To be fair, it is both. I’ve seen how much denial people will have when having a heart attack. The denial is the dumb part. It’s ok to ask for help, even if it’s nothing serious. As an EMT, I’d rather arrive to a patient who thinks they are having a heart attack when it isn’t one rather than arrive to someone who is now on the ground in asystole because they were in denial. I’ve only seen someone have a return of circulation once, all others have been either DOA or declared deceased after 40 minutes of resuscitation efforts. For anyone reading this, just call EMS if there is even a hint that you could be having a heart attack. No matter how mild you think the symptoms are. It goes from 0 to 100 faster than you know. I’d rather show up to find out it’s just anxiety than to have not been called until it’s too late. Your friends and loved ones would agree. It’s ok to not be ok. Please, make the call. It doesn’t cost you anything for us to show up and evaluate you. We are here for you, in any moment.
@@ShimrraJamaane yes, rather calling to fast and find out that it was nothing live threatening then calling to late. This denial, or the fear of calling the EMS because of nothing is the worst you can do and because of that allot of people die wich could have been saved if they just called for help. It is more prevelant in the older generation and more likely in men because the where raised that way like "you don't need to see the doctor for everything" "be a men and wait for it to go away" or whatever. But this is even in older woman so yeah. Random chestpain should always be checked and if it is not extremly strong you should atleast ask a relative to drive you to a clinic because it can be a warning sign of a comming hear attack or it can be a light one, wich is also dangerous if not treadet-
this brought me to tears. NW is my favorite.....I haven't really watch the past 2 seasonS, but SIg Hansen is a legend and always will be. SIg, edgar, and tommy
"I have your heart attack on my computer, wanna see it?" As far as normally batshit sentences go, that one's gotta be right up there with the greats 😂😂😂
Sean didn’t hit with me really when I first was introduced to him. But as time went on he’s shown his capability, wisdom and loyalty. A strong captain 🤟🏻
I have never seen a better tv show in all my 57 yrs. Thank you. Im sad that i cant buy dvd's after season 12. I wanted to share this show with my grandkids when they are older.
Out of all, I love Sig the most, great video. I just hope he is ok. You can take the man out of fishing but you can never take fishing out of the man. Legend.
I lost my beautiful momma to lung cancer on 11/11/2011. Just days after she passed, I found out I was pregnant with my son. She isn't here to watch my daughter grow up. She isn't here to watch my son grow up, never even knew that he was even coming. Sig has family to think of. I can't even tell you how much it hurts to know that my momma is gone, because she couldn't stop smoking cancer sticks. Please Sig, stop.
This is kind of emotional for me. I literally just lost my brother to, what we assume, was a heart attack brought on from bad health, potential lifestyle choices. Rip bro!
Nice seeing good old Northwestern out of the water and finally getting her bent bow pounded back into shape. And with the new equipment she's received in her refit, she's going to come back stronger than ever! Those crab better watch out, cause NW and her crew will be coming hard to punch their tickets real soon.
Maaaan.. Sean is years wiser then is real age. Your dad must have been a hell of a man to instill so much knowledge into your life. Health is wealth... couldn't be more true. Life is way to short
I don’t want to take anything away from Sean’s dad because I’m sure you’re right, but going through something like losing a father at a young age makes or breaks a lot of men. I think Sean took that experience and matured from it. He’s wise beyond his years because he experienced so much before he was supposed to. It’s a tragically beautiful thing
If he’s learnt anything from these cardiac events, then that’s a bonus. You know somethings wrong but you think it will go away or stop in a minute. It doesn’t. I wish you better health Sig.
Yeah there is no good place to ever have a heart attack or any other serious medical issue. Being on a boat way the hell away from anywhere would be bad.
Realist thing I've seen in a long time. Sig is one of my favorite dudes to watch on deadliest catch. Probably the only reason why I watch the show. There was an older gent that had a son and a boat on the show. But the older gent died. I forgot what his name was but he was a damn good captain. So is sig
Sig's heart attack that was the worst day ever. It is always scary when someone goes into cardiac arrest and has a heart attack. Sig needs to take care of himself. We lost Captain Phil to a stroke and he died of a hemorrhage we don't want to lose Sig the same way.
I had my 1st heart attack at 35. I was actually in hospital and had to.check.out ama.and go back through er for them to figure it put that I was entering heart failure. I was in for intractable vomiting... Women's heart attack symptoms are very different and deadly because doctors put it to something else
Get a vape if can’t quit cigarettes , I had a massive heart attack 2.5 years ago cause of cigarettes , cardiologist said I was in the 11 percent who live the other 89 died , if u go to the vape use it to quit completely and I can tell you it worked for me
Sig, thank you for doing this video & for admitting that you being in denial could've killed you. I expect a lot of wives will be showing it to their husbands. I pray you're doing much better now. I'm also praying you quit smoking. If you can ride those Bering Sea waves like Tuff Hedeman on that bad-ass bull Bodacious, you can do this too! Reward yourself when you hit milestones: perhaps at 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, for example. But however you determine the frequency and the prize, it might be a good incentive to help you get through the beginning stages. After that it gets much easier. I quit 21 years ago because I couldn't even take 2 puffs without it making my arrhythmia start acting up. It definitely affects your heart, whether you can feel it or not. Stick around for your family, Sir. Being a grandpa is awesome! And so is retirement, aka playtime.🙂🙏🏼
Sig is just like other stubborn hard drivng Captain. Their priority is money and quota. They have lots of self induced stress, no exercise, eating garbage, smoking and drinking, Sig should retire and take care his health.
Take Care dear Sig❤ i quit smoking three month ago and thewing nicotine gum… that worked out after 35 yrs of hardcore smoking🤜🏻💥🤛🏻 You Can do this as Well ❤️🗣️💨💨
"Be around to see your legacy, because you have one" is the most heart wrenching compliment you could ever hope to achieve, put so nicely
It's like he was speaking to his own father too, not only Sig. Sean is a mans man
“ be around to see your legacy pay off, cause you have one!” Most heart breaking yet biggest compliment ever.
Poor Sig. He was scared, not dumb. Being scared and in pain inhibits one's ability to think clearly.

When you are having a heart attack you aren't ever thinking straight because your heart pumps oxygen to your brain.
I thought the brain pumped it's own oxygen 😮

My dad passed way of a heart attack back in 2011 he was only 48. He smoked a lot and tried to quite many times.
This is Sig's intervention.

Health is Wealth

I'm so sorry, S. Death sucks. 😪💔🙏🏼
So very sorry for your loss. 🙏🏻♥️
"That's just stupid!" If you ever wanted to know what character growth looks like.
I aspire to be as successful as Sig Hansen someday.. I aspire to be as strong of a man as Sig one day.. Truly a remarkable man
Take care of yourself old man and I wish you all the very best.

Eye opener, Even if you don't have a great legacy, people will still miss you, time to go get it.

Sig being scared clouded your judgment
Love how he spit into his hand then rubs it on his pants 😅 man gives zero F**** 😊
Same lmao that killed me. At the same time tho the other parts of the video made me sad, hope he quits smoking 🚬
My mom died from ALS. it's the worst thing to see them change almost daily. It just sucks.
My mom passed from cancer. Shit fucking sucks. I'm sorry.

The Scottish narrator here is Mr. Andrew Cotter, famous on UA-cam as the pet dad of Olive & Mabel, his two Labrador Retrievers. ❤❤❤
Did I hear the Captain apologize? Seattle here 😉♥️
Hopefully he doesn’t end up like Phil
That’s my biggest fear

Phil Harris. He had more than one son. His youngest struggles with addiction. I hope the Harris boys are healthy and well now.

He probably had several smaller heart attacks like the one in 05. He is just stubborn and a workaholic.

How many heart attacks as he had ?
Which episode was thati n 2005/06 season?
I lost an aunt to A.L.S in 2014. It sucks.
I lost my Great Aunt to MS this month.
Don’t that just you in the crawdads. The younger calling out the older to pay attention. You can really see that hit Sid really hard.

Exactly. Wild Bill is twice as big as Sig. But Bill ain’t having heart attacks at sea. Because Bill doesn’t smoke 2 packs a day.
