y’all, pickpocketing is terrible in barcelona… be wary of your phone and belongings when sitting at restaurants and cafes, especially when random people come up to you to “talk” to you.. most likely a distraction to steal your phone…. also instead of uber, use cabify… similar concept for barcelona! perfect for coming home from the bars or getting to the airport!

Barcelona is considered widely to have one of the highest rates of pickpocket and thieving incidents. I think I have seen stats to support this but as I can't find them, I'll say considered. The amount of theft is genuinely unbelievable I don't have any friends that have lived here for any amount of time that don't have multiple first hand stories. When "Safe" was stated, I was genuinely waiting for the punch line

I have been pretty good at planning things without losing sight of what kind of things I want to get out of this trip. I am someone who doesn't want to rush things and take things slowly, but this Barcelona trip planning feels like a huge challenge due to FOMO creeping out.

This! I never carry a backpack cus that screams tourist to me and I wear a crossbody bag under my top that just pokes out the bottom in front of my stomach that has proper metal buckles that takes them me to undo. I think because of this I never had an issue in Barcelona

I want to come with my dog soon and it would be amazing if you made a video about dog friendly spots, beaches and other things. I have a friend who lives there and he said Barcelona is like London where they allow dogs on transport, in stores etc and I was so pleasantly surprised and happy - it's actually the main reason I am going to come there LOL Thanks again! As a local I can tell you. The city gets unsafer every year. Pickpockets on the beach, streets and subway. Also violent robberies (an average of 20 a day )during the day & night. Keep your valuables at home.

I just got back and stayed in Las Ramblas. It was very safe and the Metro was completely safe at night. Barcelona Metro has a great app and you can preplan your trip route so you don’t get off at the wrong stop.
I would just apply the same common sense / awareness around security as I would in any large city around the world, be it London, Rome or Cairo. As for trying not to look like a tourist in Barcelona that’s impossible for us with our milk-bottle white skins and ‘holiday clothes’ 😄

I lived there for 14 years buy a skateboard something smaller and use busses/trains. And i would recommend going around 6:30-7 for food its still slow no big rush and you can actually talk and build a rep with the shops. But the biggest thing is to have a smile on your face and be friendly the locals are extremely friendly and most are willing to help.

The summer time in Barcelona is the month of August. The winter begin in September. When I was there the only month that is not cold is the summer time. But now it change because of climate change.

From Barcelona going south to Sitges gives you nice beaches. But realistically the north (Costa Brava) is gonna give you the best beaches or water.

Hey Patrick. What do you reckon the temperature is like in November? Not sure if i should be bringing shorts or pants; and if it's still worth going to Spain in November.
November is when its starts to get cold, id definitely be wearing pants, but I would also Google that info so you can see the exact degrees

The summer time in Barcelona is the month of August. The winter begin in September. When I was there the only month that is not cold is the summer time. But now it change because of climate change.

@@dotnout The magic fountain has been off for a year and doesn't look like it's coming back any time soon due to the weather. Tibidabo will be open on the weekends in February and then again in March

It’s one of the biggest holidays, yes. It is very busy. Busier at the second half of the week, especially with domestic trips.
