good thing Sig did because he and Jake and every other captain knows what can happen if a boat catches fire. Fires sank the Raven and the Western Venture and no one wants a fire on their boat if that fire gets to the insulation the boat can go down.

I have had 3 seizures in my life and I can say from experience that it they were the most terrifying moments in my life. You go from being being fully conscious and aware of your surroundings to the moment whenever you start coming out of the seizure not knowing what happened. I remember all three of mine I was doing something before they occurred and then I remember waking up in the back of the ambulance. I have no memory of anything that happened in between. I thank the good lord that I was surrounded by family all three times and I was laying down on either my bed or the floor, or in the case of my second one, my dentists chair. Like exactly what happened here, you can go from standing up to falling immediately and you can have a serious head injury from the fall. Glad he came out of it ok.

ShurtuGal90 I literally have a lifetime of experience with epilepsy and seizures. I’ve read more scans and spoken with more neurologists and neurosurgeons that most people see in their lifetime. You can look at the scans of kids who have febrile seizures and notice changes, people who faint and have what look like seizures are not actually seizures. Those are hypoxia spasms which do cause brain damage, but from lack of oxygen. Epileptic seizures can cause people to quit breathing which can make them hypoxic, which again causes loss of oxygen to the brain, which can cause brain damage.

@@tabithawallen7716 As someone who suffers from seizures and understands my epilepsy and epilepsy in general, it is very few cases where people suffer brain damage from seizures. Often most people do not stop breathing during a seizure, what people mistake as people "turning blue" is just the intense muscle strain being applied to the whole body.

Stan Dalone maybe for YOUR seizures, but my mother stops breathing 75% of the time while my husband does not. I’ve been CPR certified since I was 9 to help take care of her. She was diagnosed while I was still in school with brain damage from her epilepsy (which by that time was over 20 years worth of seizures, occurring almost daily).
My husband is part of the 1% of people in the world who (1) have auras (2) do not lose consciousness (3) are fully aware during seizures and (4) have no lingering effects aside from aphasia for 15 minutes after each.

My dog started having seizures when he was 5, out of nowhere, and completely out of the blue with no warning beforehand. Of course I'm not saying this is equal to the fear and heartache it made me feel with my dog cause he's human obviously, it's just me trying to relate and it broke my heart, and even moreso watching this because I can't even imagine how that must've felt for those guys, especially his wife, and Sig, that sound to was just heartbreaking. :/

Damn this must've been what it looked like when I had my first seizure. It hit him for sure at the top of the stairs causing him to slip and fall then it just goes all out. For anyone who reads this best thing to do is what they did, make sure they are able to breathe keep their mouth clear, keep them flat, also if possible try to record how long their seizure was and relay that info to the paramedics. Watch out for a possible second one to come after as well

There's nothing the paramedics or doctors can do. I have seizures occasionally and everyone knows not to call an ambulance because once I get to the hospital I just leave immediately anyway and it's just a big waste of time. Your pretty much out of it mentally the rest of the day so all you can do is just try to sleep the rest of the day.
