People who are saying this car is slow do not understand its purpose. Its supposed to be a swift little car that gets good fuel economy and is fun to drive.
And there’s a method to the cvt models to get it to a 5.5-6 second 0-60 even with 140hp. You put it in sport mode on automatic mode so it stays in sport mode when you go back to it and put it in manual mode with tc off. Give it power, lift a little and then put it back down and I’ll take off quicker, get to the top of first and take it out of manual mode, when it starts to drop in rpm a little bit let off a little and then floor it again. It completely changes the launch of the car
I got one yesterday. Traded in 2020 Dodge Ram because I lost a need for compensating my ego and needed something better on gas. The GT was the only Forte with a manual transmission, and it is quick as hell. Now I have to be careful to not get a speeding ticket.
You should get the intercooler resonator delete pipe installed if you haven’t already! It’s as easy as jacking the car up and taking the cover off underneath, the pipe is right behind the oil pan iirc so be careful if it’s warmed up and just make sure you push the flanged ends into the slots in the oem plumbing and clamp her down and put the cover back on! I bought mine from Cherry Tuning & Performance for like $23 and even with the DCT you can feel how much more responsive the car is with just that part, and takes away one area you’d get some heat soak too!

I have the lxs and while it has less power it does have a cvt. Start it out in sport mode on the shifter with normal mode normally, tc and stability control off. Take off in sport mode using manual mode. When it gets to the top of first, move it over into automatic in normal mode and go about 3/4 throttle and it holds itself at the peak of the powerband as you accelerate. It'll take you off guard from going around driving normally to that because as soon as you take it out of manual, it lunges back as it takes off

My mom had a 2016 Kia Optima and the engine caught fire on the highway driving to p.a from nyc and they told her it was her they couldn’t pay cuz it was to much damage to determine where the fire started even tho that engine was recalled and they gave it back to her a few weeks before saying it was fine
@@PerformanceOnWheels the manufacturer recommends 87, though above sea level the engine will start to pull timing power loss from the engine to stop engine nock, with higher premium Octane Fuel the engine management system will allow advanced timing and more boost/power due to higher Octane Fuel ⛽ that has much higher tolerance to engine nock. These engines also have overboost for short periods if all parameters are met and you can really feel it

In the Kia Cerato/Forte GT auto transmission, all drive modes (Eco, Confort, Smart and Sport) can either be shifted automatically ou semi-automatic by using the shift paddles -+ on the steering wheel. However, moving the gear selector to D (drive) then to the left, it will activate and only work in Sport mode, and the gears can also be shifted -+ using the gear selector or wheel paddles.
To let the tires spin, if traction control is on the system will stop the tires from spinning aka cutting power, so it can end up having a slower 0-60 time. With Traction control off the tires will spin as much as they can under full throttle and aslong as the car doesnt fall on its face sometimes its quicker than having traction control on
My 2021 Kia forte GT limited, is the exact same interior as the new 2023, 2024's the only difference is the colorwheel for ambient lighting and the logo. literally copy paste the rest
@@xxleslie_mestrowxx1168 Its still possible, all thats being done is brake boosting, even if the gt-line doesnt have a sport mode or turbo you can still hold the brake and floor the gas, then let go to launch at a higher RPM which is all that was really done in this video.
@@blayt.mp4341cvt transmission will slip do not try and launch them idk if this works for the Kia but when I had my civic 200hp cvt the best way to get rolling is use sport and hit pedal half way to get into it and around 15-20 mph mash the gas
@@exotik4123 done it to my corolla can confirm it never slipped on launch but would slip on the fake upshifts lol. My 2020 corolla still going strong with 44k miles with me beating and launching it for 4 1/2 years
Its a push to start... pretty sure it has an immobilizer xD. Kia started using immobilizers as standard practice in 2021, only a couple 2022 model years were built without them. The immobilizers were only missing on turn key ignitions.
I’ve had both , they are basically the same . The normal 2.0 is actually pretty quick . The 1.6 needs to warm up and be launched correctly, i have a GT now, it’s definitely a quick car . It sounds good too and is generally a much nicer place to be in , also the dual clutch is nice , he’s not really going hard on the car here , i get lots of wheel hop when i launch hard.
@@AIDAHAR210 Not really..got hangmedown buick 2012 we have never changed anything ..never a tune up! 245,000 miles. I have two frieds who bought Kia optimas. One is 1018 at 90,000 miles enginrvdied the other has late model kia optima trans failed had to be replaced.

Even still, the current kia forte gt has a 0-60 of 6.7s. Which isn't bad for such a small car.
Mine kicks me back into my seat when i floor it.

Sport just means it hold the gears longer and it will shift faster. Manual is you shirt it yourself with the paddles or slap stick

The forte gt does not have any sort of launch control. Also it's not a cvt it's a dct.

With my 22 n line elantra, if you put it in sport for the engine it raises rpms, and may change other parameters. I always do both.
