This song carries the emotion and passion it does cos they wrote it for their friend, the original Guns'n'Roses drummer Steven Adler who was heavily addicted to drugs - it's the reason G'n'r fired him, he was fucked up to the point he couldn't play drums anymore. He got fired round about the time Skid Row were working on this album, so in a way this was their plea for him to stop using and get clean. Other songs on this album to check out are Monkey Business, and especially Quicksand Jesus and In A Darkened Room. Brilliant album i still listen to regularly.
Riot Act is a great song from that album
This song seems to be making the rounds with the reaction channels a little and I'm all for that. This is my all time favorite Skid Row song because of those vocals. Sebastian was feeling that pain. He was always an incredible amazing singer but that pain pushed the vocals on this song (and "In A Darkened Room") into full on god mode.
"Please let there be LIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTTTT in a darkened room." still makes me cry from the power and pain.🤘
@@joshuacanipe7688 srsly, that song scarred me. But it's time for them to be reborn.
This my favorite song by them.
You guys should react to the music video of this song it was amazing
@@edwardriegel8419 yeah it was. Added to the intensity of the song.
I lost my cousin to heroin and this song hits me so hard everytime. Just a beautiful song.
Sebastian Bach is a beast on the mic!! Great band great song!!! 💯🔥
*Skid Row - "In A Darkened Room" and "Quicksand Jesus" should be next. Also, you should check out the video for Wasted Time to really see Sebastian's pain. This song was for Steven Adler (Guns N Roses drummer) who was Sebastian's best friend and his battle with his addictions*
man, this song really takes me back. Skid row was such a great band back then. Luckily i was able to see them live back then, they put on a great show.
Saw them earlier this year. New singer is pretty good and Snake & Rachel still have their A game..
Another great skid row reaction! I highly recommend Monkey Business next
My #1 song of all time. So powerful. Lost a very dear friend to addiction. This is a song where you should have watched the video. Just no words for the emotion Sebastian shows.
So sorry for your loss
Doesn't matter what Era a song comes from. When it's great its great.
Slave to the Grind was one of the best cd's to come out when I was a teenager(genX). Sabastian Bach was a powerhouse of a singer.
Probably one of my favourite tracks of all time, in fact the whole slave to the grind album is fire, every single track 🔥
We still need reactions to Quicksand Jesus and In A Darkened Room by these boys
Morning! Oh hell ya! Love skid row. Love this song! (Such heart wrenching lyrics and his voice is so filled with emotion!) "Quicksand Jesus"and "in a darkened room" should be next guys!🤓❤️ Enjoyed watching y'all get into some more skid row!
Thanks for the upload and reaction on a great ballad, from IMO, Skid Row's best album, Slave to the Grind from 1991. The album is a hard rock classic.
Get the F out is my favorite from that album. Such a legendary group.
@@LetsgoJags I saw them live at Wembley and Docklands in London, and Get the F Out was a crowd favorite, with Seb slagging off local London councils banning the song!
I would call it metal, it's much heavier than their debut (which is already glam metal), but it seems fashionable for zoomers and millennials to downgrade classic metal acts to "just" hard rock nowadays for whatever reason.
They are definitely much more metal than a lot of the "metalcore" that passes for metal nowadays.
@@keithwatkins7908 was that when they toured with GnR? I’ve seen that show on UA-cam. They kick ass!
Skid Row's biggest hit was "Youth gone wild" that's one to listen too
I would say Remember You was there biggest hit.
Excellent song. Another good song imo is "Eileen" though not many seem to think so. It has a killer bassline.
Fucking great song indeed. Unfortunatly this album is forgotten
Sebastain Bach wrote this song because his best friend Steven Adler who was the original drummer for Guns & Roses was hooked on heroin. The song was released in 1991 from their album Slave To The Grind
🤣🤣🤣...waiting for the stop sign to turn green...that guy was high AF..🤣🤣🤣
I hope you get into some of Skid Row's harder tunes. Monkey Business, Riot Act, Slave to the Grind...so many good tunes.
Skid row as a band was lumped into hair metal but looking back now I think there was a lot more to them especially their album from 1992
Their lyrics were more than girls and partying and were the bridge into grudge from hair metal a bridge with other bands like Guns & Roses
Sebastian Bach’s voice was not playing any games. I forgot the power. Thanks!
Should go In A Darkened Room next!!
" DUECES! "
✌🏻😸✌🏻
Welcome, folks, to the prodigious talent of Sebastian Bach, one of the greatest hard rock/metal vocalists ever.
Couple other bands from that era with killer vocals is Steelheart- Never Let You Go and Slaughter- Fly to the Angels.
Slaughter was actually really good on their first cd.
I still listen to and live Skid Row 🤣
Bach is one of my favorite vocalist ever.
They were a really great band and Bach’s voice… I mean. Nuff said.
And side note, Sebastian’s real name is Sebastian Bierk.
You guys have such great content. I'm a huge fan. And I know I've said it before, but I LOVE LOVE the funny clips you always include in the intro. Thank you
I had heroin addicts living above me in 4th grade and I knew what they were because I never had an age of innocence because I grew up knowing the harsh reality of life
1990.. This is on their second Album.. I saw them in concert that year.. It was so epic. He is one of the best voices in music from that time. This song is about his best friend Steven Adler, the drummer of Guns n Roses who ended up hooked on Herione really bad and it was breaking Sebastians heart to see him lost to the addiction.
I hope you guys go back and watch the video. The pain in Sebastian’s face is everything.
Ya'll seen The Cecil Hotel on Netflix? Straight outta Skid Row.
Now this got me subscribing
Love from New Jersey ❤️🔥
Yesss 80s hard rock 🤘🔥
Love your reactions dudes !! From Skid Row : Quicksand Jesus guys, Quicksand Jesus... cheers from France !!
Great song
The video adds even more to the song, Bach shows the emotions in his singing in it.
Bad omen - like a villain 💯🔥
I love watching you guys discover the soundtracks of my life.. 😊 you guys have great taste. I still love all this music.
Skid Row rocks and I personally don't care what anyone says. Vocals are awesome guitars drums the whole fckn outfit rocks
Love this band since this album came out when I was 4 years old in 89 , my sister got the album and I fell in love because it spoke to my dark experience in life because in the first years of my life I went through more than most people experience in their whole lives
So needed to watch the video
Yeah..This is one of the Few Songs that enhances the Music,.
It's such a well directed video and the color contrasts are Phenomenal : )
Sebastianis a legend, thanks for this, fellas✌
Wow! Powerful song great reaction guys
Love this song and those vocals 😳❤
The Horse Stampeding & Raging is the Heroin
What a song, what a voice…you guys should hear the whole album…best album ever
One of the best male vocalist of all time ❣️
Heroin. "The horse stampedes and rages". Horse is slang for heroin, or it was in that time, anyway.
This song came off of their second album "Slave To The Grind" in 1991
Sébastien Bach was "PRETTY AF, YO!!!" LOL
Youth Gone Wild
Great reaction thanks 👌👌👌👌🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
Love the song/group. This was my teenage years in the day.. Rockin with this and hair metal, building sub boxes for my car to have some boom boom. What I like about you guys is I phrase things to my daughter like "Hollywood" does.. and know a lot of Sh*** about things like "smokey" does.. Fun dudes.. be safe and have fun boy's.. Wait, guess I should have said I'd never you'd let it get tis far bo... nah.. bad joke
I love Skid Row!
Oh thw radio days...😍💜🎶🎵🎤🎧🎼
Steven Adler (drummer for Guns n Roses) is who this song is for. Sebastian is wailing for his friend. Sebastian also starred on Broadway later in his career. Steven is still with us
Deep song and that finish absolutely rocks
Horse was a common street name for heroine at the time, which is why he says "the horse stampedes and rages in the name of desperation"
Anyone got a link to the dude who got pulled over by the cops at the start of this vid? That guy really made me laugh 😂🤣😂🤣 Btw great reaction vid you guys. Just discovered your channel tonight & felt sooo old that you were reviewing music I listened to as a kid lol 😊 You just got a new subscriber from Northern Ireland 👍🏻
when this came out on MTV everyone was like woah.. holy shit
Love watching you guys more and more. I do have a request…my favorite band, Yes. The song is side 1 of Relayer- Gates of Delirium. The best band ever. You will never see another bassist like Chris Squire, Guitarist like Steve Howe, vocals by Jon Anderson. They inspired Rush, Tool, Dream Theater and so many more. PLEASE! ☮️❤️ must be live version. And where do you get the clips you play at the start of your reactions?
Many of their songs relate to issues in street life chaos. A couple of great rock songs with meaning is YOUTH GONE WILD and MONKEY BUSINESS!!! Keep up the great work and GOD BLESS!!!
The song was written about his good friend Steven Adler, the original drummet for Guns N' Roses
This album is a masterpiece
I saw Skid Row as the musical guest on SNL, and that's what started me down the path of being a metalhead. They did Monkey Business and Piece of Me and it melted my little 4 year old face clean off. I'd never seen anything like that. Of course, that led me to heavier, and heavier stuff as I got older. See if you can't react to the SNL version of Monkey Business. I don't think it's on UA-cam anymore, but it is on VIMEO.
The line that gets me every time is "Why can't you believe you can be loved"
As has been said..song writen for his friend, Steven Adler, original drummer of Guns n Roses. His addictions to drugs, acho hold ect were so bad he was let go by the band. He later suffered a stroke. He seems to be doing better these days, but the drugs took their toll on him. However, he has played gigs with various bands recently, including sitting in on an occasional song or two with GnR on recent tours. Skid Row toured with GnR in 1991. Bach and Adler were good friends. I was able to see skid row open for GnR on that tour. Both bands were great that nignt.
Sebastian Bach is amazing..
He went on to do 4 shows on Broadway!!
Skid Row is awesome,..."Quicksand Jesus", "In a Darkened Room" are also great songs. But ya gotta delve into something "harder" by them,...think you will like it!! "Youth Gone Wild" & "Slave to the Grind" come to mind....and also "Monkey Business". Old Skid Row...with Sebastian Bach, not the new guy, even though he sounds good...
Sure this is back in earlier comment but Sebastian wrote this for Steven Adler from guns and Roses after they bonded on an early tour and Seb started to see how out of control Steven was getting
Do "I Remember You" by them.
Beautiful song.
In a darken room is another great one with deep meaning
Loved Skid Row back in the day! I was like 13 and rocking a Skid Row shirt. I went to the store and the clerk was an older kid rocking a Slayer shirt. He was like, Skid Row are pusssies! I stood up for 'em and he said fuck that you're coming over to my house later. I did and he played me Slayer for the 1st time. We ended up starting a band together.
This song is about his close friend, the drummer from GnR, cause he was watching Steven (GnR) kill himself with Heroin
Sebastian and Guns N Roser drummer Steve Adler were good friends. Adler was a bad addict (which let to his dismissal out of GnR). Sebastian wrote about him and others.
Please do Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row!
Shoulda did the video with that one !
Sebastian Bach is a vocal GOD!!
Skid Row Please REUNION 2024 FOR THE FANS' IF NOTHING ELSE.WE LOVE YOU !! MISS YOU !!!
The song is about heroin addiction. The HORSE stampede and rages is the clear giveaway about the specific substance being used.
From Skid Row: Quicksand Jesus, Slave To The Grind, Monkey Business, In A Darkened Room, Big Guns, Midnight/Tornado, Youth Gone Wild, My Enemy, Frozen, Beat Yourself Blind
Another little known Canadian singer could hit ‘em too. Nick Walsh from the band Slik Toxic (same era). You should check out their tune White Lies, Black Truth. It’s a rocker!
I agree Slik Toxik checkout for sure, Helluvatime, Sweet Asylum also good tunes
Song context: wasted time. He was talking about his friend's addiction to heroin.
this opening! ahahaha!!!
In a darkened room next to hear Sebastians pipes go off!
Skid Row 🔥🔥🔥Sebastian Bach had a phenomenal voice !!
More skid row please
MAN SEBASTIAN VOICE CONTROL IS INSANE !!! LOVE LOVE. IT BOUT TO WATCH I GET BEHIND SORRY
Amazing vocals. Check out their song Livin on a Chain Gang. 🤘
Guys! do in a darkened room next
Fleetwood Mac was really good at writing songs about each other. REALLY good 😆
Steven Adler was one of my first rock star ‘husbands’. I used to draw pictures of him in art class 😊❤️
Speaking of Jerry Cantrell, Cut You In is a great solo song of his that y’all should listen to😊🤘🏽🎸
The whole Slave to the Grind album is FIRE! Monkey Business and the title track are hard rockers
Youth Gone Wild is next!
Monkey business is good too and dimebag daryll,s favorite in a darken room.
Skid Row - I Remember You . Release November 1989.
Fun fact: Sebastian Bach also had a run in a Broadway musical, I believe. It was called Jekyll and Hyde.
He also had the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar and a smaller part in Rocky Horror.
I love this song and quicksand Jesus from the same album
Love the Sublime T-shirt,
Please react to thei song called Caress Me Down...
This song is about Steven Adler from Guns-N-Roses, and how he was doing heroin and couldn't stop, and let it get so far out of hand. That's actually why the fired him, but the good news is that he's still alive and doing well.
this song was written for steven Alder, you can hear the pain in his voice. Love Sebastian Bach's voice and in my opinion skid row is not the same without Sebastian. Sebastian brings the energy and emotion their music. Now they just sound clubby. I have their first two albums and Slave to the grind is my favorite.
