Yes, great stuff! I knew they were doing something like this, but they usually go so fast I didn't know exactly what they were doing. I tried approximating with notes I thought I was hearing, but I didn't figure out the part with the 1/8th & 1/16th notes, making it switch beats when repeated. Thanks for breaking it down! I've never heard it described this way, now I know EXACTLY what to do! And, how to make it my own. 'Scribed & 👍! 👍👍👍 🤪

I ask myself "Why haven't I seen this in any lessons b4?" It kinda torks me off, ya know? Excellent Lesson. It is so true that these guys have their favorite moves/phrases that they fall into. I has become attainable-the ability to whip out the notes you feel/hear in your head if one takes this beautiful approach you lay out here. I have noticed if you stick to one player for a few months and transcribe a dozen of their solos, you will start to noticed the licks in which they are building their solos from. Amazing how B.B King songs different than Clapton, who sounds different from Hendrix etc etc. That's why I suggest picking one of your favorites and sticking with them to notice what makes them unique. Take what you like and move on to a different player. Transcribe a dozen of his solos. You will see many similarities from what you picked up from your first hero, while also noticing many unique qualities in this second player. You absorb what you love and move on to a 3rd hero. As you do this you take what you like and toy around trying to blend things. Make the ideas work with each other. As time passes this becomes a hybrid of all your influences. Ultimately it is YOUR style and a new star is born😎 Oh and to add, it doesn't have to be a lot. It is better to take a few ideas that you can technically handle, say 10 to 12, and learn to use them in every song in your set list. Twist and turn them in all the various ways imaginable. Just 4 simple licks can become 24 ideas 4x3x2x1=24. And that's not to mention the difference phrasing you can apply. Hang on this note, emphasize that note. Plus the overall feel/tempo produces different effects. A shuffle blues is different than a jump blues, which is different than a rock and roll jam. A little goes a long long way. Better to know a handful of licks and be able to play them against anything, then to know 100 lick but not be able to step up and perform with other musicians. Again this is a great lesson. One of the best I've seen on UA-cam. Take those ideas as a springboard and in a month or two start your own unique collection.

It's one of the first licks I learned. The Randy Rhoads Star Licks cassette had it. I think I played it better 40 years ago. I need to go back and work on that picking. It's a killer sounding lick. Love the way you play it!
Excellent. I constantly try to play what I hear in my head and sometimes, because my ear to brain to hand connection is not there yet, I can't quite get there. This is very helpful with some things in my head (that I am sure I have collected over time by listening to alot of music--I am like 1,000 years old, so there is alot in there). Good stuff! I think I cut my teeth on this one from Mr Page, it's pure rock n roll though, so many songs. For me it was Led Zeppelin 1 though, Communication Breakdown, Dazed and Confused, Good Times Bad Times, I think he features this on just about every solo he plays on that album and it works to great effect. Also, Hendrix and of course Chuck Berry the grand daddy of us all. I really like your videos, man.
You can slow it down on u tube lol hit your settings button on the top right and it will pop up on the bottom left tell it what u want it’s that simple for u beginners 😮
Friend- I can understand your POV for sure! It has to be tough. AI is disrupting various industries already. But as a content creator I need the ability to create thumbnails quickly and effectively and then be able to test multiple thumbnails and make iterations and minor tweaks / be able to change titles sometimes and all kinds of things. Clearly I’m not a designer or illustrator (!) but AI has enabled me to do what I do best. Much respect to your POV I can empathize.

The concept and actual content of the lesson is great! But unfortunately the presentation, not so much. A simple look into how to use camera angles for more clarity would bring this lesson to the next level and be much better than the use of are enlargement. Plus just making the effort to put the tab for each lick on the screen, as most other instructors do on YT, would make it way easier to follow for all levels of experience. ;)
The title suggests "the secret" I'm not sure about that, lthink everyone knows this simple minor pentatonic riff, I don't think it's a secret if it's used that widely.
If you define it like that then nobody in the world is ever improving. Using any licks, patterns whatsoever also then wouldn’t be improve. With your definition, somebody would have to pick up a guitar that’s just been randomly tuned that they have no clue how it’s tuned and try to make up something on the fly 🙄

Why playnormal speed when studying God sake your timing is awful Play slow correctly before playing fast and break the habit of counting in 4s This is the most common mistake especially with blues everybody thinks it's 4/4 but studying should be 2/2 For ideal breakdown and completeness do 1s work 1 bar at a time Yes commonly you count in 4s But if you are studying you need to break it all down Oh no mention of accent the 3rd note. Why do those that show this technique never break it down to it's actual basics The riff is easy but hard to get right and if you just play along at normal speed your cresendo will never be correct unless taking it slowly and practice over a couple of weeks should be adequate

You're right- the riff is no secret

I would never advise anybody to play like that. I'll Unplug somebody if they do that. This is the most half ast way to play guitar.

Extract the audio out the video and in your DAW ... slow it at will ... this way ... everything makes sense ... at slow speed ...
