i wish the community yells at ea more about personalities, i’m happy cars and babies are being acknowledged but personalities in the game are TERRIBLE, there’s literally no depth to your sim whatsoever, they gave us the sims 3 with 5 starter traits, favorite food color and music and zodiac signs then they throw the sims 4 with 3 traits and a walkstyle and call that a personality?? are you kidding me?? the whole personality system needs an overhaul REALLY bad
You are EXACTLY right! The Sims are all the same with no depth. I could forgive a lot of the other missing things if the Sims actually had some kind of personality. The traits are worthless and none of the Sims feel any different from the others when you're playing. And the whims?? Don't even get me started on that!! It's impossible to play wants-based (my preferred style) because every Sim just wants to buy a beebox and go jogging. The "emotions" are the worst thing they've ever done.
YES! I always downloaded a ton more traits for my game and sims to the point id basically downloaded all the trait cc and had to get mods to add more traits to my characters because honestly, how am I supposed to summarize my characters in like three very basic traits? Even getting to choose five would be better, and even then where's traits like Neurotic? Hydrophobic? And the ones they add in DLC are usually either pack specific or just one watered down version of a trait. I've been playing sims 3 because I found my old codes for it and it's making me realize that the ability to make personalities and characters through traits was so much easier and fleshed out back then.
I completely agree, When I've had sims die, I'm sad because they're pretty, not because they actually have anything that adds any kind of depth or elicits any kind of emotional connection to the sims I create.
What simmers want: snake What simmers get: not snake Honestly, all they would have had to do was make this an amusement park pack (with a star wars option) and I would probably have bought it. But that would have required, like, work or whatever.
Can we take a second to realize that they didn't even ACKNOWLEDGE The Sims 4 birthday? Not even a tweet with a gif, NOTHING. Also, did they really started working on fixing the skintones ONLY AFTER even the gamechangers had started talking about it? Why else would they need so much time?
Also about the game changers. So I am the only one that’s kinda mad about the fact that lilsimsie or what’s her name literally made a hashtag “justice for cowplants” because she cannot name her cowplant, her fans spam the devs with it (AND the dev themselves watch her content probably thinking what she wants is what WE want which is so untrue), and the devs had the audacity to make an update about it literally in less than 5 months or so? Which is infuriating I mean they are listening to these dumb requests some game changers make but the fact that people were complaining about the skin tones, nobody cares until a game changer speak about it? And the fact that they keep saying “it going to take some time to do it” BUT THEY DIDNT TAKE ANY TIME TO MAKE THE FEATURE TO NAME YOUR COWPLANT???!!
Lorena Francesca wow i didn’t know that... that’s fucked. Disappointed but definitely not surprised 🙄 Also really annoyed the majority of game changers are white people who couldn’t even come close to understanding the struggles of POC, therefore not prioritizing what a big chunk of the community wants because it doesn’t bother them unless someone tells them. Like sure it’s nice they have this “power” and influence but when they’re focusing on naming cowplants over inclusiveness...
alexie101010 exactly! I don’t like the whole game changers thing is annoying the fact that EA takes them in consideration but others? Like common. I mean yeah great for them for having sponsors, the game for free and a lot of privilege tbh for publicity and such but most of them are EA sellouts and it really showed with this pack. All of them that are trying to be like “well I’m not a starwars fan, but it a cool pack, we have aliens hats now wooow, starships so cool I like the vibe 💖🤩✨💕❤️” that’s a straight up lie and they are being a sellout. I’m not saying that they should spread hate or anything but common say what needed to be said cuz at least EA only watches and hears you, not the rest of us.
Right, Sesame Street deals with some serious issues and they do it in a very respectful way. Example explaining to Big Bird that Mr. Hooper has died, still brings tears to my eyes
and from the "New PacK" they said that literally the stuff we WE been asking for WONT be in it so it's not going to be Generations skin tones fixed babies cars etc its just another pack that the TEAM WANTS not WHAT WE WANT
do they forget that it’s a life simulation game sometimes?? it’s supposed to simulate life??? give me grocery stores, clothing shops, malls, pharmacies, school buildings, all the other rabbit hole building styles from the sims 3 would be good. i know we’re NEVER getting that in the sims 4 which is why i lost hope and i’m over it just move on to another game
@@PleasantSims there's a cooking overhaul mod for ts4 that adds buyable required groceries. I always build a grocery store with cc and go there to shop for groceries. that's the gameplay people had in 3 and its the one they want back. What do we get? Forced Disney ads.
I was never a fan of the rabbit-hole idea, as essentially you're just staring a building waiting for your Sim to reappear so you could play with them again, however, the clothes shops, supermarkets and so on we got in The Sims 3 added so much of a feel to the community in that place. On the other hand, the rabbit hole places - Schools, cinemas, work buildings, etc, at least added to the world in some way.
I agree! All of their excuses are just bs! If one person can make a whole freaking WORLD, how can a whole TEAM of experienced developers/creators not even add something so god dang simple as bunkbeds!? Not make babies objects? They literally added toddlers, a whole new sim with a whole new set of animations, clothes, etc. but changing animations for babies? Impossible, apparently.
@@user190isback8 Shame on people that support them with their money. I have a "free" version iykwim and i sometimes doubt it is worth my time to play this game with braindead ai.
Have they ever said why the Sims 4 was such a gameplay-downgrade from the Sims 3? I don’t understand why they weren’t able to have most, if not all, basic gameplay functions (babies, toddlers, cars.) etc from the previous game. It seems like most game franchises have little issue doing this. I don’t understand why they’re having to start from the ground up with some of the most basic functions of life for a LIFE SIMULATION GAME.
Initially they want to made The Sims 4 as an online games, so that's why most of its feature are simplified and the interface of the neighboorhood look like a Facebook games. Instead scrapping the whole project, and start over with The Sims 3 engine with better optimization and 'more pleasant' graphic (since TS 3 actually had better and detailed graphic), they choose to continue with this still unfinish game.
I heard somewhere who works in games encrypting one of their statements that people who worked on the original have left and there is no paper trails as to how they did it so now they’re just trying to puzzle together a mess while balancing on a trampoline while hoping no one else catches on how fucked up the basics are
yes, they did say it was a small upgrade from The sims2 right at the moment they let's you download and play the sims 2 by Origin. That's like 12 years ago.
@@gayandtired5370 This is true, but the Sims 4 solution seems to be just removing those features from Sims 3 that caused major issues without actually trying to fix them or make up for their removal.
@@PleasantSims wasn't he one of the guys involved with Cities: Skylines? Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Paradox Studios doesn't come out with their own alternative to the sims franchise.
the thing about skintones is still ridiculous. it's been 6 years and you can make your sim look blue but you can't make a black sim with a warm undertone. carmen king made a video about skintones and she used a mod thingy to make skintones and it took her like 5 minutes to make a skintone. it had no texture but it was an uniform color. simmers that make cc have been making skintones for years and poc simmers have to rely on them to make themselves into the game, it's embarassing for a series that prides itself in being "inclusive". regarding babies, farms, cars and more, they clearly know what we want but i guess they want us to wait for them so everytime something new comes up we pay attention and think "ah, so they will finally give us xyz thing" but instead is another thing no one asked for.
I'm not even a PoC, but to see their BLM pop-up statement was an especially stinging slap in the face. You're *affording them* the *luxury* of protesting? Seriously? You should let them do it anyway! You certainly have the money to stay afloat, EA. It's not some grandiose gesture, it's human decency. It's even *more* insufferable how performative this is because, like you stated, it's SO. SIMPLE. I think they're afraid to add the color wheel because they know we'll never need them reselling the same clothes over and over again anymore. It's just. Gross.
Totally agree with u I can't even make my real life family in game I have biracial children they don't have anything close to their skin tone and I couldn't make my husband or his family if I tried without mods it completely sucks
It was worse to start with, I think on release there was probably 50% less than there is now. Problem is the modders are so good, and it’s so easy to download mods to the game, EA provably thinks, why bother wasting resources when they’re doing it themselves.
"game development is hard!" but cc creators have done it for as long as the sims has been around? and if they dont want to pay cc creators for their work, then take the resources from previous sims games? they could honestly rip stuff from the sims 3 store (not even from the official packs) and people will probably not even realize it and pat them on the back! also I've seen people make improved skin tones (not even with texture) with 0 cc making experience... in 5 minutes including the time needed to find a good shade and then figuring out the software.
I'm a dev. Dev is not the hard part (unless you are potato) - getting stakeholders on board is hard. Communicating with the team is hard, getting the latest on the project is hard, and meeting the standards required to ship is hard. 80% of the project is the bureaucracy. I imagine most of their challenge is getting stakeholders on board. They probably have execs breathing down their neck requiring them to add certain things to the game.
the worst thing about that whole "they just want money" statement is the fact that the company would get money if they, you know, created stuff people ask for?? like if you meet up with peoples wishes and demands they will pay for that stuff and continue to do so because they're happy as a consumer -- and EA can't grasp this for some reason.
I think it's because it's up to what the SimGurus want as well and seldom what the community likes - e.g. what happened to community voted stuff pack, the majority voted for Eco stuff and Arts & Craft then what we got are Laundry and Knitting stuff which I still don't understand how. That's what I learned from Gigi's video about The Sims Team, I'm just impressed of the Simmers who still have patience with The Sims 4, if it weren't for building, I would have stopped playing it.
Welcome to every EA franchise ever. They even managed to screw up NHL titles, they basically copy and paste the old games, changes details to match the actual players of the year, update the game slightly and slap on a few more features... and by doing just that they managed to screw things up. To be fair this is most companies now. Even Paradox fell in that category with one of their games a few years ago, releasing DLCs that have 1 feature people want but change a core mechanic no one wants. The still newly released Crusader King III is good but it lacks so many basic features from previous titles, but people still pay $80 for that shit. It's in every companies and it works because people pay more for less stuff and more shiny graphics, which isn't that much work and I speak from experience as I self-taught myself 3D animations with the help of UA-cam only.
Me: Hey EA, You know how Johnny Zest is the Landgraabs disowned son? Well, he literally has no relationship with them, could we maybe get him updated so they are at least acquaintances? I'd like just something small to make it feel like a real world... EA: Here's some Star Wars stuff, buy it.
I also remember that Bella goth had a lot of details coded in even when she was dead. Their family remember her being abducted, and a lot of memories that normally you wouldn't think of. Sims 2 lore is just perfect, they cared a lot about the details, not like now.
Johnny Zest is pretty easy to fix. Just use the household manager to move him into the Landgraab household, clone him, make the clone related to them, delete Johnny Zest, then play the Landgraab household for a day. Then you can split Johnny Zest and move him back into his trailer. I always do that. It's one of the easiest problems in the game to fix.
@@nikkeisimmer8795 yeah been playing since its release and i have never picked up on that. not spending more money on bs to pretend to play a game that should have some functionality. its too late for EA at this point, TS3 was a good game but also a cash cow.
I once heard Gigi's Neck Of The Woods state, "Sims 3 was way ahead of its time." And it's so, SO true. If they could have worked out some of the kinks in the engine for Sims 3, they could have expanded upon the open world gameplay significantly.
I just went back to Sims 3 and, apart from the kinks I remember, this is way more fun to play than the Sims 4 - the sims have more personality and there's a lot more in this world, even with, in my case, half of the packs turned off.
Basicaly: "New expansion comming soon, but lower your expetations because its nothing you want." And The Voice over sound like its from troom troom vídeos hahahaha omg
This expansion pack better at least have some depth and be fleshed out if they've been working on it for a year. So many of the expansion packs feel unfinished.
Sims' PR team is lying so hard. Yeah, developing features takes time... but you need to actually let the devs WORK on those features instead of indefinitely putting them off.
I think the biggest kick in the butt is that people who make mods are able to make almost everything that simmers have been asking for and they do it for free. One moderator is even working on an entire open world in ts4 with cars, airplanes, subways and lots more. Most mods are even completely free to download and they only get paid from people who join their patrion
I've played Sims for 20 years. I wholeheartedly agree with you. Every other Sims game I could play for 6-15 hours a day, come back the next and continue the binge. With Sims 4 I get bored after 1-4 hours. I thought maybe the updates and DLC would make it better - and through the free updates it has improved compared to the base game in 2014 - but I feel like I can't play this game without mods. I never felt the need for mods (or even CC) in any other Sims game. Every other game had its run after 6 years. This one is still unfinished even with 700€ worth of DLC and it will never be a complete game.
But the sims 4 team is far more worse than Yandere Simulator considering that they are a game company with a lot of people while Yandere Dev being the only programmer in the team.
please!! yandere dev is literally doing that game for 5 years. I literally grew up watching...he works alone ig but didn’t he turned down help? also the sims its just greedy, the sims 3 was also greedy but at least the game was complete when it launched ( we had pools babies..) of some things got cut of some packs and threw to another one to gain money but nothing like Ts4, the sims 4 get straight up boring if u don’t have at least 4 packs
@@down2dead sims 4 is boring with only the base game. I would survive playing the sims 4 if I would only build houses... Then if it's gameplay... I would rather sleep or play the sims 2.
"Time's up, it's been six years." That about sums up where I'm at, yup. It's sad to see how badly they've mucked up the Sims legacy. Will Wright must be ashamed.
I agree. At this point I'm not excited for a new expansion pack and have no high expectations. The only thing I will say, that if it's something they've been working on for a year then it better be damn fleshed out and have some depth. So many of the expansion packs feel unfinished.
Lmao crying. It is like they are trolling at this point. I don’t play sims 4 but to see that a Star Wars expansion was the least voted and they still released it anyway is crazy to me. Lmao
If they made a Sims holiday pack with a trip to Disneyland as destination with a hotel, amusementspark (including the land of Batoo, Mickey Mouse and Big Tunder Mountain like that. That would have been so nice and fits the deal with Disney and fit the Sims as a life simulator. Oh and what did they do with the surveys. They just start from the bottom...
This 🙌🏻 I would totally send my sims to Disneyland, they could make rides. A Disney hotel. Would’ve been so much more interesting. People loved Makin Magic in Sims 1 that had the little amusement park. And Sims 3 had the world with the rollar coaster. I don’t understand where they got that we wanted a Star Wars pack? Like what?
What I hate the most in that pack is how I assume the leaders (haven't played it, but we see them in this video) are Rey "Skywalker" Palpatine, Kylo Ren and Hondo... Pick one timeline, not two! I would actually buy that pack if it was Ahsoka, Darth Vader and Hondo but that's just because I'm a bit too much of a fan of Ahsoka, so... Rey can get force chocked though, Idc.
I've been playing sims since the ending of sims 3/the beginning of sims 4. And I've grown up around star wars my whole life. And since 2014 the base game was bland and had a lot of bugs. And this isn't to offend anyone or to hate. But playing a normal sims game gets boring for me some of the time. And I try to mix it up a bit by buying some non-life simulator packs and I've had a lot of fun with them. I've played the traditional way with making a vampire family with the parents holding down jobs in law and the children going to school and getting A's and that bores me as well!!! You may be asking why are you telling me this. With the star wars pack, I made a sim put her on batuu went for a week or so and then went back to the city living town can't remember its name and got her a husband they went to together then the kids went and they grew up on batuu it was really fun! And I think this pack has so many bad reviews that people that might enjoy it don't get it and I think telling people not to get the pack because it's not to some people's taste is a bit mean and dare I say selfish? Again no hate
Wouldn't put it past 'em at this point and they'd be overpriced with literally nothing else in them except maybe a new hairstyle or t-shirt that no one would use because it's ugly and only has like two swatches that don't match anything else in the game.
The sad thing is I would’ve been interested in a hobbies and interests pack 🤡. But they refuse to put their assets into ONE pack and instead just put out single packs like Nifty Knitting. Knitting, bowling, movie nights, waterslides, laundry, parental gameplay, etc. in one Freetime/Generations-esque pack? Great! A knitting pack by its self... boring imo. The more I look back, the more I realize the game pack addition to the pack hierarchy wasn’t that much of an improvement to the Sims Store 🤔. SimPoints were expensive and weren’t worth the premium content, but at the same time I never got the impression that TS2/TS3 store items were taking away from the game.
They've kinda shot themselves in the foot by admitting this next pack they're releasing has been in the making for a year. Haven't the community been asking for cars, babies, skintones, etc. for the last year? I know I have been asking for that. -_-
More like +3 years at minimum since the sims 4 pets and my first pet stuff came out in 2017. People have been wanting horses since then. I think the babies being trapped in the cribs thing has been complained about since the game came out six years ago. So just those two things....yikes. They just admitted they've been ignoring what people actually want for at least a year by working on this pack that has nothing in it.
@@nikkishadwick9289 yes, exactly this... probably since the sims 4 release i would say, considering the fact that we didnt even have toddlers in the beginning
I’m trying to think what I’d want that doesn’t include these things: a high school pack, I honestly like sims 4 university more than previous versions and think a Sims 4 high school pack with a big overhaul to teens would be awesome; a complete generations pack though this won’t be that great without updated babies; and a resort pack with a few different destination worlds and destination wedding options. On the other hand on their current trend I’ve saved a lot of money thus far so maybe they shouldn’t do what we want 🤷♀️
Honestly, a theme park pack with the actual Galaxy's edge park area would've been a way better pack. They should've just embraced the fact that this is a pack to promote that, and introduced the actual galaxy's edge theme park, rides, hotels, etc. That would've been a good brand deal and would've faired way better than this empty ass game pack with little to no real gameplay
I've been saying this since the beginning why the fuck did they not make a Disney theme park with a Star wars area?? It would have been the most amazing pack
literally, my friend welds for a living and his job has been able to allow him to work from home these past few months with frequent zoom calls, yet you're telling me people who work on computers are unable to... like yo, is it your connection?
Into the Future did something new. It was room for experimentation and I did enjoy it, personally. There's more content in ItF than the base game of 4!
I put off buying into the future and supernatural forever and the ended up being some of my favorites. Because in ts3 there is so much more than what meets the eye
Well, you could still use its objects and outfits in your everyday gameplay. I actually loved all the little details about the Future (books, not being able to take babies born there back home and so on)
I agree that this would be way better as a Sims Medival spin-off. I like the idea of you picking sides and they could add some political war-like ideas to it which would make it more interesting and more playable since all three sides wouldn't be the same but this looks like Katy Perry didn't want the pack with her name on it to be called the worst pack ever so she payed them to make this :D
I agree too. However I think they won't do any spin-offs since again - it's so much cheaper to just add to an existing game vs create one from scratch. Even if they used parts of TS4 as a base, they would not even be close to get away with doing as little as they did for this pack. Plus many simmers (and there are a lot of active simmers) feel the need to have the complete collection regardless - so more would most likely buy a TS4 addon than a spin-off. EA may not bother to add much sims lore to TS4, but instead they cosplay as the Landgraabs a little too well. I may have written that one a few times before. :P
I agree! I’ve always wanted a Harry Potter sims game. However I would not want it integrated into the sims 4 because I look to sims 4 for life simulation.
My response to this non-apology: "Be kind"? Is it kind when we throw absurd amounts of money at you every time you toss us scraps? You make us a game update which supposedly fixes problems, but for every problem you "fix", six more pop up in its place and then you get to "fix" those, or as I've learned recently, ignore forever when they are utterly game-breaking problems. For example, I recently had a problem crop up in my game that was first noticed by other Simmers at least two years ago: some apartments in San Myshuno at some point, for some unknown reason, become completely non-editable. Sometimes they can be worked around, mostly not. I managed to fix mine and then it broke again within an hour. It has been reported. A LOT. Is it fixed? The emotion system was born broken. The sense of humor for this game series? Broken. To be quite honest with you, EA, we know you're a corporation. We know your entire reason for existing is to make money. Journey to Batuu is a money-making venture, backed up by Disney. Of course it was a priority for you. Literally no one cares. What we're tired of is you all engaging with us in such a way as to try to make us feel like we're being listened to, and all you're really doing is trying to make us feel like you care. If you care, it will motivate us to spend more money. We're not fools. But we also know you're paying attention. You've heard all the things we've asked for. You haven't produced those things. Instead, you all decide what you're going to give us, throw us surprises that are actually good, like ladders and off-grid windows and doors, and sit in your ivory tower, proud of yourselves for making us scream like little girls over a tiny piece of content that makes us happy, as though you've cured freaking cancer or something, and then go back to cobbling together the next EP/GP/SP/Patch that will break a bunch of stuff you then get to look like heroes for repairing. NO THANKS. Do you want us to "be kind" to you? Here's some kindness: You are so appallingly good at finding things to mess up so that you can fix them for us much later that you ought to work for the US federal government. You're frankly wasted as a game studio.
So correct me if I'm wrong but the target audience for this pack is: - Children who - Have never played the Sims and - Are into Star Wars and - Will purchase the game because of this pack. What? I can't imagine this is a large percentage of the gaming community. What were they thinking?!
I reckon they're hoping some Star Wars fans will be like 'i don't have any interest in The Sims but I guess i'll buy it so I can play this pack'. Then they can boast about how many millions of people have purchased the game (we'll pretend they didn't have it available for free for a bit there at the same time).
Count Rye I can confirm the Star Wars fans I know are just waiting for the next battlefront and don’t give a flip about the sims. I asked my friend would he play it if it was free and he said no 🤣
The sims 4 is dead to me , nothing they do now will ever redeem themself in my eyes. I been trying over and over again to like that game but I simply cant , because its worthless to me. Like you Cindy all I every do when I actually do play ts4 is building a house and make a sim and just exiting the game without saving and go back to the older games. The sims 4 has no drama , no risk , no story , no soul nor heart that we had in the golden years of the sims 2. My childhood was shaped by the sims 2 and the sims 3, even as a adult I spend hours and hours playing those games because it makes me happy. The sims 4 just makes me angry , sad and disappointed 😔
I feel exactly the same. This game is done and over for me. I am also angry, sad, and disappointed. I have never seen a company so out of touch with their player base - except for when Diablo made a mobile game and announced it at Blizcon to literal boos from the crowd. That's what this reminds me of.
Pleasant Sims Indeed , its almost like EA sees us a walking talking wallets instead of people. They don’t seem to care about our opinions and our issues anymore. The sims franchise is now and forever a trilogy , I’m going to erase the sims 4 of my mind. It’s s a expansive knockoff.
I’m glad that other people feel this way. I thought that because I’m older now I maybe grew out of the sims and that’s why it was boring to me, the sims 4 that is. But since all this happened with the sims 4 and watching Cindy play the sims 2, I decided to boot up the sims 2 and been having a great time.
I've played The Sims for 15 years. I've still haven't purchased The Sims 4. When it was about to launch and I heard that it would not have: 1. Open world 2. Toddlers 3. Pools 4. Terrain tool 5. Ponds 6. Colour wheels 7. Etc I just said "no, I ain't about that bullshit sis" Even though that they've added things over the years, it has either been in overpriced packs, lacking in depth or way too late. I don't trust them. I've never once during these 6 years felt an urge to ever get the game. All hail The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 🙌🙌🙌
Good choice. As someone who did buy it, believe me, you’re really not missing out on much. The Sims 2 and 3 are way better than 4 (can’t speak on TS1 since I’ve never played it).
This is what they should've expected by marketing themselves as transparent and interested in hearing the community. In prior games we didn't have access to anyone on the team, and they didn't ask us what we wanted. We were at their mercy, and thankfully, they knew better than to take our love of this game for granted and make good content because they wanted a complete final product. Whoever is in charge now wants the brownie points of being a "woke" company with an involved staff while still maintaining that aura of superiority that says they can release whatever they want and cash in on our loves of the franchise. It's been so horribly executed and butchered I can't see how they'll recover from this. They had the audacity to release a poll asking what we wanted, only to completely disregard it for the brand tie in. They had the audacity to directly say to the simmers "We know exactly what you want, but you don't know anything about game development so we're just going to make what we want instead." You may not know how to make a cake, but you can tell the difference between a good cake and one that had no effort, love or soul put into it. We are smarter than this. We deserve better than this. They know that too, and that's what hurts most. EDIT: Apparently there WERE active gurus for previous Sims games and they actually listened to the community... Another reason to be disappointed. Thanks for letting me know Sammy!
🙌🏽 PREACH!!!! So well said! There's no statement more patronizing to a group of angry, hurt, upset, frustrated people than "We hear you." The devs certainly have to have thick skins to take all of the criticism they receive about what they seemingly work hard on - but to be so callous in your replies as if one placating sentence will blow away the backlash...... it's so asinine.
Sammy Kay and the irony is even though H&M and IKEA stuff was hated back then, it definitely stands that test of time since it has more beneficial stuff items and CAS than some of the other stuff packs and especially this game pack.
It's funny how in their post about being more transparent, there's actually no transparency? If you want to update us on what you're working on, then fucking do it, don't just tell us you'll do it later
A little back story for those not in the know. I've been playing the sims since 2002 😊. The creator, Will Wright was ahead of his time😀. He created a small team to help him elevate the gameplay, which consisted a team of 5 then it grew to 20. I had all the expansion packs for the first sims game. The sims 2 was even better 🤗, but he was starting to have issues with EA interfering with his creation😐😫. He left mid way of creating the sims 2 but EA kept the original team🤐. With the sims 3 the original team was fired when it was completed 😩🤬and EA started a completely new team hence the sims 4 fuck ups😡😡🤬🤬🤪🤯😰🤢. It is true, the sims 4 lack the fun, depth, details, soul and quirkiness of the game 😥😫😤😫🤦🏾♀️. Now I just play the game to create builds and upload to the community🤷🏾♀️💆🏾♀️.
Playing sims 4: Step 1: Create a sim, or family. Step 2: Build a house/move into existing house Step 3: Close the game for another year and play sims 2. Simple as that.
Sims 4 is built to be boring so you keep buying new packs to stop the boredom, only to feel unfulfilled and even more bored, so you buy more packs, until you realize and stop buying their packs.
Also, why is it that they, "don't have the foundational technology" to improve babies and add bunkbeds, but TS2 and TS3 did? I mean surely it must be easier nowadays with the way game development has improved
I've not finished the whole video yet, but you're addressing how the gameplay doesn't appear to be anything more than just walking around, and you're correct. Yesterday most of the EA Game Changers released their early access reviews and as expected most of them just sucked up to EA, but Plumbella gave her 100% honest opinion. She emphasized how the gameplay is completely empty and that Batuu is really nothing more than a facade. She even went on to talk about how if she was not provided with the pack, there is no way that she'd buy it. I think her video was definitely worth watching because she really addressed the issues with the pack and I'm happy that a game changer would do this because maybe EA would want to try and listen. They're called game changers, after all.
Jay15951 The way that I look at it is that if they’re not being paid to talk about it then they should be able to say anything that they want, and that’s what she did.
Whenever I read "facade," I know hear Mumbella's pronunciation, haha! We watched JT's first early access video. He has been very critical of things--even able to have some build/buy changes. As a huge SW fan, he was excited, but kept saying, "well, that's weird...I don't understand why it's this way..." I thought it was pretty honest. I felt bad for the GC'ers who have no clue about Star Wars--even the aspiration (aka, game play walk though) thoroughly confused them. This shows me the pack isn't geared toward Simmers who have no clue about the Star Wars Universe and its lore (although lore seems lacking). Wish this would have been a "Journey to Theme Park" game pack.
Foundational technology hmmm. I remember a similar excuse for the reason we couldn't have a colour wheel in the game. But oh wait! It's suddenly possible for the Pets expansion! It's such an insulting excuse to hide behind yet again. The Sims 4 is so watered down compared to the previous iterations and that is because it is developed to be that way. It's not technology or budget or time constraints. It's the design and development CHOICES of the company making it. That is why we don't have the things we keep asking for. Richer gameplay and realism?? Only the modding community comes close to delivering that. As a player since the very beginning of the Sims I have never felt more patronised than by this constant BS.
I mean from what I've seen from the lightsaber fights they are an improved version of sword fights from Sims medival. So they defintely have fundational technology they can use as a base for the animations.
Makes sense. Kids won’t notice the small details, won’t notice if animations are reused. All they care about is Star Wars. Kids would buy it. I completely get where EA is going with this. I feel like The Sims is getting more and more targeted at kids.
To me, it actually doesn't make sense... Because if they show this trailer to kids, they wouldn't even be able to play the pack, since The Sims is for ages 12 and up.
@@k.jablonski4635 PG-12 is an age indication, not a strict rule. EA seems to be painfully aware that younger kids also play this game and seem to be targeting them more than ever with this iteration.
This was such a misstep. That reply from EA was a fancy way of saying "we aren't giving you all what you want so stop asking." Also, I love your accent.
"Ea...Do You Hear The Simmers Sing? Singing the Song of Angry Sims, It is the Music of the Simmers who will not fall for your crap again!" i'm sorry i just had to lol
When I found out that SimGuruLyndsay had a large part in the decision making process for the Star Wars pack, I went off on her. A comparison I made that I'm pretty proud of is that it felt like your best friend had punched you in the face for no reason. It felt like that kind of betrayal.
The voiceover totally makes me feel like I'm a five year old having a story read to me, meanwhile I'm actually a 30 year old who has Wicked Whims downloaded in my game 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I know this is gonna sound pathetic but I started getting teary eyed when you said the sims is becoming unrecognizable. It really is and it makes me so so sad, to think back on being younger and ACTUALLY being excited for expansion packs in Sims 1,2,3. I cant get excited for these packs anymore, they lost their sparkle 😞
Hear ya sister. Your comment hit home, I've never looked forward to any expansion in TS4. TS1-2 era was always surprising. TS3 still fun even if it was a bit predictable as they recycled stuff but they did bring new things....but TS4????? Meh.
It doesn't sound pathetic. This sadly is a one of kind franchise. As if now nothing similar really exists. Hence why EA has been able to get away with so much; we have no where else to go. Some of us grew up with this franchise. It's amazing and filled with so much potential. It's nothing but saddening to see it being thrown away because of greed. I truly hope Paralives can deliver, but I'm keeping exceptions low.
I've been in it right from the original Sims game; it was amazing and I couldn't get enough of it. Then Sims 2 came and it was even better, with great new expansions along with a few old favourites and again, a great way of solo gaming. Then we got Sims 3 and PHWOAAR! The open world was just fantastic and just the base game had so much, you could play just that for a whole year and still not discover it all. The expansions were phenomenal and I loved how they slipped in a surprise occult sim in each one. World Adventures - how a REAL Sims adventure pack should be, not a 'play through it once and you've done it' piece of garbage, no - you had to keep on going back get further in the adventures. Island Paradise - WOW! Scuba diving, boats, water activities ... stuff never seen before in a Sims game and it was fantastic. It's only downside was how buggy it was, which EA could have easily fixed, but their greed won out over that decision! As S3 was coming to a close, the Sims community were excited over what we were getting next. Well, we got Sims 4 ... ... ...! Erm ... it's, um ... c'mon guys, help me out here! The price for the base game was so through the roof, it was fucking ridiculous! For this one, I felt it wise to 'try before I buy'. I tried ... didn't buy! From the reviews I've watched on the base game and the expansions, I'm glad I didn't. Even during the Sims 2 years, when they started fucking around with viruses, we all knew that EA is all about money and screw the customers; and did they ever this time! Each new addition to the franchise brought something new and it was a big improvement on what came before. But Sims 4 was a massive jump back; the base game had less in it than the original Sims, the toddler life stage was gone, teens were gone (they're not teens, they're adults that go to school!) and there was so little to it, you were done in a few days. Likewise, the expansion packs don't really give you a lot either and quality wise, they don't come close to the 2&3 expansions - nor the originals, for that matter! So this is EA greed and laziness in action and this is what we can expect all the time so long as people continue to throw money at it. Question: if Sims 4 was the first game in the franchise, would it have gained the popularity that it did? I don't think so. Sims 4 has more expansions than any former release and more are coming; there doesn't seem to be an end to it. If EA are planning on making a Sims 5, I honestly don't have high hopes for it being any good - you can rest assured it'll be expensive though. Hopefully, another games developer will make a similar game that will piss all over Sims and they'll put more effort into its content. Until then, I still have my 2&3 games and I'm happy to keep playing those.
Its like they made a kids version of the sims basically, yet they failed to realize that most people who will buy a life simulator are teens or adults, specially the ones who grew up with them.
It's not Maxis, though. Maxis was a good game company and Maxis stopped having control over the Sims during Sims 3. EA is who has control over Sims 4, which is probably why it's as bad as it is.
@@BooDotBoo Actually the true reason behind Sims 4's lackluster state is the fact that the game was meant to be an online game. This is why the gameplay falls flat but the build/buy is very rich in features and functionality. But yes, EA did indeed ruin this franchise.
I have to laugh. They have the audacity to tie in a franchise that is about OPPOSITION and CONFLICT while the sims 4 has no conflict, no drama, no risk, no opposition? I cannot even fathom this lol this is so EMBARRASSING
I remember the toddler patch was a great addition to the game, tbh ts4 toddlers are the best toddlers in the entire franchise. Why can't they put the same energy to other things the community desires for?
What kills me is that we had hotels and campings (sims 1), functioning shops, malls and cars (sims 2), horses, secondary homes, better traits and personalities (sims 3) etc etc and they can't be bothered to do it again with the sims 4
When the Sims Team explains how it is easier to create an entire alien world, CAS, build/buy and debug along with all 50 missions compared to a set of simple bunkbeds reusing the CLIMB LADDER and CRAWL INTO BED animations, then and only then, will I stop complaining that they are ignoring our requests.
Yeah, this was insanely insulting. I've been playing The Sims since the day the original came out in 2000. You said how I feel best, The Sims 4 does not feel special to me. They've continually ignored the bugs and glitches and just keep pushing out packs, which just creates even more bugs than before. On top of this, they blatantly ignore the fan base. If they really paid attention, (which they don't) they've known what the fan base wanted since before The Sims 4 even came out, because fans were sharing their hopes for The Sims 4 all over The Sims official forum when they announce that it was in the works. With The Sims 4 they're basically just a) creating a more bland, but just as buggy Sim 3.0 and b) a shallow cash grab of a game. And as for The Sims 5? At this rate, not interested. I've heard that it's going to be multi-player, so I'm sure it'll be loaded up with microtransactions. Thanks, EA, for taking what was once an amazing game and dragging it through the mud while pretending to give two shits about it.
i absolutely hate how the devs just talked to us like we are kids "geeh, i just bought you this new gift and you don't wanna play with it anymore" and "it takes time to develop new things tho" like the community is asking something different every week, but actually we want improved babies, cars and more consistent gameplay since day one! i haven't heard so much about it before, but it's obvious that everyone wanted better skin tones and hairs as well. i bought only the base game back in 2014 and i only have about 30 hours in this game. i got sooooooo disapointed that i only tried to play again YEARS later... even rn with all those update it's just so boring i don't want to invest more money in... i think i should have enough fun with a game before i spend more money in it
I feel like we are in an abusive relationship where we’re waiting for a douchebag boyfriend to change while being unable to leave cause we’ve already h invested so much...and keep believing in their false promises...that they’re not even making lol
@@DGTelevsionNetwork Yeah but they gave us Into the future which is byfar one of the best EPs to every exist in the series. No other sim games allows you to actively travel through time AND effect the future's outcome!
@@juliaspars921 I'm not a big fan of it personally, and it felt honestly very gimmicky. Like why go in the future when you can just buy the future stuff in the present lmao
Another anti-EA rant and I'm here for it. I knew this was most definitely a joke when Sim Guru Lyndsay said that the Star Wars pack was the devs idea. I mean, honestly. I'd be more mad if I had actually invested more money into this but on a base level I hate seeing the franchise become whatever this is. Exhausting.
I have lost all respect for Lyndsay. I can't believe her tweets in defense of this. She was on the team since Sims 2 and she's saying that this is good enough. It makes me SICK to see what this game has become.
Pleasant Sims Yeah Cindy, Disney and EA have a contract with each other for 10 years since 2013 so I’m pretty sure Lindsay is just taking the brunt for this rather than it actually being out of obligation. I feel bad for the Gurus man.... some of them have been working with this franchise since 1 with Will Wright and for it to get to this point is just... depressing.
Also look into the aspirations and bonus trait for this. The category is just “star wars” not even fully immersed in “Deviance” aspiration or Popularity or Fortune... it’s just a tutorial lol
They just said “we are listening but we aren’t giving you what you want” this response feels rushed like the pack. Btw I used your no townie tutorial and I just started making my hood like Edgewood and it’s kinda fun!
I feel you (.づ◡﹏◡)づ. For me it feels somehow like breaking up with my toxic ex. You put up with their sh*t for years, always pleading and hoping that it will get better. And then something like Batuu happens and you see clearly nothing is ever going to change and you are so over it. And that's it. I'm over it. I have a very modded, very interesting and drama fueled Plaesentview in TS4 and I don't want to touch it anymore...
I think a lot of people are feeling exactly like this. I know I am too. It is bitter disappointment. Breaking up with a toxic ex is a great way to put it.
@@PleasantSims It really feels a lot like that surprisingly, because it's just a game and I know that. Perhaps because of the emotional bond with the franchise and the great times I had with it, I would think. And I read a lot of disappointed simmers who are also saying they are just over it. I don't think, that TS4 will fully recover from this blow unless they change the core gameplay in 2021. Please excuse my language and grammar. English is not my first language and it's not that easy for me to translate my rationale for my opinions.
If I wanted to trust EA and be overly optimistic, I’d say EA appears to be ignoring our requests now because a lot of their team is on Sims 5, so all these base game requests for Sims 4 are actually turning into Sims 5 edits and fixes. However, I have no trust or hope for EA, so... no real excuses.
Your channel is literally a "relief. I'm tired of seeing videos of the so called game changers being "enthusiastic" over this kind of unfinished stuff, even protecting this greedy and nasty company and calling everyone that says otherwise "ungrateful". Also I just love the fact that you're still playing the sims 2, and creating content about it, this is so rare nowadays. Keep up the great content, I'm glad that youtube decided to recommend your video, you're one of the last genuine sims youtuber out there.
This is precisely the reason why I stopped watching James' videos. To me, he's coming across as more and more of a downright toady. Unfortunate, as I used to LOVE his videos...
Esactly I remenber being called "negative" for pointing out that strange town really didn't have that much alien content as fast you ended the quest and didn't make sense that actual alien contact was made in get to worck. Like what's the point of have teamed expansion packs if you just gonna hide stuff from one to other. No mixed sims of descendants, nothing to replay, not even interesting family's or secrets around, the packs feel more empty and disperse. You guys remenber when all the paranormal creatures came mostly together?
Personally i feel that she comes of as a bit of a crybaby, dont take my opinion as an educated one tho considering this is the first vid of hers im watching and im not gonna knock anyone who enjoys it because everyone has personal taste. And theres no doubting that EA is just a really greedy company (they gave us star wars battlefront 2 where u had to spend at least $2000 irl just to earn every item including playable characters from lootboxes) but personally i think with sims its less of a problem considering they allow mods (im still new to the sims community so i dont really know if they r trying to cancel mods but it doesnt seems like it) meaning that literally anyone can make and add stuff to their game for free, its better than banning mods, then remaking them and charging us for it. Also if u really want features from the sims 3 then just go play the sims 3, like there is literally nothing stopping u from doing so and letting those who enjoy the sims 4 enjoy it.
@@PleasantSims I like your huge angry response to the devs (aka, assholes) message to everyone in the community. But just a side note, I think you have a grudge against the devs, and everyone else does too.
Let's be real, the best thing EA has done in the last 6 years was giving us The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free. That was by far the most generous thing they have ever done and having that again was better than The Sims 4 period - I had some decent times with TS4 when it came out but otherwise I've just stuck with TS2.
I'm surprised how some simmers apologetic towards ea, like "give them the benefit of the doubt". Come on honey, wake up, sims 4 gone down the pooper and nothing will save it.
I couldn't agree more. If you're defending this greedy corporation after they have destroyed this game (and many others) in the name of money, you deserve this shitty game.
I'm going to say something now, it's going to be long and I'd like you to bare with me a bit here. I may sound stupid, you can disagree with me or not, it's fine. Okay, I'm going to say: The Sims was not supposed to be a DLC based game, nor a kids game. If you take a look at The Sims (1), you can see that it has little EPs released. It can be because of the technology of the time that didn't let the game have so many extra content, but I think, in part, it is because the game itself was, in a way, already "complete", and the DLCs were just to spice things up a bit, to bring more fun to the game. At the same time, it showed a opportunity to make money of that DLC game format. Needless to say it was not the most "kids friendly" game hahah. It was a bright future for TS. It was iconic. On TS2, we have lots of DLC content, but the base game alone was already a pretty decent complete game. The expansions just added new possibilities and realism to the gameplay. It is a good and well done game because, although it set the "base game + lots of dlc content" format, the EPs and SPs weren't depriving the game with crucial stuff in any shape or form, they were adding more fun stuff to do and bringing realism to a very loved life simulation game. Again, needless to say it was still very bold and quirky, although it was toned down compared to the first one lol. On TS3 this mindset changed a bit, since they knew the playing audience was very young and some features were highly expected already (University and Pets for exemple), they left those as DLCs to make easy money and toned the quirkiness down even more, but then again, the base game was decent on it's own and when implementing the EPs and SPs, they did a great job, they added even more things to do. We expected cats and dogs on Pets? Well, then here are some horses, cats, dogs, birds, lizards, snakes... You expected going to university on University? What about some interactive classes? Smartphones? Nerds, Rebels and Popular groups to get into? So on and so on. It was still funny. On TS4 we reached the *PEAK* greed and money grabbing on the franchise! The base game was a total disappointment! There were no ghosts, no toddlers, no pools, no nothing basically. It is right now a game for kids. It doesn't even look like a Sims game anymore. It was released broken. It is absolutely unplayable without the DLCs and they knew that! They format the EPs, GPs and SPs and what content goes on them precisely so in order to have a fun experience you *MUST* buy them. And some even complement the others! It's like DLC for a DLC! Where I live, having the full game cost *THOUSANDS*, more than the minimum wage! I think that The Sims games will only be good again if they lose that "DLC based game" format and tried to make it complete since the start, before releasing, even if it took them longer, not forgeting that the game has 20 years and it's core audience are now adults! Kids are an easy target to make money, but The Sims is *not* a game for kids. The DLCs should bring new, improved and funny things to play. They should be optional. They should be funky and bold. And more importantly, they should be fewer! That way, the game *HAS* to be well-made and complete. I know it won't happen at that point, because they would lose money, but yeh... I guess dreaming won't harm anyone...
I agree. They're totally pandering to children because that's where the most money is made. And they can make more money without trying as hard. Im ready for a sims 1/2 adult audience game again
I've played Batuu a few times and learned some things about this map. The droid can be used as a radio back home, yes, but has a tendency to break down a lot so your sim needs to be able to repair or having one is pointless. Do not bring toddlers or children with you unless you don't care about them running around without clothes; That's what mine do at least. Only teenagers or adults can do the missions. If your sims are a witch, don't think that you have an advantage; your powers won't work as long as you're on Vacation in Batuu! The bar is the only building you can physically enter and interact with besides the Resistance Headquarters where you will find their mission table, when and if you manage to break in without being arrested or if you have the rank to enter whenever you want. Don't come as a vampire or mermaid, your sim will die! They don't let you bring your pet, so if you started your game with a dog or cat and decided to try out this adventure, you can wonder if your cuddly friend is starving to death at home. Too late for me to take Pleasant Sims' advice of not buying this pack!
EA: we've listened to your complaints, but we don't care about it at all, now we're going to release a pack with cute furniture and you will forget about it instantly, and if not, we will do a community pack to show how much we listen to the community.
Ok I do NOT know anything much about programming, but that skintone thing really cracks me up. The other things I can kinda rationalise that they might present some problems, but how hard is it to add more COLOURS? :D
They could have just done disneyland, like the actual entire park as a vacation location. Then added in the components so people could build their own theme parks with the items that come with it. Would have been a lot more interesting than just a starwars pack.
I’ve given up hope for Sims 4 a long time ago. It’s like something that is broken internally but gets fixed up on the outside to cover that it’s barely running anymore. I actually used to hope for a better Sims 5, but seeing the recent competition for Life Simulation with Paralives and People of the Newbery, I think EA might actually have given up on the franchise entirely and is just milking Sims 4 for as long as they can before they’ll have to discontinue it. That’d be another franchise EA has just completely killed off, wow.
I think you're right. It's incredibly sad to me. But once EA got their greedy hands on this, it was doomed to fail. I have no hope left for The SIms 5. I'm looking forward to Paralives.
Another franchise EA has killed off, but also almost like a whole Genre. There used to be more in depth simulation-style games back in the day. You know like with larger communities/cities with radiating consequences. The only simulators I see now are like "trucking simulator" "flight simulator" etc. There is a literal car wash simulator on steam if you look it up : P But no big titles I see that are deeper than driving a machine of some kind. Anyway, without endeavors like Paralives I think the deeper sim games might be gone. Also I raise all 3 of my eyebrows at game packs which seem to want to market The Sims as questline-focused gameplay, when all everyone really wants is a bigass dollhouse of intrigue they can play any way they want. Quest-heavy content seems more like you want to play Skyrim or something.
Unpopular opinion: I’d be equally upset if the new aliens were incorporated in the occult system. The sims has always had a clear cut and dry feeling for the aliens. Greenish to blue skin with big black eyes. If they introduced SW aliens into that mix it’d ruin it even further.
The things so many Simmers have wanted for so long (as well as some additions from me): The colour wheel (so skintones, hair and clothes can be EXACTLY what the player wants and can adjust to), better babies, bunk beds, cars and bikes (fast travel optional), horses, the ability to go to work wherever your Sim goes (or, if you have more than one with a job, you can choose which Sim you want to follow to work), babies with the Grim Reaper, the option to switch on or off pet free will so you can choose if you want to control the animals or not, tweens, the Family Kiss, and the ability to roam and explore the whole neighbourhood like you could in The Sims 3 ... NO. LOADING. SCREENS. Edit: The only time the EA team listened to their community was when they made toddlers, pools and added some skintones. That felt like it. After that, they said they heard us, but they chose to IGNORE us.
The fact that the game is essentially unplayable without mods and cc is what makes this so sad to me. I never played TS2 but I'm a die-hard fan of TS3 and I NEVER got bored. The base game had so much to do. TS4 base game is a joke. I have lost so much respect for the Sims team. They don't care what we want. As you said in the video, I wouldn't even be mad at a Star Wars pack IF they had waited until they at least added essential things to the game. I'm a Star Wars fan, and I won't be buying this pack. It looks boring as hell.
I remember playing Sims 2 when I was very small and it was great. I accidentally starved Puck to death while trying to get money from my money tree and tried to feed him macaroni but it was too late. Good times.
The Sims 4 in general is a half-assed game. Back when they released it, in 2014, there were no toddlers, no pools, and lots of other missing things that were in the other previous sims games before. They released an unfinished game and it seemed like they aren't really bothering to fix it either, until we (the community) spoke up about it. They just keep releasing things that the community does not want/does not have an interest in. So with that being said, I 100% agree with what Pleasant Sims said. Especially if they want to save themselves now, they need to release the things we have been asking for since the beginning. Some advice for other simmers out there; just play the older games. I've personally been playing the Sims 3 and it's seriously the most fun I've had in a while. The Sims 2 is great as well. Plus don't buy this pack or any other packs they release that you don't have an interest in, it's seriously not worth it.
Apparently, it was originally gonna be an online game called "Sims Olympus" or something, but that got cancelled, so the devs just threw some stuff together and released the Sims 4
“The Sims 4 is becoming a joke.” That is 100% true. They are overestimating fan loyalty big time. People have been asking for a family oriented Generations style pack for a while now. If they could’ve announced in this memo that the next pack would include some features they could’ve saved themselves. But the next pack isn’t going to include that stuff either?? What could it possibly be? Something stupid I bet.
I cant believe that, 6 years later, they've been unable to *listen* to what their community is asking for. It's not like were asking for much either! We just want our games to be alive. To have the few things that are missing. To enjoy this game like the many before that has sparked love and joy. To PLAY a game worth playing. I personally just want the Sims 3 personality system back. Give me traits. Give me Zodiac Signs. Give me favorites. Also, the Sims 3 colorwheel or the Sims 2 swatch system. Is it a bad thing that I want lilac sheets on a dark wood bed? Listening to 'apologies' like this only infuriate me! All you need to do is give us a free update so we can have the things that are BASIC NECESSITIES. Sorry to vent like this but OMG.
The truth is that they gave us an incomplete game in 2014, and though they've tried to fix some of those things. This wasn't even a good game to start with. Firing up my sims 3 game, after this. Thanks for speaking up
your argument is respectful and well articulated, and i completely agree with your points. thank you for putting this together and posting this, speaking on the behalf of so many of us.
That letter might be the most patronizing, condescending mess I've ever heard. I honestly wish I had continued to hold on out on buying The Sims 4 like I did until two years after its release. Would've saved a lot of money and disappointment. :/
I'm gonna forever be mad that they really didn't add a color wheel😠. All I want is for my furniture to match. Also I need a generation something because parenthood is not enough. It's just boring playing with teens.
I’ve never seen one of your videos before, but I absolutely fuckin adore you now 😂 your reactions and facial expressions remind me of the way I react to things, and your lil accent (is it southern? Kinda? Am I impaired?) just seals the deal! New sub here, can’t wait to binge your content ❤️ love from Toronto, Canada!
i wish the community yells at ea more about personalities, i’m happy cars and babies are being acknowledged but personalities in the game are TERRIBLE, there’s literally no depth to your sim whatsoever, they gave us the sims 3 with 5 starter traits, favorite food color and music and zodiac signs then they throw the sims 4 with 3 traits and a walkstyle and call that a personality?? are you kidding me?? the whole personality system needs an overhaul REALLY bad
EA is literally, like actually the worst company in the game industry.. doesn’t help that Disney disregards any fans older than 10
I completely agree, When I've had sims die, I'm sad because they're pretty, not because they actually have anything that adds any kind of depth or elicits any kind of emotional connection to the sims I create.
Maybe they don't know what personaltys are, because they didn't play preivious Sims games :D
Best line ever "oh look a snake maybe we can have it as a pet.......oh wait thats sims 3" lol
As a simmer that just got into Sims 3 this line I just... i started floating
What simmers want: snake
What simmers get: not snake
Honestly, all they would have had to do was make this an amusement park pack (with a star wars option) and I would probably have bought it. But that would have required, like, work or whatever.
The whole video has best lines ever lol
@@teganhurd641 Right? If they made it an amusement park, it would have been better.
Yeah. It's so funny. "Where did she get that crazy idea from? Sounds so impossible." No. The Sims 3.
Not surprising with all the hate they're getting right now. Lol
One sim guru posted a nice drawing and I saw two other gurus retweet it, but that was it. Nothing from the official Sims Twitter account.

What mod is that?
That's like 12 years ago.
i think it was because they wanted it to run better like the sims 3 didn’t even work properly

the thing about skintones is still ridiculous. it's been 6 years and you can make your sim look blue but you can't make a black sim with a warm undertone. carmen king made a video about skintones and she used a mod thingy to make skintones and it took her like 5 minutes to make a skintone. it had no texture but it was an uniform color. simmers that make cc have been making skintones for years and poc simmers have to rely on them to make themselves into the game, it's embarassing for a series that prides itself in being "inclusive".
regarding babies, farms, cars and more, they clearly know what we want but i guess they want us to wait for them so everytime something new comes up we pay attention and think "ah, so they will finally give us xyz thing" but instead is another thing no one asked for.
Thats whats infuriating it isnt as hard as EA makes it out to be in the slightest and modders do it for free pretty much
I'm not even a PoC, but to see their BLM pop-up statement was an especially stinging slap in the face.
All of this 🙌🏽
"game development is hard!" but cc creators have done it for as long as the sims has been around? and if they dont want to pay cc creators for their work, then take the resources from previous sims games? they could honestly rip stuff from the sims 3 store (not even from the official packs) and people will probably not even realize it and pat them on the back!
also I've seen people make improved skin tones (not even with texture) with 0 cc making experience... in 5 minutes including the time needed to find a good shade and then figuring out the software.
Well, game dev is hard, and it does take time....but they have had 6 years to fix things and haven't
"Game development is hard"
Yes, for people who have no business being in the job.
@@SleepyKwee oh sweetie.... lol
PREACH
I think it's because it's up to what the SimGurus want as well and seldom what the community likes - e.g. what happened to community voted stuff pack, the majority voted for Eco stuff and Arts & Craft then what we got are Laundry and Knitting stuff which I still don't understand how. That's what I learned from Gigi's video about The Sims Team, I'm just impressed of the Simmers who still have patience with The Sims 4, if it weren't for building, I would have stopped playing it.
They still get money for this shit somehow, us people never learn to vote with our wallets
@@davidkonevky7372 ...and our feet. We need someone else to take up the torch and give us the Sims game that we remember 1, 2 and 3 being.
Thank goodness MC Command Center exists
I also remember that Bella goth had a lot of details coded in even when she was dead. Their family remember her being abducted, and a lot of memories that normally you wouldn't think of. Sims 2 lore is just perfect, they cared a lot about the details, not like now.
Johnny Zest is supposed to be the Landgraab's disowned son? What the hell happened to Malcolm Landgraab?
Johnny Zest is pretty easy to fix. Just use the household manager to move him into the Landgraab household, clone him, make the clone related to them, delete Johnny Zest, then play the Landgraab household for a day. Then you can split Johnny Zest and move him back into his trailer. I always do that. It's one of the easiest problems in the game to fix.

Yeah Sims 3 just needed better optimization and smaller worlds.

Most mods are even completely free to download and they only get paid from people who join their patrion

Wouldn't put it past 'em at this point and they'd be overpriced with literally nothing else in them except maybe a new hairstyle or t-shirt that no one would use because it's ugly and only has like two swatches that don't match anything else in the game.
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th thing is all I want in this game for it to feel more alive and story progression.
If they did this, I would LOVE it, but it'd be far too little, far, far too late :(
The sad thing is I would’ve been interested in a hobbies and interests pack 🤡.

LOL! Now that's a theory I like! 😆
🤣🤣🤣 This made my day. Thank you
I agree too.

Oh hell no sims be kind to the people who pay the bills
The only way I was able to watch gameplay of The Sims: Star Wars, was with Jim Pickens throwing a molotov at Kylo Ren and Rey.
My response to this non-apology:
"Be kind"?

Right. Mods is what’s keeping this game afloat

When it was about to launch and I heard that it would not have:
1. Open world
2. Toddlers
3. Pools
4. Terrain tool
5. Ponds
6. Colour wheels
7. Etc
I just said "no, I ain't about that bullshit sis"
Even though that they've added things over the years, it has either been in overpriced packs, lacking in depth or way too late.
The only reason I've got TS4 is because it was SUPER cheap (like 1$ ig, wasn't in $ so I'm not sure)
"Make your Star Wars story" with linear quests!
"Make your Star Wars story!"
But only how we want you to do it
This is what they should've expected by marketing themselves as transparent and interested in hearing the community.
Thank you, Max. That was very well said and I agree completely!
Playing sims 4:
Step 1: Create a sim, or family.
Step 2: Build a house/move into existing house
Step 3: Close the game for another year and play sims 2.
Simple as that.

Forreal! Like what's the point of this pack!
Also, why is it that they, "don't have the foundational technology" to improve babies and add bunkbeds, but TS2 and TS3 did? I mean surely it must be easier nowadays with the way game development has improved

@@itsbobo that's why sims 4 is a fail: it relies on modders to fix its issues.
I'm happy to hear that too! It's about time the Game Changers stand up to this BS!
Yeah! Team Plumbella here ahah I watched and loved her video too 💪🏻
of course the last game changer who was very vocal in their critique was lgr, and they dropped him soon after
Jay15951 The way that I look at it is that if they’re not being paid to talk about it then they should be able to say anything that they want, and that’s what she did.
Are you saying that there is now a colour wheel? I can change colours and patterns?
@@biancalawrence3178 the color wheel is only for changing the Pet's fur color and pattern. It can't be used for anything else.
Yeah it's a shame the colour wheel hasn't been included for Sims as well! The community has been asking for better range of skintones. So frustrating.
I read somewhere the gameplay trailer was also posted on Star Wars for Kids... So yeah, that explains that one. 😐
That makes sense. It seems like it was targeted toward the Disney Channel crowd.
@Chris Didn’t consider that... Could be for the Disney contract, but there are people supporting EA on Twitter.
It felt like that kind of betrayal.
specially from her that it's in the team since the first game!

Tbh, I installed WW yesterday and it’s so much more fun than the base game with packs 🤭🤭
WW makes the game digestible
Preach!! I swear all I ever do in sims 4 anymore is make pretty sims to play with WW with KFJGJFNVJVJNF
Same!!! This clearly shows they dont know their demographic.
I used to play sims three when I had no friends and it helped me through it but they’ve ruined friends
Maxis: COVID!! That’s it!! COVID forced us not to listen to feedback for YEARS!!
Oh and coding is hard!! So lower your expectations now!!

Yeah! We need some actual friggin Cars.
They should call the expansion "The Sims go to DIDNEY WORL!"

I've also been playing it since the Sims. 20 years now. I'm not spending anymore money on Sims.
i absolutely hate how the devs just talked to us like we are kids "geeh, i just bought you this new gift and you don't wanna play with it anymore" and "it takes time to develop new things tho" like the community is asking something different every week, but actually we want improved babies, cars and more consistent gameplay since day one! i haven't heard so much about it before, but it's obvious that everyone wanted better skin tones and hairs as well.
i bought only the base game back in 2014 and i only have about 30 hours in this game. i got sooooooo disapointed that i only tried to play again YEARS later... even rn with all those update it's just so boring i don't want to invest more money in... i think i should have enough fun with a game before i spend more money in it

I feel bad for the Gurus man.... some of them have been working with this franchise since 1 with Will Wright and for it to get to this point is just... depressing.

Holy cow - another Cindy rant!? I'm sitting back with a bowl of grapes because I frigging love you and I need some TEA to go with my grapes!
LOL. They're getting my blood pressure up, Jenn!!
It's like you are reading my mind.
Well said
That voice over literally sounds like it’s out of a Barbie movie
Don't insult barbie movies like that.
Barbie movies had better VOs tbh
Even Barbie games/movies aren’t that obnoxious
With rhetoric like that, their PR person should probably run for president.
LMAO!!! That is spot on, Jo!
To be honest, i see a bunch of spoiled kids now screaming all around: "but this idea is so good"...
The majority:

Ok I do NOT know anything much about programming, but that skintone thing really cracks me up. The other things I can kinda rationalise that they might present some problems, but how hard is it to add more COLOURS? :D
Rlly, skintones are just recolors of the same skin mesh file
All they need to do is recolor this/those meshes
EA needs to hire the people who make CC. They’re VERY talented people and they know what we want.
They could have just done disneyland, like the actual entire park as a vacation location. Then added in the components so people could build their own theme parks with the items that come with it. Would have been a lot more interesting than just a starwars pack.
Dude, bringing back amusement parks similar to Sims 1's? All for it. But do they care? HELL NO.
Not new paintings... it’s just the “paint from reference” option on the easel
I love how this GAME pack has literally no gameplay. So bad!
''Disney wor- oups i mean battu" girl I-
The truth is that they gave us an incomplete game in 2014, and though they've tried to fix some of those things.
Yes, I'm Southern! And thank you! 💙
