2020 was a rough year for country music. We lost Charlie Daniels, Charlie Pride and Kenny Rogers. Three absolute legends. Rest easy gentlemen.
And joe diffie
And my wife a day after kenny..
Rip to all of them all great country legends
@@SIR-DanielHunter sorry hear that
@@bossaotroniosgames5400 thanks it's been a hard year .
If this is the first Kenny song you have ever heard, you haven't even scratched the surface of his legacy.
Yep the first one !! 💓💓
@@GitanaAdelle you'll have plenty of amazing music (they don't 'em like this anymore) to review and enjoy. Lionel Ritchie (one of the members of The Commodores) wrote this song specifically for Kenny. If you haven't heard Kenny's duet with Sheena Easton, "We've Got Tonight" I suggest you listen to it.
You will love Kenny, he has so many great songs.
Hope you heal fast, found I was a slow healer when I broke my right one 4 yrs ago.
@@GitanaAdelle I highly recommend Island in the Stream or Coward of the County😏😏
They don't make songs like this anymore is right or sing them like this anymore either. The man melted a lot of female hearts..not just yours
Yep. They definitely do NOT make songs like this anymore. RIP, Kenny. Another legend gone.
I never tell no one RIP, it's not for everyone only those who lived a HOLY LIFESTYLE.
And the silver Fox catches another one.
Also, trivia, this was written by Lionel Richie.
The Silver Fox was Charlie Rich
@@rayczekalski9481 there was more than one. Kenny has had that nickname for 50 years.
@@christophermichael6844 we will have to agree to disagree Charlie was the Silver Fox when Kenny was singing folk and rock
@@rayczekalski9481 Dude. Look it up. There’s not “agree to disagree” here. Yes. Charlie was the silver Fox. Kenny was also the silver Fox. As were several others.
Really, that's not trivia. Lionel Richie wrote the song, thinking it would work with Kenny's voice, gave it to him to record first. Lionel has been a major mover in the music industry, and a great talent.
She believes in me- Kenny Rogers
Or
Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in- Kenny Rogers and The First Edition
You Decorated my Life, The Gambler. Lucille, Coward of the County..
They don't make them even close to this anymore! LIVE, no autotune, just God given talent!
Hi Darlin' ! He was big in the late 60's and 70's. You have a lot of catching up to do!!💖
Kenny Rogers..RIP...She believe in me.
One of my favorite Kenny Rogers songs is coward of the county
Mine too, great story song!
Yes!! Amazing song!
He sang a duet with Scottish singer Sheena Easton called “We’ve got tonight”
You are correct, "they don't make love songs like this anymore"
My Dad used to sing this to my Mom❣️❣️❣️
He must love her so much ! 💓💓💓
And that is how you got made.
The gambler and love will turn you around are really good ones
All I can say is that he is a bloody legend
I've been listening to Kenny Rogers since I was a child and I'm 59 now, he was such a great artist!
You must see the chemistry between Kenny and Dolly...hilarious!
I wouldn't know about what is written now, I haven't listened to pop music in near 30 years. I'm happily stuck in the 70's and 80's and watching you youngsters discover the best music ever. 😄
This is one of those powerful magical performances.
I'm telling you, I'm telling you, I'm telling you ....."Coward of the County"
He has so many fantastic songs. He's a wonderful story teller. But hands down, this story says so much in such few words.
Rueben James
@@CodyCloudWalker Yea, great one! His "Kenny Rogers and The First Edition" days. It's like he lived two careers. The transition was fun to watch and no matter what there was that voice.
@@ronaldmcrae4896 yes , he remade himself and was great again
Don't forget "The Gambler".
This was live BTW...no lip syncing, no electronic voice enhancing technology...just pure talent.
right? There is so few who can do that now, it's all visuals or loads of dancers.
Ok, I didn't realise it was live.... 🤣
Gitana my dear there is a new Home Free video you ABSOLUTELY have to react to....an ICONIC song...American Pie....
No offense, but I have been requesting a song by one of the premier bands from Canada for a freaking year. Home free are fantastic, but they are no TRIUMPH. Lol.
@@thomasrocker7408 you're a petty little person. Maybe that is a reason she hasn't done your request. You come onto my threadand just had to get a dig in at Home Free...that sir is petty & childish
@@thomasrocker7408 also maybe its because you have no content on your channel as well...no subs & no content...I'd ignore you too
Home Free is the epitome of family music for all.
@@leftalone4264 agree !!!
"He’s singing his soul…" Exactly.
Coward of the County is my favorite, the gambler, islands in the stream... So many great songs by Kenny
Lionel Ritchie wrote this song for Kenny rogers,They did a duet when kenny Rogers was older it was great!
“They don’t make music like this anymore!” No, they don’t. We have this...and thank God we do.
As I read the lyrics, this is exactly the way I feel about the love of MY life.
Kenny and Dolly together! Islands in the stream! you MUST! ;)
Do Kenny and Dolly "Islands in the Stream" written by the BeeGees.
Or their newer one "cant make old friends" is great
It was written by Lionel Ritchie also.
We were blessed with so many beautiful love songs back then. What we have today is rubbish. Period!
Kenny Rogers and Dolly Pardon singing Islands in the stream is another love song you will enjoy.
Kenny was often referred to as the King of country music. He was really quite the artist. He will be missed! Hi!
Any of his songs are fair game. He was an icon, a legend.
You must hear him do "Through The Years" and "She Believes In Me". These are ballads like this one. People will most assuredly tell you about "The Gambler" and "Coward Of The County", and I too recommend these, but these are his "country" song hits.
The “six pack film “
@@leefithian3704 the movie that gave me a life ling crush on Diane Lane ☺
Islands in the stream with him and Dolly Parton is my favorite
I still feel this way about my wife 🥰❣️ 50years later thanks for your great reaction
So thankful I was a teen when all of this great music came out..I turned a teen in 1980 ...such awesome music!!
Mt favorite Kenny song, and it ain't even close, is You Decorated My Life. I used to sing that one to my first wife. Until she took her decorating skills elsewhere. However, that does not detract from the song!
Oh shit ! 😱 ‘twas a great song though 💓
You're full of enthusiasm beauty and you seem to be full of life thank you for giving us all a treat with your very pretty smile you may call us men feel glad that we are men
My mom’s best friend of 40 years was a big Kenny fan and passed away last fall. You Decorated My Life was played during the slideshow before her funeral and holy shit I couldn’t handle it.
Your opinion, my dear, is everything!!!😘💙💙💙
I adore you 💓💓💓
Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton sound great together
Gitana: "I feel like he's singing to me..."
Every woman in the world said the same thing when this song came out.
You said you feel like he's singing it to you, I think every woman feels that way. He has some awesome duets with Dolly Parton. They are great together. ALMOST 60K YOUNG LADY, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Thank you so much darling 💓💓💓
Few performers have the grace and talent like Kenny Rogers. It's a dying breed of performance. So many today are auto tuned today. The gambler is a must for Kenny Rogers
Oh wow, l am happy this was your intro to Kenny. You gave John and I a reason to cuddle thank you my friend.
Also, if you like the story aspect of country and Kenny, I would love you to react to Coward of the County.
Best Kenny is the gambler
I'm 51 years old and he's the only male singer to bring a tear to my eye!
Islands in the Stream is another good on with Dolly Parton
I really enjoy your reactions, keep it up.
Ah thank you so much ! 💓💓💓
You should try The Gambler or one of his duets Islands in the stream or We've got tonight, but he has so many big hits you really can't pick a bad song :)
I agrew
We’ve Got Tonight 👍🏾
Kenny was a genuinely great person. Got to see him in concert . No glits and glamour. Just really personal concert
I've been a fan of Kenny since his days with First Edition. ( i'm 73, btw )
Hello pretty lady, love the outfit and I bet you love Kenny and this song.
She is married. Be respectful.
@@Nastyfinger1444 I am Always respectful
Thank you so much ! How are you darling ?
@@GitanaAdelle I am doing well thank you, I hope your ankle heals quickly.
Two of his songs were turned into movies. Coward of the county and the Gambler were made into movies which Kenny Rogers stared in both.
Lady will always be Kenny Rogers song I don't care who covers it Rest In Peace Kenny Rogers
The ORIGINAL "Silver haired FOX"
OMGOODNESS!! PLEASE react to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton singing "Islands in the Stream" live!!
Great reaction sweetheart! Hope you are feeling better and your injury is healing! ❤
You should really react to Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie singing "Lady" together
Oh wow I’ll look for that, thank you 💓💓
@@GitanaAdelle here is the link for the video. ua-cam.com/video/vc8IN-FnRic/v-deo.html
You should check out that live version, it also gives the story of this song. It’s one of the greatest stories ever.
There is a must
Kenny Rodgers -She believes in me is amazing as well ! Loved it as a kid!❣️
I'm from Oklahoma & country & Western is what I grew up on. I was raised on a 1500 acre ranch & farm where we had about 400 head of cattle, a remuda of about 40 horses. Anytime we had animals pinned up for whatever reason they obviously became very anxious so we would turn on an old radio we kept out in the shed. We played country which settled the animals down. Kenny Rogers started out in rock n roll if I'm not mistaken but soon came to where he belonged. Yes you haven't even scratched the surface. One of my all time favorites is a duet he does with Dolly Parton called "Islands in the stream". Hey love ya kiddo & that hubby of yours. I think I'll adopt your family so I'll have relatives in the UK but mainly because I love you kids & what you do. So adios from this old cowboy. God bless you all.
Ok how in the world have you never heard this song. It was number 1 on country and pop charts for weeks. He has so many hits on both country and pop charts. He was 1 of the first musicians to have so many crossover hits. A little history on Kenny he was the lead singer of a rock band in the 60’s
knowing how she reacts to lyrics...I would recommend Kenny Roger's: Coward of the county
"20 Years Ago" and "Sweet Music Man" and "Through the Years" and "She Believes In Me" and "Children Go Where I Send Thee (with Home Free)" and... Wow! This list can go on for a while!
Helllllllllllloooooooooooo! your ankle???!!! Kenny was a monster in the 70-80's..11 gold albums, 20 Platinum albums 1 DIAMOND album, charted a song in 7 decades. Truly a giant! Love your reaction. LOL sticks thrown at you!! that was funny. "We've got tonight."
Children Go Where I Send thee...Kenny Rogers and Home Free...Best of both worlds!!
There is so many of his songs he has out that are out. Coward of the county islands in the stream with dolly and a beautiful one called buy me a rose you'll love that one
Man I miss his music. Grew up listening to him with my mom. Randy Travis is another favorite from that era. I'd love to see you react to any of his songs, but some are "on the other hand" , "digging up bones" or even a newer one "three wooden crosses."
Thanks for bringing back the memories!
I saw that eargasm, right when you took that ring off and threw it at your husband, lol. It's fun to watch when someone has never heard
I think you will love this one! You feel more relaxed.... That is because you are a "Country Girl" now. Take care & enjoy. Hi - hell-o girl. Lady! You are one of us! One of us...... You are maybe a Kenny Rodgers fan now - that would be a good thing. Kenny had a lot of vocal power!!! FOREVER!!! I love you... In my eyes I see no one else but you. Great lyrics!!! LADY..... A great love song, if ever there was one, this is it! You said it feels like he was singing it to me, Kenny could do this! Take care.
That song was actually written by Lionel Richie. But I just cannot imagine anyone else singing that song but Kenny Rogers.
Kenny Rogers is a household name in every family member of mine. My granny loved him so much she had magnet made for her refrigerator in the 90’s. When she passed away about 10 years ago, it was still on the refrigerator.
Kenny Rogers is fantastic and have heard him for 40 years lol, since I was a kid. He has so many great ones
Of course he was singing to you. You are so lucky, be proud & happy your the chosen lady.
If I’m not mistaken Lionel Ritchie wrote this song!
yep and had a hit with it 1st
He did I have now learnt ... I didn’t know ! 💓
@@GitanaAdelle tee hee!
@@GitanaAdelle do a reaction to Lionel's hit when he was part of the Commodores
@@miamidolphinsfan Had a hit with it first? Are you suggesting that Lionel originally sang and released it?
🤟
🤘
They definitely don't make songs like this anymore another legend in country music taken from us to soon R.I.P KENNY
I saw him first in concert in 1966 with a group name the First addition. He sang the song Ruby. I am 66 years old and I love your reactions. Love y'all Michael
Being a woman feeling like Kenny is singing a song to you is so totally different than a man having Taylor Swift write one about him.😁
😂
You should go back to Kenny when he was younger and see the difference. "The First Edition : Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)"
Ruby is another great one from his days with the first edition
Supposedly that’s Jimi Hendrix favorite song to you and dropped in to the show to watch can you play an interview I watch with Kenny Rogers
Uncle Kenny was singing this to every LADY in the world
He is definitely a crooner.
Also great to see you back in front of the camera
Islands in the stream would be good for V day also. The gambler and Ruby are good songs too.
Delightful as always, other clips of this performance he tells you this song was written and produced by Lionel Richie. This is one of his all time great performances, Other songs of his include "The Gambler" probably his Signature song "Ruby Don't take your love to town" and one of my personal favorites a duet with Dolly Parton "Islands in the Stream".
He was one of the greats!! R.I.P. Kenny
I saw him in concert ! Sadly we lost him last year 😢
Song was written and produced by Lionel Ritchie, Kenny recorded it first and Lionel recorded a version of it himself on his 1998 album. They also have a video where they sing it together
...and we miss you too,AIR HUG!
This is an old school love song, powerful and from the heart.
Lady is my favorite Kenny Rogers song. Memories of 1980
FYI one of the greatest love songs ever written. Written for Kenny by the one and only Lionel Richie
The Gambler, Coward of the county Duet with Dolly Islands in the stream
FYI he was also one of the featured singers in "we are the world" I think you did not long ago.
Kenny left us in 2020 and was another of the True legends.
He was such a great singer for a long period of time! Try some of his duets:-)
Hello G.
My favorite song by Kenny Rogers, as a member of The First Edition, is "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)."
Hi Hellooo ; I'm tickled because I was the 69th like. Hope your ankle is healing well G and the pain is subsiding. Brought back memories of my own mishap , 6 months in a plaster cast a month after my 16th birthday. But how nice is it to be having Saturday morning breakfast with Gitana & Donovan and special guest Kenny Rogers. He passed last year , RIP Kenny. The song Lady was first released Sept 1980 written by Lionel Ritchie. Anyway there is a mountain of KR's material for you to react to , so many hits for you to have fun with. Thanks for keeping me company G and get well soon , massive hugs to you all. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💗💗💗💗
This is one of the songs my mom used when teaching my brother and I to dance with girls
That was a great reaction 💙💜🖤
Kenny Rogers- "Through the Years"
Saw him do this in concert, it was great!
RIP Kenny. Lionel Richie Wrote that song for him. I was a DJ in the 80s and that was popular first dance song. I loved coward of the County. Song with Dolly Island in the streams. Kenny and Dolly had such a bond people thought they had something going on.
Lionel Richie, of the Commodores; and now a solo artist; was asked by Kenny to write a song for him (Kenny). Lionel wrote this song and pitched it to Kenny in Kenny's Vegas hotel room
I know Lionel Riche ! I didn’t know he wrote this 💓💓
@@GitanaAdelle Yes, Lionel wrote this song with his heart and soul. This video was filmed and recorded right after Kenny released it on his new album and it is so full of emotion and feeling. It is the best live version ever recorded. It would have been amazing to be in the crowd at that concert
Thank you for your reaction. My parents had this 45, and I listened to it like a thousand times to get it right. Thanks!
