      I have a dyson thats little better than the one you have, but not much. Dont hate it but dont love it. Definitely not a fan of the battery. You can replace them, and you will have to because they stop holding a charge. Have gone through a couple in 3 years. you have to remove a couple small screws and such to do so. We use a corded shark more than the dyson. On the other hand, my brother and his wife have a dyson that is actually pretty awesome, but its like $600-800. It has a green light on the front you can turn on and it shows you dust and fur you couldnt see with the light off, and it picks it up real well. The roller did get jammed up before and it wasnt the easiest thing to take apart and put back together. The whole top piece with the filter and tank, its some what easy to dump to keep vacuuming, but taking it apart is again, kind of a PITA. It works real well, but its too expensive and definitely could be easier to clean and maintain

    I got the Ryobi and after a month my wife got rid of the Dyson. The interchangeable batteries are the best part of the system. She grabs a 6Ah and gets the whole house done where with the Dyson she had to do half the house, charge it, then finish the other half.

    Here's an example how this Channel has changed my life:
    Our house in Maui, Hawaii, needed some Lani 2x6x20' boards replaced - damn termites
    I used my Ryobi tools to cut the lumber and the electric planer to shave them to fit into the old locations
    But of course, the lumber had to be painted, so this channel reviewed the TrueCoat 360 cordless connect paint sprayer that can use any powered screwdriver or impact driver I have a lot of old Ryobi drivers so I bought one.
    Out of all the tools I've bought in 10 years, that spray painter is #1 - holy cow, does it put an even coat of paint on anything and I get to use my Roybi tools and batteries - don't have to buy anything else - so I thought.
    Well my wife wanted to try it but of course, the old brush drills were heavy so I had to buy a new small brushless driver (came with 2 small batteries!) and my wife just loves the thing.
    Well, my son's wife heard about this, and she wants one - for each house.
    See where this is going....thanks a lot...

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  6 місяців тому +9

      I really appreciate this comment brother. For some reason, a litvif people crying on that sprayer video saying it's junk, garbage blah blah blah yet never tried it. Along with every other tool that I show lol. Either trolls or just people that like to complain.

    • @noleftturns
      @noleftturns 6 місяців тому +4

      @@ToolReviewZone@ToolReviewZone Well, I've tried a bunch of airless sprayers over the years but never a TrueCoat - wow, what a difference.
      I refuse to buy any hand tool that doesn't use the Ryobi batteries I have-probably 75 total Ryobi batteries of 18V, 40V, and the small pen-sized batteries at the four homes-so that review of the TrueCoat really caught my eye. I had to replace 50 boards that I sprayed in an hour, and to do the same with a paint roller would have been an exhausting full day.
      The paint went on flawlessly and evenly and I'm tempted to use an impact driver instead of a drill driver and paint even faster. We have a lot of lattice wood that needs painting and I'm assuming I will easily do it 10X faster with the TrueCoat.
      Ryobi should buy TrueCoat and make it a Ryobi product.

    I just replaced an older Ryobi stick vac with the one reviewed in this video and absolutely love it. I have close to 2 dozen 18V Ryobi tools and 8 or so HP batteries so I never have to worry about one being dead. With the exception of one, maybe two products, I have been thrilled with the Ryobi, not Reeobi, brand name. Going on year 4 with the lawnmower and only a blade replacement and NO GAS EVER!!

    I’ve been using a Ryobi 717k model stick vac with pet roller, etc. with some batteries I had for a year now. It ran circles around our old Dyson, and replacement batteries are cheap. The little attachments are great for getting dust out of electronics, motors, etc, even the back of your fridge nobody does. Mine stands up, but feels like it just needs one more cold one to fall down. Anyway, other a couple db’s loudest my headphones cancel, it’s been a big upgrade. This unit looks even better.

    I bought a Ryobi PBLSV717 stick vac a couple years ago to replace a 2 year old corded Dyson pet hair vac that was just awful from day 1. The MUCH cheaper Ryobi immediately blew the Dyson out of the water. I've used the Ryobi for everything: vacuuming the car, the couch, tile floors, carpet, etc. We're currently doing vinyl siding and windows on our house, and no matter how I try, I inevitably track pvc and wood sawdust into the house. The Ryobi takes care of it with ease. Pet hair from a German Shepherd/Catahoula Cur mix isn't an issue, either. I just wish the canister was bigger, cause man do we have to empty it often with our dog. We don't even have the advanced beater bar, the standard one works great, though I am considering getting that just because. For $90, why not?
    Anyways, TLDR, I was surprised how well the cheaper Ryobi stick vac performed compared to the much more expensive corded Dyson.

    I really want to love the ryobi. they've done so much right. But other reviews have shown that it doesnt have a properly sealed canister. Which means fine dust is getting blown back into your house. Not a huge deal in the shop perhaps. But it's important to note. Similarly, there's a reason why dyson provides the fluffy roller with their other vacuums. Hard floor sweeping isnt something many vacuums have excelled at until they started looking at the fluffy roller and had the genius idea of "why not both".

    I want to throw in my Milwaukee M18 stick vac experience... The ergonomics are absolutely terrible, the weight gets pretty heavy with a 12ah (obviously), I like the attachments and how they latch, it has pretty good suction and power, the container is easy to use and holds a decent amount of debris, however it hates hair! You will be literally stopping every 30 seconds to clean the hair out of the inside as it wraps around the tiny plastic/metal screen inside. It does not stand up on its own, it doesn't have a dock for hanging or charging, the first one I bought was defective the first day out of the box, pushing it around on carpet feels like your trying to push a brick on the end of a mop handle, and one really big negative that my friends and I have noticed with a couple of these vacs is that the static electricity that builds up from carpet cleaning likes to discharge where your fingers wrap around the handle, so it constantly shocks you as you clean. (We tested 3 different m18's and they all did this.) Overall, I got it on sale for $140 bare tool and I think it's just ok, it works. It doesn't suck, but it's not mind blowing. Actually I use it more with the stick off of it and just walk it around in hand. I think I may be getting a Ryobi soon, just not sure which of the 3 new ones I want. Thanks for making this video Clint.

      I wouldn't throw it in, I'd throw it out lol. Everything you said is on point. I did a video on it saying how bad it was. Don't get me wrong, it works OK on hard surfaces for smaller debris, but carpet it's just terrible

    We own a V10 Dyson, and if we didn't get a crazy deal with it 2nd hand I'd feel robbed to have paid retail. For all the things I hate about it (the battery life, the air filters, the designed to break plastics at stress points) it is a beast for suction for a tiny stick vac. But I'm done with trying to keep it running.

      @@ToolReviewZone I literally had to get replacement parts from Amazon or eBay that were NOT OEM, since the plastics were so bad. That Dyson isn't one of the "bad mamma jamma" models. I've got a V15. THat tineco and Dyson have the worst filtration systems for cordless vacs still currently on sale. The Tineco will clog if you don't clean the tube filter regularly. Dyson's filter while needing less maintenance will clog in the future as dust accumulates at the inner walls of the tube/foam filter, it has to be turned inside out then washed. Ryobi indeed is a more recent cordless vac and the dual brush head could be compelling to pickup those larger particles. I also like that its battery pack compatible with power tools. Power tool brands should make cordless vacs so that batteries are utilized. I have multiple tools on different brands there for incompatible batteries, on top of multiple cordless vacs in the house

    I've had two Dyson stick vacs and I've not been impressed with their quality for the price. Performance is ok, but both of mine broke within a few years. The plastic and build quality just seem poor, my current V8 model has had the plastic trigger guard break off so sharp plastic scratches your hand and the plastic tube has an insane amount of play in it making it wobbly. Still running for now at least, but I get the impression that even though these things are $400+ they are meant to be disposable and won't last you more than 3-5 years.

    The LG's are really good. While if you do your suction test it won't seem that impressive yet the vacuum itself is super impressive. Not sure how it works. It has a couple of filters. All just cleaned with water. The base stores and charges a second battery if needed. They even have some versions that auto empty. It is also weight balanced way better than most of the other ones. My grandparents had a couple other ones and they didn't use them but tried our LG and they bought one as it was the easies to operate for them.

      @@ToolReviewZone Really depends on the product. Unfortuntely you can't just go buy a whole set of anything these days from anyone. Thankfully there are sites that have a lot of data. From washers and dryers to refrigerators. For instance most refrigerators are not going to last unless you go super basic. They have horrible designs. Never buy one with the ice maker in the door if you can help it for instance especially if the door is part of the fridge instead of the freezer section. Front loading wash machines are typically way less reliable then top loading. Thankfully we have sites and UA-cam channels from companies and repair techs that talk about their experience with least and most reliable. I have gone through a Kenmore and GE fridge in the last 7 years or so. The last fridge repair estimate was nearly $1000 so we bought an LG on sale and it has been great so far. Ice maker is in the freezer drawer and water dispenser is on the inside of the fridge and not in the door. Compressor I think has a 10 year warranty. It was a brand new model without reviews but has been solid so far. Samsung fridges have been some of the worst the last decade or so.

    While I won't buy a 3rd Dyson (due to having to use my leaf blower every other use to attempt to clean it out well enough that it will let me use it again - and only after just a few months of starting to use it) - do a doublecheck on the link you used to buy that Mike Tyson err … Dyson (and keep a close eye on that credit card activity, too - Vance wasn't near by when you ordered it, was he?) - because it performed worse than the 1st one I bought like 6 yr ago.

      I agree. Dyson vacuums are overpriced. We used 2 for our cleaning company and can tell you they WILL NOT hold up long under that type of usage. They were both corded. They work well until the plastic starts melting around the beater bar. They both failed the same way.

      I love the Kobalt so this is what I'll say. The Ryobi for larger messes, animal hair and carpet, kobalt for smaller jobs line crumbs around the corner, and webs in the corner. My only complaint with the kobalt is that you have to hike the trigger in constantly to keep it going

    would like to get it as I'm on the ryobi platform and need a vacuum, but it seems if you want to enter the market for cordless stick vacuums, you're entering a vastly overpriced market that focuses on convenience and gimmicks over quality of build. I would agree that the dyson is cheap, ready to break plastic, and the other one is mediocre, but I was a bit surprised that the whisper quiet stick Ryobi has pretty shitty reviews on home depot (even compared with the other ryobi sticks) with regards to durability, along with a few other flaws. Many reviews (on any product) are worthless if people only review it inside the first month or so of owning the tool.
