections still may be the only answer
Need to finish the Corvette, need closure.
I thought this may go from a forklift attempt to just putting a long chain on the top rail and yanking it down with the truck!
That would be my thought maybe 3 pieces will get on the truck at a time!
Wow hardcore 😹 my southern ass couldnt work in the snow.
15:43 Just think of all the saliva residue on those old phones.
"And that was the story of how John Ross of WatchJRGo met his demise..."
Where did jrgo?
This whole video should have been played at 4x speed with The Benny Hill Show theme playing underneath.
Fork extensions!!
Those racks would of worked great for part storage. A little over kill but they wouldn't of gave out. LOL
Waiting for the Volvo 240
There is such a thing called forklift training 🤣
The buyers should just cut that thing into manageable pieces with a plasma cutter, then weld it back together if need be when they get it in place.
What!! 96 lbs!! LMAO
I find it funny when Americans talk about getting cheques , haven’t seen a cheque in years here in OZ
