Quick question. My belt just snapped off yesterday after work and I gotta replace it, thanks for the video btw, but while towing it home the chain broke one of the plugs on the frame under the car. You wouldn’t happen to know where I could get replacements for those plugs would you or what they go to?
I was just working on this on my fusion, and I just cannot get the new belt on, I have a feeling the tensioner I bought may not be the correct one for the car. Before I loosen the tensioner to get the belt one, theres gotta be like an inch that the belt is short....I dont recall it taking that much movement to take belt off the old tensioner, but I cannot turn the tensioner enough to have the space to slip the belt over it...I have check it over and over and my routing of the belt is correct. Im gonna go back out tomorrow morning, pull the new tensioner off and compare it to the old one.
Double check part # first, when I have a tight one I’ll try to slip over a smith pulley last or get the belt started a little bit and reposition my tool
@@Hendogg28 thank you so much! I’m having this exact same problem with mine now that I’ve replaced the belt twice! Was going by a pull-a-part this weekend to grab the harmonic balancer like a mechanic recommended
The important takeaway from this video is the belt routing diagram he drew. Thank you!
Yeah. He probably should have started and stopped there
Amazing video…really came in clutch for us. Thank you for the help and that diagram!
Thanks for the video. I’m in the grocery store parking lot fixing my sons car right now
Which size for the top pulley? Mine broke and fell. I'd like to buy another one.
Did you have to undo a motor mount to get the belt out ?
No I did not

Plug ???
@@richierock1300 yeah. The two plugs that run along the frame right front of the oil filler.
Maybe junk yard or a dealer

Better to make an audio because you don't show nothing
I was thinking the same...
Did you put your tool on that tensioner belt? Lol
Everytime I start up my car the belt comes off. Any idea what could be the reason?
Look at the crank pulley harmonic balancer it’s probably coming apart molded rubber
If you haven’t gotten it fixed yet it’s the tensioner. Have replaced 3 or 4 of them for kicking off the belt on the 2.5 fords
