So basically, everyone wants Sims 2 in the Sims 4
that's the problem when you are 4th incarnation of a game...people remember the previous games and want their features back in the new incarnations. the thinking is: "if they could have done this with the technology of 10-20 years ago, then why can't they do it now with this advanced technology today".
I'd have been happy if they had just kept working on Sims 2 allowed it to evolve.
I've always wanted this... with the sims 3 open world
Sims 2 memories, sims 3 traits, sims 3 graphics, sims 2 drama and lore, sims 4 ease of moving sims around and stuff like that, some 2 create a world, sims 4 create a sim, sims 4 building, sims 3 open world.

Unpopular opinion but I don’t think there is any way to fix the game at this point. The base game is so broken. It’s like knowing you need an entirely new roof but instead of fixing the roof immediately, you do patch jobs. That is what TS4 is. They would have to rebuild the game from scratch for any updates to really make a difference. Had they maybe delayed releasing any EP, GP, and SP and did a complete overhaul on the base game years ago, and then maybe things would have played out differently.
I do wish they’d fix the romance system though. If my Sim is not in an exclusive relationship It’s annoying when another sim accuses them of cheating. I want my sim to have the ability to date before becoming someone’s girlfriend.
Traits need an overhaul as well.
I fear you may be right and it's really quite disappointing.
I'm still not ready to move on from the Sims 4 I invested too much into it now for it to just end incomplete like this 😔
@@Wulframe Investments are risky, you win some and you lose some. Part of being a good investor is knowing the early signs of when the ship is sinking and when to get off of it.
Same, I don't think this game can be fix. Just let it die and start with TS5 with everything they do wrong in TS4
@Nymeria Of Riverlands I am new to the sims franchise with sims 4 being my first sims game. With the way EA "communicates" and has handled the sims 4, I am not interested in sims 5.
The only way I would even glance at sims 5 is if they revamped everything, from how they handle packs, to how they listen to feedback, to the crappy corporate management team, to the core game not being utter bare bones.
So unless EA plans to hire a group of people who make money from their exceptional talent and actually fund there creative genius and back off with their franchise destroying money farming schemes, then I'm not touching sims 5.

This is why I always say in my complaints, that the team has amazing ideas, but their execution sucks.
its a funny feeling to have, because it seems like thats basically what happened to the game. i saw a video recently that explained that sims 4 was supposed to be a full on online experience, and due to the backlash of simcity around the same time, they went against it. you can clearly see hair styles, furniture etc from sims 4 in that game and they didnt even bother to change the engine or anything aka the reason some features cant be implimented. we can only speculate from that, but id take a gamble and say they ran out of time before release and did what they could with what they had and that the engine's limitations makes it hard for them to dive deeper into certain aspects. as well as money. wish theyd be more open with this though rather than trying to hide it behind half-lies and excuses. the video can be found on pixelades youtube if anyone wanna watch!

Playing back TS2 I have to agree with you. How is this even possible that the 4th opus is less brilliant than the 2nd one which was launched in 2004... I don't understand this! And though it seems that it wasn't the main complain, babies aren't objects in TS2... and there are cars.

@UTube Junkie I think that aspirations is a mess. Some are way too easy or just like a freaking tutorial. And I don't like that for many aspirations you have to get a new career.

I find it ridiculous that a game that costs over $700 doesn’t have critical features that make the game entertaining. Sure you don’t have to buy every single pack, but even if you do buy all of them, the game will still not be fun. Just the fact that 1 singular half-baked game costs as much as like 20 games combined, says a lot about how much we need an actually good life simulation game that doesn’t lock important features behind a pay wall, and milk people for their every last penny.

I have legit googled How To Have Fun in Sims 4 because I felt like all these youtubers genuinely have fun with the game and I can’t get past character creation and making a gorgeous house. The actual game play is so easy and boring there is no threats or challenge or surprise or suspense..

The sims 4 just screams laziness to me. They are only affected for like a minute and then move on. The relationships / chemistry is the worst I have ever seen. They weren’t even flirting directly towards each other and already in a relationship? None of it make sense. Poorly done. Too many shortcuts in the game to the point where none of it feels realistic
That's a good point Christina. Shortcuts are exactly what they are!
They weren’t in a relationship though? TS4 is the first game that has separate platonic and romantic affection: romantic bar showing up is just a indicator that the sims might be interested in each other. The bar can be full, but they won’t be in a relationship unless you decide to make them go steady.
To be fair, there are people who are easy like that in rea life, but I do get what you mean. 😂 😂
Sometimes I just can't get immersed when playing the sims 4 and it just feels like a thoughtless mobile game. It's really sad, because the sims 2 and 3 were such great games, with flaws ofc, but my only hope is that the sims 5 is gonna be built from the ground up with everything we love from the old games.
I want the multitasking fixed.. Whenever i try to flirt, i find myself in a group chat and i can never get out of that 😠

Yeah, I keep myself ready to reset sims all the time for dates etc .. most unrealistic part to me is how kids/unflirty Sims will walk up to a couple on a date who are visibly making out, inject themselves into the "conversation" and yell at them .. just be a good lad and walk away, townie, you aren't Mrs Crumplebottom!

I hate how it lowers your relationship with the other sim involved. And while chatting up random people by itself is weird, imagine walking up to strangers who are obviously flirting with eachother, joining the conversation and then being offended because you find the flirting inappropriate. That just makes 0 sense.
The sims in sims 2 were so expressive ! if they were cheated on, they would slap their SO and steal their newspaper for like a week 😂 I want the drama back!

I don't play it anymore but I while I was playing, I wanted actual LORE and PERSONALITY for the sims. It's no fun when the drama is just in my head and not actually in the game

I still play the sims 4 but mostly only in Build mode and CAS, being in gameplay mode gets boring really quickly.

THIS is the main reason why I am bored when I play this game. I always have ideas of families I would love to create and play, I am all "tippy-tap" when creating them, but I KNOW their personalities will be messed up once I press play. They will all react the same way, have the same facial expressions, befriend the same townies, etc... Honestly, it's sad when the only autonomous way to make enemies in this game is having the evil trait. There's no alchemy at all
The amount of times I get whims for buying a POOL when my Sims is struggling to pay bills is rediculous. Maybe "go to pool" would be more reasonable, but the whole "buy" whims bother me if the sim isnt materialistic or smth.
I mean, this video on point. Cheating in front of you, you are a bit sad but still friends with everybody.. no running to slapping, crying for days.. sims 4 feeling want to be realistic but for me it is more robotic than realistic.. 🙁🙁

It just doesn't work, your sims don't care. I wanted to create drama by having my sim KISS someone in front of their current girlfriend WHO HAD THE JEALOUS TRAIT and she just didn't even care, as if it never even happened. And she had the jealous trait so it's like half her personality was utterly pointless. It's also extremely easy to make friends and npcs never prompt conversations or - especially - negative interactions, it just depends on the sim you're controlling to force, not just drama, but to just have SOMETHING happen. Noone gets married or pregnant, noone moves out of their households, your town just grows old and dies single and completely soulless. Talk about robots.
@adam cecic Yes! The Sims 1 had a great system to combat this... THE SIMS 1! If you spammed the same interactions too many times in too short of a time frame, the other Sim would start disliking whatever you said. You couldn't declare weather preference 10 times in a row and still become friends like you can in TS4. It's like the other Sim would start to think you were weird for doing the same things over and over.

Probably, but they've already said we won't be seeing a Sims 5 for a while. We'd all have to abandon the TS4 ship to get them to get their act together.

If things continue as they are or get even worse with EA.. The Sims 5 will only turn out to be an even bigger cash grab. At least there's no lootboxes yet or any of that nonsense.

When the community says we want cars and babies, that's us asking for the bare minimum. Things like an emotions overhaul seem so far fetched if ea can't even give us a five second animated object.
I cheated on Hank Goddard with Pauline Wang. No one saw us kissing but my maid. Day later I invited Hank on a date, and he accepted, but yelled at me and embarassed me in public, and constantly sends me thretning letters. I can‘t even get friends with him a year later, he doesn‘t even accept my calls.
I wanted to marry him, but I was playing a mental breakdown of my sim after her husband died from fire, and wanted her to have few different relationships at the same time. Now I have to find another guy.

I wish I could play the sims 3 but no way could I afford a high enough quality PC.
@@desertrose1226 I don‘t know if you‘d play with all packs or not. I only play with Seasons and Generations because I need them for my gameplay. But with two or three packs game shouldn‘t be that laggy. Idk if you already have a PC or only a laptop, but I feel like on any post 2015 PC this game should run quite well.
I just got a monster gaming rig, so I am back to Sims 3, hell, I didn't even install Sims 4 on it. I love playing it again.
It makes more sense when you realize the sims 4 was meant to be an online multiplayer game. Explains why so many features are missing or half-assed, or why your sims don't feel super unique (bc they were meant to be avatars) or why it feels like a millennial simulator that focuses on young adults.
Nearly every sim in the gallery is either a teen of young adult too.
I feel like Angry and Sad should override all other emotions

And tbh I think there should be death from sadness. Not as dark as RL of course, but at least that we would care for our sims. Now it's like "oh, you're sad? Just go and cry in your bed for hours, that's how you deal with life problems! Or just eat some magical fruit or buy nice decorations". And do they even refuse to do some stuff when sad?

To be honest, I'm glad cars and babies didn't make the top wants, because it shows we're all on the same page with understanding just how much help the base gameplay mechanics need first, before we even get to that stuff, it doesn't mean they're unwanted.
My problem is that the devs treat emotions like personality. Emotions do not define personality, everyone goes through emotions. We need way more traits to help define our Sims. The few traits that do exist are so shallow and primary. Like they feel like how an elementary school kid would define people in the world: Good person, Evil person, nice person, mean person. Jealous person. They're so basic and binary. In Sims 2 you had sliders so the personalities didn't feel so binary, you could be in the middle.
literally had no clue there was a memory system in this game, the features are so half assed and virtually have no impact on anything they might as well not even exist, at least the sims 3 memory system constantly reminds you memories exist, the fact we have to look for hidden things that seem like they should main gameplay features that the developers just seem too lazy to build on to making it semi interesting is baffling

The make-out has to be the most boring romantic interaction ever--probably for those kids.
It took me several sim days to kill my sim in a fire in their house because that little flame got out so fast 🙄 it's so watered down it's even boring for my 10 year old nephew lol
@@millyvice4423 I tried an asylum based on Sims 3/Sims 2 rules back in 2014. I did lose someone who died of embarrassment, but other than that, it was too easy for the sims. Then there was my shy bookworm when I tried rotation. I'd see her dancing at the nightclub and flirting, but never at the library. The game drives certain behaviors too much.
I Wish TS4 acted like it was Made to be Rated M, Ironically in Australia The Sims 4 IS M Rated, yet i treat it like it is PG
If they count success in sales numbers, sure, Laundry Day may be a success. But if they counted all the people that were extremely disappointed after buying this pack, it would be a lot different... Laundry is so glitched that it's unplayable to me, I quit buying washing machines altogether a few weeks after buying this SP. It's probably one of the worst packs ever made when it comes to gameplay features, but it does have a lot of cute objects.
What I'm surprised no one mentioned in the replies is that... SIMS. ARE. IDIOTS. I can't even express how frustrated I get sometimes with this game. They can't even eat a meal normally without walking around the whole house, sitting on 17 chairs, smiling, sniffing, hugging everyone... And then they go wash the dishes in the most distant sink they can find. They never respect the task queue and GOD DAMMIT WHY DO THEY NEED TO TALK TO EVERYONE ALL THE TIME?! Even if they're loners, they just keep interrupting each other's actions with some stupid crap... I like to play with free will on, but in The Sims 4 I'm thinking of disabling it completely...
So what I want in TS4 is: fix the Sims' brains, I'm begging you!

And I absolutely agree and this is actually what I always say when someone brings up a topic like this. The social aspect, the Sims' AI is terrible. It's feel like they were made to annoy us, because like when you want your sim to do something someone will always interfere, but when you want sims to have a conversation either once again someone could interfere or one of your sims constantly be like "yeah, sweetie, you look good today, I kinda in a mood for woo.. oh wait, I want to play PC suddenly". And dates because of that are just terrible.
Merta :DDD yeah, just the lack of "intelligence" in sims in ts4 made me jump back to ts2 because playing the 4 makes me tired and frustrated 😤

I feel you! For all the Sims 4 ability to have Sims multitask, they end up doing everything else so inefficient it makes multitasking moot.

Literally ! Newcrest is so bland and low quality compared to the newest worlds too. Since we can't make our own or edit them in any way, the least they could do is give us a small selection of worlds.

Most people don't! They never really promoted it or talked about it. It's just....there.
@@PleasantSims does using the memory system cause anything to happen to your sims or is it just "the screenshot and the sims tagged"
@@Wulframe It doesn't have any impact unless you choose "reflect on memory." Then they will get the same emotion that the memory has.
@@PleasantSims oh I see. Yeah you were right in the video when you said the memory system wasn't very user friendly. That sounds pretty repetitive and also like you said in the video you have to FORCE your sims to care about their memories 🥱
I feel like a lot of the stuff i want it's from The Sims 2...the hobbies system,the attraction system,turn ons and turn offs,wants and fears,the interests system,the memories system and also the favorites from sims 3,and many more traits that impact gameplay...i was playing with a mod that affects attraction and one sim didn't like the same gender so when i put my sim to flirt she got rejected immediately...i loved that,that's what i want,but specially based on personality
Yea I wish sims 4 had more personality and wants and fears and better trait and memories because it felt soulless without these things when I used to play sims 4 and I don’t think ea will change sims 4 anytime soon if they are giving us Star Wars

The whims barely even work. I'll lock something to complete it later and when I do it won't give the points or go away, especially for bigger whims.
I am still trying to figure out what all these surveys are for if they are not going to be fulfilled? All we've gotten are a few phone calls from npc's asking your sim to visit, if they should start a family, and a little rant about something. Nice, but we need all of these features and more implemented in this dry game.
i USUALLY play just one sim/family, but I still want depth in a sims character development so that when I send my sim out to a community lot I see these character traits expressed by the actions that these sims autonomously display based on each sims traits.

Sims 4 feels so empty for me, because I need something to spark my imagination to keep me interested. Sims 2 works well for me because when I play want-based, there's always something to do that's driving the story forward. It also helps me explore things I wouldn't normally try, like cheating or changing carreers (despite already being at a high job level). It just feels like my sims have their own personality! It's not just me telling them what to do, it's also them telling me what they would like to do. It disrupts my desire for perfection; in Sims 3 and even more so in the Sims 4, my Sims just climb up the carreer ladder until the drown in money, children get perfect grades, married couples never cheat, every teen gets a partner and stays with them forever, etc. At least in Sims 3 the neighbourhood evolved on its own and created drama, which was enough for me to play for a long time, but ever since I've discovered you, I've returned to the Sims 2 and haven't really looked back. While I miss the open world, the game keeps me interested and that's what counts. Rotational play isn't so bad either after I got used to it. Changing family every weeks even helps keep me interested.
That being said, I still played Sims 4 for quite a while. I simply love how multiple sims can keep talking to each other while doing other things, and the CAS is so darn fun. It's the first game where my sims don't end up looking almost the same. And for someone who hates building with a passion, the gallery was godsend. Too bad everything else is so bland, and the worlds too small to even attempt to build an interesting city... I never even bought a pack, because 90% don't interest me and those that do are just too expensive for the tiny amount of content they offer. So, all in all, I'm back at Sims 2, having a lot of fun and holding my breath for Paralives!
I know exactly what you mean! I love my Sims to tell me what they want instead of the other way around. That's one of the core concepts missing from Sims 4 and it's really a shame.
Late response, but i found that in every iteration of the sims except for the first (and i swear i did it in the first but don't have proof), i always made myself like a farm. It kept sims at home in sims2 when there were loading screens that took 5-10 mins (by the end, it took almost an hour to load the game from startup and i just kept it running for days because i couldn't wait for it to load or i would have to go do something else again).
In the original, i swear i remember having a massive lot with pigs and just feeding/selling them.
In sims 2, my sims would breed pets and ran a family farm where the kids would water most of the plants and the parents would sell the produce that they didn't keep for the fridge.
Sims 3 i did more generational work, building larger families and sending them out of the home more, but still having a large garden at home one or two sims was in charge of (then later automated by the robots from the future pack). This was also when i created more ideal sims because i could go with them out into the town without loading screens (riding horse, moonlighting at bars, non-rabbithole jobs). I had a lot more interest in creating a sim, living their life, and at the end of their life switching to their child who i'd made sure gained the right skills to continue their legacy.
Sims4? I didn't like the changes at first. It took a while to get into the game and when i did, it was because of the at-home things to do like the toddler update or retail (my sim just lived on the retail lot and the rest of the family would come visit). Every new expansion, i thought i'd get more gameplay, but it was really the same thing. There were things i liked in sims4, don't get me wrong, but being able to have the same hairstyles for males and females and customize the sex of the character doesn't really provide gameplay.
TLDR: sims 1, good start. I liked sims2 but my pc couldn't handle it. Sims3 was my jam. Sims4 was like a fever dream and i wanna wake up now :(

To me, Cars and Open World can be compromised if the Sims 4 gameplay and lore was amazing😅 Just like First Sims 2 base game (no open world nor cars, but great gameplay and lore)

I haven't played the sims in general in like 2 weeks, I think I've given up on it. I have 0 desire to jump into the game, when I try I get soooo bored. But if you handed me the sims 3 right this second I would jump in immediately with no hesitation. 😂

well it's kinda hard to play when nothing is working properly after the last few updates
I think we shouldn’t just have a chemistry, likes/dislikes system implemented but generally the whole relationship system needs an overhaul. Sims can do one autonomous romance action and it will spawn a romance bar between the sims, which isn’t realistic and I get what they were trying to do with the separate friendship & romance bars but it is INFURIATING when one of your married/unavailable sims is flirted with or something by an NPC and that spawns a pink bar for BOTH of them (we need one sided relationships too!!) when they did one romance action and are barely friends. The ‘just be friends’ action doesn’t even delete the pink bar it just empties it, I shouldn’t have to resort to cheats to stop my sims from autonomously spawning romance bars. I much preferred the older ways of relationships where romance was built upon friendships, so it couldn’t just happen to any old sim without reason or consistent effort into the relationship. Obviously things discussed in the video like chemistry, likes and dislikes and maybe even an implementation of sexuality/gender preference (with the option to manually select/control as well as randomise like in TS2) would stop this from happening and give a lot more depth to relationships. Half of the time it feels like romances & marriages don’t even mean anything because theoretically your sim can get with anyone you choose, and even then they can just develop other romantic relationships at the drop of a hat.
I really REALLY wish you had done a comparison for emotions/whims so sims 4 players could see what they're missing. The issue is not the mood *trust me, it's the interaction.* You know how in play order, when a sim is caught cheating, this is expressed through animations and interactions of the sims who were heart broken. Maybe that therapist guy came floating down because Cassandra's aspiration is to have a large family, but that's broken when Don Lothario leaves her at the alter. Mary-sue Pleasant may start smacking Daniel Pleasant around and ignoring him when she finds out about his devious affairs.
It was more than a small interface reminder that your sim was feeling blue, or your sim walking around with a frown on their face. Your Sim actually began to LIVE as if they had this issue with another sim in their household. Random arguments, fights, not wanting to sit together. This even occurred in the Sims 3.
I kid you not. I inserted a Don Lothario into my sims 4 world to spice up the romantic drama. As soon as Don Lothario began having affairs, it was as if everyone had gone dumb. He invited two of his girlfriends at his house and woohooes one of them. Both their relationship bars were high. You know what the sim who watched the affair did? She pouted and then kissed Don. She made dinner, began making friends with the woman Don was cheating on her with, and left the lot playfully.
She was literally a jealous and hot headed sim. She could have at least insulted them. But No, for some reason her memories does not remember Don being the reason she felt betrayed and hurt. I really wish you would have talked about THAT lmao

I love your sims 4 critique. Because you bring a point of view very similar to my own. I want to play unique sims with a consistent personality that makes me curious and attached to their narratives. Unfortunely we don't have this kind of thing playing The sims 4. This reflect in a movement to go back for The sims 2 or 3 that has been going on... But even playing the oldies we want an evolution and improvement in the franchise.

A real person would also be mad or grumpy for some hours...why can't S4 sims be grumpy? Besides of that, i don't like the emotion system at all. I would prefer more basic animations and strong traits. By the way i am very thank full to you that you adressed the problem with the missing CAW. Because this game will nit survive without one. That's a simple fact. I can just tell you that the gurus mentionend that the tool is not of the table and also that thery have some ideas, but since such a tool is nothing to generate money with, EA seems to lazy to bring one on the way.

In addition to the things mentioned in the video, here's some stuff I'd like to see added/changed (that I honestly feel should have been in the damn game already):
-- things like bunk beds (and loft beds!!!), food processors and trash compactors as well as telescopes that aren't redonkulously huge (mainly little things that were in previous games that aren't in The Sims 4 that greatly improve QoL, especially for family-focused play)
-- for Sims to stop doing freaking pushups and situps all the time autonomously when feeling energized. I don't care how athletically inclined someone is, NOBODY does pushups or situps just for the hell of it!!! Stretching I would understand (although I've yet to see Sims autonomously stretch--something small that IMO would be a nice thing to add: if a Sim's been sitting for a long period of time they get up and stretch because they're all stiff (and maybe if they have the Clumsy trait have a chance to fall over afterwards for hilarity))
-- more in-game minor comedic elements. (They did great with the books and book descriptions but it took me months to even notice that.)
-- SKILL ACHIEVEMENTS. Probably one of my absolute favorite things about Sims 3 was that just because you maxxed out a skill didn't mean that you'd done everything you could with that skill. The skill challenges were indeed challenging to complete and the rewards for meeting those challenges were generally worth the time it took to complete those challenges. It gave both the Sim and the player new goals to work towards even after a skill was maxxed out.
--Writer Sims getting a complimentary copy of their book after publishing. (Plus other Sims being able to read your writer Sim's book and tell them their thoughts (good or bad) about the book once it's been published)
This isn't a complete list of things I'd love to see added/changed in 4 that the video didn't cover, just the most pressing things (to me) that getting back into Sims 2 and 3 has made me realize that Sims 4 is seriously lacking

By this point I've lost hope in S4 I can't believe HOW much money I've wasted on the game. I want an update on Sims 5 but honestly Paralives is so far showing good stuff. Iknow it's still in early development but I'm happy with what they've shown so far. Much better than Sims 4 trailers.

Instead of turn ons/offs or favourites, I just want the ability to set almost anything I want in the game as a like or dislike for my sims. These could be favourites of things, it could also be turn on/off related, but it could also be that my sim likes or dislikes a specific career, or skill, or object, or world, or holiday, or club, etc.
A lot of the feature were a good idea, but the execution would not be. An emotion or trait or whim system is generally a great addition, but if these systems rarely affect gameplay in depth players get bored. Then the whim system has the pure basic of a "good" system. I mean it reasons why a Sim has a certain whim but overall it's too stale as pointed out in the video. I like the idea of one emotional whim, but it doesn't make up that there are only 3 whims who are clocked up by random seasons or buy whims which stay in a loop even after cancelling them out. It seems like Sims live more in the present and less in the future or for a great personality. I honestly don't care that the number of traits is low compared to the Sims 3 as they don't add much to gameplay in the Sims 4 anyway. The traits should get an overhaul before that. For the chemistry which currently isn't in the game I also look for incompatible traits like "familiy-oriented" and "does not want children" to look for a partner. As of now I as many other players have to rely on mods to make it at least somewhat good. I really liked the video. It was organised, fair and pointed out certain wants of Sims 4 players which aren't talked about enough in my opinion.

@@PleasantSims Yes, it wasn't mentioned in this video, but adding to the Aspirations along with the traits wouldn't hurt either. They add a new meaningless aspiration with every expansion that does nothing more than to make your sim interact with the new expansion. That would be ok if all of them weren't so shallow. And I need a mod to get rid of the bee box whim. Yes it's spring, why do all of my sims like bees? What about whims to go to the park? Pick flowers? Throw an outdoor party/BBQ? Anything besides a bee box. And how lazy was it for the team to disable whims instead of fixing them?
i’ve been binge watching ALLLLLL of your sims 2 and sims 3 videos and wow... i’m not shocked at how much better they are, i’m shocked at how the devs can be okay with releasing such a god awful game😳 like seriously, did any of the sims 4 devs work on the other games ?? because there is no way they could legitimately go from each of those games and be satisfied with the results. i would be so embarrassed, the sims 4 is a mess... it’s awful. the personalities do not exist. the emotions can be so easily overpowered. and my god it is so boring ! i’m so thankful for all your videos and i hope more and more people find them and put their foot down, stop buying these games and enabling them to continue doing this ! ❤️❤️❤️

A memory system is something that should not have been left out of the game. (The screenshot system sucks) Without it life events feel so hollow and pointless. They don’t remember anything. Without an urn sims won’t even acknowledge that their own mother or even child died after a while. And the reminisce action was a slap in the face.
100% agree with all of this! I feel like they really don’t have to do much, all of this is incredibly possible. Take the hobbies for example, it would be great to have things that our sims autonomously do that actually coincide with their personality. For example, geeks going to the computer or video games, art/book lovers painting or reading, gluttons eating even when they aren’t hungry. Instead of a snob sim randomly autonomously going to play sims forever for no reason.
I really don't know why, but even after that one girl received the Very Sad emotion after witnessing her crush flirt with someone else, the sims 4 emotions system still feels shallow to me. Maybe it's because the way they express their emotions is very cartoonish and over-the-top, in a way where it feels like the sims are clearly just "acting" sad or "acting" mad (and the acting is *atrocious*).
She also didn't get mad at either of the Sims involved. I feel like she should have become instant enemies or least become furious with the other girl who flirted with her man right in front of her. It's just a generic sadness - but even that's more than it used to be (just not enough).

Fur fact: The Sims 4 was actually designed to being online game. they showed pictures of what the game was supposed to look and it looks... Well... Like a mobile game. but then they wanted to scrap the idea but they already put too much work into it. So they just... Work their way around it.
For the romance problems, honestly Wicked Whims is a great replacement!! Without any animations it's pretty much just turn on/offs and menstruation (which can be turned off), I love it!!
I've been hesitant to install it because of the adult stuff, but if it can all be disabled I might give it a try!

Something annoyed me from “Get Famous”. I sim in my family died, everyone got the omotional bomb trait, because they were sad because THEIR PARENTS DIED. I was so annoyed, I had to cheat their sad need away so the wouldn’t get that trait.
I find Get Famous to be so annoying that I've disabled it completely. That sucks!

I played with the sims 4 after a looong time, and even if the expansion packs add a lot of additional content to the game I feel a sense of emptiness after 2 hours and I get bored... Even pets feel so flat and souless, it's really sad.
It would be a dream to have a remake of the sims 2 with the changes of our society, I really like the concepts of eco living, smartphones, working at home, multitasking and so on
In The Sims 4, there's barely a difference between good and evil sims. There's also only 30some traits.

I recently started playing the sims 3 and i cant even imagine going back to the sims 4. I love the build/buy and CAS from the sims 4, but the gameplay is so much more fulfilling in the sims 3

things I would want in sims 4:
1. better traits (for example, we have lots of activities that don't have associated traits such as a handy sim who loves to craft items on the wood table and upgrade items around the house or a computer smart sim such as programmer/hacker or rocket scientist etc) that can lead to better activities play and maybe have some better rewards (and not just an emotional boost) when that activity was performed (such as gaining items or even something like the badges system). Also, traits such as prone to addictions that sims need to either resist or overcome (such as addicted to social media or drinks or specific foods (such as a sweet tooth or a junk food addict). Tied to this improved traits system, it would be nice to get some better aspirations (that are not a basic tutorial for an expansion/game pack would be nice). We have lots of things the sims could be doing that are never addressed in the aspirations (master crafter/robot builder/food master (learned all the recipes)/fair master (gone to all the fairs and achieved activities there)/seasons master (did season activities such as sunbathing and building a snow-pal and played in the leaves)/etc). And the rewards for completing aspirations SUCK! In many instances, the reward has NOTHING to do with the aspiration (such as being fire-proof???).
2. better relationship system (for example I would like to see sims who have opposing traits such as one is a slob and the other is neat have arguments over dirty dishes all over or bunch of dirty laundry pilling up). Similarly, I would like to be able to assign chores to specific sims. This would be very useful for families game play such as assigning that a teen needs to do the dishes (and if this is an assigned chore to a specific sim then other sims (even neat ones) should not clean up their plates...the teen assigned to that chore should be the one doing it. Or assigning gardening to a specific sim or have a specific sim do the laundry, etc.
3. I would really like to have some kind of development for babies. I know that many have said this, but the concept that the baby is an object is one of main reasons why I really don't play family game play. The baby just sits there. Remember how in sims 2 you have a dirty bottle after you feed the baby. Or how you get a dirty diaper on the floor if you don't have a diaper changing station? How great would it be if we were able to have that back? Similarly, when a toddler goes in the diaper, we should not have to bathe the toddler every time. We should be able to change the diaper (as we did in sims 3 I believe). And babies should be bathed as well (in the sink or a new object that is a baby tub).
Honorable mention 4. In the same vain as babies, we really need more for children/elders to do. It would be nice for children to be able to have something more to do other than homework or a few hobbies (such as painting or playing video games). Once the child completes the homework, I am usually at a loss as what to have them do so I just leave them alone and they usually end up doing same things over and over again such as paint. They should also have more meaningful relationships with people around them such as having crushes or frenemies and be able to have a favorite parent to whom they confine in. They do have the scouts now, but that`s just an activity they go to off the lot (just like school) so it`s really not a meaningful addition. How about having kids go and play school sports (like soccer or basketball) or be part of drama/band/dance class. That would add some depth to the childhood. Similarly, the elders have very little to do that is specific for them (it would be nice if they needed a cane to walk, take medicine regularly to maintain their health and do activities specifically for them (such as bingo or have part time jobs specifically for their age group such as a greeter at a store or help run a business etc)).
One more note:
I really don't want farming expansion pack as much as many other simmers seem to. Gardening is so buggy already that I would prefer that they actually work on fixing the bugs that already exist then try to add to an already broken system. However, it would be nice to add some farm animals (such as chickens or cows or pigs) even if it's just an object as it was in sims 3. But I would like that in a game pack and not waste an entire expansion pack on this. I am sure that there are many other ideas on which an expansion pack would be much more appropriate (such as your suggestions of hobbies/favorites pack).

The saddest thing about The Sims 4's memory system is that it actually used to be better. There used to be a timeline of memories you could create and you were able to pick the emotion of the memory yourself instead of letting the game choose, but then got patched out for no reason. What we have now is just a bunch of screenshot with emotion buffs attached to them based on the emotion the sim was feeling at the time of the screenshot (and we know how well emotions work). They don't even go into a new specific folder, they just stay with all your other screenshots
I completely agree with you and all the point in the list, but for me, the lack of a Chemistry system in TS4 is at the top, followed by Story Progression. I hate not having anything that would tell me that a sim has a preference of some sort or likes somebody more than any other or if they even want to be in a relationship to begin with! This could help also with the personality problem in my opinion. Personally, I'm trying to improve my game with many many and many mods, from LittleMsSam to Polarbear sims, to Kawaii Stacie, to MCC (of course) and alas WW, that I use only for the attraction system (the rest is really not my cup of tea). For emotions I use Roburky Meaningful Stories. I was just looking for something for the annoying beebox whims yesterday! :'D

This game has been around for 6 years. Honestly I’ve given up entirely on any changes, and I think so have many other players. that’s definitely why there’s a rise in people playing the sims 3 these days! It’s crazy to think a game that came out in 2009 is better than one that’s come out in 2014...
Another thing they should've had with retail, is security cameras or guards. Kleptos in this game have waay too much power. If they get caught by a security guard, they should escort them out of the lot. So then they would be permanently banned. Security cameras would simply tape them, then they would be prohibited from entering again the next day. Lo! Then again consequences don't apply for The sims 4
I really noticed the emotions/needs when I was playing today. One thing that really drives me crazy, is if my sim’s goals revolve around something (archaeology for example), why aren’t the archeology related tasks fun to her? It doesn’t have to be everything, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to stop to make her play a video game every few minutes because nothing she is working toward is “fun” to her
I don't even play it, anymore, but I DID want better personality, better interactions between sims (especially family; family almost acts like strangers until you direct them to do something; like I was playing Sims 3 the other day and my two sims seem so in love, by going up to each other and randomly kissing and hugging and getting wishes to kiss and hug), more stuff to interact with, like the games lacks personality and character and it's simply empty. Then, from what we are learning about the start of the game (which I'm remembering as a reason I didn't buy Sims 4 in the first place and stayed away for years, lol), it's probably not ever going to be possible to really fix this game, so I'm not even worried about playing Sims 4, anymore, and SO GLAD I didn't spend anywhere near as much as some people have paid for this game. I paid $40 all together for this game, base game I got for free, and a few expansions and I still feel like what I got wasn't worth it. That's why I don't get how people KEEP spending money on this game while also thinking it's not very good. It's not getting any better if we're going to be really honest. And Sims 5 isn't sounding that great, either, so I'm only worried about new life simulators, most specifically, Paralives. I'm not too sure Sims is going to be strong after Sims 4, but I'll always be looking out to see IF it will ever be worth it again.
I have higher hopes for Sims 5 since it won't be an online game quickly rushed into a single-player. I feel that might give us a better foundation to start from, but who knows? I'll have to wait and see. I'm very excited about Paralives and I hope for more competitors in the future. I think that's the only thing that might save The Sims.

I tend to agree with all of this, I would just add body hair and options to remove/add some technology like the darn cell phone and bringing back the newspaper. When you try to do a generation playthrough and start a few generations back and they always use the cell phone and computer one generation after another it doesn't make sense to me.

You and the players that commented are really hitting the nail on the head.
With the cheating issue, a sim who is cheated on, if they become sad and watch a funny movie, the sadness should outweigh it. For example: Jane is sad john was flirting with sarah. Watching a funny movie doesn't make her happy it should make her "distracted" her heart hurts but a good laugh helps to comfort her.
The sadness mood depending on a sims persona can have a trigger mood. For example: Explosive sims become mad. If John flirts with sarah, then jane becomes mad and her whims should be targeted at being mean to john whenever he is around. When jane is around sarah she should get a mood of jealousy. If sarah was a friend, a mood of conflicted emotions could open other ways for us to talk to sarah with new interactions like sarcastic compliment, etc. If your sim gets anger, conflicted emotions and jealousy then the mood of a sim should just turn to "stressed".
When a sims becomes stressed, depending on "WHY" they are stressed and their persona should affect "HOW" we the player help to unwind them. For example if Jane loves outdoors and reading, then taking her to a club should not cheer her up, but taking her out to read in the park should help lift her spirits. After you lift her spirits, if you do more positive things with her, in other words say stack happy, and inspired(or a new mood called positive) then she won't revert back to her sad mood b.c you the player have decided she will keep a positive mood and move on.
With her uplifted mood, the relationship with john should still be mad until we the player decide they should mend relationship or hold the grudge. Same for being jealous of Sarah, unless we the player change the relation to broken trust or put jane in a self confident mood so she can grant forgiveness to sarah, then Jane should still be mad at john and jealous of sarah.
The mood idea as well as the whims sims 4 has is nice, but it lacks depth and falls short of making the sims feel alive and that is the real issue the game has.
Whims should tie into the persona, and into emotions as well as the aspirations of a sims. Whims should be little goals with meaning. For example, if your sim aspires to be a chief, the whim should have my sims want to cook something or create a new recipe. Even if they wanted to make whims REALLY SIMPLE, they could have made an attraction system that uses the whims to tell us that our sim thinks another sim is "interesting" and would like to meet them again soon. It needs to be more meaningful and less random ideas b.c its spring. Whims SORT OF do this, but like all of sims 4 ideas, it needs to be polished.
A majority of what was stated in this video I agree with. I think it's so sad that in order to have a meaningful romantic relationship, I have to download a mod (passionate romance). Even to get the kind of reactions I'd like to see happen in game has to have a mod too (realistic reactions). To me, it's very difficult to play The Sims 4 that much anymore. Not just because of these things, but because that "statement" nearly 4 weeks ago took away the immersion I used to have towards The Sims 4 (albeit at a much smaller amount of time compared to The Sims 2 and The Sims 3). I've gone back to The Sims 3 entirely, and stay away from the watered down game that is The Sims 4. It's impossible for me to look at that game the same way I used to.

Wicked whims has an amazing attraction system. I don't like the rest of that stuff so I just get the streamer version and turn off everything else. All I keep is the menstrual and attraction systems.

I loved Get to work get together and I feel like I would love Seasons. I hate the sims 4 itself though
Seasons has some really nice features - like the holidays and calendar. I enjoy that part of it.

@@calystaacollida8387 I do! I don't think it's anything innovative but it's nice to have the weather in the world. Plus, I really like how the worlds look in different seasons.
I remember watching gameplays right after sims 4 was released and all I thought was “that looks like a beta version”. And 6 years later it still does.
