    Great job, would you be able to help me with the belt part number for the 2008 focus? I believe it's same as 2011

      This is pretty late.. But according to my manual, it is 6C301 . And that's the Ford specific own belt that you'd get from the dealer. You can also go to the Ford Parts website, put in your VIN and then search for whatever you need, and it will match your specific VIN.

    I got a broken idler bolt. Can this idler bolt be taken out without dropping the motor?

    • @johnaltenbaumer94
      @johnaltenbaumer94 7 років тому +1

      Greg. They can usually and it will save you well over $1000 if you'll be patient. You'll need a bolt extractor (30$) and preferably a ratcheting wrench. if some of the bolt is sticking out of the back, you'll need an 8mm IRWIN Bolt grip (worked for me 2x). Should come out with some fiddling. It can be a bit difficult because of the tight space, but its worth it! inbox me if you have any questions. Ive done this twice now in a 2009 Ford Fusion.

      There should only be 1 pulley that you can move with your socket.

    I just replace the pulley on the belt tensioner. Now I've had two jumped belts.

    • @j.chrisbeck7492
      @j.chrisbeck7492 5 років тому

      Probably the tensioner itself failed.

      Timothy Kamalu yea typically the pulley doesn't go out the whole tensioner does

    • @j.chrisbeck7492
      @j.chrisbeck7492 5 років тому

      @@boostedkidproductions9719 wish I could post a pic here of mine, what happened is that the tensioner seized up, then the pulley started getting so hot, it caused bearing failure, etc etc.

      I'm working on a Ford focus with almost the same problem I have to change the tensioner cause the belt squeeling loud I already changed the water pump thinking it wasn't spinning how it should I had to jack the engine up to get to it

      If its just the static idler pulley, the answer is yes. For the tensioner pulley, no.

    • @paullinkins8121

      On my 2007 Focus SE 2.0 I did not have to raise the engine or remove the engine mount to R/R the idler pulley or bolt.

    8:07 "AC condenser" Nope, the belt goes around the AC compressor pulley. The AC condenser is the thing that looks like a radiator and is mounted in front of the radiator.

      @@2MostlyBaldGuysKC you are just plain WRONG, you lifted the car on the front so use your LOGIC here. TONY is 100% correct!!!! If the slope would be very steep than you would still use brick on both sides one in front and one in the back of back tire. It just amazes me how human brains can work (or not).

    Hey fellas, probably would of been a good idea to (1) to use a little lock tite to keep the bolt from backing out, (2) torque down that bolt to spec for that particular car...probably around 25-35 ft lbs and (3) the owners manual has the belt routing.

  • @SuburbanWhiteDad
    @SuburbanWhiteDad 2 роки тому

    That belt was completely ruined and you could have saved a lot of time by just cutting it out.

    When you do videos like THIS important, you should know before you replaced the belt , THE BELT ROUTING DIAGRAM , come on .
    It’s really easy , but you making it difficult for people that’s doing this for their first time.
    The belt routing it’s not common sense , you can really f… things up.
