@@cronus7500 the only thing that I mention in the video is that you really never want to have them on the max budget. The way I gauge whether or not I need more is if I notice multiple production buildings with over 1k units of goods sitting in their output storage, I'll build a couple more.

It made me so much extra money I could build nice houses, mansions and entertainment all over.
Tropico is really flexible, and I love that about this series! I tried to set up an island that was all about criminals. I think it was the first major series that I did on the channel over a year ago. I think at the height, I had around 10% of the population as criminals!

@sanctifymymusic If you watch any of my playthroughs, I usually talk about it quite frequently. I am about to upload pt2 to my new communism playthrough. What I usually do is check out different production buildings and see if they have a lot of goods waiting around. If I spot like 2-3 plantations with over 1k goods sitting around, then I usually make a new teamster office. I would always talk about never having too many teamsters' offices on the max budget as well. If you have a lot of upgraded teamsters' offices and they are all on the max budget, then you could be losing a lot of money every month and not notice. The average budget will do fine most of the time. Keep an eye on that almanac!

Yes, pay attention to the average service quality that your buildings provide. Taverns can be really good, like 70+, if you stack modifiers to get the service quality high; the "National Day" edict and "Supply Locan Market" work mode for Rum Distilleries come to mind. You could technically solely use taverns. Also, Tropicans will seek out buildings with the highest service quality that they can afford, so taverns are a good base line if you have a poor population. This will quickly help you achieve a food happiness of 100 if you set the population up to be able to afford going to the groceries.
It's quite different. You can control a lot more of the finer details. The simplest tips that I can give to a new player are keep everything compact and focus on making money before anything else. Try to hover around 0 unemployed and 0 homeless. Don't build super expensive buildings if you aren't making enough to afford it. If you make it to the "Cold War" Era, go with tourism to make a lot of money very easily. I checked out that idea of placing residential buildings and demolishing them after your urban development ends. It's a really good method if you want a bunch of free money very quickly.
I just bought the game, and I'm kind of struggling with It. Something I didn't see you cover in the first half is, is there a sweet ratio for teamsters to locations? Like, I feel that there is a calculable number of efficiency about how many teamsters.
You could definitely narrow in on the exactness of different things on the island but the more you focus on the fine details, the more you'll realize that generalizing works fine. My best tip for when you should make teamsters is if there are multiple production buildings with a lot of stuff sitting in storage. If you notice that like 3 plantations are filling up, then I'd put down another one.
Also, don't worry about the effectiveness of the teamster's offices, worry more about the wages that the building offers. And NEVER go with the max budget unless you make a lot of money.
I never struggled with eco, but I can never seem to keep my citizens happy enough, and I don’t know how to oppress them enough. I can stuff the ballot boxes and still lose (usually in Cold War)

@@chadreads7873 you can turn voting off without cheats! It's the Martial Law edict! It will harshly decrease liberty on the entire island though. Typically, this will cause a lot of rebellion. It's fine if some of the crops don't quite have an amazing fertility rate. The major thing is that the set up will lose 40% efficiency across the board, but if you set it up properly, it will gain 80%. So, it will net 40%, meaning that even if all of the plantations are at 60% when you set them down, they will climb up to over 100% after you put them all on multiculture. The mega plantation set up has the added bonus of never decreasing soil quality as the multiculture work mode keeps soil qualities from going down. I would recommend constructing the whole thing around the middle 2 crops. Usually sugar. Then make sure that the 3 food crops also get good fertility, then just get the best spots you can for the final few crops. The crop in the middle will get the entire 80% bonus and have a good base fertility and all of the food types will have good efficiencies ensuring that you never run into not having enough food. Hope that helps! 😄
Imports: Throughout one rotation of ships, 1k units of imported goods will arrive on the island. So, if you have one dock and 5 import deals, 1k units of each good will arrive. But if you have like 5 docks, and 5 import deals, then like 200 units will arrive at each dock (it won't always be this clean, sometimes like 145 will show up at one dock and 855 will show up at another, it's random as far as I can tell). Building more docks won't make you import goods faster. The only way to import goods faster is to increase the efficiency of the docks. This will make ships arrive more often and you can also get the edict Advanced Boat Services to make the ships move even faster. Exports: The only real reason to build more than one dock is if you want to increase immigration or if you have a good that is overflowing in a dock. There is a max storage on docks of like 10k units. So, let's say you are producing a lot of logs and every time you check the dock the log storage is full. Then I would either build another dock or process the logs into something else. As for having the same good on two different docks, I believe that teamsters will simply go to the nearest dock to store their goods for export. I hope that clears it up a bit, it was a bit much to try and say all of that in the video, so I tried to condense it.
Can you simply "rescue" educated people with pirate cove instead of buying foreign experts? I just got the game with all the expansions (expect the latest one) from Humble Bundle and I loved Tropico 4, and I've had fun so far.
Totally a valid strategy. The main reason that I hire in foreigners in the guide is because the first few are pretty cheap and I usually only do this within the first few months if I want to get things moving very quickly or if I have a huge amount of money to toss around. The pirate cove works very well and later you can simply educate your population and use the immigration office to get more educated people onto the island. Thanks for the comment! @@_xoma_-yo2zf they could be useful, I think. Tropico has never been all about traffic, but there has been some times that I figured that a roundabout would help the flow out. I would make it a 5 x 5 square to keep everything neat. I will link a video that I made in a second.
@@_xoma_-yo2zf I went looking through my last series that I did but I can't find the clip :/ but the essence of what I want to say is that you can surround a 3x3 park or plaza to make a roundabout. Not sure exactly how effective it would be, but potentially, it could be useful for a particularly busy intersection. It would also probably look pretty nice with the park in the middle. you could even put a restaurant or any other buildings like a metro or something. I would shy away from every building curved roads unless they are away from buildings.

The most simple thing that I suggest you can do is to always build more production buildings to have a lot of money. Late game either build up tourism or a good college and start building offices. Keep it neat and the final build will be neat.
I actually realized this mistake while I was editing the video together. I figured that no one would notice, so I didn't bother to go back in and rerecord it! 😅
This was one of the first videos on my channel and while I was editing it, I hated hearing my inhaling, so I cut it all out and didn't leave any gaps, so it sounds like I'm talking endlessly without inhaling. I figured that the quick speed would be fine since the set of videos is already an hour long.
Newspaper only goes to $9 for me?
Not sure if you figured out what your issue was, if by decreasing your budget you mean, then a wage of below $10 a month will allow for a poor wage.
reeally trying to like this game but a lot of it is going over my head
the game tutorial is not very good, it's like "ok do this....now do this...now do this"
and im like "ok i did what i'm told but i didnt learn anything, i don't know WHY i did it or what effect it had"
The most simple thing that I suggest you can do is to always build more production buildings to have a lot of money. Late game either build up tourism or a good college and start building offices. Keep it neat and the final build will be neat.
W GAME
now do some rust its fun game
WW2 was not the west vs the east there bud, thats after. Learn history
I actually realized this mistake while I was editing the video together. I figured that no one would notice, so I didn't bother to go back in and rerecord it! 😅
Oh yeah, I actually put a little comment up on the top of the clip correcting my mistake during that part of the video.
U talk too fast, hard to learn from that u should make video step by step, not 1000 informations during 10 sec
This was one of the first videos on my channel and while I was editing it, I hated hearing my inhaling, so I cut it all out and didn't leave any gaps, so it sounds like I'm talking endlessly without inhaling. I figured that the quick speed would be fine since the set of videos is already an hour long. I probably won't be making any more guides on this game as there isn't really anything else that I have to share. If you learn everything in this video, you'll learn pretty much everything there is to know about the game. I wish that I could make a video that was absolutely perfect, but this is all I am capable of.
Ever heard of playback speed?
