Great demo of your ideas, the penta with the major 6 is great one which I heard Robben Ford play and explain, hear the sound by many players like B.B. king too. Thanks for your great work here.
What a joy to discover, among all the crazy, over-the-top videos online, a tutorial presentation so informative and tastefully done. Liked & subscribed. Thank you.
Hello Love this, and the sound on your guitar. What are your amp. Settings and you have the neck setting on your guitar, with that geing said what are the settings on the guitar also, tone etc.. Thank you!
Thank you very much. I used the neck pickups with the controls all the way up. The amp is my Universal Audio Dream 65, which is basically a digital version of a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I also have the real amp, the settings I prefer is treble on 5, bass on 3 and just a hint of reverb. So nothing too fancy
Thanks for this Markus. Can you help me with this question? Have bought my first hollow guitar (Ibanez AF75G). Despite being on my third set of strings I don't like the fact that the acoustic sound is too loud which irritates/distracts me. Any suggestions how I can dampen the acoustics?
that's a nice guitar. Of course a hollow body is louder than a solid body. When you play at home you will hear both, the amplified and acoustic signal. Some people dampen their hollow bodies with foam or something similar. This is easy to do, reversible, and also avoids feedback. You just want to avoid damaging the electronics inside. I like to play my hollowbody acoustically at home.
@@markusbakmusic Thanks for the quick reply, Markus. I'm glad you asked, because I never can seem to find a good sound on an amp. I'm very uncomfortable playing plugged in, so really need some pointers. The amplified sound always makes me feel very self-conscious, and I just can't play right when plugged in. I have a Vox Valvetronix AD30VT, a Peavey Envoy 110, and a Spark 40.
So, are you an acoustic player? Playing with an amp may something you are not used to. To me, an amp is necassary to be heard at all when playing with other musicians. I hate playing amplified in my flat. Do you play with other musicians?
@@markusbakmusic Right. I've always played acoustic. But lately I've been playing a strat, because fingering is so much easier than an acoustic, but almost always unplugged in order to keep it quiet. Didn't know it would be so difficult when plugged in... I have acquired a few amps thinking I would figure it out, but keep getting stumped! It just sounds and feels awkward, but I really want to get that jazz sound. I have not found any other people to play with, though that sounds like it could be fun and productive.
Beautiful, Thanks so much for this!!!
That was just what I have been looking for….as a blues/rock player for 40+ years.Well done…simple and effective.thank you.

The 6 instead of b7 is really a great tip to have a jazz vibe, I use it a lot now 😄 Before I was to much mixing or simply switching major / minor

beautiful casino. what is the top wood?
it's supposed to be maple, bit I don't know exactly
I share your perspective when it comes to the major pentatonic scale. Just add the major 3rd, 6th and 9th to the minor pentatonic!
❤☕
Mixing major and minor ?
Yes, in a sense
I sure would like to know how to get that sound from my amp.
