@@tianjay I'm trying to have a short delay for most of a song and then a long delay when i need it with trails. Flock of Seagulls song I Ran for a cover band
Hi! Wondering if you can help me with a specific question - Once I knew how to do this and I have forgotten - On my GT 10, I was at one point able to assign the number pedals ( the patch selection pedals 1 - 4) so that in addition to selecting a particular patch with one press, if I stepped on the same pedal again, it could toggle between channel A and Channel B on the patch - For the life of me I can't remember how I did that - Can you help me out?
Hey Mate, sure, it’s in the Play Option Menu.. i talk about it at around the 4:00 minute mark in this video -> ua-cam.com/video/JtXt2jE4vXw/v-deo.htmlsi=FJ9W-MG-qoGQC212
@@tianjay Thanks so much brother! I was actually able to figure it out ! I still love this old multi fx - They really built it right and it still sounds great after all these years!
It's best used with the Expression Switch however for CTL2, just dial up Wah On/Off as the parameter and change Source to CTL2 and Source Mode to Toggle
I think that in order to assign anything to exp pedal you need to first deactivate the fv/wah of the exp pedal in the pedal menu, otherwise assignments wont work.
sir! it's true boss gt8 and gt10 cut off guitar tone? you use a great guitar but tone guitar not come out from this boss gt8 and gt10.. they sound to digital, not analog like boss gt6.. gt 6 great because your guitar tone body release out.. so how we can make guitar body tone out from this gt8/10? and how about gt100 and gt1000?
I don't have any hands on experience with the GT100 or GT1000 however for a low to mid range FX and Preamp solution, you get a lot for your money with any of these units and can sound great but they're never going to sound as good as a Helix, AxeFX, Kemper or Quad Cortex. I haven't used one in years but my experience back when I did was that most of your audience wouldn't know the difference... I guess it depends what's most important to you. If pristine tone is most important, then you're going to have to spend more money, it's that simple.
I agree with Simon Vaillancourt's comment about your video demo. I need to watch it a couple of more times, but I understood 95% of your explanations. And I also want to actually recreate your examples on my pedal to grasp the concepts better. I hope you plan to do more videos on the GT-10, especially concerning assignments with FX's. I was able to duplicate a couple of your examples, but I still feel ignorant of fully understanding assignments, and I have not been able to find an answer in the manual or any other documentation that I have read. I have a question that I hope you can answer? When making assignments, can Targets use the same multiple real time and virtual Source controller? Example; Say on page one you want to add compression to a Patch using the CTL1 control pedal. Can page two be programmed to use the same CTL1 for an additional assignment for enhancing something else like Delay, Reverb, Pan, etc. And so on... page three up to page eight? Or can only one source be used and not doubled up on other Targets? What are the limitations when making assignments, even when using virtual controllers like the Internal or Wave pedal setting?
Not sure if this answers your question but a single source can be assigned to multiple parameters, so for example, you may want to turn on Comp, Delay and Reverb and increase gain, change EQ all in a single stomp...
@TianJay, Great vid, thanks for posting. I have a specific setting I'm trying to do. I have the delay programmed to change the time while using the expression pedal. I have the feedback set at almost 100 and effect the effect level pretty high too, it works but the sound fades out as I push the pedal down (to toe). I want the sound to hold sound more, do you know how I can do that?
I'm not sure if you can help, but I have a very specific issue with my GT-10. I am using a Marshall DSL40CR, I'm trying to use the Amp Control to switch channels on the amp, while also using the fx loop to use effects like Reverb, Chorus, Delays, etcs. Whenever I have this setup, the fx loop toggle on my amp becomes disabled, when I remove the amp control the fx Loop can be used again. Is there an option I missing on the GT-10 to toggle the fx loop switch coming from the amp itself?
@@Hyde1415 because the tone sucks. all of them. it does not sound nearly as good as their individual pedals. i am very disappointed in mine. i bought mine new about 5 yrs ago. i was never happy with my tone. i blamed it on my amp. but i was wrong. i now use individual stomp boxes on a pedal board. some of which are BOSS. they make good stuff. but they have a few that are not that good, or at least. not as good as you were lead to believe or expect them to be. so for me... the GT-10 was a $500 mistake... THAT'S WHY.
@@johnjames-hq3ye Yeah I don't think it's worth 500 now because it is old tech, I bought it for 260. I will say the features I wanted were solved with MIDI and the 4 cable method. It's a pretty versatile machine and I'm able to get some decent tones now. The distortion tones are definitely not as good as going straight in my Marshall, but being able to control channel switching on my amp and being able to set up different tones and control multiple effects just in one press of a button is pretty cool. I was definitely in your boat at first, but now I can appreciate the pedal more now that I understand how it works.
what an insightful detailed explanation, i learned more from this than from boss manual

Hi, it doesn't. For the purposes of the video there is a camera above the GT10 filming the screen.
