  • The 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is one of the most capable vehicles you can buy. In this review Ryan Douthit takes a look at all the off-road features, demonstrates how they work in various conditions and a lot more. These same features are available on all 2018, 2019 and 2020 Tacoma TRD PRO models.

      I think it's on par with the Ranger... I think the Ranger has better interior seating and a better crawl system.. but when it comes to resale and dependability.. the Tacoma wins hands down.

    I own a 4runner and love it with all my heart but man I really love the tacoma trd pro. It’s just the sexiest most badass design to my eyes and the perfect size for a midsize, also voodoo blue is hands down my favorite special pro color ever. Looks amazing on the tundra 4runner and tacoma.

      You must understand, every year prices on everything goes up to include renting apartments, Case in point, NYC 1 bed in the Bronx will cost @ $1000 dollars, grocery bills go up, automotive price up, so why just pay the extra and have a reliable truck at your disposal, I am waiting for the 2020 Tacoma and will purchase a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport 4X4.

    I find it peculiar that you can't take this taco through a car wash while it wears the snorkel addon but it's ok to plow through dirty water while out dicking around in the sticks or at the beach. I'm wondering if a better solution might be just installing an aftermarket air breather of the type that rides under the hood in a position that sucks up "Cooler" air from the side of the truck?

    Although it's not a standard test in your off-road videos, I'm curious to see a list of vehicles that have made it up that rutted hill climb. Off the top of my head:
    The Obvious: Tacoma TRD Pro, 4Runner Off-Road (not sure if that was same hill), Jeep Gladiator, New G-Wagon
    The Surprises: 2019 Honda Passport,
    Anything else attempt it?

      @@drivingsports Got it. It's a fun test. Would love to see how Subaru and some other "soft roaders" and AWD systems handle it. It's cool how i-vtm4 designed for handling on-road has translated quite well to off-roading. I also wonder how a stock 4Runner Sr5 would do (not the offroad edition)? No locking dif, but ATRAC. Also - nicely filmed reviews all around, appreciate the effort that goes into getting a variety of cool vehicle shots.

    Interesting how most reviewers only put the truck in sand. Makes me wonder why. Does Crawl Control work poorly in mud or something? No, it's what Toyota told them to do. These reviewers do not talk to the viewers, they present nothing more than an ad for the vehicle. And then they want you to subscribe for more of their regurgitation of Toyota's demands on these reviewers. I'm in the market for a new truck. I have found that almost everyone of these reviewers just say the same thing. One reviewer had his 4 Runner stuck. When he tried to get it unstuck, he tried straight, nothing. He tried left and nothing. Then he turned it right, it started to come out of that situation, but he immediately turned it the left and it began to fail again. He then stated the truck does have it's limitations. So, all I really know is the truck's accouterments and some off road. But the offroad seems to be the same in all reviews. Another thing that pisses me off is the fact every reviewer likes the new army green color. Not one has said they didn't like the new color. Really? I hate that color.

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  4 роки тому +1

      We use sand because that’s what’s safely available to demonstrate the feature. At least where we live, mud can be very tricky and the chances of getting stranded or damaging the vehicle are much higher.
