@@ThePaintPaperHustle i done it so i got some movement to help with the dzues tabs. I actually thought they were to wide after i done it but like u said once its painted u wont notice it
Love the videos of the comet and all the other builds you are associated with. I just have a quick question on the subject of hood fitment. I have a fiberglass hood that bolts to the hinges of a 64 fairlane. With the hood down, the middle of the back side of the hood droops down, instead of sitting level with the cowl panel. Any suggestions on a fix for that or any ideas. Appreciate any advise
Yes we added some to Randy’s car to fix this at cowl. Basically same thing we did to this car with the small dzus brackets attached to firewall cowl area. Just put a small 90degree bracket in the center so it helps hold the hood up
Ive got a question.... If you cut off that rolled over lip that comes down on the sides, doesnt that cause you to lose alot of the rigidity and strength? Theway they did my hood they were able to leave the lip thathung down, but after buying new dzus fastners Im going to have to change it. Ive also got to trim it back at the windshield because its a street car and I wanna have wipers on it in case I get caught out in the rain. I was just curious if its still ok to cut that lip off
This video is pretty old and unfortunately I don’t remember what lip you’re talking about. The way I did it though we haven’t ever had any issues out of
you made me feel alot better abouthow i fit my hood gaps cause i cut mine wider than most people do. about 1/4" gap on the sides of my hood
Yours won’t be chipped when others will be 😉

Awesome video, Thanks. Do you know who makes that hood?
I can’t remember. I feel like I mentioned it in one of the videos bc there was a sticker on the bottom but I can’t remember which one.
