I found this method. stay away and begin to "sharpen" the blade. the clown will do the red attack, which in my opinion is the easiest to parry perfectly. after parrying, sharpen the blade again, he will always make the same attack, and so on. sharpen, parry. when his life bar becomes white on the edges, you have to find the right moment to do the charged attack on him, and this is the most difficult part 😅
this stupid clown legit killed me probably more than any other boss in the game

This puppet is probably like that Godskin noble from Elden ring. Stronger than some of the bossess.

Problem with this guy is you never really have a chance to go for a hit
Actually you have, but you must stay close to him and not fall for his bluffs. He has a lot of taunts.
The REAL problem with this guy is that it's a sponge of damage
I died 3 times then killed him the 4th time. I kept my distance from him the entire fight and perfect parried all of his charged punch he does.
Just beaten this guy. Had to die at least around 20 times from this person
This is the worst shit ever
Use the environment with that guy. I run past him to the Opera House courtyard where there is a Stargazer. In the courtyard are obstacles that I use to force him to follow me around in a circle. He can’t hit me across the obstacles so he keeps following around them. I pop him with a good Fulmis blitz or charged attack then keep circling, again, Fulmis blitz or charged attack, keep circling. Rinse and repeat till dead.
I did the same but I wasn't that kind to the stupid clown. I just bought all the throwables and shocked, burned and decayed him to death. Felt like orgasm ngl.

Encountered and beat this guy last night, and had to go look at videos of him immediately after waking up, to make sure I didn't just have a particularly bizarre fever dream. After struggling with the Brotherhood for way too long, this guy's hyper satisfying block timings, combined with the absurdity and surprise packed presentation, made this my favorite boss so far. How people can hate on this goofball, I mean I get it, but come on.
Also, props on the great guide, I kind of wish he weren't dead, so I could try some strats you showcased.

Just beat this boss last night. Perfect example of how unfair the game can be. I had almost no time for a charged heavy attack
Yeah for sure. The amount of time it takes to charge up a heavy attack and the small parry windows make some of these boss encounters pretty annoying. Hopefully it’s somethin they fix in a future update though.
Not gonna lie, Mad Clown Puppet tops any challenge Fromsoft has ever created... In terms of intentional physical harm caused to the player....
thank you for your advice, i found it much easier once i swapped to the electro weapon instead of using the glaive. took me about 15 mins.
I was having trouble with the party during his combo. I found backing up and dodging to line up his finish with a parry worked well. Also dodging to his right behind him allowed me to get off a heavy attack as he has a big recovery window.
on my first play through, i just completely skipped over him and went into the opera house from the courtyard stargazer. i started my new game + after about a year away from the game and remembered why i skipped it
Made 20 perfect guards but it didnt break his arms nor did he go groggy. So bombed him right away.

This is literally a watered down Sekiro boss. Stay mid range and force him strike from far enough to see and parry his attacks. The guard parry Fable art crushes him.
An easier way that i found was.....to bait his long ranged punch ...i dodge and run towards him....
He is extremely vulnerable after that....while he is retracting his arm back.
I baited this and the jumping belly bump attack ....
And finished him

I cheated , I attacked him the back with a running attack , plus lots of throwables . Took forever

Just circle around a bush and keep Charged R2ing him, electric grenades help aswell

This boss might make me quit the game
Anyone got any tips on the "getting the timing down" part of this strategy? I have played and loved Wo Long, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne, and I can parry perfectly well in all of them, but I seriously can't parry for shit in Lies Of P. It's so bad that it feels like it just doesn't work. Like I cannot parry early enough, and I have never successfully pulled off multiple parties in a row. WTF am I missing here?
Window is too tight compared to sekiro
For real man. The parry window is really weird too. I'm very used to the "parry the hand, not the weapon" mentality of Souls games, and some enemies work that way, but some enemies are entirely different. The king's flame gave me some trou ke because despite his outstretched weapon during the charge attack, it was like I had to parry when his body made contact with me
I killed him with explosions and Fable arts

After about 3 hours i beat him.

Use throwables i almoat killed him 1st try. I only had 5 lightning throwables i got every throwable now 😎

😬 Boss difficulty in souls games is so subjective. For me, bosses got harder from here. The king of puppets (next boss up) was my least favorite. But sometimes they just click and it's not so bad! just keep at it! You got this! 💪

Its a month late, but its the amulet you get by trading the boss ergo from that one furnace boss.

yep! option. You can run right past him, grab the save point, and once you've reset there, he'll be back in his original spot and won't bother you unless you go back
