Fareed is one of those all too rare teachers who are able to break down even the most (seemingly) complex and deep of musical ideas and make them immediately accessible and usable. I cannot thank him enough for sharing his knowledge, music - and great sense of humor - with us.
Thank you Fareed Haque you are amazing. So blessed to be able to have seen you play live so many times. Can’t wait till the pandemic is over so we can party again.
I always knew about Fareed Haque being a fantastic player but this opened my eyes to what a great teacher he is. Love his energy and spirit. ...heading to TrueFire now. ;-)
Excellent vid! but..they dont "ALL struggle with up tempo playing" some do it like BREATHING :D EX. Martino, Benson, Dimeolo,Mclaughlin and so many others ;) absolute zero struggle.(even when they were just 18 and 19 yrs old ;p Great vid here..Awesome player!
It is due to his picking technique, particularly about the angle of the pick hitting the strings. It sounds very "staccato". That is very typical of players playing with a "pick heavy" approach, such as George Benson, Pat Martino...

I am looking forward to seeing Mr. Haque perform at the DuSable Museum of African American History in a few days. Thanks for posting!
This guy is brilliant, especially for his insights into practical playing in the real world.

Notwithstanding wonderful playing - - The guitar sounds muted - is this due to the bridge?
