      I did it eventually. I had it on order but didn’t have another car to use until it came in, so I worked with what I had. It’s got a brand new pan on it now :)

    Whats your oil pressures now after doing gallery gaskets? A 350z HR that I have idles fully warmed up what seems to to be 20psi. The needle is a little over half way 0 and 30psi marks. I read somewhere around 30psi is normal idle so mine may be on their way out not sure. Upon accelaration its fine goes all the way to 120 psi past 5k+. This videos are helpful despite you saying their not how to's LOL. It almost seems like all this Z's have this issues past 100000 miles.

      If the pressure is under 15 psi at a warm idle, that’s when you should replace the gaskets. I’m in the neighborhood of 30 psi at a warm idle with a 5w-40 oil. From what I’ve been told, you’re correct about the gaskets and the mileage, but some people have theirs go out even earlier, but that’s only if the car sits or is abused.

      Thanks my man! I’m out in Southern Cali. In the San Bernardino County area :)
      As for the experience, it’s just been trial and error for me. Luckily we have 12 cars, so I get all the experience I need working on them

    Hi!
    Stupid question but how do you turn off the fuel pump?

    • @iraj9884
      @iraj9884  3 роки тому

      Hi!
      Definitely not a stupid question, but it’s completely unnecessary for this DIY. I just have a kill switch hooked up to the fuel pump relay that’s under the dash. There is also fuse behind the battery that you can pull to turn off the power to the fuel pump. This isn’t the fuse box that’s in front of the battery though. You’d have to remove the battery cover and the cowl around it to get the box off of this fuse panel. Once you pull the pin, check to see if you got the right one by turning the key to the ‘on’ position and listening for the fuel pump priming. It sounds like a hum behind the passenger seat 🙂
      Here is a link to the forum that I used to figure out which fuse is for the pump :) Cheers!

      @@iraj9884 do you think it is an indispensable procedure?
      Or could we even do without it?

    • @iraj9884
      @iraj9884  3 роки тому +1

      @@multiverso93 You could most definitely do this without turning off the fuel pump. I just feel like it is better to do this way so you can get the oil circulating before starting the engine. There are many people and shops who do not do it this way, however, be weary of starving your motor of oil for the first few seconds after the first start.

      @@iraj9884 I understand ... it is definitely a precaution that can only do him good. Since you have the same engine as mine, may I ask if you remember approximately how much distance there is between the Pickup and the oil pan?

    • @iraj9884
      @iraj9884  3 роки тому +1

      @@multiverso93 I would guess that it’s about an inch? It’s kind of hard to tell when the pan is off the car but somewhere in the half inch to inch range would be my guess
