This is my favorite of theirs. It was super personal to Sebastian as well. He blew his vocal chords out twice before he got it right. Third time’s a charm indeed
You got that right! I bought this album the day it came out. I was just a teenager and the album was cassette tape. I knew immediately those 3 songs were legendary after hearing them once. Good grief I miss the 80's and early 90's something awful.
10:02 has to be one of the highest notes I have ever heard any vocalist hit aside from Chris Cornell. The Slave To The Grind album is amazing I was a bit late to the party with Skid Row but I'm definitely a fan now and Sebastian Bach's vocals are for sure up there with the greats! \m/
his voice and the guitarest capture the feel off being on the outside trying to help a friend who is in a bad place sadly i lost my best mate this song destroys me deep down really gets me
It's because in addition to singing he studied acting, so he knows how to interpret with his voice, with facial expressions and body language... that's why he was so awesome
I love this band, their first 2 albums. Everybody in the band are so damn good, masters of their instrument. Dave "The Snake" Sabo and Scotti Hill had such good tone. It was crisp, heavy, loud, and they were flawless together. Timed together as good as flesh and blood brothers. The guitars says what the person playing it tells it to. The emotion and pain and love that comes out through his hands, the guitar effectively becomes part of the player in moments like that. That's when the greatest and legendary stuff happens. It's friggin amazing!!
I would say for me he best vocal performance. To be fair this album ‘Slave to the grind’ is as good as ‘Appetite’ and is so so worth you just buying and adding to your collection. 🤘
As a musicians and growing up in the 90's... My brother introduced me a lot of metal and hard rock, specially glam rock. I can say Bach is one of my favs lead singers in the rock scene at that era.
The song, the vocals, the guitar, The emotion, the Video,. ALL AMAZING,.~ Best overaall Reaction I've seen too : ) Especially on thr guitar solo... That's completely UNDERRATED ; (
I watched some reacts of this... And you are the first to talk about the guitar solo feeling, totally in with the vocals and the lyrics, that's something I pay attention every time I hear It.
He wrote this for Steven Adler of Guns and Roses who came close to overdosing on heroine. Luckily he's still around today. Back in the 80's and 90's Heroin was often referred to as "Horse" hence the line, But the horse stampedes and rages, in the name of desperation. Skid Row was a much deeper band than they were given credit for.
Them G has some great music taste. I bought this album as soon as it hit the Australian shelves, and I will never get sick of it.This song, and the entire album is an underrated masterpiece.
I enjoyed seeing the level of awareness and the message conveyed by you. Very good. The song and the clip are a true work in the art of expressing the pain that excessive drug consumption can cause in people, sometimes causing the world to lose human beings who could be incredible.
Thus song crushes me every time. I used to belt it out while driving around, and always had a specific friend I thought of. Sadly, he kept moving to heavier and heavier drugs, until heroin changed his personality for the worse. He took his own life in September, 2015. I miss who he was before illegally obtained oxycontin and heroin changed him.
Sebastian Bach is still touring and can still shred with his voice. The words were written by Sebastian but the band as a whole wrote the song for Steven Adler.
This Song Gives Me Chills And Every Time Listen To It I Gave Emotions And Cry. Sebastian Bach Is An Amazing Singer. I Like Skid Row This Year, Just In 14th February, 2023. Me Singing Wasted Time: 🎤🗣️😢😭😫💔
Fun fact: "Horse" is slang for black tar heroin. Adler's drug of choice. It actually boils into a pearl white substance when people mainline it. Hence the white horse in the video and the lyrics "the horse stampedes and rages in the name of desperation" meaning when he is at his lowest the drugs call to him. Taking them may make him feel better but in the end it brings him even lower. Thankfully, Steven Adler survived a drug-induced heart attack and is still with us today.
scorpions ( still loving you) is not a hard rock song it is more like a balled if I spelled that right but my point was the vocals are so good and talk about a guitar solo with emotion, I promise you will like it.
Great Review guys🤘sab and the boy's, Legends Paranoid delusions they haunt you. Where's my friend I used to know. That line hit home. I had a mate sit with me, I'd been awake for three days, totally delusional, From drug induced psychosis, that was 25 years ago, that mate who sat with me saved my life, he was our drummer, and I've still got Guardian angles.
As a former drug addict the drugs end up being "Wasted Time" and that time is wasted from the drugs making you numb and numb to whats going on around you!!! it also cuts you off from normal society and makes you doubt yourself and wonder if and where you belong. I didnt have a stroke from it but im sure i came close
Well if you think this one is deep, and I've seen the song mentioned a few times, listen to In a Darkened Room! That song is about children being sold into sex trafficking and sung as if they are the child! It was actually used to promote a help line for a while!
H is a double edged sword. It’s terrible but the fact is many of the greatest rock songs ever written were written on heroin. It totally enhances creativity.
This is not true. He didn’t write any of the songs on the first album. But he did change slight melodies when he recorded the vocals, especially on I remember you. But on Slave to The Grind and Subhuman Race he did write all the lyrics and helped with arrangements. So what you are saying is misinformation that detractors of Bach try to do to bring his talent down. He even hummed the riff for Slave to the Grind and then Sabo or Hill wrote it. He wanted a huge kicking riff for a song to start their concerts. Plus look at Bach’s three solo albums. They are way better than anything Skid Row did after he left. Facts are important.
My favorite vocal performance of his. What a voice
You will Never hear this at Karaoke,.
Or want to hear Anyone BUTCHER it,,.~
This is my favorite of theirs. It was super personal to Sebastian as well. He blew his vocal chords out twice before he got it right. Third time’s a charm indeed
I love the three ballads they put on this album: Quicksand Jesus; Wasted Time; In a Darkened Room. Still listening to this day.
You got that right! I bought this album the day it came out. I was just a teenager and the album was cassette tape. I knew immediately those 3 songs were legendary after hearing them once. Good grief I miss the 80's and early 90's something awful.
She always frowns. You have to actually try to frown
Absolutely. Along with 18 & Life amd I Remember You, Skid Row were the absolute kings of amazing metal ballads!!!
Same here I love my ballads lol
Yes 💯🤘
Damn that man can sing! His early stuff never ceases to amaze me.🔥❤🔥❤
Sebastian Bach! One of the greatest vocalists of that genre!
In a Darkened room is another deep one by Skid Row
My favorite
The ending is so high and so long...

Skid rows Slave to the Grind it's such a great album
Sebastian Bach is a tremendous vocalist.
I think we ALL need that moment of silence when the song is over.
his voice and the guitarest capture the feel off being on the outside trying to help a friend who is in a bad place sadly i lost my best mate this song destroys me deep down really gets me
You can hear the pain and anguish in his voice and see it on his face
One of the most passionate performances I've ever seen
@@stonyhiggins7113 I know right? Absolutely amazing.
It's because in addition to singing he studied acting, so he knows how to interpret with his voice, with facial expressions and body language...
that's why he was so awesome
This song was written about Steven Adler from G-N-R, and his troubles with heroin...great song, but very sad!!!

He actually had a drug induced stroke so definitely get Sebastian’s pain and perfect vocals for this song
Them G has some great music taste.
I bought this album as soon as it hit the Australian shelves, and I will never get sick of it.This song, and the entire album is an underrated masterpiece.
Been rockin it since day one and it still gives me chills
The passion in his voice is so apparent. Ty for sharing! ❤
raw vocals
Scottti Hill can tear your face off and rip your heart out at the same time.
I enjoyed seeing the level of awareness and the message conveyed by you. Very good.
The song and the clip are a true work in the art of expressing the pain that excessive drug consumption can cause in people, sometimes causing the world to lose human beings who could be incredible.
Glad that I lived in this era, I am blessed
You two are really influential in that message, thanks for the Reaction to a heavy duty issue in the music world.
Sebastian is also a huge fan of model railroading.
Thus song crushes me every time. I used to belt it out while driving around, and always had a specific friend I thought of. Masterpiece

Great Review guys🤘sab and the boy's, Legends
Paranoid delusions they haunt you. Where's my friend I used to know.
That line hit home.
I had a mate sit with me,
I'd been awake for three days, totally delusional,
From drug induced psychosis, that was 25 years ago, that mate who sat with me saved my life, he was our drummer, and I've still got Guardian angles.
Love the visuals, great editing
Sabastian Bach goes God mode on this song.
Only my opinion, but Baz was probably the best metal singer back then..❤.
As a former drug addict the drugs end up being "Wasted Time" and that time is wasted from the drugs making you numb and numb to whats going on around you!!! it also cuts you off from normal society and makes you doubt yourself and wonder if and where you belong. My immortal song ever..

Sebastion did write the lyrics but skid row as a whole wrote this song for steven adler.
Candlebox.. far behind is another song.. involving addiction and a friend
H is a double edged sword. It’s terrible but the fact is many of the greatest rock songs ever written were written on heroin. It totally enhances creativity.
Back when musicians had real talent
👍❤️❤️
Wow the frown wasn't as bad as the reviews
Addiction is a BAD Thing. Especially heroin addiction.
Their lead guitar tone was awesome..idk if my favorite lead tone is skid row or queensryche...I'm torn
FYI Bach never wrote any of their songs! they already had these songs before Bach joined them!!!

Plz make a reaction to a Thunderstone - the path
he was never in gnr
Shouldn't be part of ANY part of your life.
