Finally somebody who has tools and tool boxes with dirt on them oh, and actually look like they use them
Anyone can put dirt on them and take the white milwaukee paint off to make it look like they were used. I use my power tools alot but when I'm done I clean them up.
Hey Marc, are you insinuating that I dirty my tools up for videos?
@@marcowens3522 You obviously arnt a contractor if you have time to clean your tools after each use. Who has time for that?
I made my own dividers for mine from 1/8" aluminum sheet. I added a piece or rubber edge trim to the wider end, but a bit of tape could work also. They're super stiff and make it a treat to use.
An actual review and it's thoughtful! Good work
“A bit of a bend” 😂you bent the shit out of it, i replayed it a couple times
I find myself always trying to re-organize setups depending on the jobsite.
I started with the backpack and rolling bag, then I got a full rolling box, but now I've gone back to a rolling bag along with the toughbuilt cliptech system.
Feels the best by far in terms of efficiency. So much easier to work with a belt, don't have to go up and down on the ladders.
awesome work as always matt 👌🏼
Cheers legend
Hi Guys!!! I've been using the Packout Compact "Ammo Can" Tool Box to organize my hand tools. It's height and dividers allows the hand tools to be stored vertically making it easier to grab them. I even put my M18 impact driver in there vertically with battery. Also, I just found out that the DeWalt ToughSystem v2.0 deep/slim tool trays fit the Packout small and large Boxes, which is awesome when trying to stack tools on top of each other! Merry Christmas Everybody!!! :-)
Hey Bryan. Thanks for the information. I haven’t actually got one of the ammo can boxes yet(still on the list to buy). Good to hear that they’re working for you. I might have to jump onto that soon.
That interesting to hear about the dewalt trays. I might have to drop in to the shop and have a quick look.
Thanks again, have a great Christmas👍🍻
Cheers mate, great video. Enjoy that beer! I'd highly recommend one or two clear Plano organizers (or similar) for your drill bit kit and driver bits and socket kit. Lots easier to see what you have and pick the right but it without dumping the pouch.
I'd love to see if an m12 fuel bandsaw fits in the drawers and if a full size 4.5"-5" (115-125mm) grinder fits with or without a battery. Thinking about switching out one of my metal fabrication boxes from that medium/large box you have hand tools in over to a 2 drawer unit.
Thanks mate. I might look into some Plano organisers. The pouch is average.
I have the older m12 bandsaw which has a different shape to the new one. I can try that out.
Danke für die Präsentation.
Deine Schnitte und die Kameraführung sind echt mega.
Gruß aus Deutschland👋
Great stuff mate.
Thanks mate. Are you running any packout yourself?
Love your videos lad, unreal
Bought the 2 drawer And the 3 Drawer about 4 months ago. My bottom drawer on the 2 drawer unit rubs to! It's definitely a design flaw of the 2 drawer unit.
good video mate, i love the bag idea, for the guy who cant seem to get rid of his rubbish!!
Cheers mate 👍
You can use a packout for your batteries. I use the full width bigger bits box one but with all the red boxes removed. You fit about 10 - 5ah batteries in there. Just for those days when you need a heap of batteries.
Use the middle narrow section for normal AA AAA batteries.
About the best use of the roller box that I’ve seen is an air compressor mounted inside. If done right with an AC plug on the side or a wire wrap on the back, you’d rarely have to get inside the box. However, my need for a compressor continues to drop over time so it would end up just being dead weight.
Sounds like a good setup. You’re right though, as the need for a compressor is less now with all the end battery tools. 👍
I've experienced the same rubbing on both top and bottom drawers. So far no real problems but only time will tell
Glad it’s not just me. I can’t see it being a large problem.
You could perhaps use one of the drawers for your M12 tools only , the other drawer for laser, misc batteries gpo’s etc, use the large packout on top for your m18 gear and lastly the packout milk crate at the very top for your hand tools, tough bag etc.
Once you get to site you are going to have your hand tools with you always, grab the M12/18 powers tools you need to do the job and the other gear is stored away out of site within your packout system.
Yeah that’s a good setup as well. I probably won’t be taking my crate to site now though. I put it all into my site box so it’s all safe over night and I don’t believe it will all fit.
Exactly what I'm looking for...
I’m glad it helped mate. What sort of work do you do?
@@AddictedtoTools im in the lumber business but I do all my home renovations myself
Milwaukee drill bit boxes tho it doesn’t look like you use them. That’s what I was planning to use one for but haven’t really got a good look at one till now thanks very helpful!
Hey Steffen. I don’t currently have any of those cases but I’m looking to get some in the future. Would be a good setup with those and the drawers👍
Thanks for the videos bud. Question for you. Will the Milwaukee M18 deep cut band saw fit in one of the drawers?
I was considering the packout mounting plate screwed to a tstak trolley, wee bit of cutting to do but I think the tstak trolley and the festool sys roll are the best options for mobility at the minute
I just mounted a STV torpedo rack with 3 catches on a board, then mounted the board to my tstak dolly. So far I'm liking it.
Thanks for the review. And inside dimensions for the drawers. Now I know my socket set in its’ case won’t fit! I’m new to packout and trying to figure out my home DIY mechanic setup and whether Jack stands fit in the large box.
Main question I have for you though. Please could you let me know what music you are using @0:14 & 0:24?
I’ve experienced the same rubbing of the lower drawers when loaded up. I hardly notice it any more and haven’t experienced any issues aside from having to yank those drawers a bit harder.
Nice video, btw. In answer to your question about future videos, I’m less interested in what can or can’t fit in any Packout and more interested in how you end up using them. What organization is most functional and why?
Cheers for the feed back mate. It does seem as though most of the rub on the bottom. I’ll keep everyone updated on the setup. Should get some good use out of it this week. Fingers crossed.
What work are you doing?
Would be a good idea to maybe utilise the draws maybe for conduit gear by any chance or are the slots/sections too big that it would really be a waste?
Great review mate, looking to order one now I’ve seen how many battery tools you can actually fit in a drawer.
Have you done a video of your backyard lawn lights? Have you tied along a catenary wire from the house to the shed? Interested in installing something similar at my house
Na I haven’t actually. Yeah it’s just cat wire from my house roof to the shed roof. Screwed down under the roof sheet screws. If you wanted some photos, email me or contact me on Instagram. I’ll shoot some through. Sales@addictedtotools.com
I use mine for power point and switches they are mint
Do you have any inside knowledge on when in Australia we can expect to see the new multi depth drawers.
Commercial/maintenance electrician here. I tested the trolley in the store and I just cant buy it. So much plastic for the $280 Canadian dollars. I mocked up what I wanted on it to see how it feels to move and it nearly tipped over when moving while also swaying terribly when tipping it back to move. Im really considering buying the regular packout base and modding the shit out of it to make it actually not dead space that I cant access unless I take everything off it. Not sure what id do just yet but if not modding that Id probably make something out of a more robust trolley and mount a packout stand to it so the drawers could clip in at the bottom. Idk they really should of released a drawer base with wheels because im not gonna pay the premium unless Im getting the premium results when used.
I’m going through this in my van for a year and still changing.
Forever changing 👍😂
“A bit of a bend” he folded that thing 🤣 also, mine came with dividers for all the drawers. Milwaukee might have fixed that or I just got lucky
I want to see which power tools fit in the smaller drawers...the one with 3 drawers.
Yo he comprado una igual y roza igual por debajo, voy a intentar que me la cambien por otra a ver si no lo hace.
Greatest tools ever. You should clean them they look pretty nasty. Unless it’s only me that likes to keep them spotless. Lol
Yeah. A simple non-corrosive/reactive wipe down and throwing a few large silica gel dessicant packs in each drawer would be great.
Silica Gel Desiccants
I think people forget that Packout is made out of plastic. & we all should take that into consideration when forming our expectations for durability.
This gentleman prefers chaos! Not sure how one gets anything done with packouts and tools looking like this!
Whys that Davey?
@15:04 Hello fellow sparky from the USA. I tried to find the graphite pads online but couldn’t. Any chance you could link us to them? I appreciate the “bill in a china shop” approach of your video showing the packout. Be roughish on the stuff like would happen when actually putting in work.
Hey mate here’s a link. amzn.to/3PC9E8Y
I’m definitely rough with the gear. I expect it to last. Which is has 👍
hey mate, love your stuff!, where'd you get that plate for the front of your rolling tool box?
Packibletools.com
I did a video awhile ago on it. Called Milwaukee packout essential add on
The 3 drawer is a better choice, i have 3 of both 2 and 3 drawers.
Hey mate i noticed the van vault drawer in the background can you let me know what you think? They are special order only in from Bunnings from where I am and isn’t too much about it on UA-cam outside the company’s own video so would like some feedback before committing to buying a couple for a van set up after a couple break ins on Ute tool boxes the last couple years
That’s a great idea mate. Totally forgot about it. I originally had it in my old van but it’s now just a temp timber draw. I also got it from Bunnings. Are there any main things you wanted to see about it?
Quality, what fits ( like does a rotary hammer drill fit ? Can you fit tools that come boxed like a cordless drill etc, what you had in yours earlier, can it take weight on top, is locking mechanism cheap , how many keys ( can you get spare keys cut ), does everything rattle in the metal drawers and noise or did u put rubber on bottom etc is the size large enough, is it hard to open/close with weight or drop if you pull it right out when under weight. Did you actually lock it inside your van on top of locking the van ?
After couple breakins starting To get paranoid with Ute when parking so thinking changing to van and want it all hidden.
The hassles of it all like reporting it and doing all the phone calls and paperwork , paying insurance excesses , being without tools whilst waiting for insurance to come through and not making money , getting all the tools again. It’s all a big balls up so need to make changes to avoid it the best I can in the future
what are those graphite pads? Ive never seen them, I looked for a website but cant find anything
Www.graphiteindustries.com.Au they are working mats for both putting your tools and ladders on, as to protect table tops and also good for kneeling on when working in certain scenarios. I’ve been using them for a bit and loving them.
i have two sets of the drawers and both rub in the middle on the bottom drawer, even with very limited load
Damn. I guess it’s not just mine. Thanks for letting me know lachlan
@@AddictedtoTools have a close look with no load. It looks like the bottom drawer has a bow. Apart from that, I love the drawers. Just don't overload them.
Organisation becomes an obsession.
Very tempting, but I think I'll wait for the next model with upgraded dual sliders. Cheers for the vid bud
When is that coming?
I looked up the drawer dividers. For $3 you can buy the STL file and 3D print them. You're probably going to have to find somebody with a 3D printer. I've got a couple of them.
I only see videos with Milwaukee packouts. Anyone know of a UA-cam video about the other brands?
Canada here: Don't buy them unless you cannot live without them. And then, think about it. You can create dividers with a tablesaw or bandsaw very easily to suit your needs using inexpensive material from your local lumber market.
Your one idea, your second idea, your third I like now on how one PACKOUT 22 in. Rolling Tool Box, Needs to be just one drawer,
Can a custom made divider go lengthways?
Definitely could. I could see that being handy for certain scenarios. Maybe some metal dividers would be the go for more stability. I’m wondering if anyone makes 3D printed dividers.
How many flicky wicky willy donkers fit into one drawer
All of my bottom drawers rub. One of the first things I noticed. They sag just a tad, hitting the bottom bezel, with anything over 2 lbs or so..The top drawers do not because there is nothing to rub. The way they constructed the bottom for that locking bar plays a part. Not a deal breaker, but for price, I'd like to not see that.
Batteries and tools in sealed container!
Have seen dividers listed for $30aud still for the price we pay surely they could throw in a second set..
Oh true. Do you know what store has them? It’s very strange on Milwaukee’s part.
@@AddictedtoTools I saw them a while ago on the Sydney tools site. Just had another look, Looks like they have taken them down like they did with the three drawer units..
Ahh ok. That makes sense. They must be getting them in the next shipment. Cheers for the information 👍
What are those pads i cant find anything on google. Cant see the full name
graphiteindustries.com.au/graphite-eco/
They are a work mat that protects surfaces and can be used to protect your knees when kneeling
@@AddictedtoTools Should set up an affiliate page, mate :)
What are the inside measurements of the drawers
Height 132mm, Width 410mm, Length 325mm 👍
The drawers catch as soon as you put any weight in it
I'm disappointed that Milwaukee didnt bring the 3 drawer packout at the same time !
Very disappointing. I believe they didn’t bring a light 2 drawer stock either. Fingers crossed we get them soon. By the looks, they will be around by feb-March. Have you got any of the 2 drawers yet?
Yeah mate . I couldn't help myself . I'm picked mine up last week . Still need to organise it . I think mine will just stay in my Ute for ratchet straps and random screw packets.
I'll be definitely picking up the 3 drawer when it comes out!
Bro your wife’s probably confused when she sees all those boxes 😂😂😂I’m sure you tell her it’s a necessity to
😂😂 definitely necessary
You look like Tom Hanks
How big is your shed.
3m x 3m
FFS Australia has red packout aswel we only have black version which doesn't look as good don't know why it's black when Milwaukee is always red I'm extremely jealous 🤣
Bulky system. Expensive. $$
2 drawer vs 3 drawer?
3 drawers have just started to be put on shelf this week. I’m picking up mine hopefully in the next few days.
Wholesale price of all types of wheels trolley wheels |Solid wheels |caster PU wheels |rubber wheels
Insane price tag
Sure is
I'd rather get no dividers at all and you pay extra if you want them. But that's just me
You lost me at the drill bit storage bag.
Whys that? What do you do with all your old random bits?
I hope the employee at Miwaukee that decided to put a box on the bottom instead of drawers was fired. That was such a stupid decision.
Lol, I like how each packout box basically costs what an entire US general roll cart costs. And then they go and put one set of dividers, and can't make them out of decent materials.
I hate when companies have a good system going, and then make their products out of garbage...
9 month use review?!?
I’ve been thinking about doing some update reviews. Cheers for the reminder mate 👍
@@AddictedtoTools totally interested to hear what you've got to say. I'm still holding out on buying some drawers. But i get tax return in a fortnight
I didn’t know they were only for electricians
Bro I hope you don’t work like how you pack your tools😢😂
Whys that mate?
This system is shit and over-priced compared to Rigid's.
As far as getting your box exactly the way you want, be prepared to do custom modifications, or else keep complaining.
Hey mate. Why do you say it’s shit?
