im glad you guys called this a tensioner cuz i wouldnt have known what video will help me for this change. appreciate your help.
Good job.. thanks. It's the same setup as my 2011 Ford escape so thank
Oh boy! I get to go do this to my Car in a frozen tundra known as Minnesota without a Garage!
You sound like my favorite comedian Jim Gaffigan. I'll subscribe
Really helpful video...thank you.
Sir Bruce your welcome and thank you for watching!!!
I have a 2011 focus same as that one idle bounces when ac is on but only when in park I've changed ac compressor, to and mounts but still same issue any clue what it might be
What size wrench do I need to take off the pulley
I got a problem with the accssory drive belt idler pully bolt broke 1/2". How do I take it out.?
Great job, would you be able to help me with the belt part number for the 2008 focus? I believe it's same as 2011
This is pretty late.. But according to my manual, it is 6C301 . And that's the Ford specific own belt that you'd get from the dealer. You can also go to the Ford Parts website, put in your VIN and then search for whatever you need, and it will match your specific VIN.
There is a roughness in the 2010 Fusion engine, what is the reason
Does anyone know what size the idler pulley bolt is?
Thata right next to the crankshaft sensor right .thw tensioner
How many Km/miles has last that pulley?
omg i was trying to turn the bolt on the pulley itself to loosen the belt. which i was able to do...but i wish i would've realized that's not what you do...
Why did you lift both sides of the car?
I got a broken idler bolt. Can this idler bolt be taken out without dropping the motor?
Greg. They can usually and it will save you well over $1000 if you'll be patient. You'll need a bolt extractor (30$) and preferably a ratcheting wrench. if some of the bolt is sticking out of the back, you'll need an 8mm IRWIN Bolt grip (worked for me 2x). Should come out with some fiddling. It can be a bit difficult because of the tight space, but its worth it! inbox me if you have any questions. Ive done this twice now in a 2009 Ford Fusion.
Your sidekick looks so enthused. Get that man a Hershey!!!
INSTRUCTIONS WERE PERFECT
James Mounsey thank we try to do our best for a couple of youtube shadetree mechanics lol
So do I pull back the same tensioner to take it off/on
There should only be 1 pulley that you can move with your socket.
Guys my friend Jim and I would like to thank you so much if we had not found to remove the splash cover and manually cranking the engine to get the new belt on we would not have fixed my wifes car . Thank you so much
I just replace the pulley on the belt tensioner. Now I've had two jumped belts.
Probably the tensioner itself failed.
Timothy Kamalu yea typically the pulley doesn't go out the whole tensioner does
@@boostedkidproductions9719 wish I could post a pic here of mine, what happened is that the tensioner seized up, then the pulley started getting so hot, it caused bearing failure, etc etc.
I'm working on a Ford focus with almost the same problem I have to change the tensioner cause the belt squeeling loud I already changed the water pump thinking it wasn't spinning how it should I had to jack the engine up to get to it
Is this the same as the 2009 ford focus? anyone know
Yep
Have that same jack n i hate the damned thing but i work with what i got...
Adam got tired of using it so he bought a bigger jack lol
Someone mentioned that you needed to raise the engine to get the bolt out. Can anyone verify this?
Dark Mice I did not have to do that. so I have no idea why they did it if they have same car
thanks for reply
If its just the static idler pulley, the answer is yes. For the tensioner pulley, no.
On my 2007 Focus SE 2.0 I did not have to raise the engine or remove the engine mount to R/R the idler pulley or bolt.
No you don’t. Unbolt the alternator. Set it back towards the firewall. The mount will be in plain view
Número de la correa
All you need is ramps and go under the car and buy the genuine part from Ford comes with the hardware attached to pulley.
8:07 "AC condenser" Nope, the belt goes around the AC compressor pulley. The AC condenser is the thing that looks like a radiator and is mounted in front of the radiator.
Dude relax! These people are working on a car and you think they don't know what an A/C Compressor is.
@@Adish0287 obviously they don’t. The one dude corrected him.
I think the bricks should go behind the wheel instead of the front!! 😄😄😄 good video tho!!
The hill comes towards the house so preventing the car from rolling down into the house
@@2MostlyBaldGuysKC you are just plain WRONG, you lifted the car on the front so use your LOGIC here. TONY is 100% correct!!!! If the slope would be very steep than you would still use brick on both sides one in front and one in the back of back tire. It just amazes me how human brains can work (or not).
Hey fellas, probably would of been a good idea to (1) to use a little lock tite to keep the bolt from backing out, (2) torque down that bolt to spec for that particular car...probably around 25-35 ft lbs and (3) the owners manual has the belt routing.
That belt was completely ruined and you could have saved a lot of time by just cutting it out.
When you do videos like THIS important, you should know before you replaced the belt , THE BELT ROUTING DIAGRAM , come on .
It’s really easy , but you making it difficult for people that’s doing this for their first time.
The belt routing it’s not common sense , you can really f… things up.
