Using Milwaukee Packout's for my ULTIMATE Camp Kitchen

  • In this video I show you how I use the Milwaukee Packout system to organize my camp kitchen and create a perfectly organized camp kitchen setup. For years I dug around in bins before coming up with this solution. It's super convenient to have a portable drawer setup that's also modular. You can buy any of the packout options that work for your gear and snap them all together to fit your needs. Whether it's an overnight camp trip or a full Overlanding trip this setup is with me. Let me know what you think!

A well earned subscribe. This idea is not new to me but it is so nice to see someone doing a vid on it and promoting it. I am so sick of all these sponsored clowns pimping $2k slide outs, $1,500 dual zone fridges, air conditioned tents and good GAWD that $300 DMOS shovel (it's a shovel!!!).
Camping need not be all Spartan rehydrated freeze dried chicken and Ranger pudding, but there's a happy medium. We've gotten to the point where people are basically jamming all their suburban creature comforts into the backs of their rigs and calling it "primitive camping" just because they have to take a dump in the woods now and then.....unless of course you buy the Laveo for $1k. Just buy a doggone Airstream and be done with it already. Rant over who wants a bourbon?

Great idea using the Milwaukee setup!! You've given me a few ideas for my rig... One thing I use for cleaning the dishes are 2 pressure pump watering spray bottles (garden sprayers) - one for soapy water and other other for rinsing. So instead of taking the kitchen sink with you, this is the next best thing and it cheap too!

I was using the packout products for gear as well. Also used a professional makeup organizer box which had drawers. Was nice to be able to move that to a table and leave it outside over night. My current set up in my 4runner has everything in drawers which I like, but I find that I'm constantly going back and forth to grab items for cooking. I think I need to figure out the in-between. modular boxes that fit into the drawers but can still be left out overnight in the elements. My favorite camp kitchen though is just a ribeye over the fire, a cutting board, and a knife. Cheers!

Great idea with the packout, the only thing I would add or recommend is ANYTHING liquid should go in a baggie so it doesn't end up on everything else, as a secondary precaution, I would tape the tops. If you have ever shipped anything liquid I'm sure you have your own horror stories. Great video.

Someone on Amazon offers a flip up table top that mounts to the side of the draw packout. The 3D printed mounting hardware and support arms look good quality but the woodtop doesn't feel like real wood more like fax wood, likely replace it with UHMW for better cutting and cleaning. Arms are to long for my current packout boxes, need to get the drawers as well for my camping setup. I set one of the clear top packout as my first aid kit, used to be an EMT, like being prepared for accidents. Best of luck to you camping. 👍

I’m also super OCD and drawers, organizers, etc. are an absolute must. I had started with a toolbox setup, but ultimately built my own wooden chuck box as I found the sidewalls and corner structure take up a lot of space. I have a smaller SUV, trying to build it out to camp in it, so literally every inch matters. So I built the wooden box, totally straight walls, and then got those clear iDesign bins as drawers. They’re super light, thin, and have handles for pull out, on which I added labels on what’s in each drawer. Looking to expand that for a 3-week road trip this summer. Another thing I find important is the colour of whatever system one goes with. Stuff seems difficult to find in black bins. Lighter colours give good contrast to find things as it’s getting dark or things are being put away for the night without always needung a light.

I've got tons of plastic and some metal Craftsman toolboxes i bought at huge discounts all the time as i worked there as an auto tech/mechanic and would always see the sales and got extra employee discounts.
Im not talking about my big toolboxes (but those, too), but handheld ones.
Anywhere from 14"- 26" and one hvy duty metal one with a single hinged reinforced handle, which i kept like 100 lbs of small tools in, like sockets, ratchets, whatever. Large top opening plus it had 5 slide out drawers, and it locked.
Also, I have lots of big, heavy-duty plastic O- ring sealed shooting boxes with big capacities in volume, with swing handles that hold A LOT of weight- made for storing lots and lots of ammo, along with shooting & cleaning tools.
Those seem like they would work - if you rebooght all thise now - if you could find the same quality - it would prob run you well over 1000$

Your video popped up in our feed. It's so cool to see I'm not alone. I built my full interior around the Milwaukee 2 drawer slide. That's how much I believe in the products. We, too, struggle for years with this tote that tote....and so on. I'm sure you may have suffered from the same issues forgetting that you don't actually now have to worry about moving stuff to get to stuff. Yes you actually can set something on top since you don't open the lid 😅. Man, that took a little time to retrain my brain.
While for some, the PACKOUT might seem like a lot of money. Not until you price out some of those overland drawer slides named after a bird. Just add a zero behind the price of the 2 drawer slides.
I actually use the large boxs on my roof for all my recovery gear and shower stuff. 100% waterproof. Of course, it's not rated to be put on the roof of a moving truck. Shhhhh.....

My buddy Brain from Toyota Overlanders runs a Taco with a older GFC saw my set up and went with Dewalt Tough Systems for his camp kitchen. Based on size and color for his logos. Sits right behind his passenger set. He also did a add on stackable. Plus he picked up some extra 3d printed plates on Etsy. The Milwakkee can also be found. Great if you want to do any custom set ups.
If you look at our shorts you see a video that says How We Cook In Our GFC Camper. This is my current setup built around PackOut 2 drawer system.
