    This is my introduction to the channel and I love the video! It's nice to see someone compare two vehicles that are different. It's not always about seeing which is better, but just what the differences are. Then I can decide which is better for me.

      I have a lot of people come into the Hobby Shop looking for a good buggy and the question between these 2 cars came up.. "which one should I buy..? "
      I'm Happy it's helping you make a decision on which you like the best.

      What kind of maintenance or upkeep do you suggest doing on this truck? We drove it hard after a rainstorm through the mud, gravel and deep puddles. I took the shell off and dried the inside with a fan. Anything else I should be doing? I notice there’s so many metal parts. Is it at risk of rusting? Should I be scrubbing it clean after driving it? Thanks!

    The one variable that wasn't taken into account was the stock tires on both. I can't help but wonder how the Arrma would have handled the pavement with some street tires.

      Yeah with different compounds we might have gotten different results.. maybe paddle tires on the MiniB wouldve helped too

      If the Typhon had street tires means it would get more grip meaning it would roll more often.

    Great video, Subscribed, bro. A fair comparison would have been the Associated Reflex 14B 4wd Buggy. I love mine but I had to add quite a bit of aftermarket parts to make it into the offroad carpet racer it is today. It is not good for bashing IMO. I was hoping the Typhon Grom with a brushless system would make the ultimate mini club racer for offroad carpet racing. If it handles well and is more durable than the Reflex14b that would be awesome. I'm waiting for mine to come in. 1/14 and 1/16 scale offroad carpet racing is becoming really popular. It started out with the cheap WLtoys the the Reflex 14b. So much fun when you have 4 or more on the carpet race track.

    @johnc7753 7 місяців тому +2

    The motor shaft failed due to user error. A 2.3mm bore pinion on a 2mm shaft creates significant vibration, and poor mesh. This is because the pinion rotation is no longer symmetrical, but offset.

      I’ll second the 16BL30/4500 combo. Have it in my Granite Grom. So much fun! Biggest complaint I have is I wish the settings were more granular. Ex. I run on 50% brake and would like a bit more, but it endos way too easily with the next step up. (75% - probably wouldn’t be an issue for the Typhon’s longer wheelbase) As for the Grom itself, biggest complaint is the reliance on preset mesh plates. (although, aftermarket alternatives exist now) I’m running an 18t pinion but use the 19t plate with a minor modification. I’d rather just be able to set my own mesh. Crazy fun rig, though!
      Thanks for the vid! Love my 6s Typhon, but I’m definitely interested in the Mini-B for variety’s sake!

    Did you convert the Arrma to brushless? Im considering buying myself a Typhon grom in red also but here in Australia they're a brushed motor and have a heat sink on the motor plus a fan. From what i remember the Losi was a brushed motor and also a brushless option too. I reckon i would prefer the Arrma before the Losi for durability. @@vipers3319In terms of durability and speed yea its a very strong basher, but the handling maybe less as good (tho the mini b more fragile)

      @@vipers3319 The typhon grom is much, much better. The Hyper go is good for the price but the gears are horrible and mine stripped causing you to spend extra money fixing those not to mention the H16PL has a thinner shell compared to the grom. The screws on the Hyper Go are fragile and can be easily stripped and are Philips unlike the grom's allen screws. They're not good at all if you want one long term. I made my grom brushless with a 16bl30 and 2435 sl g3 6500KV motor. Its already faster than the Hyper Go's on 3s.

    You compared a 2s to a 8s you also compared a 2wd to a 4x4 and lastly you compared a track car to a basher. I enjoyed watching but most people think RC cars are the same because they are RC cars. They are build differently Losi is build for the race track the typhoon was built to be a park basher.
