Personally, I never hated that the Sims 4 was on an alternate timeline. I just hated the lack of _lore_ on these Sims that are supposed to be dramatic and iconic. It's awesome to see how Cindy imagines if the Sims 4 wasn't on an alternate timeline.
Yea this is how I feel, too bad ea could have done sometime really cool and unique. Like imagine a timeline where bella and don were a thing, or all the other possibilities
Same, I have no problem with it being an alternate timeline. Everyone plays the game differently, and this way they aren't locked into saying anything is "canon" meaning you've been playing Sims 2 wrong, or something. But there's no flavor to the expecting storyline in Sims 4. There are just Sims. Even the Pancakes house storyline doesn't make sense - we're supposed to think their relationship is on the rocks, they sleep in separate bedrooms, but every time I play them they have a really high relationship already.
I'm pretty sure the "alternate timeline" is just a bullshit excuse for the lack of effort they put into it. Their "timeline" makes no sense at all.
have you seen cindys video where she fixed the sims in willow creek? like how the bio for travis, summer, and liberty insinuates a love triangle yet they barely know each other... cindy fixed it so that travis is romantically involved with them both. same for all the other bios that are supposed to create drama! i think she is doing the other worlds as well but the only one i can remember rn is get famous
Same, I love the graphics, build mode is amazing! It's the best one out of all the games in my opinion, cas is really good too, it has so many options(if you have all the packs) but the lore is not really good.
So Cindy is basically telling us that she is a WAY BETTER writer for The Sims than The Sims Team themselves... I'm not surprised😂🤷🏾♂️ But this is so cool! Absolutely love that sims from the first playthrough of Pleasantview are there! Keep up the best work Cindy!💙

How are the sims team lazy in EVERY aspect of the game lol The only thing they put effort in was graphics...
I would actually love to see EA take on writers the way they did builders for the recent pack because of this exact reason.
They definitely need to hire you or better yet make your own simulation game

It's so clear how much you really care about the families and their stories. It's pretty obvious that the EA team didn't really care about the townies, and that gave me the impression that you weren't supposed to play them (oops). As I've never played any previous EA games I thought that townies were sort of for decoration, and only existed to make the worlds look less,,,, dead? Although I assume if I had begun playing previous games instead of just TS4 I wouldn't have had this issue. Great video! Keep it up!
Thank you! I know exactly what you mean. The Sims 4 is the first game in the series where I DON'T play the premade families and have to make my own. They really didn't seem to care about the lore in this installment unfortunately.
Same, I played sims 1 when I was 6, BUT never really paid attention.... Then I started sims 4 (when I was 20) and I thought they were for decor, until I saw Chrillsims3's lore videos that there's actual stories and its sad to see sims 4 in an alternate timeline..... smh
IMO the best part of the older sims games was the possibility for both. As it is right now, simmers HAVE to make their own families or else its just boring. The older games had families with stories and relationships which made them interesting to play. The way CAS was improved has helped but not everyone likes CAS.
Been playing sims 4 for a while now and installed sims 3 to try recently. Its really not the same. Sims 3 clearly more in depth. But still i wish some of the mechanic of sims 4 was ported to sims 3. Like multi tasking.

I actually play the opposite! In my game he has a little girl called Mel who he absolutely adores. He stopped being a Lothario to take care of her and make sure she grows up well. When she grows up I see them being like besties as she brings boys over and he goes mad.

I’ve always pictured him like a lothario that is really overprotective of his daughter and even jealous when she becomes a teenager because he “knows how bad boys are” since he’s one
I don't know about you, but it always bugged me how in the sims 4 originally (base game), Cassandra Goth was a teen, and Don Lothario is older than her, unlike in the sims 2, where they were, y'know, engaged and almost the same age! It's like they didn't WANT you to recreate that in the sims 4, and pursue that story-line. Plus they pretty much made all of the sims white who were more medium skin toned, (main exampled being Cassandra Goth and Bella Goth, and even Nina and Dina, since I think they were a bit darker in the sims 2 than they are in the sims 4!) They really just did them ALL dirty tbh.
This video actually kinda made me want to make my own sims 4 save with the sims staying mostly the same, but just edited to look more like their sims 2 selves, Bella and Don are the same age, and maybe try to make it to where Bella and Don are engaged? (basically, try to put the sims 2 into the sims 4 the best I can, lol)
(They may not have much to them, though, but my main goal is to just get all of the sims look the same that they do in the sims 2, not edit relationships really, since i dont know how, and if i choose to share it, people can just do whatever they want with the rest of it!)

Pleasantview flooding sounds like what happened to my parish after hurricane Katrina hit us 😅 completely flooded, coastal town, lots of people left bc of the destruction! I feel seen LOL

Cindy, to reset the ages of the sims, with the UI Cheats mod place the mouse cursor over the age bar and click with the left button, so put the number of days the Sim has and put a "-" and that's it, reserved age!

Pleasant Sims, don't rule it out completely. Sammyhotstud was one of the original devs for the Sims 4. I had created a call center mod for the Sims 2 that ALMOST no one downloaded, because everyone was playing the Sims 3 by then. Sammyhotstud downloaded it and loved it. It's now part of the tech career in ts4. Never say never, because you never know who might be using your mods and saves!

The original LP spanned 35 years, and this is only 25 years so they aren't together yet. But they are both single and ready to mingle! Lol

I’ve only ever played TS4 but this feels so much more well rounded and fun. Everyone knows each other, related sims are actually in each other’s family trees, the stories give you something to play off? And the next gen sims have histories! I’m amazed every time you make files like this
This is just making me want to create a save of my own and blend some Sim/households from all previous games that aren't so popular and throw them in my game. Anyways, I might download this too. It's just so very well detailed~ Love it

There’s a family in the bin, in sims 2, the parents have been on some tv show that took place in the future is something like that? They are so interesting! If i remember correctly they have a terrible relationship with their kid, so I make them get a dog för the kid that becomes his best friend, and I make the parents spend all their time with the kid too. There’s something erie about them, and their house, it’s like a tv set kind of.

Great job btw! What I am missing from this story which could add even more depht / realism;
- sims with negative traits and backstory, like anger management issues (hot headed), narcisism (self absorted)
- different body types, for example Daniel Pleasant’s son struggle with his weight due to his depression of their parents divorce and it makes Daniel bully him as he is a big sportsman etc.
- maybe some really extreme case when a teen ran away and living alone or somebody lost everything due to divorce or some unhealthy habit (partiing maybe) and went homeless (empty lot with a tent)
- more people of color
- pets (I know it’s not basegame)
Fun new stories for The Sims 2! Like that you included all The Sims from your The Sims 2 Let's Plays but where is Sam Burb (John and Jennifer's fifth child)? :D
I also hate that EA lazily went the alternative timeline route. I "fix" The Sims 4 by incorporating all the lore from the first three games while not erasing the new characters / scenarios that were introduced in The Sims 4. It's a lot of work but hope you enjoy reading the novel I wrote below. :D
Here's what I do for the core families that exist across multiple games. The established Sims continuity is that The Sims 3 comes first, The Sims 1 occurs 25 years later and The Sims 2 storyline occurs 25 years after. I establish The Sims 4 as taking place 10 years before the events of The Sims 2 (which mostly fits except for the Landgraabs and the Pleasants / Brokes / Dreamers they shoehorn in later in the series - I explain this by saying The Sims 4 is an alien's very small simulation of earthling families their interested in, which explains timeline inconsistencies but that most events that happen in The Sims 4 occured as per The Sims 4, just at different times with some inconsistencies).
*Goth / Crumplebottom (and Brokes and Pleasants):* First of all, I recreate the deceased ancestors of the Goths. A Goth home without a graveyard is not a Goth house. Unfortunately, their backyard is too small to have the graveyard I want so I have to build an underground mausoleum instead. I recreate all the deceased Goths - Mortimer's father Gunther, his paternal grandparents Victor and Gretle, his late aunt Frida and his late grand-uncle Samuel and his late wife Olivia (from The Sims 3: Supernatural). Gunther's first wife Lolita (ghost named Lolita Goth appears in Sunset Valley in The Sims 3) is also there. Mortimer's maternal grandparents Simon and Prudence are also buried here in addition to his aunt Agnes Crumplebottom. I have a sad backstory for Agnes. After Erik Darling died in The Sims 3, she adopted a child. She then went on to marry Robert Crumplebottom (who was mentioned as her husband in The Sims 1 and he may or may not be a distant relative - but hey the Crumplebottoms are rich aristocrats)! She went on to have three more children with Robert. Robert was a philanthroper, puppeteer (and magician in my game); and the Crumplebottoms went onto live a life of adventure on the road. But an accident went wrong on the road (maybe actual nefarious magic was involved) which resulted in Robert and Agnes' three eldest children perishing (Robert and the children went onto become the ghosts of Vegas, Cousin, Bratty and Boy who were in the Goth graveyard in The Sims 1). Robert Crumplebottom is also the brother of the Crumplebottom witches who appear in The Sims 3: Supernatural.
Agnes has one remaining son Derek who she smothered with affection but became embittered otherwise. Derek married a woman very much like his mother named Missy Crumplebottom. I intend for Derek to die tragically at some point in my game with Missy becoming the Mrs. Crumplebottom we meet in The Sims 2. Bella's family are also buried in the Goth mausoleum including Simis Bachelor, Jocasta Bachelor, Simis' parents Milton and Enriqueta and I created parents Yiannis and Eleni for Jocasta Bachelor as it annoyed me that her parents were missing.
Back to the present day Goths in The Sims 4, Cornelia Goth is still alive as Cassandra's memories in The Sims 2 indicate that Cornelia didn't die until Cassandra became an adult. I have recently bereaved Cornelia and her two very elderly cats Hecuba and Menelaus from The Sims: Unleashed move in to Ophelia Villa. However, I age Cassandra up to the start of her young adult years, ready to attend university as there should be a wide age gap between her and Alexander. I age Alexander down to a toddler as toddlers didn't exist in The Sims 4 at launch. Bella is aged up from young adult to adult as her and Mortimer should be around the same age. I believe she's just shown as an adult rather than elder in The Sims 2 because that's when she was last seen. Anyway, I maintain The Sims 4 decision to make Bella a secret agent. She becomes very interested in the paranormal and occult through that career and that's how she becomes entangled with aliens (among other things). Meanwhile Cassandra befriends sweet couple Darren Dreamer and Darlene Matlapin at university (who may have an unexpected surprise on the way). Cassandra remains living at Ophelia Villa throughout her university years with her family. She is childhood friends with newly married Mary-Sue Pleasant who is dealing with two stressful toddlers while her husband Daniel navigates the ups and downs (and special benefits) as an up and coming athlete. Young Brandi and Skip Broke also try to make ends meet with their toddler son Dustin in the poorest part of Willow Creek.
*Caliente / Lothario:* Meanwhile over in Oasis Springs, Dina and Nina Caliente live with their STEPmother Katrina and her new very young boyfriend Don Lothario. I recreate the Calientes' original TS2 family tree of deceased family members. Their kind mother Nighat passed away when the twins were children (as established in their memories in TS2). While Nina and Dina were in their teens, their father Flamenco went onto marry Katrina Embry. Katrina is impulsive and often irresponsible and may not have married Flamenco for completely pure reasons but grew to love her new husband and her stepdaughters, despite her often tumultuous relationship with them. After Flamenco died suddenly, Katrina had to step up to the plate but struggles to be a decent surrogate mother and has a complicated relationship with her two fiery stepdaughters. She's trying to get rich quick through the entertainment career but will new toyboy Don Lothario mooch all her money from her to pay for medical school, after falling out with his no-nonsense parents Nicolo and Adriana (still alive around TS4 time and also living in Oasis Springs)?
*Landgraab:* There's some timeline inconsistencies with the Landgraabs as Malcolm Landgraab should be the same age as Mortimer and Bella and not a teen as he is in The Sims 4. Even staying consistent with Mortimer's age, he would also be too young to be Malcolm Landgraab IV's great-grandfather from The Sims 2. To address the first issue, The Sims 4 is a tiny simulation of families of interest to the aliens and they made some mistakes with the timeline. :D Nevertheless, all the Landgraabs do exist. My backstory is that Nancy Landgraab is the niece of Malcolm Landgraab I (who never appears in any games and who I have made an elder brother of Nancy's father Chester). The Landgraabs are traditionalists with strict age old traditions determining what each member of the family should do. However, Nancy believes she the business acumen and qualities necessary to do the Landgraab name proud. She plays along with her domineering uncle first, marrying Geoffrey (but making him take her name) and giving birth to son John. However, she eventually becomes tired of her uncle's lack of appreciation and has a huge falling out with the family and a schism happens. She chooses the revered name Malcolm for her second son even though Malcolm I had named his own second child Malcolm II his heir. Malcolm II goes onto have The Sims 2 family tree, resulting in Malcolm IV as the most recent generation.
Meanwhile, there's plenty of drama with Nancy and Geoffrey as her eldest son John reveals he does not want to build the Landgraab legacy for her and wishes to become a comedian instead. Incensed that her eldest son will not realise all her dreams, she disowns him completely and he goes on to become comedian Johnny Zest. Johnny moves in with permanent college student Michael Bachelor and the two of them buddy around Oasis Springs living a fun, laidback lifestyle and flirting with women. With Johnny gone, Nancy pours all her resources into her second son Malcolm, a quiet good natured boy. When he reaches his teens, he strays away from his father's more good natured tendencies to developing some of his mother's more cut-throat attributes and follows in her footsteps. While Nancy presents herself as a legitimate businesswoman as is the case in The Sims 3, she is secretly involved in some criminal activities which explains in her involvement in the criminal career in The Sims 4. Geoffrey is a doctor as he is in The Sims 4. However, despite his often bumbling appearance and the perception as a pushover, Geoffrey is involved with a secret organisation (that Bella is also apart of) believing themselves to do good that often fight off the amoral secret organisation (that Nancy is part of). Arson is a common tactic used by both resulting in fires plaguing the Goth and Landgraab's family histories and their homes.
Malcolm Landgraab (Nancy and Geoffrey's son) changes his surname from Landgraab to Landgrabb (his name on The Sims 1 on console) to differentiate himself from his estranged successful relatives Malcolm II, Malcolm III and Malcolm IV. However, Malcolm Landgrabb becomes a ruthless real estate developer in his own right. He ends up marrying Hannelore (The Sims 3 DS) and having two spoiled children Dudley and Mimi (The Sims 1 console). His relationship will end with Hannelore and he'll take up with the cantankerous, facial loving character known as "Mom" (again as per The Sims on console).

I have a few questions:
-Why is not Alexander married to Cecile Goth like in the Goth family lore?
-Why if Cassandra, Daniel, Mary, Brandy, Don, Dina and Nina, are around the same age in the sims 2, (also in the sims 1 Cassandra and Daniel are the same life stage), Daniel, Mary-Sue, and Brandy are elders and not the others? Aslo the same goes for Darren, isn't he supposed to have around the same age with Cassandra?
-In the sims 3 why is Keighleen Langreak (I hope i wrote it right, I'm very bad with names) a child in the sims 3 when she wasn't suppossed to be born in that time line?
-Did Bella and Mortimer lived a happy life after she managed to come back?
-Why the sims 4 doesn't have personal bios? Wouldn't it be better if EA added them? Would it be possible to accesit from the CAS
I just started to make questions trying to remember another question that I couldn't remember.
Pretty sure they're not meant to be all the same age, idk about the days but there are many errors when it comes to that in the original games. The adult life stage in Sims 3 and 4 lasts from 35 to 59, and in Sims 2 it also includes the young adult stage (or at least, a huge chunk of it, if you exclude the time at the University) so also the ages from 18 to 34. Dina and Nina and Don being the same age as parents of teenagers would not make that much sense from the perspective of the events as well.
Sims 3 is the same timeline as the originals, so Kaylynn being born makes sense - for some reason though, they made her around the same age as Mortimer and Bella, which doesn't make sense, because she would have probably been an elder by the time of Sims 2.
So there are theories that Kaylynn Langerak in Sims 2 is not the same Kaylynn Langerak in Sims 3. My favorite thing to do is to have her be Parker's daughter who takes after her aunt, who is her namesake. Fixed that 10-something year jump real quick. I mean it's pretty obvious someone just hand waved the math in the storyline but that's what I did to make it make sense to me since in the sims 3 her brother Parker is a teenager and would be an elder and could have an adult daughter in the sims 2. Also, Kaylynn is not playable in the sims 2 initially and has aging turned off so she really could be the same age as the others it's just the aging doesn't progress for townies until you start playing them and it starts at the beginning of that life stage whereas she should be towards the end and almost an elder.
Wow you single handily put in more effort in these stories, sims relationships and houses than ts4 team/gurus. The whole alternative timeline is just a cop out. Anyways this is just amazing.

Aaahhh! I literally just finished cc-ifying the Sims in the original save file, and then here comes this one, which is exactly what I had always hoped S4 would be. Grabbing this one right the heck away, and tomorrow is Saturday, oh whatever shall I do?
This is so amazing and well thought out I’m obsessed!! I can’t imagine how much work this must have taken literally everything has been thought through
I love it! But I think it would be cool that after the Pleasantview damage, some of the families would move to Oasis Springs - the ones that came into my mind are Burbs and Calientes, and maybe also Daniel with Kaylynn to avoid the drama. I also see Alexander's and Beau's families moving out to raise their children in peace. It would make a space to introduce new families (Pancakes and BFFs I think) and to leave some houses empty.
I actually feel emotional. This is what I always wanted for The Sims 4 - to actually have a part in the storyline and not just be a compilation of random sims in random life stages. It feels magical to see these sims later in life, thank you! 💕
Gosh! This Is so cool Cindy! I'm also trying to make a save file, mostly for myself, and after I discovered your channel I've became so obsessed with The Sims 2, that I had to make a version of the Base game Sims In the sims 4, thank you for your videos and for being so inspiring!
Side note! I think Jennifer Burb would be In the Sports career, considering her dream to play soccer In Sims 1 ( just a thought!)

this really is an excellent direction for these characters to go in. it all makes perfect sense for them. i can tell you really care about these characters (far more than ea, lbr) and paid a lot of attention to who they were, which fed into who they became

this is DELICIOUS i always loved how sims 2 started with some JUICE and ZEST to it. mid action even! the details in 2 were so lovely that it is still amazing today even if the games code was held together with rubber bands and paper clips

Wow amazing work! I did the same thing in my game but my sims ended up in very different places. For example Lilith and Derren didn't end up together. Lilith grew out of her goth phase and actually grew up to be very successful. Angela got pregnant before she got the chance to go to college and ended up marrying Dustin and raising 3 kids. They live a modest life. She often envious of her sisters freedom and success. In my file Beau is gay and is married to Derren Dreamer. Also the Goths are no longer in charge of the family fortune. Dina married Mortimor and after his death she and her son inherited everything. Cassandra lives a fairly domestic life with Darren and their kids. She doesn't miss her old Goth life but struggles to balance family life and a career. As Darren was an artist he stayed home and raised the kids. Alex married the Lucy Burb and have a young family.

I think it totally makes sense that the Pleasantview families live in the sims 4 worlds, since they also lived in different cities in TS3 before they moved to Pleasantview!

Cindy I loved the save file🌟 and I will love playing with the second generation of Pleasentview made by you😉. I know it's a lot to ask but if you were able to build in this save file, Strangetown in Oasis spring and Veronaville in Windenburg it would be perfect.

Just now came across this video and I find it so excellent! In my Sims 2 game, Don left Cassandra at the altar and Cassandra had to deal with the heartache. But in comes Darren Dreamer who has been secretly in love with Cassandra. Darren woos Cassandra and they end up getting married. In my game, Alexander Goth also marries Lucy Burb. Don was still actively pursuing Nina who in turn, as a serial romantic, has been playing the field. Don wasn't waiting for Nina twiddling his thumbs, he also was playing the field. Lilith found love with Dirk Dreamer who encouraged Lilith to be her best self. Lilith developed a better relationship with her father especially when she went into the Athletic career herself. Brandy got her parenting act together and patiently steered Dustin away from the criminal career. I miss my Sims 2 families! Thank you for this beautiful game save.

This is such a fantastic save file! I downloaded it about two hours ago and I've spent most of my time so far jazzing up the sims a bit in CAS but the attention to detail in the storytelling side of the save file is absolutely beautiful. I have no words, I just love it so much! Thank you so much for making my Sims 2 stan heart's desire come true! 💜
It’s so satisfying to see someone as dedicated to their storytelling, timeline, and lore as I am. I’ve had 1 save file that I’ve played for years now. And I love building their family trees and making drama ❤️
I made a whole new mods folder full of your recommended mods and switched it out with my regular one, downloaded this save file and read up on your gameplay rules and can honestly say I have had the most fun I've had in TS4 for YEARS. Accidentally spent about six hours straight on it today, it genuinely does feel like a proper continuation of TS2, it is so well thought out!
This is awesome! I love The Sims2 lore (I completely skipped Sims 3 and kept playing Sims2 until 2016/2017) I might be wrong but I thought Mary-Sue was a bit younger than Daniel in the Sims 2. Either way, I think you’ve done an amazing job with this save file 🙌🏼
